The Withings Body Comp scale has some additional features that you won’t get with some budget scales, however I find that some features are a bit gimmicky and functionality could use some improvements. For the most part, I have seen pretty accurate readings on my weight, but there has been two occasions where I have seen readings off by 10lbs in both directions. This is obviously a noticeable change to know it was incorrect and reweighing immediately after cam back to normal. Having multiple users requires the app for configurations. The manual doesn’t really help with this as initially I did not know who to change users for the weight to get logged appropriately. Fortunately i was able to sometime online that states you can lean on one foot to switch users. I appreciate the fact you don’t have to bend over to push buttons or log onto the app to switch users, however if you have anyone in the family that is close to your weight, both must be willing to ensure they are switching users in the scale otherwise the reading be logged in the account the scale thinks it is. I think this issue is pretty common on smart scales, but still annoying as for anyone keeping track of history and goal tracking they have to monitor their readings on the app and make sure they clear out the wrong ones. The scale does give you additional health readings along with short history directly on the scale to see some trending, but I wouldn’t say it is a huge value add as most of other readings and feeding analysis will be on the app anyways. The app has some good integrations with other health devices and services, which is a plus to see all of you health data in one app. I like that the unit is set up to Wi-Fi so that you don’t have to have your mobile app on for your readings. I have had issues with other budget products with Bluetooth consistently, so this was a nice benefit. Over all the scale looks nice, but has some flaws and the gimmicky features don’t add that much value. I think you can get most of these features on other devices so can’t really say this is a major upgrade from some of those budget smart scales.

Following triple-bypass heart surgery, my cardiac rehabilitation program required two things, an accurate scale for weight management, and an accurate blood pressure monitor. Withings offers both, but this review is for the Withings Body Comp scale. This scale goes way beyond just measuring your weight. While the scale will do that accurately by itself, you will want to connect the scale to your smartphone and install the Withings Health Mate app to unlock all its amazing features. The app not only provides the added benefit of logging your data each time you step on the scale, it tracks your daily progress…valuable information that you can potentially share with your medical care team.
The setup of the scale is simple and straightforward, with an option in my case to integrate with the Apple Health app on my iPhone. It will also work with android phones using the Google Fit app. I also have a diet tracking app that can receive my weight readings from the Withings Body Comp scale, presumably since it also shares data with my Apple Health app. This saves me the time of entering my weight into various and different apps on my phone.
What makes the Withings Body Comp scale truly amazing is the additional features that measure your heart rate, calculate body mass and composition, and vascular age, and measure electrodermal activity to evaluate the health of your sweat glands. So, as you can see, this is not your father’s bathroom scale! Note that some of these features will require that you stand barefoot on the scale. If you stand on the scale long enough, it will even tell you the day’s weather predictions of high and low temperature as well as air quality analysis (requires connect the scale to your Wi-Fi network). Of course, all this data is logged using the smartphone app, but the scale also features an easy-to-read display that cycles through the various readings.
The design of the scale is simple and attractive, with soft rubber feet for hard floors and it can work on carpet with the included foot adapters. The scale’s top is all glass for a clean and elegant look in any bathroom décor.
The Withings smartphone app offers a comprehensive set of features and options that you can configure to meet your personal requirements. Complete health reports can be generated and shared with medical professionals or for your own personal recordkeeping and analysis. Detailed reports can also analyze some of the data and indicate health trends and highlight your progress in weight loss management for example. How much data you integrate into the app from your smartphone is highly configurable, making the app a personal reflection of your specific health needs or requirements.
Of course, the most important function of a scale is to accurately measure weight, and that’s primarily why I chose a scale from Withings. Their scales are reportedly accurate to within one tenth of a pound, providing confidence in tracking my weight moving forward with my cardiac rehab program. For once, I look forward to getting on the bathroom scale!

