Beautiful receiver with a ton of options. Using as my surround sound processor for TV and it works excellent. HDMI connection is fast and consistently reliable.

Great improvement over our 6 year old Sony receiver. Night and day difference in sound quality
LuisL –
Love how easy it is to work with! Great quality for a price you cannot beat!
Vanhk –
The sound from this Yamaha is fantastic. The imaging is clear, sound is robust, and it just sounds “open” That’s the best way i can explain it. There was a very small learning curve with the remote coming from a Denon and Onkyo remote but once I figured it out it became second nature. Highly recommend!

Great out put power, reasonably priced,no distortion, have owned other yamaha receiver’s, an i can say I’ve never been disappointed;)

Its out in our RV. Have not used it much. It seems to be working great.
PatrickK –
Best bang for your buck. Great quality. I have always had Sony but now I will never go back.
JermaineD –
Love the fact it’s also Bluetooth compatible for speakers and you can use your cellphone to operate.
The power it produces is great. I have a 12” sub and every thing is perfect

Entry level, but sounds good.
It replaced a Denon AV receiver that didn’t last 2 years—-the Yamaha sounds much better.

The rxv4 is an awsome reciever very loud and clear. It has mutiple functions. Its takes a little while to get used to all the functions but once youve learned it you’re good to go. Its an all around great reciever!!

Husband said its Awesome!!! We had to replace our old one that completely died in the middle of an action movie that was not a fun Saturday evening. So naturally we needed to replace it before fnaf came out lol. We couldn’t watch that movie without surround sound. Luckily it arrived earlier than expected!!

Works great. Not hard to hookup. Bluetooth works great.
BrianJ –
Great receiver for the money, especially if using musiccast. it does lack dolby atmos, hence the good price.
DerricG –
Works great! Quality sound. Easy to use, nice looking receiver

Absolutely amazing !!! I love this thing , would buy again
AlexP –
Great product!! I bought this receiver to upgrade my old Yamaha one as I wanted a receiver that fits with 8k TV’s and systems that use hdmi 2.1 cables. I love my new receiver!! Connects the internet for you to stream all of your favorite music along with giving great audio to all of your favorite movies and shows
Cowboy –
Meets all my expectations that i was looking for in a a/v receiver.
Cc75 –
Great head end. My older Yamaha died and this is the perfect replacement
Williamsburggeek –
Fine when it worked but the hdmi pass through was wonky. Not as sturdy as yamaha used to be

This is hands down the best value on the market right now if you want airplay / google home + surround sound. At $350 vs a Bose or Sonos stereo receiver for $600, it beats these products in every category other than size – the Yamaha is a standard sized av receiver. I have bought 4 of them for my house and will probably buy at least 2 more. Fit well in AV rack systems.

Was a Christmas gift to my husband. He loved it. I always tey to watch for sales.

Been using Yamaha products for years couldn’t pass up the sale price

When I purchased this receiver, I planned to purchase a Samsung soundbar. I gave up Dolby Atmos and dealt with the frustration of selecting speakers, running speaker wire and locating banana plugs to make this work with two bookshelf speakers. The phrase “there is no replacement for displacement” applies to this receiver and the speakers that are intended for this product. The best analogy I can offer is a front wheel drive crossover with a turbo V6 vs. a full size SUV with a standard V8. A soundbar does the job well and is less frustrating but the solid audio experience with the power output this receiver delivers to larger speakers is far more impressive and satisfying. Freeing myself from the chaos of Dolby Atmos and gong back to basics with speaker wire and a true 5.1 setup calmed me greatly and restored my enjoyment of home theater

Excellent purchase price. Easy to connect and operate.

This is a nice Yamaha receiver in the mid level line of electronics. I was replacing a high end system that did not have the HDMI connections for all the video, game, & cable hook ups. Does not have old school video connections. The step below still has composite audio video connections if you still need them. I did not need to replace the speakers, so I went with the 5.2 model.

Good receiver. Only running a 2.0 setup currently but I like all of the customization options as I add on to my system. The app to connect is a bit wonky but does eventually work after trying to connect a few times. A little disappointing you have to go to their website for the full manual but it seems all electronics are that way now.

Awesome power and clarity. Cool function great sound
PatrickB –
Very good receiver options and quality sound and contols
WilliamG –
The most important criteria is sound quality. This unit has the best. Easy setup, HDMI eARC and Optical are superb. Pandora via musiccast is a dream. The only negative is that it does not support youtube music streaming.
Rich –
Great sound quality and options as well as video quality. Purchased to support eventual upgrade to 4k TV.
RafaelM –

I did some research before buying this model to upgrade my 10 YO Yamaha receiver. Does everything I need it to do
JohnD –
Great surround sound from all 5 speakers, plus subwoofer. Easily switches between cable and Roku. Install and setup by Willie G was perfect.
VgGaming –
Very good reveiver and got at a great deal open box!
Only con is it lacks dolby atmos support.
Sammy –
Great receiver for the price. I needed a receiver to stream music to my wired outdoor speakers and to connect to a projector mounted in my backyard. Easy to use app. Highly recommended.
LGtv –
great receiver if your looking to upgrade to bluetooth. excellent for the price.
BonnieG –
This component updated our old system in moments and we love the additional viewing options it has provided and its ease of use
damihi –
Purchased this unit to replace an aged Yahama unit and so far it has been excellent! I like the Bluetooth to my phone feature really well & the Bluetooth to my headphones so I can watch TV in the Bedroom without disturbing my wife!
uspquattro –
It looks unbeliavably good too! I am powering a polk elite system with this and wow the sound is so crisp and clean and powerful. I have two ES20’s powered by 2 channels, a single channel for the center and the remaining 2 channels used in a bi-amp wiring configuration powering a single ES60. There are also two subwoofer pre-amp outputs one of which im runnkng to a Klipsch 10”. No regrets here at all. This receiver does not break a sweat and im using it primarily as a stereo recoeber and not for home theater.

This a great tuner! The sound is fabulous and I’m enjoying everything about it!
DavidS –
So far so good. It doing all that I ask it to do. Have had Yamaha for years
PatMcAndrew –
For a $300+ receiver the sound is average. Am finding the menu difficult to see and follow. Ive had Yamaha recievers for last 30 years and wanted the new hdmi ports etc.
stvitus –
I upgraded from an older 5.1 avr so I could utilize 4K pass through and not have to send four hdmi cables through the wall. It works great for that purpose as long as you don’t require 7 channels. If you think you might scale up, get the V6A, but if you’re sticking with 5.1, this seems like a steal. I’m not using the wifi or musicast for the rear channel, but I am using the musicast app to play music off the NAS/ethernet and its sounds great. I paid a lot of money for a network player not so long ago, and it’s amazing what you can get that functionality out of the box with a receiver now. The DAC probably isn’t as great as you get with a standalone, but it’s a serious bonus for an AVR, imo.
BoulderGeorge –
YAMAHA’s RX-V4A 5.2 channel AV receiver is very capable of driving five home theater speakers (two front towers plus a center channel and two rear surround speakers) with its 80 watts of clean, undistorted amplifier power. It can also support two subwoofers for amazing bass effects and is “future-proofed capable” with 8K HDMI versus today’s 4K televisions.

Needed to replace a pre smart receiver and this thing is wicked. Set-up was a breeze and haven’t performed a room calibration yet but, soon.
