As a stand-alone there aren’t many choices but this is a good machine.

I purchased a Wirlpool dishwasher from Bestbuy and signed up for their Geek squad coverage. 1 year or so later the machine stared having issues draining and rincing. I call Geek Squad and reported the issue. After 5 missed appointments, they finally sent a local service appliance company called Superior Appliance (take a look at their reputation on yelp!). Their diagnostic was: “Your machine is not covered by our wanranty”. Meanwhile, I had to be home between 9am and 5pm for 5 days and lost 5 days worth of wages. It ended up costing a lot more then getting a new machine. It would have been a lot cheaper getting a new machine. When they try to sale you Extra coverage they promise you the world!! Geek Squad claims they will fix or change the product and you don’t have to worry about repair! You would be naive NOT to buy the coverage right? Think again!! You know what they say “when it’s too good to be true, it probably is”
There is an opportunity cost involved with every missed appointment you make with the repair service. They force you to wait home from 9am to 5pm you lost a day of work right there. In my case, the saga dragged on for 3 months!! Do the math!

The dishwasher definitely gets the job done but it’s so expensive!! We’ve only had it a few weeks so cannot say how long it will last! It hooks up to the sink easily and the dishes come out clean.

This is the 1st Portable Dishwasher purchased from a Best Buy & it’s great! It has Heavy & Normal load options plus High Temp and/or Heated Dry options. I’ve used all these options & the dishwasher does a great job. There’s also a 1 Hour Wash (no dry) that I’ve not used. It’s easy to roll back & hook up to the faucet. I particularly like the spacious silverware tray. It has many compartments of different sizes & the compartments are somewhat lower on the sides so utensils don’t stick next to each other.

I wanted to replace my previous portable dishwasher which was connected to water pipes. Neither the installer nor a plumber was able to do so. I now have to connect it to the faucet every time I use it. I would not have replaced my old one if I knew the results.

Worth every penny. Washes dishes great, is easy to maneuver around. Wish it came with more detailed instructions on how to actually use it. (I.e. How high to turn the water on, hot or cold water, etc.). Found answers on YouTube for it though.

Our replacement portable dishwasher is SO MUCH QUIETER than our previous one. This Whirlpool product is cleaning very well on both the one hour and regular cycle . The full length silverware tray is good and bad. It seems stronger than the design in the previous machine but getting the utensils into the back can be a little challenging. I am so glad we went with this product from Best Buy. and the delivery experience was also good!

i bought this Maytag portable dishwasher to replace a GE portable which wore out after many years of service. I chose the Maytag model because i liked the dish racking design better than that of the GE competitor. The Maytag gets dishes very clean and has been operating with no problems for about 8 months. we do about 2 wash loads per day.

The dishwasher is lighter than my old Whirlpool, but that is probably due to no garbage disposal in it and one less utencil drawer and not as thick spray covering for the prongs. It has smaller and lighter markings for the buttons, which is hard on the eyes and fat fingers. I would recommend keeping your old utencil drawer because the new one holds less.

Old unit broke and replaced it with this. Holds more than our previous washer, and cleans well. The heated dry doesn’t work that that well as dishes come out hot, but there is still a lot of moisture inside; dishes are not dry. Have to open washer at the end of the cycle to let out steam/moister and to get the dishes dry.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This machine does NOT heat the water. We owned a portable Whirlpool dishwasher that lasted for 20 years until it started leaking. We loved it and knew that we would only replace it with another Whirlpool. They have downgraded this machine. The heating element not longer heats the water. This was such a disappointment. It’s not a defect, but just how this machine is now designed. We had a technician come check out the machine. It does NOT clean the dishes well because it doesn’t heat the water. It doesn’t dry the dishes well either. They claim that it will dry the dishes thoroughly if you use a rinse aide, but the old portable Whirlpool dishwasher that we used for 20 years never needed a rinse aid and dried perfectly. I wish I would’ve known all of this before purchasing. The door is also super stiff and hard to close. When we received this dishwasher it was wet inside. I called Whirlpool and was told that I was the lucky one because they tested my machine to make sure it worked before they shipped it. They didn’t even have the decency to dry it out before shipping it. After the first wash it had a bad odor. That’s probably because they shipped it wet which was the perfect condition for bacteria to grow. I sure learned to avoid Whirlpool products.

Had an older dishwasher that I certainly got my money’s worth on, until it finally died. This is one of the few portable dishwashers which is what I needed right now though I can convert it later when I finally get to the kitchen remodel, haha. The layout has more depth than my old one so I can now get my stemware on the top rack. And the bottom rack takes my Larger bowls easier as well, great capacity.

The Whirlpool dishwasher works fine. But I think the hoses were put on wrong. There is tension trying to attach the hoses to the faucet. Our previous one fit better.

