Must have receiver The DSP sound quality is so beautiful….. Great deal for home system as best if you want quality surround sound
Chichi –
We upgraded from our old Sony AV system. I love the look of this unit. The sound is great. Got it connected and running in no time. Glad I purchased.
ChrisN –
Sounds great and was bery easy to hook up and get working.
Larry –
Good receiver but don’t have the firmware update done. What I liked is my previous receiver was a Yamaha and all harmony remote works the same on the new one. Sounds very good and especially like the center channel how clear it is. Good surround too.
VickyS –
Very satisfied with the product. We had to call support when we were setting it up and they were very helpful.
Brehmis –
Overall a good receiver. Easy to set up and sounds great. Paired with Klipsch speakers.

I bought this receiver to replace an older Yamaha that I had for 10 Years. Right out of the box, this receiver sounded great.
Clear, crisp detailed sound especially from games and movies. Unfortunately, after a couple of weeks I started having HDMI issues and had to return it
Tedro –
Very easy to set up. Went from 5 channel Yamaha to 7. Wow! What a difference in the surround sound!
Bill1260 –

Best home theater for the price clear sound and Power

This A/V receiver could be the market’s best value-for-money pick, offering excellent sound quality and robust power. However, it’s not without flaws. The user interface feels outdated, and it’s not the most intuitive—this could be a letdown for users expecting a modern touch. Additionally, the HDMI bandwidth is limited to 24 Gbps, which may concern those wanting to connect more advanced gaming systems like a PS5 or a PC with an RTX4090. This limitation could be a significant compromise for enthusiasts seeking to push their equipment to the limits. Despite these issues, for those prioritizing sound quality and power on a budget, this receiver remains a strong contender.
MikeK –
Easy set and great sound!! Love that it’s Wi-Fi now
ToddL –
According to Google review great receiver to support newly installed surround sound.
HerbgGee –
Love the raw, clean power and some of the DSP I’ve figured out but for someone who is more of a listener than a techi, this thing is impossibly complex.

Yamaha – RX-V6A 7.2-channel AV Receiver with 8K HDMI and MusicCast – Used Geek Squad for installation which was the right move for sure.

Replaced my 15 years old yamaha receiver. I couldn’t decide on which brand to buy between yamaha, pioneer, marantz and denon. I picked yamaha rxv6a just because of reviews, price and size of room to use for. Setup was easy I just followed the instructions and it worked with no issues. Tested MI 6 and top gun maverick. Setup at 5.1.2 and I WAS BLOWN AWAY! My Klipsch sound amazing. Great product. I am happy with my purchase.

I have to tell you this receiver absolutely kicks, butt

I purchased this receiver to add to my man cave. I have been impressed with the performance of this device. I had an issue
With setting up music cast. Despite what many said online I found that if the antennas are block you can’t connect music cast. After making sure that the antennas were clear the system works great. I’m very happy with the sound quality and easy of use. Setting up my speakers and other devices were a breeze! I’m giving the ease of use only three stars due to the antenna issue.

When I upgraded my 10(ish) year old LED TV to a newer OLEDevo one, I realized my old Yamaha receiver wouldn’t handle the newer 4K or 8K HDMI standards. So, I ended up also upgrading the audio. I was so happy with my old Yamaha, I wanted to stick with the brand and bought this unit. LOVE it! Audio quality is every bit as good as it was, and it handles 8K video just fine. The network connectivity is also great, so I can run network streamed radio and such during the non-TV hours. Overall, a great upgrade to my home entertainment system.
VictorB –
Nice reciever overall, could have a few more settings for fine tuning
TimB –
Upgraded from my last Yamaha receiver.. Love the new features on this new one. Great sound as always.
KingdomFam –
Works great, great sound from the back of the room to the front.
CSFs –
This receiver is great. Only issues we had is that it did not want to turn on once. I had to do a hard restart (unplugged it then replugged it) to get it to turn on. No other issues so far.
ChrisRay –
Another quality Yahama. Not my first unit; still got the old one too. This one’s fabulous
Harry –
I’m still figuring out the feature set, since Thanksgiving was a break after just attaching it to my current system.
The downloaded user guide is more helpful than the quickstart guide, especially with a variety of devices attached to my old receiver.
BrandenM –
Very good product. It was very easy to install and it does just what I need it to do with good quietly sound for the price!
shredder –
Works just as advertised and so far, working like a charm.

