Worth the price, this thing is a beast. Love the mechanics and clean-up is oh so easy. We have put it to the test so far and it has passed. So far 4 months and no complaints, will most likely get the griddle with it to help make some homemade tortillas.

Waited 4 months and was delivered defective. Still had to install it since replacement would take another 3 months. Still waiting for parts to try to repair for the meantime. Besides the igniter continued ticking and waiting for parts, the cooktop looks great and performs well.

Black coating (paint?) is rubbing off grates after only a couple of months of mild usage. Thermador doesn’t warranty. They say cosmetic. These grates don’t appear to be cast iron like they used to be, so you can’t reseason.

This is an exact replacement for a 10 year old one that was dying. The Thermador microwave only lasted 5 years. But we are sticking with Thermador. This unit went in fairly easily. It was owner installed. Nervous about working with gas but with only one new part needed no leaks on the first try. Don’t know why but the male gas port on the cooktop was a different size than the Thermador it replaced. Worked correctly right out of the box. Very simple installation. One person installed it

Cooktop was installed last month and we have been very happy with it. We haven’t tried the ultra low heat function, yet, as the range from High to Low on all burners have been great. I do a lot of Asian stir fries, and they have come out wonderful including fried rice. The rice didn’t get burnt and didn’t come out mushy even with adding frozen vegetables! It’s pretty easy to clean once cooled off a bit. The only thing is the grills are a bit heavy but fortunately it hasn’t been often that I forget I’m making soup or boiling milk. And I have once over boiled grits and still wiped off completely using a kitchen towel and a little elbow grease!

Looks good but after just two weeks the two simmer burners stopped working. Was shocked considering the name and high price point of Thermador products. Thankfully it’s under warranty. Hope I just got a bad unit and it won’t happen again.

I purchased this cooktop from Pacific Sales/Best Buy for our new build almost 6 years ago. I loved the way it performed as I cook 2-3 meals a day plus seasonal canning. Three years in, we had to replace the front right igniter/burner. Not a big deal. However, the middle burner igniter went out 2 months ago and the nightmare began. We could not remove the venturi tube! Thermador service is non-exisistent. We live in a rural area and no one would come service it. Independent servicemen refused to touch it. So, we finally decided to dismantle it and replace the parts ourself with the help of a son who is a service tech. Great. Oh, but now we discover that there are NO replacement parts for 5 of the areas needing replaced! No small burners, no venturi tubes, etc. There is a similar model that looks just like ours except for the black glass panel yet the parts are not interchangeable. Disgusted with Thermador that I’m tossing a $1900 cooktop after 6 years doesn’t even begin to tell you how sick I am. If you want something to look at, go ahead and buy it. But good luck getting parts to replace them when they wear out!

This cooktop puts out the BTUs! The gas line itself was upgraded from 1/2” in our old cooktop to 3/4”. Gotta love the 18K BTU burner in the middle. And if you are a real cook, spend the few extra bucks and get the extra-low burners. Fabulous!

I had the same issues as another review where the grates wore down in a very short amount of time. I had them replaced 3 times and they still kept wearing down. They told me it was normal wear and tear but this image is not normal. If you want a cooktop that looks good do not buy this one.

We love this cooktop and highly recommend it. If you check my review on the Thermador freezer, you will see that I do not recommend it. 5is cooktop is completely the opposite of the freezer. It is excellent. It has all controls front and center where they are easy to reach and very functional. Burners are well laid out for high btu units and well spaced for larger pots. We paired this cooktop with a Thermador hood which will be reviewed under the hood. We like the function and look of these two units paired together. However, the hood controls are extremely
difficult to see as they aren’t backlit or otherwise easy to see. You almost have to get a light out to turn on the hood light.

We looked at all cooktops and this was the only one that protected the lettering with a clear plate by the dials, it has more surface area as well by the design others would waste a lot of space by the dials. Overall love this cooktop would recommend

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the installation service provided by Best Buy.
I have made several appointments for the installation of a cooktop, and each time, the installer has failed to show up. Despite receiving assurances and confirmations from Best Buy, the appointments are consistently canceled on the scheduled day, causing immense inconvenience.
This pattern of unreliability has not only wasted my time but has also created unnecessary frustration. I believe that as a customer, I deserve a level of service that aligns with Best Buy’s reputation

It is hard to tell if this is defective. The XLO burners make a clanking sound before the normal clicking sound when turning on a gas burner. They also make this clank as they cycle through on and off when using the XLO SETTING. I tried calling Thermadore and Best buy help lines but NO ONE could offer any help on this sound. After watching many videos about this cooktop, I found a chef giving a demonstration, and he said that this extra clank is not a defect but sounds like one. HOPEFULLY that is the case.

The new style, the one I got, has the burners on a pedestal; great idea! Love that the knobs and under a glass cover to ensure that the markings for the burner position and flame intensity don’t fade with cleaning.
I definitely am happy with the purchase and would recommend to anyone to get it, based on my experience.
