I’ve tried a few different sets of True Wireless earbuds and while most are fine for normal day to day use on video calls or conference calls for hours on end, they can leave something a bit wanting in the realm of true depth of sound given their small size. Technics seeks to fix that with these HiFi premium earbuds and I would say they’ve mostly succeeded. The sound IS much better than the other earbuds I’ve tried (think several major national brands) and it makes a real difference in listening to music or watching a movie using these versus using competing options. They’re not QUITE as good as a full set of studio headphones but they’re much easier to carry and use, particularly when traveling.
The setup, charging and pair experience is quite easy and they come with a number of different ear-side tips for a good fit in most ears – I just ended up using the medium sized options that come pre-installed as those felt the best in my ears. Battery life seems to be good so far and they also work well for conference calls with good noise cancelling and clear audio in both directions. They appear to be well built and look like they’ll be durable / usable well into the future.
Perhaps the only downside of these is that they’re somewhat bigger than other earbuds (and, of course, somewhat higher priced) but the size is used to generate the deeper richer sound and seems like a small trade-off. So if you’re a music fan that uses your wireless headset both for work and pleasure, then these are a great option to try – give them a try today!

TLDR: I’ve been fortunate to be able to test headphones from nearly every manufacturer. These rank as one of the best I’ve tried.
INITIAL SET-UP
The Technics app is very simple to understand and straightforward. I tried it on both my iPad and my Samsung Galaxy phone. The app performed flawlessly on either device. That can’t often be said for some other vendors, so Technics deserves kudos for doing a great job of making an app easy to use and functional on various platforms.
USE
I tested the new Technics earbuds with nearly every music genre imaginable. I tried a bunch of different music styles: Rap, Rock, Classic Rock, Hair Metal, New Country, Classic Country, Beethoven, Bach, Hip-Hop, Oldies. You name it, all courtesy of Amazon Music in HD or better. These Technics nailed it. Their music reproduction and clarity rivals ANY of the other manufacturers I’ve tried. Mids and highs are transparent and energetic. The built-in amps never felt strained or overburdened, even during loud passages. These are one of the only headphones or earbuds I’ve tried that made me stop multi-tasking just to listen to them. Their effortless mids and highs are crystal clear with no hint of muddiness. Vocals are clean and crisp and quite honestly, these ear buds offer some of the best detail and clarity I’ve ever experienced.
Movies were impressive, but this is where the Technics gave up some of their magic. Yes, vocals and audio were pristine and easy to understand. But they were so clean that they did give up some of the immersion I get from Technics competitors. The movie soundstage was just not as immersive and enveloping as other products on the market.
Active Noise Cancellation has proven to be very good. Easily drowning out ambient noise around my office and home. Technics claims 7.5 hours of battery life per charge, and I found that to be about right. Listening to music, often at loud levels, I lost about 20% battery life in around 1.5hrs. Not bad at all considering the volume at which I was listening at and using ANC. The provided carrying case allows for up to 25 hours of use before a full recharge is needed.
NEGATIVES
The only real fault I can find is in the bass response. Technics lists the overall frequency response as 40Hz to 20kHz. That leaves some on the bottom end that is untapped and unobtainable. This is the one time that Technics’ competition makes up some of the ground they have lost to these excellent buds.
CONCLUSIONS
There really isn’t anything not to like about these ear buds. Technics has produced an excellent product. A product that is so crisp and detailed, it caught me off guard when I first tried them on. All the latest tech specs are there too: Bluetooth 5.3, ANC, Multi-Device Pairing, LDAC support, Hi-Res Audio Support, Wireless charging.
At the end of the day, do the Technics have what it takes to take over the top spot in my current headphone and ear bud selection? The answer is YES. While other buds or headphones do movies better, NONE of my others have the detail and clarity in the mids and highs that the Technics provide.
There are some products that deserve the praise, some that don’t. The Technics AZ80’s in one product that deserves the high praise.

During the first quarter of this year Panasonic Technics has realized to premium ANC true wireless earbuds namely the AZ80 and the AZ60M2 models. While touted as”siblings” each model provides premium quality audio from Panasonic. This review will focus on the Panasonic Technics AZ80.
The Panasonic Technics AZ60M2 is the “elder sibling” of the two but is very similar to its “younger sibling”. The major difference between the two models is that the the AZ80 has 10mm drivers whereas the AZ60M2 has 8mm drivers. Out of the box and once paired to your phone, the delivers a wide soundstage outright which is already a good sign.
But what is impressing me outright are the customization features available via its app where you can download either for iOS or Android. And if you have an Android device, the sound codec used is LDAC which is a cut above AAC if you use an iPhone. Unfortunately, I no longer have an Android phone which supports LDAC. But AAC out of the box paired with my iPhone is already impressive.
So for the customization, first there are seven pairs of earbuds whereas the industry standard is just having three pairs. But to top that, the app boasts of selecting the best earpiece option which makes which earpiece more “scientific” according your hearing and ear fit. And like most premium earbuds it has custom controls for the level of ANC used and also its transparency mode levels. But to further control the audio output, audio-presets are available and a custom equalizer is also available to perfectly suit to your audio preferences.
Call quality of the AZ80 can be tested within the app. You can test your voice as what can be heard by the party you are talking to. This is a mixed bag for me since my initial use resulted to mediocre call quality. Nonetheless this works.
Battery life is rated at seven hours with a total of around 24 hours with the use of the charging dock which is pretty much standard. Likewise, the charging dock uses USB-C instead of the older older USB-B standard. But to add, the charging dock supports wireless charging which is nice.
Other features the AZ89 has is its find feature. Just in case you misplace them you can use audio beeps to locate your “lost” earbuds. But on top of that, in case you left your earbuds in another location, you can see the location in a map similar to find your device options found in iOS and Android devices.
Overall, these are great earbuds and I would recommend them to others. But this makes me wonder if it is still worth the more expensive AZ80. But if you want to the beast what Technics can offer, then this is the earbuds for you.

Panasonic Technics is a premium tier audio brand. These are one of the newest earbuds in the market and wow, they have blown my expectations away. The price is a bit on the higher side, but the earbuds do come with some premium features many other flagship headphones do not have and to an extent, justifies the price. In this review, I will explain my thoughts on the Panasonic Technics.

IN THE BOX/FIT:
In the box, you get the earbuds in a sleek matte black case. The top has a brushed metal feel and has the Technics logo in gold. The earbuds themselves also contain a similar look with the brushed metal and Technics logo on the top. While I like how the earbuds feel, I would have preferred completely black earbuds without the logo. The logo is nice touch, but I do like more of a low-key look rather than a logo plastered on top which screams “look at me.” There are also extra ear tips, a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, and some documentation.
These are comfortable earbuds. On a scale from 1-10, I would place these at a solid 10. These are up there with some of the most comfortable earbuds I have ever tested. There have been times where I have had these in my ears for a couple of hours and no discomfort was ever felt. Another plus is that these don’t fall out of your ears easily when moving around. It is rare to find earbuds that fit perfectly in your ear, and these are one of them. If you do get these, I recommend playing around with the different sized ear tips to find the “perfect” fit. I also like how both the headphones and case have some material where fingerprints won’t be an issue.

SOUND QUALITY:
In terms of sound, these earbuds sound amazing. If your phone has an option for Dolby Atmos or LDAC, I certainly recommend you enable the setting. Music, movies, podcasts sound 100% better when these modes are enabled. Lows, mids, and highs are all balanced and not one overpowers the other. I’m a bass head with certain genres of music but I do listen to some genres where bass isn’t the biggest focus and having a balanced sound is preferred. These earbuds allow for just that: balance!

