Whirlpool is our number 1 pick. The quality is better than other brands.
Happycustomer –
Looks great, holds a large load, lots of washing options. The spin cycle is rather loud no matter if the load is small or large; I wish it was a bit quieter.the load and go option is a nice option, less messy

I recently moved so this is my second Whirlpool washer in 4 years with the Load & Go feature. This model varied from my last one in how/where to load the detergent for this feature and I had a problem with unclear instructions in the Owners Guide so was not using my newer model properly. Load & Go detergent must be loaded in the bottom drawer for this model (my 4 year old model just used the regular detergent drawer). I wish I had understood this before Best Buy gave me a new washer after my complaint since it appears that my problem was owner error. Love the machine, even though it is ‘closet size’, which was not mentioned on the BB site, so it’s deeper and narrower than I expected but not a problem since I have space for this. Also like the steam function which works well for items I forgot to hang up right away or were folded in a dresser drawer — no ironing!

After owning this washer for only 19 months it has kicked the bucket. Repairman said the control board, overflow switch and pump have gone bad. Parts are on back order until end of March through the end of May. Very dissatisfied with my purchase. My wife is pregnant and we need clean clothes. A $1000 washer should not break after less than 2 years of operation.

Works very well. Saves water and cloths get very clean

Love it. Love the reservoir that stores liquid detergent and uses only what’s necessary.

Not receiving til a month after purchased … Was supposed to receive week after ..unsure what is going on just tired of waiting

Great washer – never had an issue getting out stains. Also very quiet compared to other washer dryer sets
JoshS –
It’s good. It’s pretty quiet. If you can, get the extension from the floor so it sits higher if your plan is to put it on the ground. It washes really well and it’s quiet. Good brand. Price is medium/high. I’ve had it for a month so we’ll see how it holds up.

So it’s been a while since I purchased this appliance but I wanted to give it a solid review. I have the matching wash machine and dryer and really like them. They are made in the USA if that means anything to you. The wash machine is excellent. I really like the detergent basket that I load up with liquid detergent and the washer uses what it needs. Says it’s good for about 40 loads and that seems about right haven’t tested it. With the machines that you pour detergent in for every load I think I was putting more detergent than really needed. The push buttons work really well on both units and there are a good amount of useful settings to choose from. Steam clean and sanitize are great options!
With the dryer there have been occasions where the clothes are still damp although this is a lot less frequent than it was with my previous Samsung. I like the eco mode on the dryer, think it helps reduce pge bill but again no proof. All in all I am happy with Whirlpool and would purchase again if needed. I’m done with Samsung too many issues and not built to last.

Love the load an go feature on this machine. Makes throwing things in the washer VERY easy.
Mdfbuilder –
It only lasted 9 months, now I will have to deal with the warranty though whirlpool. I got this one to replace the whirlpool duet which lasted for almost 10 years.

It’s only been a few weeks, but so far, very happy with this purchase. Might be better to ask for this review 6 months from now.
WhirlpoolWasher –
Delivered on time with pre-communications. Excellent install crew was courteous and respectful and carefully moved old one out and new one in. They should be recognized for their good conduct and work.
craig –
They take a little longer, to wash and dry, than my previous set did but the steam feature makes up for it.
Infiniti68 –
I’ve had it for almost a full month now.
The good is it cleans great. Clothing, full bath towels and bath sheets, bedding sheets, etc comes out way cleaner then before. It’s easy to use and has a very large tub. It’s a good looking machine (if that matters to anyone) and doesn’t use much water to work so well.
My previous machine was also a front loader (General Electric) that I purchased new 15 years ago. It still worked but it was tired. My previous Whirlpool was a top loader that I owned from new for several years before the GE front loader so I’m familiar with the brand.
The bad is that this machine is unusually loud compared to my previous much older machine. I don’t know why it has to be this loud with a near $1000 price point. Two words Whirlpool “Sound Deadening”. It’s in my garage and I can hear it from anywhere in the house. My two previous machines weren’t loud like that. It lacks some features that lower cost brands (including my previous GE) have like “Delay Start” but for a few hundred more you can get that feature on the upgraded model. It should be on this machine for the price. That’s about it for the bad. It’s loud and lacks some features it should have for the cost. Other than that it does a great job of cleaning with little water use.

