This washer replaced my very old one. We bought this one based on the price and it had good reviews. The first time using it, I thought something was wrong. It seemed loud and was very easy to go out of balance. The washer will try to fix itself but after a few failed attempts it will just stop and the clothes are still wet. The lid lock is such a pain to work with. It will not unlock until it stops moving completely. You think the load is finished, but you have to wait for it to unlock. If the washer gets confused, you will need to unplug the machine to get the lid to unlock. Once it started making a grinding noise we called it in for service. Whirlpool was great at servicing it. The first visit he replaced some of the moving parts. It didn’t work, so he came back to replace the spindle. After a month a bolt came loose and it started making noise again. Service came out and this time replaced every moving part, which seemed to finally fix the grinding noise. We don’t get as many out of balance loads now. The washer finally seems to work as it was designed. However, I’m going to think twice about buying a low end model in the future.

I got this item to replace a old and very nice working machine, but, we are not happy with the way works because it takes water in automatically and works with a small amount of water and clothes get stains from the detergent.

My mother bought this about 6 months ago and it bangs all over the place and loud too. Sounds like its going to explode. The warranty and service is also pitiful. They never were able to fix it and you can never get anyone at Whirlpool to take responsibility. Will never buy anything Whirlpool ever again. Buyer beware.

I had to replace my $1k+ “fancy” Samsung washer and I had it for less than 5 years… This new washer is wonderful. It simply washes my clothes without any high tech hassle. Is it loud? Yeah, but not as loud as the Samsung. It washes clothes less than an hour. If you’re looking for a washer that washes clothes… something simple, affordable, and reliable, this is the washer for you!

We really like the dryer so far, the only issue we are having is:
When you pull up the lint trap at the top of the machine. Half the lint falls back down the hole. This has happened every time I have tried to empty the trap. Now I’m worried it will build up and catch fire.
That is the only issue we’ve had with it. It dries great.

Have been using it about 5 months. The only real problem is more an annoyance. When filling with water and auto sensing is chosen, it clicks over and over. I assume it is detecting the water level to the clothes. If you do not chose auto sensing, I think it does not click click click.

Worst washer ever. Not even two years old and second time I’ve had to call for repairs. Washer doesn’t drain, agitator gets all kinds of things caught in it. I’ve used half loads, every cycle, different levels. I use a cleaning solution to keep suds clear. Last repair cost me $300. I’m really angry. Have never had a laundry problem in my lifetime. Don’t buy it!

I purchased this washer in June, 2019 and have no big complaints about its performance. It has a large wash bin with agitator, which I like. Also, has a vast variety of HE settings that allow you to save on time and water. My only issue is that if you put any type heavier item in you have to do it as bulky sheets. I mean if you have plush towels you have wash them as bulky sheets. If you put a neck pillow in with two sets of sheets ( no comforter or anything like that) bulky sheets, or the machine will not complete the cycle. You have to cancel the process or it will run continuously, because it will not go into a spin. So you have to cancel and start over in bulky sheet setting. Washer can run for hours this way if you’re watching it.

Love my new washer! I received it as replacement through my home warranty company. I haven’t used it alot yet, but I have tried all different loads. Blankets, delicates, permanent press, and towels. All came out great! Nice and clean and didn’t take forever in the dryer (that was the problem with my old whirlpool, it wasn’t spinning well and not at all with heavy loads. My mom’s washer just went out today and I recommended this model to her.

This is the worse washer I’ve ever had. I am 57 and have had a lot of washers. When Best Buy delivered they put a scratch on it. This is the only washer I’ve had for less than 3 years that had an important part break on it that cost more than buying a new washer. I followed all the instructions, barely put any clothes in it and had a hard time getting the laundry out of it.

Bought this washer in 2019. By 2023 it needed a new control board and 4 months later it now needs to be re-wired and a new motor. This is a piece of junk. I don’t recommend buying this. I have to now buy a new washer.