AUDIO CONNECT APP/OTHER FEATURES:
While the Audio Connect app is optional, I do recommend it since it will unlock many features that can enhance your listening experience. Some of the features that can be accessed within the app are EQ settings, switching between ambient and noise cancelling modes, renaming headphones, enabling LDAC, and more!
These earbuds can be connected to three devices at the same time which is certainly impressive. Switching between devices was seamless and no issues arose.
An underrated feature is the call quality. I have used these for work calls, and they do sound fantastic. No complaints in the call quality area!

POSSIBLE AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT:
An area where I thought these earbuds could be improved upon is the noise cancelling feature. The Technics don’t have the best NC for premium earbuds. I have tested out cheaper earbuds with slightly better NC than these. Nevertheless, the feature is still good, but I did notice more sound being allowed through with the Technics compared to others.
Another area is the case. These earbuds are considered “premium”, but I felt the case did not get that same love that the earbuds did. I have tried out a myriad of earbuds and the plastic case for the Technics have the same quality and feel that some of the cheaper brands have. $300 is a lot for earbuds so as a consumer it would be nice to get your money’s worth.

CONCLUSION/TLDR:
Overall, these are an excellent pair of premium earbuds. You will be getting your hard-earned money’s worth with these for the most part. There were some minor features that could have been better but honestly, I know many will enjoy having and using these. If you are someone who is looking for premium earbuds with plenty of great features like multipoint connection, LDAC, and wireless charging, these Technics by Panasonic are a perfect choice.

I really like the ear buds…
Setup was really fast. After initial charge of about 4 hours. I have 2 phones. Both android and it took all but a few minutes to do.
After impaired both phones user interface was super easy. From noise cancelling to pass through. Percentage of pass through and noise cancelling was good.
Sound quality of music and phone are all superb.
I love the fact that you can connect more than 1 device to these headphones. More devices should do this. Super convenient with a personal phone and work phone for those that have this setup.
I have nothing but good raves about this device. Including about 4 days worth of use with a fully charged holder and ear buds.
So not here are some of the quirks.
Pass through mode:
a) when you are in your car and close the door it has a bit of a low frequency bump that can rattle you if you are not used to it
b) from ambient to answering calls and hanging up calls there is a switch over that occurs and it momentarily goes to noise cancelling then back to pass through. This can throw your balance off.if you’re not used to this either.
Button and swipe functions are easy to use on the buds.
Nice color.
They are a bit bigger than other brands but did well in staying in my ears and held long charge.
I like these. Been using these for over 2 weeks now.

Technics again made really great headphones and were very impressive. Sound great and has deep bass. Cleararty was amazing. Short of the review, The $50 “Premium” price doesn’t seem to warrant much over the Technics HiFi True Wireless Earbuds without the Premium.
Out of the box was a nice experience with instructions showing you how to set up the headphones. There is a QR code that you can easily open with your camera app to download the technics app for your phone. it was quick and fast to set up the earbuds according to the directions in my case. More inside the box are warranty and other information about your device. a very short USB-C cord is supplied and so are earbud replacement tips.
Using both pairs of Technics I feel as if they are the same. With premium materials on the earbuds on these. That is not to say that these are bad earbuds, At the start of the review I talked about how they have deep bass and great sound quality which they have. They are nicely designed as the other pair and fit comfortably as well. However, there is not something you can use for activities such as sports. Enjoying my day, relaxing, and cooking using these how every was a better enjoyment around my home.
What a nice feature is wireless charging on the case so you can set it down to charge while you do other activities in your life. 3 hours extra with the charging case / 4.5 hours of battery life with Noise-canceling / 7.5 hours without Noise-canceling. Excellent amount of battery life to listen to all my favorite artists. when placing earbuds inside your ear, make sure the “Technics” logo is right-side up.
As a tester of both products; the $50 extra here doesn’t seem to do much for me. Of course, there are other earbuds out there with this price tag but if you looking for other manufacturers there is nothing wrong with these at all. I like how they feel inside the ear, they sound good, and they are “premium” but I would go for the brand without the premium. Panasonic knows sound so I suspect this isn’t their last go around with earbuds. Eventually, they will get it right in this category. 3 out of 5 stars.

If you’ve ever experienced noise cancelling from a lower cost IEM you’ll find it adequate. Step it up to a higher quality set of buds and the difference is night and day. The Technics completely cancel out any droning buzz in the background to where it’s barely audible, but voices seem to still come though rather clear. I’m not sure if that’s a feature or bug. No amount of tuning can take away the voices coming in. I actually prefer it this way since I can still hear if someone’s trying to speak to me.
The fit is very comfortable. I have too many buds that make my left ear a bit sore after a hour of use but the Technics lasted three hours with out any discomfort. That alone makes them my favorite buds to wear.
The sound quality is excellent but turning on Bass+ can get a little muddy at full volume. Even at lower volumes the bass leaning profiles aren’t my cup of tea. I actually found Dynamic to be my favorite preset. Even my own custom settings weren’t good enough for me to change from the preset. It has the right balance for vocals as well as instruments and enough bass to keep me satisfied. I listen mostly to Golden Age Hip Hop so vocals are just as important as sound. Everything comes out clean with no clipping or distortion even at full volume.
The bud support LDAC but you lose multipoint connectivity if you do. Neither really gets too much use from me since I don’t have any LDAC devices and I mostly use one device at a time. I probably should try playing with this feature some more just to see how I can fit it better into my usage patterns.
I’ve gone through a good amount of IEM’s over the years and these Technics have not become my favorite. Although the noise cancelling isn’t the best it’s still better than what I get from my lower end buds. The fit and audio quality is what makes them take the top spot.

The Panasonic Technics – Premium HiFi True Wireless Earbuds are an excellent pair of earbuds, if you ignore the HiFi claim you will not be disappointed with these earbuds at all. These are fully wireless, allowing you to use both or just one earbud and have full functionality, they are not wired and they do not require a main earbud to be in to work properly. Controls are on both earbuds with touch controls allowing you to turn the volume up/down, fast forward or reverse, and to skip forward or back. My only complaint with the touch controls is that they are a bit finnicky and extremely sensitive allowing accidental touches to pause whatever you are listening to.
I have seen some reviews talking about how these aren’t truly HiFi, which I think was a mistake of Panasonic including this buzzword, these are Bluetooth headphones and are therefore limited in quality by that connection method, they sound really great, but if you are into “HiFi” then no of course these will not meet your standard for quality. But, I think for most people these are amazing earbuds and I think Panasonic did themselves a disservice by adding in the HiFi nomenclature and they would have been fine keeping that buzzword out and people wouldn’t have anything to complain about with these because they really are amazing earbuds.

