    I love my new gas cook top. I am very careful with the knobs bc I saw a lot of reviews mention the knobs melting. I love the hinged grates. Makes cleaning a breeze!

    Purchased a suite of Whirlpool appliances from Best Buy. Didn’t do much research on Whirlpool gas cooktops but was looking for the Suite Package and saw this one. Almost went with the 4 burner and instead purchased the 5 burner. So far so go. Really like the look of it, easy to clean. Haven’t noticed anything with respect to the knobs like another reviewer has.

    Upon installation it was not apparent that there were scratches all around the knobs. (see pictures) When looking straight down over the top of the knobs you don’t see the scratches. Used it one time and started to wipe it down with a sponge and looked at the knobs at an angle and saw the scratches.

    In retrospect, I was watching the installers and one of the helpers was focusing on the knobs to the left and didn’t think much of it at first. When I inspected the unit before the installers left I looked straight down over the top of the knobs and did not see the scratches. (My installer was great. Don’t remember his name. Answered all of my questions with patience. His “helpers” seemed mostly to get in the way. I don’t think he needed both of them. One would have been enough.)

    The scratches are not deep and may be superficial but it is hard to tell. Tried to rub them out with a soft cloth and Whirlpool recommended cleaner, but it did not work. If Whirlpool can “buff” out the scratches there would be no need to return the product for a replacement.

    This will have to be replaced. Appliances cost too much money to have to accept something not in perfect condition. Otherwise I would definitely recommend.

    Received my new cooktop on time, delivered by extremely efficient, young men. They helped open the box to ensure there was no visible damage. It wasn’t going to be installed for a couple of weeks, so I had some concerns that it was okay. As an aside, I’d had a sink delivered previously, and had to return it because of damage. When installed, it looked beautiful and works perfectly, so far.

    I like it. It cleans easily as the metal grates come off nicely. I thought I wanted a higher BTU cooktop. This one is good enough for our normal cooking. The “melt” setting on one burner is helpful. A very low setting, good for melting butter. If your going to boil large pots of water often, then maybe the bigger BTU is for you.

    For space it worked great. We bought this back in June and installed in September. However my issue is we have had this now for only 4 months and the knobs are not stainless steel and have already started to melt. Each knob to replace is about $30 which is ridiculous due to the cost of the stove. If i have to buy new knobs so my new kitchen remodel doesn’t look awful every 4 months, may as well upgrade to something with stainless steel knobs and NOT plastic.

    So far, we are enjoying this cooktop. Lights quickly, and it is a nice looking unit. The knobs are a cheap plastic, so I’m not sure how long they will last. The position of the bottom burners only allows for a small pan. A large pan will overlap onto the knobs. Not ideal. Also, as you see in my title, I was forced to write a check for $75 to have the installers convert to propane, even though it only took them about five minutes extra. BB does NOT disclose this, but I called and they confirmed this was the case. Ridiculous, if you ask me.

    We built our kitchen renovation around Whirlpool appliances. The refrigerator quit working after 4 months of use and we have had no true satisfaction or rectification from Best Buy or Whirlpool. The closest certified Whirlpool technician to where we live is 3 hours away. This issue is holding us up from moving into our new house and putting our current house up for sale. I truly hope that the other 5 Whirlpool appliances we purchased work out better.

    This cooktop “looks” nice but knobs and burners are plastic and very lightweight. The grates are heavy and lift up from front to back which is nice and easy to clean. But I cannot believe these knobs will last very long as much as we cook. I wish I would’ve spent more to get a better cooktop.

    Back, right burner seems to ignite randomly.
    We literally had to unplug the gas cooktop to stop the burner from igniting.
    We asked for help to repair the stovetop issue, but have not heard back from Best Buy or the Geek Squad.

    Was hesitant to purchase a Whirlpool item but I can say this was the best decision I made. The burners heat up quickly and only one burner is really a simmer/low heat burner but that’s okay because I have learned to work with it. It looks nice very easy to clean. Easy to install.
