Lot of effort put into the DLC. Nothing mind blowing, just more world to live in.
John –
I really like how you unlock your DLC trough the main History, so you can buy it with your New Game the same day.
cudatron –
This DLC has been really fun. The extra quests have been great and the prequel story looks really cool too.
Bama –
This added quite a bit to the game along with some great items such as legendary cores.
bp0453 –
Love the series’s, this game pass offers a lot of content for a good price.
Danny –
This is a great purchase for fans of the Xenoblade Chronilces 2 game. You get a bunch of in game bonuses which are very useful for progressing in the game and you also get the story DLC (Torna).
Jesi –
The expansion pass dlc is absolutely worth it as on top of the expansion it comes with multiple things for the base game. It’s interesting How the expansion is separate from the base game
DHmom –
This was purchased for my son. He likes the game and plays it often.
Marcie –
I love Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and when I heard there was going to be a dlc prequel I was super excited! Had to buy the dlc. Very good storyline for torna the golden country. The dlc bonus goodies are great too. The new blades pretty much make post game superbosses a cinch and the new challenge mode gives great rewards. Looking to sink a good thirty new hours into you xc2 game? Buy it! You won’t regret it.
Kyba –
Great dlc for Xenoblade. I ended up liking that game more than I thought
Patt –
My teenage kids love playing this. Looks like fun to me too.
Marth –
Bought the base game at release and just added the season pass to get access to the Torna expansion game, which is cheaper than just buying the standalone
paule –
I wanted to have additional features for my Xenoblade Chronicles 2 game and purchased the expansion pack. I had previously done this for my Zelda game and I enjoyed the added features provided this expansion pack.
Ronin –
If you enjoyed the campaign, then this a great purchase. Adds content like challenges and a side story.
Spoat –
Great expansion to an already great game. Cannot recommend this enough to switch owners.
cgut2000 –
This is a fun and big open world game. I got stuck on a part in the original game so I haven’t gotten to this DLC yet.
VictorTheDino –
The expansion is very good and the start of it is even better paced than the base game’s beginning, the items that the DLC are also a great way to enhance your experience in the base game.
ACasualGamer –
I absolutely loved Xenoblade 2 and wanted to experience more of it, which led me to this purchase. This DLC gives you several more hours to enjoy. There are elements of the gameplay from the original game that are more simplified and streamlined, however this DLC places more importance on story and the lore from Xenoblade 2.
SuperSmashFM –
If you’re a fan of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and you’ll looking for more, then this is easily the best bang for your buck. It is expensive, but there’s a lot to be had. I believe there are three waves of content added to the base game, including more quests, blades, and neat stuff, such as clothing customization of characters, difficulty modes, and a nice tie-in with the rest of the Xenoblade franchise.
Then there’s the Torna expansion. This adds onto the base game and it’s basically another game, albeit a bit shorter (it’s still ~20-40 hours). Just getting to experience the past of XC2, and its characters is interesting enough. Plus, more awesome music.
But of course, there are some things to be aware of. Most of the content added to the base game won’t appeal to anyone who has no interest in side quests. Plus, access to customization essentially requires you to grind excessively for the currency, and some people just don’t have the time to do that. And with the Torna expansion, you are obligated to finish all side quests before you can see the ending. Anyone who neglected these quests will not enjoy having to do all these tasks at once.
All in all, this is a DLC only for those who are wanting more from XC2 (which in itself, is already a big game).

Please get this DLC if you’re a fan of the series. Explains a lot of lore. Should be played after Xenoblade 2.
Cudatron –
This game was a lot of fun! Check it out! so fun!!
Tigg –
fun game to play, enjoy playing for hours and hours!
John –
Adds tons of hour for a new standalone title for Xenoblade 2
Jules –
Is a must when you own the full game, adds new features and blades, as well as a stand alone game that gives background to the game
Lethal –
Really great addition to the base game and worth it.
Zero2B –
Fast code delivery and amazing game. Must-have game of 2020.
Josie –
This is the prequil. Even if you try to find a physical form of this to buy, it’ll be a download code. This was the best price I found for the add on game.
Srgisme –
A boring dlc that was almost not worth the purchase, only get if you’re a completionist like I am.
JordanKinsley –
This is DLC done right. It comes with its own game to expand on the story to some of the other characters in the game. It also adds comes with a lot of extra goodies. for the main game, and if you get it before you start the game it really helps you get started with some extra money and items
Joel –
Big additions to the game, Torna the golden country is a fun prequel to the base game.
MrMichael –
Good extra content for a great game, adds dozens of hours.
JekkJekkTarr –
Fun extras and adds a lot of content to grind through.
PKThunder –
Note: This expansion pass is for people who already own Xenoblade 2 and want to purchase the Torna DLC campaign, along with other assorted bits of content like the Shulk and Fiora encounters. Nintendo marketed this DLC really strangely, but that’s what you’ll get if you buy this.
I mainly purchased this for Torna, and the 30-hour prequel campaign was really good. I liked it better than the base game, primarily because it respects the player’s time a LOT more, and the story and characters were significantly more enjoyable.
Torna streamlines and simplifies a lot of the bloated features that, in my opinion, weighed Xenoblade 2 down. The inventory is simpler, you don’t have to manage every shop in the world yourself, and there are only 3 playable characters with no “rolling” for random Blades. This cuts down on the clutter and busywork that took up about 30% of Xenoblade 2’s playtime. It just feels so much better to battle and explore without getting bogged down in those horrible menus.
The story is still not amazing, but it wasn’t actively bad in the ways I felt Xenoblade 2 could sometimes be. A lot of the uncomfortable anime tropes are played down in favor of the characters speaking and acting like normal people. The distinct lack of catgirls and maids was a major improvement. Also the jazz-inspired music is phenomenal.
Overall I think Torna was a great update to Xenoblade 2 and it’s the portion of the game I’ll be playing if I ever decide to revisit it.

I waited to play this DLC until after I finished the main Xenoblade Chronicles 2 game. The DLC story is a prequel to the main game, and I don’t think you have to play the main game first, but it will hit a lot harder if you do. The gameplay mechanics are very simple compared to the main game, and the length is under 20 hours. Even though you play as different characters, I found that I almost liked the DLC as much as the main game. It is pretty dark and depressing, but it adds so much to characters that you didn’t know as much about in the main game. The next time I play Xenoblade 2, I will play the DLC first (chronological order) to see the story progress in a different way.
RayRayRay –
DLC… yea you know me! Whos down with DLC?! YEA YOU KNOW MEEE!!
Entropy989 –
I originally played xenoblade 2 when it released a couple years ago. After playing xenoblade 3 (i did not enjoy it), i decided to go back to 2 and get the dlc. Theres a ton of added missions, some added blades and the added story mode of torna. Im still workjng through the main campaign, but it feels much more difficult than i remember. I remember referring to the game as ‘comfy’ when it first came out, now im having to really focus on my blades and combos to beat the bosses and unique monsters. No complaints, just feels different than my first playthrough. I do feel the dlc has made the game feel fresh, allowing me to play with a new roster and abilities. Gave it a 4 out of 5 primarily because the price hasnt changed even though its 18 months old and the 3rd game is out. Definitely worth a pickup if you are going for a second playthrough.
Unknown –
Classic game and good port on Switch, would recommend.
Khaz661 –
Whether you play this expansion first or after xenoblade chronicles 2, you will have fun.
YuNarukami –
Learn the story of Jin’s frozen corpse girlfriend from the base game! She is the best though. He’s just weird. Mythra is there and she is looking fine as ever too.
MoonKnight –
Great product. Just as advertised and was worth the price.