I’ve been using the Technics AZ80s everyday now for the past week and a half. Out of all flagship earbuds I’ve owned in the past, these are by far the best sounding earbuds I’ve had the pleasure of using. However, do bear in mind that if you’re looking for headphones that produce loads of maximum volume, these AZ80s are not it. While they produce a respectable level of volume, these earbuds are more geared toward providing a premium Hi-Res wireless audio experience. What you end up with is a very balanced and optimally tuned soundstage. Not only do these sound great, but they’re also feature packed. They have some of the best ANC I’ve ever used, multi-point connectivity, great battery performance, support for SBC/AAC/LDAC codecs, IPX4 water resistant (for earphones, not the case), a plethora of earpiece sizes and shapes to find the right fit, and a supported wireless Qi charging case.
In terms of the audio performance, on the default EQ setting (i.e. “Direct”), you get a very wide and open soundstage. Vocals are incredibly clear and rich, treble & mids sound crisp, and the bass is perfectly balanced (punchy bass with a decent level of depth). While the default EQ preset is perfectly suitable for most music genres, the Technics “Audio Connect” application is a must download on Android or iOS due to the copious amounts of customization options available. I’ve used these earbuds extensively with my Samsung S22 Ultra. If you’re on Android, then you’re in for a special treat; LDAC enabled audio! In order to enable the LDAC codec I did have to enable LDAC in the Audio Connect app first. Only then was an LDAC toggle option available under my “Bluetooth connection settings”. Music with LDAC enabled on my S22 Ultra plus the Technics AZ80s is a match made in heaven. The music genres I’ve listened to the most while using these AZ80s has been electronic/techno, country, hip hop, metal, classic rock, jazz, and classical. The EQ presets “bass+” and “super bass+” complemented the electronic/techno and hip hops genres perfectly. For classical, country, and jazz, I loved the “dynamic” and “treble+” presets. The result was a a very clear, clean, and open sound stage that really allowed me to discern the different instruments. Of course, you also have the option to create your own custom EQ presets. I’m a huge fan of “Multipoint” feature with these AZ80s. They allow you to have up to 3 bluetooth devices paired at the same time. As far as I know, these are the only earbuds on the market that allow for up to 3 devices. Do bear in mind, however, that having LDAC enabled only allows for up to 2 devices. Switching between multiple devices was flawless for me. I noticed that for the most seamless transition, it helped to pause or minimize whatever content I was listening to between switching over to another device.
The fit of the Technics AZ80s on my average sized ear canals are very snug and comfortable. In fact, these might be the most comfortable in-ear headphones I’ve used. I was pleasantly surprised as they are fairly large earbuds in comparison to some other earbuds on the market. I’ve taken these to the gym and have done resistance training, I’ve ran with them, and I’ve also rowed with them. I’m happy to report that these are great workout companions that shouldn’t fall out of your ears so as long you choose the correct earpiece size. Also, since they’re IPX4 certified, getting sweat on them wasn’t a concern. Technics includes 7 different earpiece silicone sizes all the way from various extra small sizes all the way to extra large so that you find the most comfortable fit as well as the best seal for ANC. Speaking of ANC, it is bar none the best ANC I’ve experienced on any in-ear headphones. Not only did it do a fantastic job of drowning out all the background noise around me, but it allowed me to customize the level of ANC that I wanted applied to my surroundings via a slider wheel on the Audio Connect app. The same goes for the Ambient Sound settings which allows the earbuds to detect natural voices around you and emphasizes those sounds over your music. This is such a useful feature for me at work as I tend to work with earbuds on. This allows me to hear my co-workers if they’re trying to get my attention which also beats having to pause the music or take my earbuds off.
These Technics AZ80s have proven to be the complete package for me. Not only are they the best sounding earbuds I’ve heard, but they come packed full of premium features that are useful for my everyday life such as ANC, multipoint, and their versatility in the gym. They also have a long battery life providing up to 7 hours of life (real world use for me with LDAC enabled and high volume was more like 5 to 5.5 hrs) plus 24 hours of backup battery with the charging case. The charging case is also Qi certified so it can be charged wirelessly! A 15 minute “quick charge” session also provides an additional 70 minutes of playback! If you’re looking for a premium audio experience in a portable form factor, I highly recommend checking these out.

I really like these earbuds. I often have problems with earbuds falling out of my ears when I’m active. The Technics – Premium HiFi True Wireless Earbuds with Noise Cancelling earbuds do NOT fall out nor do they move positions in my ear. They are so comfortable. They do NOT make my ear itch like some earbuds do. I must really have strange ear canals as I seem to require a different size earbud pads in each ear. These earbuds come with a total of 14 pads so it was easy to find the ones that not only fit comfortable but also worked well with the noise canceling benefit.
I wish the light that tells if they are fully charged stayed on when I open the lid of the charging case. There are two lights that come on immediately upon opening but one goes off in just a few seconds. I have to look quick. The case and the earbuds are easy to charge with the enclosed (very short) cord. It does not come with a charging block but m phone charging block worked perfectly. The case is light enough that I can just leave it hanging in mid-air when charging without any problems.
The sound is amazing both when talking on phone or listening to music/podcasts. So far it has been water resistant as I wear it when I sweat and in light rain showers. Being a gal my shoulder length hair does protect them some from sweat and rain. These are perfect for wearing when I’m cleaning and don’t have my phone on me. The company says the Maximum Wireless Range
33 feet but I have no idea. So far I have had no problems with cutting out or disconnecting when my phone is in an other room. I am well pleased with these top of the line earbuds.
They were easy to set up and sync with my phone using the free APP. Oh yeah and they come with a manual which is rare these days. I did need a magnifying glass to read it though.

The Technics EAH AZ80 earbuds feature high-resolution audio (LDAC), great noise cancelling and just my voice technology for clear phone calls. These earbuds are able to connect through Bluetooth to three devices at once. There are 7 sets of ear gels including 2 shapes of small and 2 shapes of extra small. As a guy with big ears and small ear canals I appreciate the extra small size. Right out of the box, these quickly and easily paired with my phone and sounded great. The soundstage feels wide, deep and very quiet. The app offers tone control and sliders to control the amount of noise canceling or ambient (outside) sound allowed through depending on which mode is chosen. There is also an off mode that does not allow either the noise cancelling or the ambient sound. The noise cancelling works well in noisy restaurants. The ambient sound function is great when I’m on my bicycle. I can listen to my music and still be aware of sounds around me. After a number of phone calls, nobody on the other end could tell I was using earbuds. After playing with the earbuds for a while I wondered if my phone was properly set up to play the high-resolution files. It took a little research to see that my Android phone was not configured to play the LDAC format. A click box in developer options enabled LDAC. My phone has MP3 files in 320 KB/s. My desktop has WMA lossless files in up to 940 KB/s. Both sets of my recordings sound great on these earbuds. I switched over to a high-resolution streaming service and found that the high-resolution files sound amazing. Some of the files I heard were labeled Dolby Atmos, dimensional and the like. While I see no claim that the LDAC codec properly decodes these dimensional files or that these earbuds are designed to reproduce dimensional effects, I did detect some dimensional effects in some of those files and at any rate, they sounded fantastic. These are my new favorite earbuds!

Letting you know up front that the bar is high for my headphones. I’ve been using Master & Dynamics MW07 for the past five years and probably checked out five different headphones between now and then but have yet to find something better. This may finally be it.
Additionally, the following review is a near exact copy of my review of the AZ80 model as there’s nearly no difference between the two. The differences are that the AZ80 has gold lettering on the case/buds compared to AZ60 having silver. Additionally the AZ80s has three-point connectivity compared to only two-point connectivity with the AZ60s. What that means is that you could theoretically be connected to your laptop and phone at the same time with the AZ80s, but you could only connect with one device at a time with the AZ60s. That’s it as far as I can tell.
Out of the box, the packaging is sleek and simple, nothing outlandishly fancy but nice enough where you know you’ve bought a modern product.
The case is smooth, not overly heady, and the headphones seemingly came pre-charged which is always a bonus. As is expected for headphones of this caliber, there’s an accompanying app to download, but it’s worth it. Setup surprisingly took 5-10min which isn’t the end of the world, but mostly there’s a firmware update that took a few minutes before you’re off to the races.
Once connected, I just turned on Spotify and let whatever was already playing continue on. IMMEDIATELY I noticed how filling and clear the sound was, something that’s hard enough to achieve but even harder with small wireless earbuds like this. If I didn’t know better, I would’ve assumed this was some high end, expensive pair of headphones. Really good stuff.
The headphones were snug, fit well, and comfortable. Note that they also come with six additional rubber attachments from XS-XL if you’d like to easily swap out ear pieces for something more comfortable.
The headphones also last surprisingly long, roughly around seven hours, depending on if you’re using noise cancellation or not (I do). Once they’re dead though, you can pop them back into the case which seemingly charges them back up to full in about an hour, and the case itself will hold 3-4 full charges. All in all, this was impressive as my normal headphones had a simile sound quality but struggled to last more than two hours. One of the major highlights when it comes to charging is that this supports wireless charging as well. Just set the case on a wireless charger and you’re all set. Very easy.
They come with very simple touch controls for wanting to skip songs, pause, turn volume up/down, etc. There’s also an entirely different set of touch controls if you’re using these to make phone calls which I could recommend as they’re not only very comfortable but the both the outgoing and incoming audio sounds great. Additionally they can tell if you take one out of your ear and will pause music if that’s the case.
One thing that made these stick out more than most thought comes down to the app which has more customization options than I can recall. They’ve got options to control the bass, treble, etc as most do, but they also have options to change what the touch controls do. They have sliders to determine how much or little noise you want to come through, and one of my favorites is “attention” mode where you can clearly listen to music but it also picks up on voices nearby so you can clearly hear people without taking the headphones off. It’s a no brainer.
All said, I’m gushing about these and recommending them. Between the ease, compatibility, connectivity, sound quality on everything, and customization, it’s a no brainer that I’d recommend these. Honestly, unless you need three point connectivity, save the money and get the AZ60s over the AZ80s.

