What we like- large lower freezer, easy to organize shelves and very well lit refrigerator. We also didn’t want the ice make to dispense in the door- it’s a pain if you want a lot of ice for something and the large bin in the freezer makes this very easy.

I bought this refrigerator last month to replace the one I had for 23+ years. I like the wide space in this Whirlpool French door refrigerator. I can put a big pot inside the refrigerator. It’s very practical. I also like the freezer drawer at the bottom. It provides an easy way to fetch frozen items. Overall, I am very happy to have this Whirlpool French door refrigerator.

Two stars for keeping my food cool and frozen. Otherwise I’m not happy with this item the freezer drawer closes “wonky” the plastic items on the skilled and veggie drawer are made thin and cheaply. Appliance repair cannot fix it. It’s a design flaw.

Had to return it because one of the doors was defective. Bought another one had it for 3 years and all of the gaskets around the doors are either split, broken or twisted. Thankfully I bought the 3 year protection plan. Called Geek Squad they sent ASAP Appliance to come out to repair the gaskets 3 times, had to keep calling them just to order the parts, its still not fixed.

I had a Whirlpool refrigerator that lasted over 20 years, so we got this one to replace the old one. It is quieter than the old model. The lowest shelf no longer goes far down enough to allow for storage of taller items without raising the top shelf to the highest position, rendering that side hard to use and a lot of wasted space. I did that on one side and have two, skinny areas high up on the other so that I can store my water jug. The thickness of the door compartments take up just enough room to NOT fit all the things that used to fit in the door, which means they have to take up space in the main area. And, THERE IS NO BUTTER KEEPER! I’m very short, and it’s very inconvenient to have to reach over the top basket to get to my butter, and that is high enough that it’s almost the only thing I can keep in there. We don’t have water hooked up to it, so I can’t review the water system or ice maker. OH! But the freezer divider on the top level is weird and goes horizontally, not vertically. I’m hoping the unit lasts, but I’m also still trying to figure out the best ways to utilize the space. The produce drawers are good.