You need to download the Withings app from the App Store and connecting to your iPhone is quite easy. To set up an account, the app wanted more information than what I am comfortable with. Birthday, height, weight, location. One always wonders who owns this app and how, secure is the data. (Will I be blackmailed with my age and weight going public? (LOL). So I first checked out the company .This is what I found:
Withings is a French consumer electronics company headquartered in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France. It also has offices in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, and Hong Kong, and distributes its products worldwide.
This is my first experience with a Smart Scale and it is quite sophisticated. It weighs within a pound of my regular scale but it has all kinds of features, of which I don’t totally understand. It states that Your Body Comp is more than just a scale. It provides in-depth analysis of your overall health at every weigh-in, including two revolutionary new health metrics: Vascular Age and Electrodermal Activity Score.
– Vascular Age :This metric gives you insight into the health of your arteries at a glance.
– Electrodermal Activity Score :Assess the stimulation response of your sweat glands, which are responsible for sweat production.
– Pulse Wave Velocity : Each time your heart beats it induces a wave along the aorta and arterial tree. This wave is due to blood volume changes in the vessels that expand and contract in response to blood pressure changes.
The scale also shows inside and outside temp but I found this to be inaccurate but perhaps it is picking up one of my alternative locations. It also does air quality.
The app can be linked to your Apple Watch and fitness info but I haven’t elected to do that yet.
Overall, it is a very nice scale but will take some time for me to fully understand all of the categories.it syncs to your phone immediately for a quick review of your metrics.

The Withings Body Comp scale is a solid choice for anyone looking for a reliable, and accurate way to track their weight, body fat percentage, and other health metrics. It is pretty easy to use and provides easy-to-understand results. All your data syncs with the Withings Health Mate app, which makes it easy to track your progress over time. I was already using the Withings app for my hybrid smartwatch, so this was a no-brainer for me. I’ll include some screenshots of the Withings app with my stats so people can see what kind of information they’ll be seeing once setting up the scale.
Here are some of the pros and cons of the Withings Body Comp scale that will help you with your purchasing decision:
Pros:
Affordable: The Body Comp scale is very affordable, especially when compared to other high-quality scales on the market.
Accurate: The Body Comp scale uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) to measure your body composition. BIA is a safe and effective way to measure your body fat percentage, muscle mass, and bone density. There is also a vascular age metric that takes a bit to compute but is very interesting in itself. I’m really excited to learn more about my body through this scale.
Easy to use: The Body Comp scale is super easy to use. Simply step on the scale and it will automatically measure your weight, body fat percentage, and other key health metrics.
Syncs with the Withings Health Mate app: The Body Comp scale syncs with the Withings Health Mate app, which makes it easy to track your progress over time. The app also allows you to set goals, track your diet and exercise, and share your progress with friends and family. The app will automatically find the scale once you turn it on and open up the app. It’s a super simple setup process.
Cons:
The app can be slow at times: The Withings Health Mate app can be a bit slow at times, especially when first loading. However, this is a minor gripe and doesn’t affect the overall performance or experience in my opinion.
The scale looks kind of boring: The Body Comp scale is a basic white scale. It is not as stylish as some other options on the market, but it is still a very functional scale.
I really enjoyed using the Withings Body Comp scale and really haven’t had any issues with it. This will replace my older smart scale and I’m excited to track my health trends and learn more about how each metric affects my overall health. If you just want a scale that tells you how much you weigh then look elsewhere, but if you want a full body analysis every time you step on the scale then look no further than the Withings Body Comp.

