I could not be happier with this purchase! I love that the dryer senses when the load is dry and turns off. This saves power and does. It over work and damage my laundry. The putting are touch buttons and work beautifully. It’s easy to figure out the best selections for the load…the lint trap is easy to use. The only thing I would of liked that this one does not have is a steam option to de wrinkle items. Steam requires a water inlet hose directly to the dryer, so I decided not to get a dryer with steam. I can throw in a wet towel to make steam if I need to de wrinkle something. This dryer is quiet and also looks really nice. I have had this dryer about a week and have used it every day since I got it. Best Buy was awesome to purchase from! Delivered 3 days after purchase date and the delivery team was perfectly on time and very fast and professional. I am very happy with my brand new dryer! This is the first time so have purchased brand new laundry appliances and I am so happy with my choice! Whirlpool was my first choice because they have a good reputation for quality a d customer service! Plus they are made in the USA! His dryer looks great next to the matching washer! I will be stacking them to save space, but they look great either way.

We purchased the Whirlpool WGD5620HW serial number MX4702911 on Dec 5th 2020 from Best Buy. However already this month (less than two months after purchase), the dryer stopped working and a service technician from Whirlpool said it was due to a “faulty” panel. We are very disappointed that something that costs nearly $1000 is already needing a repair and moreover because of this have had to do coin-op laundry to wash and dry our clothes.

The dryer itself is excellent therefore I am rating it five stars.
The “delivery” however was a nightmare (ZERO STARS) the first two they tried to deliver were both damaged, third time was a charm. I don’t know if the warehouse is damaging them or the contracted drivers.
Best Buy made it right by compensating me with a gift card. I got a little something for my time and troubles could’ve been more but I’ll take it. I had to take time off work three separate times. As for the dryer I just put it on high and the clothes come out to dry. Have not had a need to use any of the special functions because I just have regular clothes no special garments to use any of the other settings, so I cannot rate of those features. So take my review for what it’s worth if you just need a dryer to dry your clothes this one works just fine. When you dry bedsheets they come out wrinkled but I think that goes for most home dryers especially king size bed sheets. So I’m not going to subtracting stars for that because I’m a reasonable person.

Decent, straightforward gas dryer. But note: Best Buy delivery team WILL NOT install this dryer if you’re stacking it on a non-matching Whirlpool washer. However, it fits perfectly on top of our existing Whirlpool Duet washer. But first…remove the dryer’s 4 leveling feet and place 4 rubber mats/coasters (think jar removers) at the top 4 corners of the washer before stacking the dryer. That way the dryer won’t shift. Bottom line: make your own arrangements for installation if the dryer doesn’t match your existing washer model.

Zero complaints. We love our set. Happy to be able to buy American products and have them be competitive on all fronts. (Also, how hard is it to make a thing that heats and tumbles clothes, am I right?)
Ours does both well, we basically tell it how much heat and how long to tumble and it does it. Go you dumb robot, go.
We’ve had zero issues and I couldn’t ask for more, but here’s some ways my heat and tumble robot could be smarter:
1) Auto dry sensor almost always leaves some things damp. I don’t think its the sensor’s fault because there will absolutely be at least one completely dry piece of clothing, but it’s usually like synthetic pants are perfect but 7 cotton t-shirts need more. No big deal, but…
2) If your clothes need more time when the cycle finishes, you can’t just close the door and start it again. The robot needs to think you’ve put different clothes in. You have to pick the clothes in the dryer up…and set them down to like, reset dumb robot brain. I seriously unplugged it for 30 seconds like it was my modem when it first happened. Robot needs to know you’ve at least inspected the load for dampness. Personally I am fine with this caveat. I have a lot of wool and synthetic stuff and if it shrinks in the dryer robot knows it will never hear the end of it, even if it’s my fault.
Completely happy with our Whirlpool pair, zero complaints.

I end up running it for multiple cycles over 3-4 hours just to get clothes ‘mostly’ dry!!!
I pay an insane amount for Worst Buy’s ‘total tech support’ and each time I call I end up on hold for 45 minutes or more and then have been dropped over and over!!!!

I did have a hassle installing it because I had to change the venting so it would go 3-4 feet to the left to reach our current dryer vent outlet.
We did need to find out how to change the signal when it was done drying so we could hear it better.

This piece of junk has a defect in design that allows clothes to get caught in the edge of the lint trap assembly. I ruined a brand-new shirt in it. Once the sleeve got caught, it just got twisted tighter and tighter until it tore the shirt.

Well if it isn’t trying to break I like it.
Getting ready to have the control motherboard panel switched for the second time. In less then 2 years. The soap dispenser leaks water all the way down into the bottom little tray. And the load and go dispenser sometimes fills with water and it gets stagnant. Pain in the you know what.
Almost felt over a barrel to order another one because I had a matching dryer and I already had the pedestal and the dryer‘s on the pedestal and it didn’t die at the same time.
Always buy the warranty people!
And the first year the the manufacturers warranty and that’s a pain in the butt too. I’d much rather deal with geek squad honestly.

Had to replace the solenoid 2 years after purchase which is too soon for such a new machine. The dryer stopped heating consistently a little under 2 years after purchase. I had to replace the solenoid at the 2 year mark of having this appliance.