The Technics Premium HiFi True Wireless Earbuds are a good set of earbuds to be use daily. You are able to take calls on them and the sound quality is great. The case feels solid, and they hold charge amazingly well. Only issue or recommendation is do not use them to exercise they do not do well with sweat. The build quality and details of the design speak for themselves on how well built these are. They come with 7 different options for ear fitment and feel very comfortable. Paring is very simple and the app makes it so much easier, not to mention the additional options that the app allows you to personalize your listening experience. The noise canceling works to perfection, and may be adjusted using the app. The weight these have make them feel like a solid build. The case is small enough to fit in your pocket and makes it so simple to carry around and just have it available when needed. The case itself will hold charge and charge you earbuds back up when not in use, extending the battery life even longer.

I am always looking for a good set of earbuds as I tend to wear them out quickly. I am always on the go and can be wearing them for 8 hours straight for business / personal use. I decided to try these out as I have always been a fan of high quality earbuds. I am glad I did as I was impressed with the ease of setup and comfort level within my ears. The packaging was nice and simple which I like incase I ever need to take that box with me for whatever reason. The earbuds were very easy to setup with the the app downloaded from the google store. I use a Note 20 Ultra and did not run into any problems with the setup. They include a ton of different size earbuds to allow for comfortable fit although I ended up wearing the standard medium ones. The sound quality was very impressive and has an array of setting to improve the sounds. I really like how you can customize EQ to the way you normally use the earbuds. I do wish there was a way to save individual EQ settings depending on what the usage will be for the day. The noise cancelling was very impressive and customizable which was awesome! During drives I can max out the noise cancelation then when in a noisy room set it down to medium or less depending. The app also shows battery levels for the earbuds and charging case. Overall I am very impressed at how easy it was to use the app and how much customization it allows. I definitely recommend trying these !

As I’ve said in other reviews, I love the Technics line and feel like you know you’ll be getting quality with it. That is absolutely the case with theses earphones, but the difference here is, I also had the opportunity to try the model one step (half a step maybe?) below these (AZ60). Here’s the thing, there’s a noticeable price difference between this and the AZ60s, but not a huge difference in the specifications between the two.
The main difference is the driver size which is 8mm on the AZ60s and 10mm on these (AZ80). Yes, the larger driver size is meant to produce stronger sound waves. But keep in mind that every other spec between the two models is the same, plus the same features (noise canceling, water resistant, controls, app, etc.)
With all of the above in mind, these earphones produce excellent sound (calls are clear and crips and music is deep and almost seems to flow through you as you listen). They have a sleek design, easy setup/connectivity, and a cool app that works as expected. BUT all of that is offered in the AZ60 model as well. I have owned a lot of different speakers and headphones, and frankly, I really don’t hear much of a difference between the two models. With that in mind, these are fantastic earphones that produce the quality of sounds you’d expect from Technics, but I don’t think they are better or offer enough of an upgrade to the AZ60 to warrant the price difference. So, while I recommend the product itself, I would also recommend the AZ60 over these, the AZ80 model.

Even though the AZ80 is not its first foray into the true wireless earbud market, the Panasonic Technics is not the first brand that comes to mind. Even though a lot of people know about the “iconic” Technics turntables that are still loved by DJs for quite a long time, regular people hardly know that Technics also sells audio gear for daily use (and also that Panasonics owns the Technics brand). And while that may be the case, after using the Panasonic Technics AZ90 earbuds for more than a few weeks now, all I can say is I’m so glad I picked it up. TL;DR: they are now my go to earbuds for regular use.
The price point the AZ80 targets is in the “premium” range, and there are a lot of incumbents who have been delivering very good products for the last few years. And unlike me, most people prefer the ubiquitous white stems by the unnamed fruit company. Panasonic chose a hard battle to fight and instead of taking a shortcut like being super cheap and providing an OK or average experience, they delivered a very well rounded package. All the features that are provided and all the controls that I was able to fiddle with made sense and gave a hearty experience.
The build and finish is very good and when I picked it, I felt right away that this is a premium product. The black case, which also doubles as a charger, has a top lid with a brushed metallic finish, with an adornment of golden Technics logo. When opened up, the earbuds are presented, locked in position with a decent amount of magnetic force. Again, the golden technics logo is engraved on a touch-surface that has a CD-like circular texture. Being a popular turntable maker, it’s a nice touch from Technics to remind us of the bygone era of CDs. Multiple pogo pins stick out from the case and take care of charging when the earbuds are snapped back in the cradle with a satisfying click. The case can be charged via the USB-C port (a short USB-C to USB-C cable is provided in the box), and also supports Qi wireless charging. For notifications/status, 2 LEDs, one of which can be seen even when the case is closed, lights up in green and red.
The earbuds themselves are not the smallest I have seen. The in ear type nozzles are sized just right, but the rest sticks out a bit on the ear concha. Again this is the lightest unit out there, but after getting used to it in a day, I didn’t really notice the size or the weight in any manner. These do not come with fins, but for most activities (including moderate running/jogging), rarely did they fall off my ear, especially after I got the right fit. And what a load of options Technics provide in the box – even though all are silicone ear tips, there are 7 pairs of them to choose from.
After getting my fit figured out (which was also helped by a measurement option via the Technics Audio Connect companion app), I went through my favorite playlist on Spotify. And boy oh boy was I pleased. I’m not an audiophile by any means, but I like to enjoy my music. And even I’d always prefer my open-back planar magnetic headphones given the chance, for on the go wireless solution, the AZ80 trumped almost all my previous true wireless earbuds. The sound is crisp, clear, with a decent soundstage (given its form-factor), and overall well balanced. I listen to a lot of metal, rock, while also lounging back to classical ones when I’m relaxing, and by tweaking the EQs, I was able to get a perfect balance for my taste. I didn’t find the bass to be muddy, or the high-end to be too harsh – the AZ80 brings clarity, at least to my ears, for most genres. Again music and sound is such a subjective matter that one’s man trash is another man’s gold (in the very extreme case), but after letting my family and some friends have a listen almost all commented that it sounded good to their ears.
My weeklong endeavor continued thanks to the claimed 7 hours battery life of the earbuds, along with “up to” 24 hours total by using the charge case. With multipoint (2 device) and LDAC enabled, along with ANC set on I was able to get around 6 days of usage before the case gave in. Strangely, when the case got to 0% charge, the earbuds were also depleted very very quickly (even though they were off). Typically charging up the case, from empty to full, took around 3 hours.
The controls, both on the earbuds touch surfaces and the companion app, provide a lot of flexibility. There are numerous things that can be done by tapping the surfaces in different ways, which I needed some getting used to. But once I got the hang of it (and tweaked it a bit the app since they are customizable), I rarely had to go back to the app. Speaking of the app, it is versatile and packs a lot of features – and that is both its strength and weakness. If you like tinkering, the app provides a lot of customization options, while for other people it can be slightly overwhelming. I hope Technics can work on balancing that out in future updates.
ANC and multipoint are some of the premium features that are offered in the AZ80. There are different modes of ANC with different strength that can be set to one’s preference, along with ambient and attention mode transparency modes for sound passthrough when needed. I don’t think the ANC and transparency performance is the best out there, but they are very very usable. It was able to deaden the drone of fans and other humming/buzzing noises from my vicinity quite well, as well as drown out the road noise in a car trip. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to try them out in an airplane setting yet so that’s still an open item to check. In terms of multipoint connectivity, Technics I think leads others at the moment. I was able to connect, and “use” the earbuds with 3 devices (2 Android devices and a Windows laptop) with minimum fuss, even though I had to let go of LDAC and settle for AAC. Most of the time, I was using the 2 device multipoint, which gave LDAC (though in “best effort” mode), and I only disabled that when I was trying to use the best quality LDAC bitrate when listening to the HD tracks from my smartphone. The switching between devices was event-free which is rarely the case with my past earbuds. Being a remote worker, this feature suited me very well indeed.
In the end, I think the Technics AZ80 is one of the best true-wireless earbuds currently available, and a definite consideration. It’s a truly underrated product and I’m glad I was able to get it. It’s my daily driver for the foreseeable future.