Having used body composition scales for years, plus being someone who tracks these metrics seriously, I can say this is a great scale that provides tons of insights, it has a well-thought out companion app, and it also integrates well with Apple Health to provide a more well-rounded picture of your health.
The scale itself is quite attractive with a glass top and metal accents. The display is very easy to read where it’s bright and has a lot of contrast. When taking a measurement, it will display your weight (of course 😉 but it also shows your weight trends over the last 7 weigh-ins. Then it proceeds to measure and display your BMI, Fat Mass, Muscle Mass, Body Water percentage, Bone Mass, and Visceral Fat.
Beyond that, and these are metrics that I haven’t really seen before on a body comp scale, it can display your heart rate, vascular age, EDA (electrodermal Activity), and then it can also display information that’s synced over wifi like the weather, air quality, and also your step count which can be synced over from your health platform of choice (like Apple Health).
In terms of the body composition metrics, these seem to be very similar to another similarly priced body comp scale from another manufacturer I have. What’s interesting though is they have an “Athlete Mode” but that doesn’t seem to affect the composition percentages. I’ve found that most scales that measure body composition via impedance tend to have a harder time with the lower body fat percentages of athletes. I tend to hover around 10% (known through DEXA scans I get every couple years) but this is about the same as other scales I’ve used where it reports around 14-15%. Although I wish it was more inline with actual, this is something I’ve gotten used to with consumer body composition scales and realistically, the trends are more important than an exact percentage.
The additional vascular age metric was particular interesting to me being that I suffer from high blood pressure so this helps provide another data point beyond just my blood pressure reading which I monitor with a blood pressure cuff.
The app displays all of this information in a well-thought-out and nicely designed interface. Everything is easy to use and understand and what I like quite a bit is all the supporting information on what each of these metrics actually mean.
Using this scale does require using it with the app and setting up an account but I couldn’t imagine benefiting from the wealth of information it can collect without the app.
Another feature I liked about the app is that it can connect to Apple Health and the neat thing about this integration is that it can pull information from Apple Health into the app such as steps, heart rate, and even fitness metrics, along with updating Apple Health with the information that the scale collects.
Overall, this is a fantastic scale if you’re looking for nearly every data point imaginable along with a very seamless and friendly app experience.

I recently changed from using a “fb” health tracking device to using an Apple Watch. For me the latest “fb” watch did not track my sleep properly, it basically said I never slept. My wife has not had the same issues, her tracker works fine for her. A few years back we got the “fb” scale and she had used it pretty regularly; so I’m familiar with the data it captured. This Withings scale is quite similar, but I actually find it to be much more sophisticated with better data collection (although I’ve used it just over a week). I had a lot of problems with getting the “fb” scale to register my Ecg and O2 saturation, but no problems at all with the Withings. The Withings is also much faster in collecting data, it takes between 25-30s to collect all data; the “fb” scale took closer to a minute. If you’ve never used a smart scale, you should use it at about the same time everyday if you want to get consistent results. I’d suggest either first thing in the morning, or right before bed time. For me, I found that I lose about a pound or two overnight (dehydration).
Setting up the app and scale was very simple, just what you’d expect. The Body Comp Scale is very easy to use, just step on the scale and it automatically measures your weight, body fat percentage, heart rate, bone/water percentage and other statistics. This data automatically syncs with the Withings Health app, and with the Apple Health App. This makes it easy to view your progress over time (and in multiple formats). You can set goals and view your progress in achieving those goals (mostly weight). It is possible to share your progress with friends and family. My bathroom floor is a white tile, the white scale looks very simple and modern on the tile floor. The numbers on the scale are plenty large, I don’t need to wear my glasses to see them.
I believe the scale is very accurate. To test this I got on the scale, got my weight, then got back on holding 2x10lbs weights, and my new weight was exactly 20lbs heavier. I weighed the weights alone and the weight was 0.1lb shy of the expected 20 lbs. And I’ve not seen any significant swings in the data it records, except for my sleep data (which it has detected reliably, but my Light, Deep and Rem sleep varies significantly, as does my Awake periods). Getting this data integrated with other data from my Apple Watch makes for a pair that plays very well together (something Apple seems to do with very few). So having used a smart scale before, this Willings Body Comp scale is a great advance in data collection. I’m looking forward to creating a lot more data over time.
The scale does require you to set up an account with Withings, and they claim all of your data will be kept confidential; no different than Apple and Apple health I’d guess. I’m quite impressed with the scale speed and data collection operations, it’s a fine piece of health equipment. I recommend it to track your health data.

