    Needed a very compact subwoofer. This was one of the most compact 8″ subwoofers that I could find that wasn’t extremely expensive and had good reviews on the internet. I see why; it’s a great subwoofer. Use it for my 5.1 surround system in my condo and it provides great bass

    I installed a surround sound system with six speakers in a new outside pavilion. The sound was greatly improved with the addition of this sub-woofer. I have an older Yamaha sub-woofer for my indoor stereo and have always been happy with it.

    Hooked up to Yamaha 5.1 system. Using only 2.1. Def Tech 350’s set to small, crossover set to 120hz, and this sub does the rest. Excellent for my bedroom. I believe it would do a fantastic job for anyone in this price range, size. Only draw back is the on off switch, it does not sense volume to turn on and off. Solved with a extension cord with a built in power switch.

    I had a great home theatre set up at home. Just missing a Sub. The Yamaha – 8″ 50W Powered Subwoofer was exactly what I needed. Compact in size and provides excellent lows when paired with my Sony Receiver. It is surprisingly powerful for only 50 watts. Gives me exactly what I need. Nothing more nothing less.

    I have been happy with the great rich smooth bass and great lows that matches up with my system. Plus it just looks cool! For the on/off I just hooked the plug in into remote switch on/off electrical plug on outlet. 50w was more then enough power for a mid size to small room, I actually had to turn down the “dbs” on the receiver to match it up with my Onkyo 686, 5.1 system so the bass wouldn’t overwhelm the sound. Very happy!

    Set this up with small bookshelf speakers. Was too boomy so had to attenuate 120hz output with an equalizer that I had on hand. After equalization, adds good bottom end for an overall full sound.

    Smaller size, but produces sufficient bass for my use. Fit’s nicely in corner, ported on side…. On/Off switch in back, has light (in back) that glows when powered. Overall, very happy with purchase. Wasn’t available in store, but was shipped, well packaged and reasonable shipping.

    This sub came with the bundled yamaha 5.1 speakers and preamp. Very happy with everything except this subwoofer. The bass is not very loud and gets muddy if you turn it up high. It doesnt drown out the dialogue for tv and movies which is good, but i expected more. May be replacing this piece in my setup!

    I purchased this Yamaha sub-woofer to match some excellent Yamaha NS-7.2 speakers that I have had for 40+ years, It was very easy to hook up into my system and once I had the volume adjusted the total sound was perfect. The fact that it was very reasonably priced helped my wallet.

    Great little sub so far. I use it primarily for music in my man cave, and it has offer a very solid performance for the price so far. The adjustable gain makes it very versatile. Have not used it for movies yet, but I think it will sound great.