Technics isn’t a brand that I am familiar with in regards to earbuds. I know them more for their home audio products than anything else. In fact, I have an old amplifier that I just replaced that was older than my kids. I’ve been using these exclusively since I got them to determine if they would ultimately replace my favorite fruit brand and so far, I’ve been extremely impressed with them. The features, ease of use, the app that allows me to customize the audio have shaped my opinion of these earbuds and wireless charging.
Pairing was quite simple and was standard compared to pretty much all of the earbuds that I own. You can use the app to pair them as well and it aids with the customization features as well. You can customize the audio levels as well as the noise cancelling features which I really appreciate. You can also customize the amount of ambient sound for each of the settings including the noise cancelling. I used these while I did some yard work and by comparison, these are about the best buds that I have. I wore them while using a riding mower (which is desperate need of a tune up), gas blower and gas string trimmer. There was a definitive difference in the amount of noise that I heard with these and I was more than impressed with them. Additionally, I didn’t find myself adjusting them or pushing them back in after sweating. I was extremely happy about that because I normally wear something with an ear hook so that they don’t fall out and get run over or lost in my yard.
Overall, these are an awesome set of earbuds and I would put them up against any of the major offerings that are currently available on the market.

In the box is the headphones, a charging case, a USB-A to USB-C power cord, instructional manual/quick start guide and 5 different sizes of silicone ear buds.
First impression – This is a very slim and sleek case. I am loving the magnetized case with indicator lights.
Design – The indicator lights show red to let you know that the case is charging. There is another light in the center that shows different colors of how much battery life is for the case itself. The charge port is on the back of the case where the hinge of the open and closes for the case. It’s pocket sized which is great but there is no wireless charging.
Comfort of headphones – The headphones are super comfortable. There are 5 different silicone ear buds and not all of them are round. If you are familiar with the hearing aid inserts, there is one shaped like that. The headphones are incredibly sturdy and the longest that I have worn them at one time so far was 10 hours. I have slept in them and they did not interrupt my sleep.
Noise Cancelling – The noise cancelling is really good. You can adjust the type of background noise and still hear a voice or you can completely cancel out all of the noise. (This is done with the app.)
Sound – The sound is very clear and there is bass. The midrange is crystal clear. There are multiple equalization options that are preset, for example, it also comes with options like home theater which makes it sound like you are in a movie theater.
Battery – The battery so far for the headphones has lasted well over 10 hours with constant use with a single charge. The case will charge the headphones in 15 minutes. So far, I have charged the headphones 5 times before the red light has come on to charge the case. I am not sure how long it takes to charge the case because I didn’t really pay attention because I plugged it up in my car while driving out town. The charging case does take up to 30W charging.
Overall they are a GREAT pair of headphones and the only con is you have to take the headphones out of the case in order to access the menu in the app. I would give the headphones a 4.8 out of 5.
Would I recommend to friends and family? YES!

These earbud’s strength is their ability to play hi-resolution audio. The sound is well balanced, clean, and accurate. The bass is strong and the mid and lows are clear. To maximize these earbuds’ full potential, I switched the Bluetooth streaming codex on my phone from SBC to LDAC (Lossless Digital Audio Codec). Anybody serious about getting premium sound from wireless headphones will look for a device that supports LDAC. These earbuds definitely produce reference quality sound that makes them worth their price point.
However, it is important to note that not all devices/phones support the LDAC codec. Unfortunately, iPhones and some early model Android phones do not support LDAC. However, these earbuds still produce excellent sound quality using the standard form of audio compression (SBC or AAC). Apple uses its proprietary audio codec, AAC. I tested these earbuds on my wife’s iPhone, and the sound is still very good.
Other positives worth mentioning: they are very comfortable, comes with 7 earpieces, the app has good sound enhancements/equalizer options (Dynamic was my favorite), really good noise cancelling, great mic and sound isolation during phone calls, the ability to locate your earbuds if lost, and the ability to connect up to 3 devices simultaneously. Note: when using LDAC as the wireless transmission option, it is only possible to connect up to 2 devices simultaneously.
I did encounter a few limitations. The main one being that I could not get Google Assistant to work. The product supports Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant, however, on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, every time I try to activate it, Bixby responds rather than Google Assistant. I do not want Bixby to respond, and I have not been able to figure out how to make Google Assistant respond with these earbuds. Hopefully, an update to the Technics app will make this easier in the future.
Another limitation, and this is a limitation with most wireless headphones/earbuds, the volume cannot get extremely loud. However, it does get loud enough. And to some, it may be too loud. I just know that if I want to crank up my music to borderline unhealthy levels, I would be using a wired headset with a small in-line external amp.
And finally, I found the earpiece fitting process to be a little inconsistent. The app has a feature available that will walk you through figuring out which size earpiece to use. You start with a certain size earpiece and the app will use the mics and sensors on the earbuds to determine if you need a smaller or larger earpiece. I went through the process a couple times and got varying results. I ended up going back to the medium sized earpiece, the one that I started with, because they provided a snuggest fit and were the most comfortable. I guess I could have figured this out on my own, but it was fun trying this feature in the app.
Overall, I am very happy with these earbuds. They produce excellent sound. I almost gave them 4 out of 5 stars because of the Google Assistant issue, but I’m thinking a future app update can fix this. Otherwise, in terms of sound quality, these earbuds are excellent.

These are by far my favorite earbuds I own. They are comfortable, I hardly realize they are even in my ears. The noise cancelling is the best I have tried. The sound is clear and crisp. The mic is one of the best I have used. Battery life is on par with the best of them, I have been on support calls for multiple hours with them in and hardly touched the battery.
Now for some specifics. These work so well on multiple devices. I have them paired with 2 computers, a tablet and a cell phone. I can switch between them all without issue. The worst I have had to do is go into Bluetooth settings on a device and click connect. They are now part of my Google profile so it switches almost seamlessly between my Android devices. They also shows on my Chromebook, which I never paired them with. That amazed me for some reason.
The noise cancelling is ideal. When working from home, at times I need to be able to drown out the surroundings. I did not hear a timer going off in the kitchen (2 rooms away) until I took one bud out at the end of my meeting. Needless to say the chicken was ‘blackened’ or well done. Depending on your cooking terminology.
Like I mentioned briefly, the sound is awesome. Excellent high reproduction but the bass is a little lacking like any bud. These are probably the best sounding I have used. The only ones that would compare them too is a pair of high end buds I owned I lost when they fell out of my pocket. I won’t name the company, but they are high end and well known for their speakers and audio equipment. I have been looking for a comparable set ever since with a slightly larger case that I would notice if I dropped them.
The IP rating is escaping me, and I don’t have the packaging handy. But they will withstand a workout or sweaty yard work day without an issue.
Bottom line, these are fantastic. If you are on the fence, go for it.