The worst purchase of my life. I regret the day I saw this joke! Who changes motherboard 4 times, and still believe it is a working product?
If you decide to buy this washer, be prepared for the error messages.
I did my part to warn you. The rest is on you. Goid luck!

love the washer and service. This is agreat front loader. Buy the warranty
Rollerball –
Easy installation of washer and dryer. Very professional.
Vibration –
This washer had severe vibration problem during the spin cycle. After 3 attempts by installers to correct the problem I gave up and returned the unit.

I’ve had this washer for less than three years and it’s already broken. I contacted My local repair company and they wouldn’t even touch it. They said they have been having many problems with the new Whirlpool washers. They then recommended I contact Whirlpool to fix. Contact Whirlpool to schedule service and wait two weeks. The Whirlpool tech came and is not sure what is wrong with it. He’s going to order multiple parts to fix but he’s not sure until he takes the washer apart. One part alone with out labor is over 400 dollars. At this point it is just cheaper to replace this washer. I feel for the price tag of this washer is should last more than two years. I paid more to get this washer and now I’m left going to the laundromat every Saturday morning. Please don’t make the mistake and buy this washer like I did. Whirlpool will most likely leave a message to this comment to contact them. Unfortunately I already did this and I’m still with a non working washer.

This is a great washing machine. There is no movement with this washing machine once it was leveled. When I read about the load and go feature I thought it was silly. Now this is my favorite feature of the washing machine. I also love the controls. I love that it is made in the USA.
WhirlpoolusaMade –
I like this washer but it does take longer to click and start then my old whirlpool front load. I also find that at times it does not spin out as well. I am trying to make sure it is the highest spin level before starting.
Tomm –
Not worth the money. Delivery person refused to install.

First the Dryer went Kaput, so we decided to get a matched set. Our washer was 12 years old, so with our 22 year old dryer we stepped up to something new, even with Pedestals so ease bending over!
As with the companion Dryer, this mostly American made Washer has just enough controls, and is front loading. Seems simple to use and so far works well, cleans the clothes and no complaints.
Panthergirl –
The washer is okay. It gets the job done but I have been having problems with it shortly after I bought it and started using it. The “Load & Go” feature is good in theory but it really doesn’t work too well. The “bin” that you pour the detergent into leaks really badly in the bottom of the drawer, at the bottom of the inside of the machine, and on the floor when you open the drawer. And lately, when I’ve had large loads washing, it Suds Locks like you’ve used both the Load & Go feature AND put detergent in the top drawer where the fabric softener and bleach go (which I haven’t used both soap dispensers at the same time) and I’ve had to shut off the machine and restart it with no soap so it can finish washing the load. Whirlpool needs to go back to the drawing board and rethink the Load & Go feature. They either need to fix it where my problems don’t occur to other people or just do away with the whole Load & Go concept. Think hard about purchasing this machine because I probably would not buy this machine again. I miss my old Duet front loader that worked well for 10 years before it broke down from heavy use and I had to buy this one.
Rayray –
Excellent washer and dryer.clothes come out snice and clean. operation is super quiet also
DarDar –
I like my new washer & dryer. The only issue I have is when the cycle ends I cannot hear the ringer saying it is done.

