- Ambient Light Rejecting
The engraved toothed grid structure on the ALR screen’s surface filters out up to 92% of the overhead ambient light. It brings vivid colors and crisp images to your home, even during the day. - How the ALR Screen Works
The serriform microstructure on the screen’s surface rejects ambient light coming from the ceiling, enhancing the contrast and color saturation of the projected images. - Big Screen Experience
The 100″ screen, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 0.4″ slim aluminum frame maximizes the projection area and enhances the overall screen appearance to achieve a giant-screened laser TV effect. - Captivating 4K UHD Visuals
No more washed out images. Made specifically with ultra-short-throw projectors in mind, the VAVA ALR Screen Pro complements the striking visuals of the projector. - Ultra-Wide Viewing Angle
With a 160° wide viewing angle, you can enjoy bright, crisp and clear images of your movies, presentations, and photos no matter where you are in the room. - Ultra-Thin Bezels
The 0.4-inch edge gives the screen an even wider appearance — perfect to immerse yourself in your favorite shows, movies, and games. - Hassle-free Installation
The ALR Screen Pro’s foldable inner aluminum frame makes installation easy and efficient. Adjust the screen tension from all angles with a spring system to keep your screen smooth and wrinkle-free. The hooks on the struts help you mount the screen to the wall in minutes.

The VAVA screen makes my VAVA UST projector look like a 100 inch tv..wow..what a difference the right screen makes. Not as easy as it looks to assemle on the videos but not the nightmare other are to build. The next one I do will me much easier after this hands on experience. You can build it yourself but you MUST have two people to hang it on the wall.

Easy to put together but wish the mounting instructions and template were better.

WOW WHAT A ALR SCREEN VAVA AMBIENT LIGHT REJECTING WONDERFUL

The Image is too dark, (gain is only 0.6), smudged, and not a lot of improvements with the lights on compare to regular white screen

Even with all lights on, the images are really good and bright. We can enjoy the TV all day in any time.Really matches my Samsung home theater.

I purchased this alr screen along with an epson ls500 for the full “laser tv” experience, and found that I didn’t much care for it.
For starters, the screen was slightly damaged. One of the seams that the metal tension rods are supposed to go through was damaged, and looks like it was just patched back together at the factory. This resulted in the tension rod popping out of the seam, and generally making it more of a pain to put together.
Speaking of putting together. It’s gonna take you a while. I’m not super experienced setting up home theater type systems, but my roommate has experience setting up home theater systems. It took us about 6 hours to set it up and measure everything correctly. Then I had to spend basically an entire week occasionally adjusting and lowering the screen, and fiddling with the projector to get it looking ok.
The build quality is ok, minus the damages. But assembling this thing requires manually tensioning out the screen, trying to make sure no ripples form in the material. This is an annoying, tedious, and long process that will eat away an entire Saturday. Honestly, if best buy would have let me, I would have just paid someone else to set up the screen for me. But that strangely isn’t an option on these screens. Probably because they too know how much of a pain it would be.
Finally the picture just wasn’t that great. There were ripples on the screen that I just couldn’t get out. The text looked slightly blurry on the screen. And there was a strange bend at the top of the screen. It just isn’t as crisp or sharp as the reviews I had watched led me to believe.
The ambient light rejecting feature is nice, and the image came through pretty clear in the daytime. But the contrast quality, lack of color volume, and issues with black uniformity (It’s not all equally black depending on the angle you are looking at, and the height that the screen is mounted at) made it extremely underwhelming. Especially, if you are coming from a more modern line of tv’s, such as the Lg OLED series, Samsung q series (80 and up), or the Sony x series (80j and up). The trade off in terms of size to image quality just isn’t worth it at the price point. Especially since you can get a slightly smaller (about 25% smaller) 86inch q90a and have an insanely better picture and easy or paid for installation for half the price
Also, I’m not even going to bother trying to return this thing. It was absolute misery getting it out of the box, and I see no way that I would be able to ship it back. I was able to easily return the projector since I didn’t buy it with a screen combo, so I’m just gonna eat the $650 loss on this screen, and chalk it up to a lesson learned about the home theater experience. Hopefully, this review will help inform your decision on purchasing this screen. If you are a home theater type person, I honestly recommend a more traditional long through set up, with a larger screen over this set up.
My housemate would also like to add that he has a much more negative review than I do. Mainly because I had to conscript him into helping me set up the screen, and he claims it was more of a nightmare than I’m portraying.

Ordered two screens. First came slight stretched/deformed. Second came even worse with tons of warping no matter how much tensioning was done.
Both times were installed by Geek Squad so it wasn’t a factor of me trying to set up, install, and mount on my own.

Screen looks nice aesthetically and displays a good picture in different lighting conditions – and looks great with the short-throw projector; on a sidebar I have installed at least 6 projector screens ranging from 77″ – 120″ and this is the first screen I needed help installing – probably a two person job..

We always had a big screen tv. But with the windows in the room there was always a glare and at night the lights would glare. So while looking for a new tv I got into projectors. I found a UST, Ultra Short Throw projector, and then started looking for screens. When researching I found it is best to stick with the screen designed for the projector and it was more than I wanted to spend but getting 100″ screen that is made of quality products was well worth it. After all, what’s 650 vs up to 4000 dollars for a screen? Just make sure you do one thing. After assembling the frame, do NOT put the screen on until you get the frame on the wall and straight. All the calculations you make and you can still be off. Once it is up and straight take it down, it just hangs on hangers you have put up, and put on the screen. It does take some time to get the projector exact so don’t worry if you don’t get it for about a week of tweaking to fit all corners evenly. But you might get it right the first time also. I am pretty picky.

The ALR screen was purchased as a package with the VAVA 4K Ultra Short Throw projector. The screen was packaged extremely well! The instructions were very clear and accurate. Took about 1.5 hours to set up.
Point. It does take two people to set the screen on the wall.
The quality is point on and works very well in a room that has mild ambient light.

Easy to put together. Looks beautiful on the wall. I Love it. Cheapest I found. You won’t regret it.

The high-quality screen that delivers crisp and clear images with excellent color accuracy. Its motorized design makes it easy to use, and the screen operates quickly and efficiently. The durable construction and easy installation make it a great choice for both home and professional use.

It took a while to assemble the unit, and kinda tricky to hang and adjust to get all 4 wall brackets hooked to the wall mounts. This is not a one person job, you will need help hanging it up to the wall.
JorG –
Was great I. The beginning. The tension screen is wavy now. It is very distracting when trying to watch movies or tv. Not sure if I got a bad one or not, but it is very distracting.
CP123 –
Like others have said – the screen started out great but then it started to lose tension over time. This is a cheap ALR screen. I would spend more for a better quality screen that doesnt warp over time
CodyH –
Fairly easy assembly and straightforward directions – can definitely see the difference with using this screen compared to a non-ALR
