    Overall, nice tv stand. but why did they make the doors so hard to install? Trying to figure this out and see if anyone here can help? I see people saying “look at the instructions on the door” but they don’t help.

    Building it was fine. Lots of steps. Didn’t like that I had to glue all the pegs (this comes with glue to glue them in place). 3 of the 4 doors are crooked and scape the bottom. I tried adjusting the doors and came to the conclusion that the manufacturer drilled the holes wrong. Really the only positive thing is it’s very sturdy.

    The box fit in my suv, but needs 2 strong people to carry inside. I assembled it all by myself except for the doors. My hubby helped with that. It’s tricky, but with persistence, it all clicked in. Make sure you open latch all the way, slide it in while button at end is held down. Let go and it should click in. Then you need to loosen and tighten the screws so that the doors hang straight and don’t rub against the bottom shelf. I love the slow close hinges and the open shelf is great for my electronics that need good ventilation. I needed closed cabinets to hide my junk and this tv stand does the trick.

    The Whalen TV Cabinet is nice and looks sturdy and sleek. It holds the TV well. But it had so many pieces to put together and took the Geek Squad guys hours to put together.

    Zero Stars.

    Garbage. I knew I was buying ‘cheap’, but I did not expect this unit to be so poorly manufactured. There is zero quality control during the manufacturing process. I had read the reviews on this unit prior to purchasing and although there were a few that mentioned some of the KD (knock down) fittings not aligning properly, most reviews did not so I rolled the dice and bought it. Bad move on my part.

    The first few pieces went together okay, but when I went to attach the 2 end panels to the bottom, both had issues. The right end panel KD posts were out of alignment with the bottom shelf cam holes by ½”. The left end panel was off by 5/16”. I had to relocate the KD posts by drilling both end panels to align everything properly. I’m in construction and actually built custom cabinets many years ago so I was comfortable doing this, but others may not be, but it was the only way this thing was going together at that point. A good quality control process would have caught this manufacturing issue.

    Once I got the unit assembled and began placing shelves, many of the shelves were not level because the holes drilled in the end panels and center dividers did not align horizontally. One shelf had the holes out of alignment by 3/8”. Again, no quality control.

    The doors were an absolute PIA for 2 reasons. Someone else had mentioned removing the hinges from the doors, mounting the hinge to the cabinet, then attaching the door to the hinge. That’s how I did it as well. The first issue is that the hinges are ‘adjusted’ to be tight against the face of the cabinet. That makes it impossible to attach the door with the hinge in the door. I moved the hinge position to allow for more room, but still could not attach it. Upon further examination, I discovered that the hinge base plates were rotated (not square) a few degrees which makes it far more difficult to attach. Again, no quality control.

    My unit is assembled and looks okay, but the quality is so poor, I’m not taking this piece of junk with me when I move. I’ll be moving in 12 to 15 months and if I can‘t give this thing away, I’ll take a sledgehammer to it and throw it in the trash. It’s not worth moving. I would strongly advise that you avoid this product. I will be avoiding ALL Whalen products in the future due to their complete lack of Quality Control.

    This furniture did not include all the parts that it was supposed to come with. It had some damage to a side panel (relatively minor), another few spots that needed a touch up pen (one of the things it was supposed to come with and didn’t), and it was missing one of the hinges to connect the cabinet. I contacted the manufacturer (like they always want you to do rather than return to the store) TWICE! I simply requested the touch up pen and the hinge that was missing. They sent the touch up pen and NOT the correct hinge (even though I was VERY specific about which hinge I needed). I called again to request the correct hinge. They said they would send it. They never did. I’m never buying another piece of their furniture again. This is why people just return things to the store.

    For the most part, assembly was OK. The doors, though, were next to impossible to put on. I had to remove the pre-installed hinges from the doors, then connect the hinges to the main body, and then, reconnect the doors. Also, the pre-drilled holes for the back do not quite line-up correctlly. There is an app that will help you step-by-step…but it’s not videos…more like computer-animated illustrations. Once it was put together, it looks nice in the living room.

    The entertainment center I purchased was very good, but a little harder to put together than I thought it would be. It would be great if it was a little bigger, however, the quality of the product was good and it looks nice in the room.

    I recently purchased this whalen cabinet for my 70” inch Samsung, smart TV, I recommend this ,it right on it was perfect . The trick is to have professional assembly done , i used geek squad and I guarantee you it’s going to look good and will be solid if assembled as directed in the manual. To add it shall be solid and will be able to serve you for a long, long amount of time.

    This cabinet looks great in terms of color and finish. My 55″ fits on the cabinet perfectly and looks great! However, I do plan to mount the TV on the wall at a later date. Most of my stereo components fit very nicely in the cabinet, except for one and the cabinet would need to be a couple of inches deeper for a good fit. Other than that one issue, I am very pleased with the cabinet.

    Took about 90 minutes from opening the box to final product being put together. Putting the hinges on was the most difficult, I chose to remove the hinges and put them on first then the doors. Overall I’m satisfied, but can’t believe furniture stores would charge $1,000+ for this same piece pre assembled. It’s a good deal to put it together yourself

    Looks good, seems solid enough. The instructions didn’t have warnings to not move the unit until you were at a certain point in the assembly process which would have prevented damaging the unit. I had to piece parts of it back together with my own fix because of the lack of information.

    This is a nice looking TV stand and is strudy. Might not handle heavy wear and tear, as it’s not made with the the highest quality materials. But regardless, it doesn’t look cheap. Plan on spending a couple hours putting it together.