Died after 1 1/5 years. My previous LG front loader went about 10 years before a bearing went out. Today I put a load on and I went to check if it was done and it appeared that it was. I tried to open the door and it’s locked. I then pressed the power button and no response from the control panel. Of course Whirlpool has no one in their support offices on the weekends so now I’m off to the laundromat to do my laundry so I have clothes for work and the kid has clothes for school. This is terrible and “made” in America means nothing if the product and the lack of service is terrible. Go look for a different washer and brand.
Great –
Washer was delivered and installed within the expected time. Instruction manual provided easy to follow steps so as to begin the first load of laundry within minutes of installation. I liked the various cycle and spin options that are available and easy to select. A great product.
Nayz –
Repair costs after 2 1/2 years was more than the cost of a new one so I replaced it and bought the extended warranty this time.
goodjob –
very good heavy duty nice finish wash cloth end very clean
Candy –
Love my Whirlpool Washer! I have been totally happy with it and the dryer it even better!
Minime –
Bought this cuz the old washer broke. Old washer not this brand. I like this brand much more cuz it seems to last much longer.
AndyG –
Great combo and a great price. Everything works like its supposed to.
NeuroPsyche –
Had less than a year and machine died in the middle of a wash.
becks –
Loved the product initially for the features and size. However, it is malfunctioning after just over 2 years of use. Very disappointed to have to replace a washer at this price point so soon.
BizzyB –
This washing machine is high tech, but is easy to use! I love the load and go feature…Just drop that detergent in and keep it moving!
kamanimal –
This washing machine is a great companion to Whirlpool’s large ventless dryer. The two stack very well and are stable when either or both are running. The washer has a large capacity, but still fits in a closet that is 34″ deep. For an apartment with a laundry closet, this is a huge win as it is possible to do 4 sets of sheets, an entire hamper of clothes, or 4 sets of towels in a single load. Saves a lot of time having to do one load instead of two!
The other nice feature is the load n go reservoir, which can hold a lot of detergent and dispense an amount based on the size of the load. I thought this would be a silly feature I might not use that much, but having it means there is one thing less to have to worry about when starting a load of laundry and that the use of the detergent is more efficient.
Overall, highly recommend this washer, especially when paired with the companion ventless dryer!

Water leaking, returned the item lost $150.
Do not buy.
Cymbyldesign –
Super reliable washer and dryer, previous set of whirlpool lasted over 20 years

This machine is just the right size for a family of 4. Its really quiet too.
CherylS –
We bought this washer (and the dryer) to replace our 12 year old Whirlpool Duet set (which we loved). We love the Load & Go on this washer! It holds a lot more detergent than our old set. Our only complaint with this machine is something is off with the spin cycle. It’s crazy loud and vibrates half the house. This happens with any size load. The delivery guys never checked to make sure it worked properly after installation. We have checked and it is sitting level. I do with it had a light inside the drum, but not a deal breaker.
Laundry –
I love this washer – very large and silent washer. I am happy with this product
amserf –
Needed to match my dryer. Great price. Delivery scheduling process was quick and delivery timing was as expected.
BenM –
Horrible installation experience. Wrong hoses used. Left “Y” connection hose laying on floor behind dryer. Installers Caused leak at faucet which I found and fixed. Took screws and spacers for pedestal with old washer when it was removed by another crew the week before. Stacked washer on top of pedestal with floor leveling screws and pads left on bottom of washer vs, on bottom of pedestal where they should be repositioned. Sold me a washer over a year old per Whirlpool corporate and now they may not honor mfg warranty.
AventadorDriver –
The most disgusting purchase i ever made in my life was the Maytag top loader washing machine. It does not clean anything properly. The Whirlpool top loader works great and it cleans so much better. Its very easy to use and the controls totally makes sense. I love the fact that the top row of buttons is labeled as a group WHAT ARE YOU WASHING then the buttons below is labeled HOW ARE YOU WASHING IT. Then it automatically sets up the water temp and spin cycle. Besides pressing the extra rinse button, thats pretty much it. Also i want to mention that its very quiet.
nothankyou –
Just after a year, both washer and dryer, have been serviced multiple times. Had to buy an extended warranty for both the washer and dryer. Definitely recommend purchasing from different manufacturer completely! Terrible product!
On the flip side it’s nice to see a purchased extended warranty actually come in use. Not fun to wait a week for service.

bought in spring 2022. had to replace water valve in less than a year. whirlpool replaced under manufactures warranty. Dec 2023 valves and drum motor had to be replaced-fortunately we purchased extended warranty. while replacing valves, the control boards were blown. fortunately we will get our full purchase price in credit but will probably stay away from whirlpool. too bad. used to be such a reliable brand.