Decided to replace our older Yamaha receiver when we got our new LG OLED 65″ TV. So glad we did! Sound is AMAZING!
TimothyN –

RichardL –
had a older yamaha amp that I liked this one is better seperation I’m hearing thinks I couldn’t with the old unit,
DennisW –
Love it.. I told my wife, I bet this is how rich people use their sound system. LOL
NunoA –
Great amp lots of power and makes using lots of other inputs easy.

This thing doesn’t sound all that great straight out of the box BUT tweak the setting a little bit and it sounds amazing! I’ve always been a huge Sony fan but needed a new amp that also has a phono input on it. Sony doesn’t seem to include that anymore on theirs so I decided to give this Yamaha a try since it was one of a few amps I found that includes a phono input. I brought it home and set it up with my Polk bookshelf speakers and Klipsch subwoofer. At first it didn’t sound as good as my 24 year old Sony amp. I played around with the settings for a day and increased the bass a tiny bit and viola! it sounds wonderful! The surround sound is better then my old Sony amp and the entire sound is clear and crisp. This amp is a keeper. I hope it lasts as long as my Sony amp did. It’s a little on the expensive side but you are getting a lot for the price. I like being able to connect my phone to it via Bluetooth and having access to music streaming apps through the amp directly. I appreciate the Ethernet port too, although it does also have wi-fi if you don’t want to or can’t hardwire it to your router. Not really a fan of the big knob right in the center. I’d rather it be off to the side. The display could be a little bit brighter too. The remote is a nice small size. Beats the huge one that my Sony amp had. It makes a slight mechanical clunk when turning it on and off but it’s quieter than the clunk that my old amp made when turning it on and off. One thing I can’t seem to get it to do is turn on with the tv. It will turn off automatically when you turn off the tv but not on.
I can’t find any settings that would allow that but that’s no deal breaker. All in all, I’m very pleased with it so far and would recommend it.
RonandlisaR –
Has very clear sound and picture to the tv. Not easy to setup.
RafaelM –
I heard a lot of people speaking good about yamaha receivers and was skeptical to try it! IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT, make my speakers sound loud and crisp!
Poppi –
Sounds great, except there is a very annoying momentary loss of sound. Again and again and again!
JoseJ –
Purchased the Yamaha RX-V6a out of the box in excellent condition. It was in excellent condition when it arrived and appears to work just fine. Contacting Best Buy for installation assistance through Geek Squad.
CMD1 –
Easy set up and great sound. Integrated easily with a Sony TV and DirectTV set up
Bestbuyfan –
Easy to set up i was up and running within 30 minutes of unboxing.
Jose2 –
I bought an “excellent condition” open box from best buy . It came in with some damage. I connected the receiver and did all the calibration steps/setup . Kept losing audio with a message showing decoder off on unit . Thought maybe it was do to the receiver being damaged . Nope . Went back to best buy and purchased a new unit and still had the same issue of losing sound in the middle of a show or movie.
kwood –
replaced prior unit, caught this on sale and was a good purchase.
RichardM –
An awesome surround amp vary powerful and clear sound, very happy with the product.
HowardL –
Poor machine have had geek squad back twice already and still not working properly.
Dont buy it I’ll be returning the one I have
Griegjo1 –
This Yamaha RX-V6A receiver is exceptional regarding sound quality and has enough power to push high end tower, large center and large surround speakers. The receiver has exceeded all expections.
Blinkeye –
Music streams on Bluetooth with great melody, USB when I play my music, sounds so cool and perfect. Has a lot of features like radio and can install my phono player. Today connected my subwoofer to the yamaha and wowww perfect tuning. It has a connection for a second sub. Connected through my yamaha app and can connect to a second room. Perfect for movies, music and gaming. I recommended it to some friends and loved it.Excellent price.
ShanthiU –