I can’t recommend this dishwasher. We’ve had a bunch of portable dishwashers over the years and they should last more than a year.
This one stopped working just under a year after we purchased.
We managed to get a repair guy out and he had to replace the motor. It was over heating. Now a year later the exact thing is happening, and of course with just a one year factory warranty it’s gonna be pricey to repair. A product like this shouldn’t break this fast. Stay clear.

Yeah it may be twice the price of a built in dishwasher. I hesitated on buying it because of that. But it’s a very nice machine. This model is the same size as a built in, with the rack size and flatware basket you’d have with that. Easy to attach to sink faucet, and even has a button you can push to still utilize your faucet while the washer is hooked up. Offers more “counter” space which is nice. Easily movable once you get the wheels on. I recommend it.

Have had this portable dishwasher for a month. Its interior is much smaller and holds fewer dishes than my old one. It takes two hours to wash the dishes and a little longer to dry them. This means I have to plan ahead for more than I did with my old dishwasher, which took only 1 hr. Also, the top rack really has no tilt to it, so anything with an indent in it holds water and I have to dry the glasses before putting them away.
The only positive about this dishwasher is its quietness.

We had whirlpool portable dishwashers in the past and they were wonderful, lasting years and doing a great job. When our old one started leaking and many of the rack tongs rusted out, we decided to get another whirlpool. I’m very sorry we did. The new model doesn’t wash. There is always food left on dishes even when rinsed prior. There is a film on everything so I have to run dishes under hot water after I unload. Everything in the top rack is soaking wet even when we use a rinse aid. I am so sorry I purchased this and would rather have my old rusty, leaky one back. It did a much better job
Unfortunately, I can’t even return this piece of crap because we hooked it up permanently. Our old one was hooked up the same way and worked wonderfully but this one just sucks. There always seems to be an odor in the washer- never in the old one. I have to use twice as much detergent also never in the old one. You would think things would be made better with the new model but I guess they just don’t make them like they used to. Now I’m out $750 and I have to double wash every load of dishes and then dry them and wash them again by hand. I would definitely not recommend this dishwasher and I wish I bought the GE .

This unit was recently delivered so I have used it only a couple times so far. I am not yet accustomed to the sounds of the running machine. There is a cycle that sounds like it’s trying to start several times before it finally begins. Not sure if that’s normal but dishes are clean and dry when the machine finishes.

Half the time it doesnt finish a cycle. And when it does finish, the dishes are never completely dry. The best way to get dry dishes is to shake the racks to knock the water off, and then leave the door open.

When new dishwasher was purchased, I was assured by Best Buy appliance staff that delivery staff would remove from box and attach wheels. Salesperson at Ridgedale said yes, due to there was nothing to install, just a simple setup of wheels/out of box was within parameters of delivery. Ridgedale store was very nice about price matching and I wanted to purchase from Best Buy, as a loyal customer to them.
Delivery staff arrived, contradicted the work order and were initially not going to haul away the old dishwasher. Who needs 2? Staff looked again and agreed to take, per haul away order. In the process they chipped 2 steps while bringing the old unit out of the house since they did not use straps to carry out, were not strong enough, and dropped on stairs!! I recently had new concrete driveway, sidewalks and steps installed, so you can imagine my horror seeing broken concrete!!!!!. Staff brought the new dishwasher into the house, I held the door, and before the door closed they walked out. I asked about removing from the box and they said NO, Best Buy would come to install. A portable has nothing to “install.”
Very difficult to contact a human at Best Buy and get clear answers. After an hour, since the person did not understand what a portable dishwasher was, I drove to the Ridgedale store again. I was told by the appliance department man, who had worked at Sears in their appliance department, that the charge was $25 to remove from the box and to add wheels. I told him that was new information to me and would have paid that small amount, but I was not told that. After he kept telling me the same $25 fee, I asked him to try to ring it up to see where the 1st salesperson went wrong. After repeated requests, because I wanted to solve the problem, he attempted to enter a purchase and he said there was not a screen to order haul away either, so he was incorrect and not sure what to say now. Gave me the phone number to the headquarters off 494 and Penn, to the Large Appliance Resolution Team and when I called, I ended up offshore again, in the Philippines. Called again the following day and no one knew what the Large Appliance Resolution Team was so I requested they pick up the dishwasher, I was done.
If I had the ability to remove from the box, set on its side to attached wheels and set upright again, I would have done it, but I do not.
Always have relied on Best Buy for value, customer service and great products. But the false promises, confusion of staff, Oscar at Pulse Logistics dropping the old dishwasher on the new concrete steps is significant to possibly change where I spend my money. Reported broken steps 11-30-23 and have not heard back yet on that claim. I do not expect perfection, just for people and companies to do what they promise. Best Buy dropped the ball in addition to the dishwasher on new concrete.
NOTE TO BUYERS – Allegedly the delivery program changed a few months ago, so ask questions and make a recording of the promises so you do not lose time and money on phone calls, as I have.
