    Functioning good so far. but parts didn’t arrive on time and the surface is easily stained

    One of the burners went out in the first week after purchase. Service guy came out and requested the part but apparently it will take 3+ weeks before they can even request a status as to where the part is. Not impressed at all.

    It works okay but a few areas are more desirable! #1. The whole thing is black, especially the knots, it is hard to see the positions.
    #2, there are about 14 bare screws protruding out of the bottom, poor design and safety ignorance which cut my wife’s hand while tried to reach for the pots placed underneath.
    #3, wrong instruction manual is placed indicating the unprofessional manner of the shipping department.

    It does give me a second thought regarding the brand on my next purchase of refrigerators!

    Amazing cook top. The only down side is that it scratches very easily. Otherwise it works very well.

    I purchased this one to replace my old Whirlpool. The good is the size for right into the countertop, no hassle there. Everything else is more less familiar. The price is reasonable, that never hurts.

    Here is a wishlist, hoping Whirlpool will improve on:
    1. Cleaning, this one is a lot more difficult to clean. Any small oil droplet will show up as a big smudge.

    2. Better indication on which switch aligned with which cooktop. The old one layout the switch position as the range, lower left corner point to the lower left range. The new one; however, line up the switch in one straight line and the little white dot next to the switch is not the most clear. I am still trying to get use to it.

    I canceled this order. It was scheduled twice. The first time was delivered but they were not able to install it. The second time I waited all morning and no-one showed up.

    My previous glass stovetop did not properly fit the counter opening, and when I cleaned it, it wiggled around, finally developing some cracks. Not wanting to use a cracked electric stove, I carefully measured the counter space, and found this Whirlpool, which is exactly the right size! I am so happy that I purchased it! I works beautifully, and looks elegant in my kitchen.

    The cooktop works well, though the automatic heat sensor has a habit of turning the burner off while on high boiling water. It appears to sense that no heat is needed. It was easy enough to install. The cooktop is a bit difficult to keep looking clean.

    We wanted to replace an old Whirlpool cooktop. This new model fit perfectly with no expensive, messy, granite cutting. It looks good and cooks very well. From our own experience and talking to others, we are confident that the mechanical temperature controls are the best choice for reliability. Not as sleek, but not prone to failure.

    Comes surprisingly well packaged. Looks great and was easy to install. I took it apart to verify the components and was pleased to find that Whirlpool used quality parts and didn’t skimp to save a few pennies. Best of all it fit like a glove! The cut out instructions were spot on. You cant go wrong for the quality and price.

    I thought whirlpool was a good brand. We remodeled our kitchen and had this put in our island. I was SO CAREFUL last night when I used it the VERY FIRST TIME. I gently put the skillet on the burner. Afterwards the burner is all scratched up! I couldn’t believe it! I wanted to cry!

    We replaced an 18 year-old electric cooktop with this Whirlpool model and it’s been great so far. It was easy to install, but there’s inaccurate information on the installation instructions about the amperage. The particular model we bought is compatible with 30A circuits; the instructions call for 40 or 50. We double-checked with the manufacturer and the printed instructions were incorrect.

    Another thing to note is that the line indicator on the control knobs are just a groove — you need to be careful that it truly points to the off side if you want the cooktop off. It would’ve been helpful if Whirlpool added a color line or dot on the control knobs.

    Everything was great except the specs say it’s 28.5” wide, it’s really 29”. I had to get the hole enlarged in my granite top which cost $120.

    My experience has been a hustle, Yesterday at 3:11 pm the third technician came in and as the previous two he reached the same conclusion of the other 2, as it turns on and off the cooktop is good. Although he said that this cooktop does not work for us. To keep a low cooking meal or to get high heat, or to simmer, those features can’t be use.
    We aren’t proffessional cooks or chefs, we just want a cooktop that works.