Withings has iterated their advanced scales, and the Body Comp (short for Composition) scale sits at the middle of the line up, between the basic scale and the “Body Scan” top of the line model. It promises to deliver more details about your overall health, including some details about what your body is made of, hydration levels, and vascular age. As someone who is working on getting healthier and likes data, I was excited to try out this scale and get more insight into my overall health.
In the package is the scale, a set of feet for extremely thick carpet (hard floors are recommended), and some instructions. It does come with batteries preinstalled, and a pull tab is pulled during the setup process to get them working. Initial setup was straightforward, however if you use Apple Health data imports, there are several errors, the craziest being that height is somehow registered as centimeters in the foot category. I am a taller person, but not that tall!
Once connected to Bluetooth and wifi (handy so you don’t need your phone nearby all the time), it did a quick firmware update and was ready for the first measurement. Just stand on it with bare feet and it does its thing, scanning information about your body by measuring electrical currents through it. As it scans, it shows you details, ending with heart rate, which means the scanning is complete. Information is uploaded to the app and sync’d to Apple Health, if you enabled that feature.
The data is very interesting, giving you information about muscle mass, body fat, hydration, and after enough scans, vascular age. The app will start to trend this data so you can track it over time, and give you insights into areas you may want to focus on in your overall health. As a data person, this insight helps me understand where I am in my health journey and if I am making meaningful progress.
Adding another user is where things got weird. My wife wanted to also try this thing out, we installed the app and set up her account, following the instructions to set up the scale..again, which also involved setting up wifi and everything else another time. Somehow, it went crazy and reported her weight in kgs instead of lbs to the app and Apple health, which were both still in lbs! It overwrote her data in Apple Health with this incorrect weight, which we were able to correct manually. Clearly, there are still some app and software bugs to work out, and it was a frustrating experience for us.
Overall, this product has promise. It can help you get insight into your overall health in just a few seconds, and goes way beyond a typical scale. The data and trending information is very interesting, and the wifi connectivity is handy so you don’t have to sync via Bluetooth to a nearby device. Having another family member add the scale to their own account was weird and clunky, and hopefully those issues are smoothed out soon. I think that it will be a useful tool as I track my health over time, and equips me with information that will help me lead a healthier lifestyle.

Look no further if you’re looking for more insights from a scale beyond just weight. This scale may cost $$ but it has many features and insights that makes the cost worth its weight in gold.
First, the scale is super easy to pair with the app. The app is intuitive and you can complete your first weigh-in within minutes. Beyond just weight and BMI, this scale also accurately measures body composition (in 3 parts), vascular age, pulse wave, standing heart rate and electrodermal activity. More about these measurements next.
Body composition is broken out by muscle, fat and bone. And yes, this scale measures all 3 and doesn’t take more than 10 seconds to gather all the data it needs. Since it’s Wi-Fi, the measurements are recorded into your app and you can quickly see the trends on why your overall weight is changing. Is it muscle growth? Fat Mass decline? The app will tell you.
Vascular age is neat as it tells you the conditions of your arteries in relation to your age.
Pulse Wave measures the stiffness of your arteries. Stiff arteries are a sign of poor heart health.
Electrodermal activity score is an indication of your nervous system’s control of the sweat glands. The results are either “Normal” or “Low” on the scale but the app will give you numerical results and plotted against a “suggested” score.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with Withins’ Body Comp Scale. Gives me additional insights that other scales can’t give. Automatically recording each weigh-in to the app and plotting over time to show me trends is very insightful. Besides plotting my data, the app also shows me “healthy ranges” and where my data points are in relation to. The scale is also family friendly as you can set “family members” or “share” your scale with someone. I can set my kids as “family members” and I can see all their stats within my app. I “shared” the scale with my wife so she has her own app to see her data that I have no visibility to. The scale also automatically knows who’s who so the data goes to the right person. Get this scale, you won’t be disappointed.