These are the best earbuds I have ever tried. No matter how long you have these on, you’ll never feel them in the ears.
I am very impressed with these as the performance doesn’t change with the type of activity being performed e.g. running, brisk walking, or other exercises all around the gym. Not to mention the sound quality which is excellent & fits nicely around my ears. This has many levels of noise cancellation like regular, ambient, and attention, each one is effective and can feel the difference easily. This set is wireless Qi charging compatible but needs to be purchased separately as it does not come with the wireless charger. The battery life is longer than other earbuds and lasts up to 7 hours and the case can further provide a quick charge of additional 70 minutes. Being water-resistant allows these to be worn in light rain or while working out. The case is portable and can be easily carried around. Not just these, it can easily be controlled via voice commands by using the voice assistant of your choice. If required, a single earbud can also be used and allows either the other ear to stay open or charge the other one. All-in-all, this is a great set to own.

These Technics- HiFi True Wireless Earbuds with Noise Cancelling and 3 device multipoint connectivity with wireless charging are excellent. These things are beautiful and state of the art!
So, for all the things that I found simply amazing! The sound quality is top notch with dual 10mm dynamic drivers and LDAC technology. One of the coolest features of the Technics- HiFi True Wireless Earbuds is You can seamlessly connect to and switch between 3 Bluetooth-enabled devices. The Bluetooth range is about 33 feet which really isn’t bad. It is IPX4 water resistant. I had no issues with these on several running days in the heat. You get up to seven hours playback with the active noise cancelling on and 24 hours back-up with the case.
The advanced noise cancelling isn’t bad, but it isn’t the best. I feel as if it does a good job at low and mid sounds, but the higher end sounds seem to creep in.

After having one pair of these and using them for a few weeks, my wife tried them and loved how they fit and worked with her Android phone. So, we got another set and got the ones that have the bigger woofer and the case has the ability to do the wireless charging. These come with 7 different sets of ear cushions, so it was easy to find the exact ones to fit her ears. After the initial charging of these, it was an easy pair to her phone. I downloaded the Technics Audio Connect app and it is full of sound adjustments, automatic noise cancelling adjustments and so much more. The app even has a ‘Find Headphones’ section that will emit a sound from the earbuds or it will also show the last know location that you can see on a map. These earbuds can connect up to 3 different devices simultaneously, the headphones automatically connects to the last connected device. The noise cancelling on these are amazing, when mowing grass or in any other noisy environment, the noise reduction is incredible. When listening to music on these, my wife says that these are the best earbuds that she’s ever had. When using them making calls, the people that she was talking to did not know that she was using earbuds, the mic on these are great.

At first I was wondering what all the hoopla was about. Earbuds are earbuds right?
Wrong.
The quality in which headphones and earbuds are made make a big difference.
First the charging box looks average and by any normal standards they are but again quality comes into play. The etching at the top makes it a little easy for gripping. My other had no difference in feel and would often slide right out of my hands.
Charging is simple, normal, nothing special.
The Qi charging is a cool feature but pretty normal.
The impressive features are when you put them in your ear on a full charge. The instance you hear the sound you hear quality. Nothing too high or low and when you pick you music or podcast the noise canceling immediately converts where you were listening from. If you are in a busy noisy area, your surroundings will completely mute and you will be immersed in what you’re listening to. They have multiple ear cushions, so any area size is adapted to. The sleek look design and quality of performance truly outshine’s, and it all fits in your pocket.

Excellent pair of earbud headphones. The accompanying app is great and makes the user experience nice and simple. Follow the instructions and you will have a pleasant experience using these. I have small ears and I usually would never pick a pair of these as my first choice to listen to something on my phone or tablet in private but these came with a bunch of different sized nubs that go in your ear that actually fit inside my ear without giving me a headache. That alone gives them a five star rating in my book.
Did I mention they sound great? I have a ton of over the ear headphones that I use for listening to music and playing games on my gaming rig and I never in a million years thought a pair of buds would be a alternative but here we are. It isn’t the norm but I’d give these a shot for a gaming session. Got a few hours in before I was ready to take them out. Didn’t even notice them in my ears.
These have a interesting bit of tech when it comes to noise cancelling. The wind noise option is okay. Folks who I talked to weren’t impressed with the voice quality but I rarely talk to folks on my phone anyway so its not that big of a deal for me.
The big thing is the fact that you can connect to three devices at one time and the LDAC capability only works when you are connected to either one or two devices. If you aren’t in need of the high quality audio then go crazy and connect to three devices (which is subject to personal experience, my ears don’t notice too much of a difference from having that option turned on or off).
Making sure you have the correct tip on them is key to making sure you have a great experience using them. I tried a few before I finally settled on the size that fits properly in my ears and the app has a guide that checks the seals in your ears for sound leaking which is awesome all by itself. Spend some time in the app and go through all the options and don’t just put them in your ears and go about your business. You’ll thank me later.
The case charges wirelessly and I got a good six hours out of a full charge on the buds at about 40 percent volume and ambient sound set at 100% MAX. When I am in the house I don’t use noise cancelling.
With noise cancelling on is about the same range of use about six hours with a full charge.

It’s been years since I’ve come across the Technics brand. I remember them as making really high end receivers years ago when I was growing up. So I was very surprised to see the brand name resurface with these earbuds. And boy did they get it right. These are hands down the best earbuds I’ve ever used, from comfort, to features, to sound. Everything about them is perfect. First, the most important attribute of earbuds, sound. The sound is so crisp, everything I listened to, from Nina Simone to the National sounded like I was hearing the music anew. The lows and highs all hit the perfect pitch. Not to mention these earbuds have the most fully customizable sound via the app so you can tune it to how you like it. Second, these buds have a very comfortable fit. They come with an arsenal of different sized tips, so there is likely a size for everyone. They stick in you ear with a little twist, and I’ve never felt like they loosened over time. Third, they look great. The case and the outside of the earbuds have a milled finish, giving them a very high end appearance. Fourth, the app is the best I’ve seen. Everything is fully customizable, from the sound to the amount of ambient noise you want to let through. And last but not least, these are the only earbuds I’ve used that allows me to connect to multiple devices. I’ve owned multiple pairs of earbuds that have been rendered useless because the pairing function eventually breaks down from constantly pairing and unpairing. I have these paired to my phone and laptop and I never have to worry. The only flaw I’ve found so far is the very annoying voice that says “connected” 2-4 (maybe 6 if you have 3 devices connected) times (once for each earbud and once for each device) every time you put them in your ear. Some sort of ding would suffice, and I haven’t found a way to turn the voice off. The only other improvement I would make to these is to support some of the new 3D sound formats, like Dolby Atmos, but they sound so good as they are it wouldn’t be a dealbreaker for me.

The sound quality is good and I like the app that allows me to customize my sound and the level of the sound cancelling.
I am petite and have small ears and these have been comfortable to wear for multiple online meetings. My users tell me my mic quality is clear and doesn’t cut out. Since my ears are small, with the little bumpout on these they don’t quite go into my ear to make the noise cancellation as effective as I think it could be. The noise cancellation is good, but could be better if I had a more snug fit. I have these and the non-premium version, and although these are more comfortable to wear for long periods, I find myself using the non-premium version more often since they fit in more snugly and I get better noise cancellation from the snugger fit.
These were simple to pair with my work computer and my iPhone and call and audio quality is good on both devices. I have an older laptop for work and these earbuds have had an issue staying connected a couple of times. I put them back in the case and take them out and they’ve reconnected and worked fine.
I love that these are wireless charging. Easy to place them on my nightstand dock that has a spot for this. These are lightweight in and out of the case.
These have a nice sound quality, the app allows you to customize your sound and noise cancellation level, they charge easily on a wireless charging pad, and are easy to travel with.

