    Yes, this is “user friendly” but it gives the impression that any jo-shmo with an old VHS deck can do this. To transfer VHS properly, especially with precious family memories, you need HIGH END gear to get the best out of your footage. Software plugins to bring out the better portions of the video and audio, and a PRO VHS deck with time based correction and high end tracking. These products infuriate me with their sales pitches to make people think they can do this sort of thing themselves.

    This is a great tool to convert your old VHS or vide camera 8mm to digital format. It does not offer many options for conversion but it gets the job done. I used it to review and save videos from 2003 and then uploaded them to Youtube. It’s very simple to use although you have to play with it at first.

    I’m sure there are other programs that do the same thing but I thought this worked ok. It wasn’t too difficult to figure out & helped me get the videos from the cassette tapes to my computer so I’m glad I bought it.

    Have not had the pleasure to try this yet so really cannot give a true review yet. It does not come with a disc you have to download the software.

    It occasionally works fine but it often gets error messages and then fails to burn the dvd. I slowed the burn speed to 4x instead of the standard 8x. Didn’t help.

    A functional converter with software to handle video & audio. The supplied software looks & is a bit dated. It supports for two CD, two DVD, and two MPEG formats but no support for the .mp4 format. I wound up converting from VHS to WMV & then converted that to mp4. All in all it did the job but the extra format conversion was a bit of a time waste. I have not tried the audio converter so I don’t know what formats it converts to. I recommend it with reservations.

    Software works as described. I did have to turn off my PC Matic security before I was able to download the file. I was able to copy VHS and DVDs to my computer and able to create DVDs.

    This product worked OK. However, after updating Windows 11, the driver for the product prevents the Windows Security Memory Integrity check from being enabled. Company does not have an updated driver. See their “too bad, so sad, turn this security feature off” response by
    putting “vidbox vcd01 core isolation/memory integrity incompatibility” into your search engine.

    Used this software in order to digitize some old home videos. The quality is pretty good, not amazing, but I’m not sure if it’s due to the age of the cassettes I was transferring or if the software just can’t upscale well. overall I’m satisfied with the purchase and productivity of the software.

    The VHS to DVD 9.0 Software works somewhat. I had a few tapes to transfer. The software worked well for two tapes, but the third would not transfer as the video was not clear in the preview window.

    I recently purchased a VHS to DVD converter kit, and let me tell you, it was a total waste of money. First of all, it didn’t even come with a serial key to register the software, which is a basic requirement for any software-based product. I mean, seriously, how hard is it to include a serial key in the package?

    The setup process was confusing. The instructions were unclear and poorly written, making it nearly impossible to figure out how to use the converter properly. Immediately returned it

    We returned another brand since we had so much trouble with it and purchased the Vidbox. I called the vidbox 800 number before making this purchase and the staff were very helpful. We installed it and it worked great right out of the gate. Very pleased with it.

    Having over 30 year old VHS tapes, the DVDs burned turned out legible. Does take time to copy each tape. Anywhere from 2 to 4 hours.