I replaced a very, very old scale with the Withings Body Comp Complete Analysis Smart Wi-Fi Scale because my old scale was clearly inaccurate and would give vastly different readings within two or three weigh-ins. I was excited to have a new scale, hopeful to have an accurate and smarter way to understand my weight and the weight of my family living in my home.
Overall, the setup is very simple – it was able to connect to the app and WiFi with no issues. The scale itself looks upscale and very nice (no pun intended!) and has a smaller overall footprint than my older scale.
I did not score this smart scale with 5 stars for a couple of reasons:
– Accuracy: I found the accuracy to be consistent inconsistent with multiple family members. What does that mean? I stepped on the scale and it would give a final reading, maybe 50% of the time identifying the right family member. Minutes later, I stepped on the scale and it was reading anywhere between 1-7lbs different than the initial reading — and still didn’t identify it as me
– The BMI index and body comp measurements were also all over the place.
– This is a very small complaint, but the location of the screen would be so much better if it were placed an inch or two lower on the scale; I have the scale sitting up against the wall underneath hand towels and it was impossible to see the screen.
Overall, I’d score this scale as a 3/5. The inconsistent readings are concerning to me and I am not sure how accurate the scale truly is.
Tuckman –
First off all scale arrived nicely packaged. I received mine with no damage. The scale comes with batteries however you must have a smart phone or tablet to download the app prior to using the scale. This took one star off for me because the set up process was very difficult. The app itself was easy to find and downloaded. You must first update the software then my trouble began. My scale was able to find and detect my Wi-Fi however the scale could not fully update. At this point I also realized that you have to have the update to even use the scale. It is not functional unless you can get through this process. Some of the cool features that I like is it recognizes whoever it is that steps on it. Other cool stuff is that it reads much more than just your weight. When standing on ot the screen flashes though other useful measurements like muscle percentage and body fat percentage. It also measures your heart rate. A few others as well. The app keeps track of your weigh ins and you can do all kinds of other cool stuff with the app. Overall I really like the scale. I had a hard time setting it up so I recommend to patient people who want a cool scale

The Withings Body Composition Complete Body Analysis Smart Wi-Fi Scale is a very feature packed and modern looking scale.
I received the white model that fits in very well with my bathroom aesthetics. It also comes in black as well. It had a glass top and a digital display. It works off of four AAA batteries and comes with a set of carpet feet if you choose to use this on a carpeted floor.
Of course the scale can measure your weight but also can do a multitude of other measures. It can do Body Mass Index, cardiovascular assessment and electrodermal activity.
You can pair it with the app for convenient tracking and it is compatible with serval popular fitness trackers like Apple Health. You can also program up to 8 users. The app is easy to use and you can see several different measures at a glance and see the trends as they go up or down which is very useful to help you stay on track.
Now they only downside I have about the Withings smart scale is that it is subscription based. It does include a free 12 months subscription but after that it is about $10 a month. If it’s worth it to you then I’d recommend this scale if not then I’d get a regular scale.