These Technics earbuds are great. The sound quality is amazing – very clear and no distortion or “tinny” sound. The installation and pairing processes were flawless and very quick. The app is great – I use it mostly to see the charged percentage on both the earbuds and the base unit as well as to change from noise cancelling (which works extremely well) to ambient sound. You can also adjust the base, treble and other enhancements quickly using the app, but I found the factory settings work quite well. The base can be charged using a standard USB Type C plug which is very convenient. The noise cancellation works so well it’s easy to get engrossed in what I am watching, or listening to, and totally forget about my surroundings. The earbuds are incredibly comfortable, even after 2-3 hours. They also stay in place when bending over or moving my head. The navigation controls are easy to use, particularly pause (one touch). I usually adjust volume on the device, rather than on the buds. The best thing about these Technics is definitely the sound quality.

These earbuds are supposed to be noise canceling. I am not really impressed with their noise canceling feature. I do like the hear through feature though. When walking outside with them, I still hear noises around me with the noise cancellation feature turned on. You are supposed to be able to adjust it using the Technics app, but I can’t seem to hear any difference when adjusting the noise cancelling.
This model is pretty comfortable. There is another version that is similar to this one, but slightly larger. The larger one is not as comfortable as this one. I can wear one in my ear pretty much all day and it doesn’t bother me. I like to wear one earbud in my right ear that is connected to my phone. I can answer calls with it or listen to music. The microphone does work well. When using the earbud microphone, the other party told me that the sound is pretty good.
The range is very good. I can leave my phone at my desk and will not lose connection when going out into our shop area unless I am at least 20 -30 yards away from my desk. The battery will last all day at work when I put it back in the case for about 30 minutes while I take a lunch. I think it would probably last 8 hours anyway, but I have not tried leaving it out of the charging case during lunch.
The sound quality is good and can be tailored to your personal taste. There is a Technics Audio Connect app that goes with it. You can update your firmware using the app as well as set the sound the way you like it. There are several preset sound settings and one that you can set to your liking.
The controls are not great. I continue to struggle to just pause/play or answer the phone. This should be simple tap, but I just can’t get it to work the first time every time. It generally takes a couple of tries to get it to work.
I am only rating it 4 out of 5 due to the noise cancellation feature and the way the control function.

Panasonic hasn’t always been a big player in the world of earbuds, but with the Technics premium earbuds, they’re gaining momentum.
Out of the box you get the earbuds in their charging case, a USB charging cable, and a whole lot of different sized earbuds inner replacements.
Setup is very simple. If you decide to download the app, which I highly suggest, then the setup process will be explained to you step by step via the app. The app allows you to house multiple earbuds, if you in fact have multiple earbuds. The app shows you how much battery life both earbuds have, as well as the charging case.
One of the nice options is the find headphones options in the app. Once you activate it, there will be an audible chime letting you know where they are. The downside is that the chime is not loud… if you’re in your quiet home, then you may have more success. If anywhere else, not functional.
You can change the sound as well as the noise cancelling. I will say that the noise cancelling is a really nice feature. I turned it on while my humidifier and my air purifier were going on in the background and I didn’t hear either of them.
The earbuds themselves sound awesome. I listened to some music, watched a few movies clips, and everything sounded clear and crisp. The bass and treble were both great once I fine tuned it in the app.
When I used it to answer/make calls, the other people on the line said that I sounded nice and clear. There’s also an option int he app that lets you hear what you sound like. I appreciate small details like that.
My only gripe is the touch gesture on the earbuds. It’s somewhat convoluted. You need to tap three times in some situations, and it’s not intuitive either. I wish it was two taps on the left earbud to rewind or previous track, or go back 30 seconds on a video. The same but in reverse for the right earbud, instead of the way it is. This is where the design engineers lost their way.
All in all, the earbuds look nice, have a great heft to them, nice build quality, and sound great!

When I think of this brand I think house phones or appliances so I really wasn’t sure what to expect out of a higher end earbud. I could not have been more shocked and pleased with the quality of these earbuds. These are made well and the sound that comes out of these is incredible. The app paired with this makes it super easy to update, change settings, switch noise canceling options etc. Setup was super easy and this seems to charge pretty fast and I’ve been pleased with the battery life so far. I use my earbuds quite a bit and listen to or watch various different things. These earbuds perform beautifully no matter what I’m listening to with them. These fit in your ear slightly differently than a normal ear bud as you twist to get them to sit correctly in your ear. I do find these very comfortable and have been able to wear them for longer periods of time without issue. These are great for bass heavy music and have several eq type settings to swap between to get the most out of your listening experience.

Technics is on a roll with their stuff for me. I have their turntable and that is a show stopper for family. For me personally these earbuds are amazing. I paired them with my portable gaming system and they are a masterpiece for sound.
I am recently playing Starfield on my system and the sound literally feels like I’m in space (or at least what space should sound like).
Better yet is that I can pair the earbuds with three devices so at any given time if my phone rings while I’m playing my game I can answer my phone and the earbuds automatically switch over to my call. I didn’t think that feature would be so helpful but I’m a fan for sure.
The sound with music is certainly in its own space. The nuances seem small at first but I have earbuds I use for the gym and recently I’ve taken my technics with my and I find myself stopped dead on my tracks when I realize there is something on a track I’ve never heard before.
One instance is a Shakira track where she takes a breath at the beginning of the song. My song was changing to this track specifically and the BREATH was so pronounced I thought I had run into someone and I tore the earbud out because I scared myself. I hadn’t experienced sound like this and I’ve had loads of earbuds and headphones of all sorts.
You might be thrown off by a name you don’t recognize but don’t let this deter you. I hope you find tracks like me to fall in love with again and discover whole new pieces to songs like I have.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the new Technics EAH-AZ80 headphones, and I must say, they left quite an impression on me.
First and foremost, the multi-point connectivity feature was a real game-changer for me. Being able to seamlessly switch between my iPhone, Macbook and smartwatch without the hassle of re-pairing is a huge convenience. It’s a feature I didn’t know I needed until I experienced it. This alone would be a win for me, along with the below mention of sound quality.
Now, let’s talk about the sound quality. Wow! These headphones deliver the best sound quality I’ve ever heard in a wireless earbud. I found the “Dynamic” sound profile in the Technics app to be best. If you’re a music lover or an audiophile, you’ll truly appreciate the rich, immersive audio they provide. Whether I was listening to my favorite tracks or watching a movie, the audio quality was exceptional.
Build quality is also worth mentioning. The EAH-AZ80 headphones feel sturdy and well-made, and the brushed metal look stands out to me. This is particularly important for true wireless earbuds, as they need to withstand daily wear and tear.
The battery life, at 5.5 hours per charge, was decent for my needs. While it may not be the longest-lasting battery out there, it easily gets me through my daily tasks and commutes without any issues. Just remember that battery life can vary depending on your usage patterns.
One aspect that stood out to me was the size of the case. It’s compact and easy to slip into my pocket or bag, making it incredibly portable. Having the headphones readily available when I need them is a big plus. I’m not sure if cases are made yet to protect it, but still. It’s a slim package.
Wireless charging is another nifty feature. It eliminates the hassle of dealing with cables and cords. Just place the case on a wireless charger, and you’re good to go.
Now, there are a couple of things to consider. The noise-canceling technology, while present, isn’t as potent as what you’d find in some of the top-tier competitors like the Bose QuietComfort II earbuds. So, if you’re in noisy environments frequently, that’s something to keep in mind. It’s not bad by any means, but if ANC is the biggest priority for you you will want to consider other options.
Additionally, the comfort level didn’t quite match up to some of the other options I’ve tried. Comfort is a subjective matter, so your mileage may vary, but for longer listening sessions, it might be something to consider. Now, there were a lot of earbud size options, which was a great plus.
The last feature worth noting is that the AZ80 do have an app that you can use to find your lost headphones. This is one of my biggest gripes with other wireless earbuds sans the Airpods line as they don’t feature anyway of finding your headphones if they’re lost. This feature worked well but wasn’t quite as polished or as accurate as Apple’s Find My, but good enough to help me.
In conclusion, the Technics EAH-AZ80 headphones are an excellent choice if you value multi-point connectivity, outstanding sound quality, good build quality, decent battery life, a compact case, and wireless charging. However, if you prioritize top-tier noise cancellation and ultimate comfort, you might want to explore other options. Personally, the sound quality alone made these headphones stand out for me, and I’d happily recommend them to fellow music enthusiasts.