—– SUMMARY —–
Verdict:
What sets the Withings Body Comp scale apart is its ability to provide a comprehensive body analysis. Just tracking weight doesn’t tell the whole story. If I want to gain a few pounds of muscle, I can track that with the Body Comp scale. There are many other insightful measurements that you won’t find on other scales, and the Health Mate app is rich with data. If you’re looking for insights into your well-being, consider the Withings Body Comp scale.
Pros:
– Sleek and stylish design
– High-quality and durable
– Provides a comprehensive body analysis
– Automatically syncs data via Wi-Fi
– Tracks up to 8 users independently
– App shows trends and details
– 12 months of Health+ included
Cons:
– Hefty price tag
– Health+ needs more work
—– DETAILS —–
Setup:
Setting up the Withings Body Comp scale is a breeze. With the Withings Health Mate app on your phone (available for Android and iOS), you go to Devices, then click the “+” and select the Body Comp scale. It’ll connect and start a software update. The slowest part is the software update, but even with that, the setup process only takes a few minutes.
Design:
This is easily the best-looking scale you’ll find on the market. I like the sleek design with the tempered-glass platform and bright display. The circular metal centerpiece is a nice touch.
On the bottom, feet on each corner provide grip on smooth surfaces. Carpet feet that slide over the top of the regular feet are included in the box for use on thick carpets. There’s also a battery compartment (four AAA batteries are pre-installed) and a pairing button. Withings says the batteries will last about 15 months if you weigh yourself once a day.
It’s a simple design that gets the job done and looks great doing it.
Features & App:
The Home tab in the Withings Health Mate app provides a simple overview of your measurements. You can tap on any measurement, such as Body Composition to take a closer look at the trends and details.
Up to eight people can use the scale, and it’ll automatically detect who’s using it (based on weight) and record the results on the appropriate profile. The automatic detection works well for my wife and me, but users close in weight might need to manually select their profile. Since the Body Comp scale connects to Wi-Fi, you don’t have to have your phone nearby for measurements to be recorded.
Across all smart scales I’ve seen, the Withings Body Comp seems to be the most comprehensive. For a full body composition analysis, you can track weight, body fat, water percentage, muscle mass, bone mass, and visceral fat. The scale also provides a couple of heart health measurements like standing heart rate and vascular age. Additionally, you’re provided with an electrodermal activity score, which is measured by stimulating the sweat glands on your feet. The intent is to warn of peripheral neuropathy, most commonly caused by diabetes.
Without access to medical-grade tools, it’s difficult to assess the accuracy of the Withings Body Comp scale measurements. However, the numbers seem to closely align with my measurements when I visit the doctor. That and the fact that I don’t see any unusual changes in my measurements from the scale makes me confident in its numbers.
Tracking weight on it’s own can have some benefits, but it doesn’t tell the whole story. It’s been very interesting to see measurements like body fat and muscle mass regularly. If you’re looking for a wide range of health metrics conveniently in one device, the Withings Body Comp scale is for you.
Health+:
Included with the Withings Body Comp scale is 12 months of Health+. At the end of the 12 months, continuing the subscription is currently priced at $9.95 per month. Although Health+ has some useful features, it’s not required for any of the functionality mentioned above. What it adds are programs where you can choose to focus on activity, nutrition, or sleep. With various missions that involve, advice, workouts, meal suggestions, and articles, Health+ is a habit-based approach to healthier living.
I like Health+ and think it’s a solid way to help users work towards healthier habits, but I likely won’t continue the subscription once the 12 months are up, mainly because I can find similar resources for free elsewhere and prefer to use my Peloton subscription for the workout piece. Perhaps with some more refinement and unique features, the Health+ subscription would be more enticing to me.

The withings body comp smart scale has been a really motivating thing for me.
I have struggled with weight for the last 10 years and although its not medically problematic (yet) It does make me fell bad about my health and image a lot of the times.
When I got the Body Comp scan, i didn’t expect it to do the things it does, to be honest i thought it would be like most gimmicky gadgets that ill use for a few days and then lose interest in. but I WAS WRONG.
+ Unpacking and first use took 7 minutes, the scale can be placed on hard floor or carpet with the assist of carpet boosters that are included in the box.
+ I downloaded the withings app and connected the scale as a new device, then created my profile with my DOB and weight and height.
+ once I was done i got a tip from the app that it can import data from other aps like Google Fit (which is amazing!) i gave it permission to and then over 12 years of data about weight and health was imported to the app.
+ I read the instructions and was ready to jump on the scale for the first time.
+ I went on the scale Bare foot (must do it barefoot) and it started measurements in the following order: weight, weight fluctuation for that weight session, BMI, visceral fat percentage, muscle mass, heart rate, vascular age (need 5 or more scans to get it to work and I think it needs more time to regulate), EDM, and weather and air quality then it turns itself off.
+ once you step down the weigh in session does sync with the app and you will be able to see how your health is trending.
+ the scale will know its you when you go on it by your weight and body fingerprint. if someone else who doesn’t have an account on the app jumps on, the scale will keep a record of these weigh ins until you create a profile for the other people.
Personal tips:
– I like to have my weigh ins in the morning, on an empty stomach right before i take a shower. this keeps measurements consistent.
– I also have the Withings scan watch, combining the data from the watch and the scale opens a whole new spectrum of data inside the same app which includes your EKG, O2 saturation, Sleep patterns and disturbances. I haven’t wore that watch in over a year, but now i wear it 24/7 as the data coming from the scale and the watch give me a great idea about my health on a daily basis.
with the help of this scale and how easy it is to access data I was able to lose over 3 pounds in 2 weeks and I am eating better and trying to sleep better.
when I get my measurement in the morning, it gives me will to keep my nutrition habits good and to exercise a little bit more than I would normally like.
Its the little things that you do, a 1% enhancement today will be monumental 10 years from now.
I completely recommend this scale and hope you all have a great health

Withings has another great weigh scale…the Body Comp Complete Body Analysis Smart WiFi Scale. This tracks what my previous Withings scale would track plus a few more important health measurements. The Body Comp tracks the following: weight, heart rate, muscle mass, fat mass, bone mass, vascular age, pulse wave velocity, and electrodermal activity. With the app connected to the scale, it will track all of that plus fitness level, daily steps, average hear rate, walking pace, calories burned, etc. if you allow it to access health apps on your Apple device. The app also will show you the battery percentage.
Using the Body Comp is simple, just stand on it while it takes the measurements which takes about 15 seconds. You can also set it to show you high/low temps for your area as well as air quality. There are a lot of features with this scale.
Overall, I like the quality of the scale and really like the additional features that I didn’t have on my previous Withings scale. If you are health conscience and want to be able to track your health with ease, then consider the Body Comp. Withings has done a great job adding features to this scale. I would recommend considering this if you are looking for a new scale or looking to replace your existing scale.

I’ve had a smart scale from a competing brand for about 10 years now. Needless to say, it is about time for an upgrade with new technology and capabilities. Cue the Withthings Body Comp Scale.
Out of the box, this thing looks nice. It is modern-looking with a glass top and advanced features. It features a large and easy-to-read LCD screen that displays all the essential measurements at once. While it is ideal that you use the scale on solid surfaces, it does come with “feet” to add if you need to use it on low-pile carpet.
The scale supports multiple user profiles, making it convenient for families or households with multiple users. I live alone, so I cannot really comment on the multiple profiles functionality, but I do notice it shows the first few letters of my name when I step on it. The scale syncs wirelessly with the Withthings mobile app, allowing users to track and analyze their data over time. Since I’m using an iPhone, the scale syncs data with Apple Health, which is cool because it trades data between the Apple and Withthings ecosystem.
At its core, the scale is designed to provide users with a comprehensive analysis of their body composition. In terms of weight, it is pretty on-par with my older scale. Body fat percentage is different than my older scale, but I assume since this is newer, it is more accurate – which is a bummer and means I have more to work on. 😉 The scale uses bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) technology to measure body composition metrics such as weight, body fat percentage, muscle mass, bone mass, and water percentage. The scale’s readings are generally consistent and reliable, providing users with accurate measurements for tracking their progress over time.
The Withthings mobile app is pretty good and simple to use. The app offers a user-friendly interface, allowing users to effortlessly track their progress, set goals, and view their historical data. The scale’s data syncs automatically with the app, providing users with a comprehensive overview of their body composition changes over time. The app also provides personalized insights and recommendations, making it a valuable tool for individuals looking to improve their overall health and fitness.
Overall, I find this scale to be a reliable and feature-rich option that provides users with comprehensive body composition analysis. Its accuracy, sleek design, user-friendly mobile app, and data integration capabilities make it a valuable tool for individuals seeking to monitor their health and fitness goals. While it may have some limitations, overall, the Withthings Body Comp Scale offers a great balance of functionality and affordability, making it a worthy investment for anyone looking to track their body composition and make informed lifestyle choices.

The scale itself is 5-star. I’ve been a user of Withings products for many years and will continue being a supporter of their products.
The 3-star is due to the slightly misleading product purchase page of Best Buy – and to make prospective buyers aware that it seems the white version of the scale is being sent out is the Monochrome Screen only; if you want the full color screen you’ll need to purchase the black scale to have that.

I loved the Body Fit and had it for about 4 years and it was time to replace — The upgraded screen is a plus although I do prefer recharging via USB vs batteries.

I bought this scale specifically to measure my body fat %. I workout 6 days a week. I had my body fat measured at my doctor’s office using a DEXA scan and my body fat is around 15%. This stupid scale keeps telling me that im 21% body fat. If I put it inot Athlete mode, it says my body fat is 9%. It’s so inaccurate that my gf asks me why I’m yelling at the scales every morning. So don’t buy this if your goal is to track your body fat.