Technics are back and these earbuds are right up there with the best of them.
Technics was always a brand that was known for high quality audio. The Z80M are exactly that.
The packaging is similar to the slight cheaper z60m and the unboxing is identical with what you get in the box. You get 7 different types of ear tips which is a great thing as you’re almost guaranteed to find the best fit for you.
The earbuds themselves are extremely comfortable and in the black they are quite discreet, they don’t stick out and they don’t give me any ear fatigue at all.
They look great and give you that technics look.
These are also ipx4 rated so fine for working out but be aware the case has no ratings at all. The case is a nice size and also supports Qi wireless charging
Battery life on these is really good too, I’m getting a hair over 7 hours with ANC enabled and 9 without it which is right up there with the top dogs.
These are also the first earbud to offer 3 way multipoint connectivity and it works perfectly. Pause your music on one device and carry on listening on any of the the 2 other device you have paired. I’ve never had multipoint work so well, technics nailed it.
The ANC is also right up there with the best you can get providing uninterrupted listening while keeping the high quality audio that these produce. They also have transparency mode which still works great but not quite the quality of the ANC. Overall very solid
The app is the same as you use with the z60 and as I mentioned in that review it is by far the best app I’ve used on any earbuds. It’s feature filled and easy to use.
Now the most important part. The sound on these is in my opinion the best you can get at this price point. Sound separation is the best I’ve heard with instruments and different voices coming through in rich detail, the lows are so nice and smooth. The soundstage on these is above the rest and offer a consistent high quality no matter what music you play. And with the EQ in the app you can dial them in even more to your liking.
Technics hit a home run with these and I highly recommend you trying these over the usual suspects at this price. You will not be disappointed

Panasonic has finally brought back the true Technics experience. I have owned many audio components and headphones from Technics and they have all delivered a great experience. To have that experience with modern features is absolutely amazing. These earbuds are excellent. The design is simple and sleek. They fit very well inside my ear and are very comfortable when wearing for hours at a time. They are perform great while getting wet while working out or running around. The clarity of the microphone is very very good and comes in clear, drowns out background noise and the person on the other end hears me well. It’s cool to be able to use only one ear piece for this purpose. The sound clarity is phenomenal. I can hear every little detail in any kind of music I listen too. The bass is surprisingly deep and clear. I haven’t heard any kind of distortion, even at maximum volume. The treble and midrange is also very good and really makes listening to music a great experience. The charging case and battery life are excellent and pretty straightforward. Noise cancelling is excellent and definitely drowns out sound in a noisy environment well. Overall, I’m very happy with these ear buds. Definitely a must have.

The Technics AZ80M2 piqued my curiosity as it holds a name that was once coveted in the audiophile realm. I have always loved Panasonic and their subsidiaries and this device couldn’t have come out at a better time for me. I have had my AirPods for a few years and they were beginning to get tired after the constant use for 2 years. This is how it stacked up and my opinion of the product.
Physically, the Technics AZ80M2 feels nice. The case has a textured finish which makes it easier to hold onto when pulling in or out of your pockets/purse. If I could change a design element it would be the texture of the case. It wasn’t my favorite feel, but it had purpose to it. I think I would prefer something with a larger grippy bumpiness.
The device is charged by a USB-C connection! I am so happy that the world is finally adopting USB-C as a standard.
The case is also a bit larger than the AirPods Pro case. This is because the buds are larger than the AirPods. This is because the Technics AZ60M2 has gesture/touch controls. So far I have only used play/pause and the noise cancellation controls. The gestures/touch controls were easy to use and I haven’t felt overwhelmed by the amount of ways you can control the headphones.
The Technics come with a plethora of tip options so you can find your ultimate comfort fitment. I have let my wife use theses a few times as well and she is very picky when it comes to in ear monitors. She was able to find the right fit with minimal effort.
Sound wise, the Technics sound amazing! Nonetheless, the headphones sound great. The noise cancellation works really well. I could easily wear them for an extended period of time with minimal fatigue.
The packaging of the device was minimal. It is nice to see that companies are taking steps to responsible sustainability.
Would I recommend this headphone to others? Absolutely. For someone who is not a diehard Apple fan and wants to try something new, you will not be disappointed.

These are my new favorite earbud. They have a premium look and feel and incredible sound. The first thing I notices when taking these out of the box is the incredible fit and finish. They look very high end and premium and the case feels solid in the hand.
They are very comfortable to wear. I’ve had other ear buds that sound great, but cause ear fatigue after wearing them a short time. I didn’t have any issues with that with these earbuds. They stayed in for moderate activity (walking, house work, etc) but I’m not sure how well they would work for running or vigorous exercise.
The sound on these is incredible. They highs were crisp without being shrill, and best of all the bass was well-rounded and strong without drowning out the midtones and highs and without the distortion that can sometimes come with strong bass.
I wore these on a flight and the noise cancellation effectively drowned out the rumble of the engines (and most of the crying of a small child), so these may stay in my suitcase for travel.
Wireless charging works for the case, but it’s not going to be a huge issue because battery life is great.

I have two different versions of these. Overall, I like these. I definitely prefer them to the slightly lower version.
The call quality on these Technics is very good. I drive a Jeep that can get a little noisy at times. Despite the ambient noise, I never have any issues hearing people. Even better than that, the people I’m talking to do not get the background noise. I’ve used other headphones (not Technics) that constantly had people telling me it was too noisy or that I sounded like I am in a fishbowl. That is never an issue with these.
I carry around two phones daily. One is for work and the other personal. These ear buds easily connected to both phones. This makes driving and communicating very easy. Before having this capability, I needed two sets of ear buds or needed to take them out so I could take calls on my other device.
Music sounds very good on these. My complaint with the lesser Technics was that it lacked bass when it came to music. These actually have a good sounding bass on them. I work out daily and like to have my music in the gym. That extra bass and good sound quality (and volume) make focusing much easier.
Another thing I enjoy is that when I pop them in my ears, a small alert pops up on my phone, telling me how much battery life each bud and the carrying case have. The case also has a small LED to indicate the charge (green is good, red is low).
The only two drawbacks I’ve found is: the earbuds may sometimes pop out and occasionally, I go to push the bud back into my ear and stop my music or drop my call.
I’m a runner, but an injury has me off the trails for now, so I couldn’t test how they would do on a trail run. I worry they might pop out. To be fair, though, I had another brand that sometimes popped out too and only once or twice did I lose one while running.
THE BIG QUESTION
Would I recommend these to others? Absolutely. I have several different types of ear buds, but for every day usage, these are by far my favorite.

These earbuds are incredible. They sound phenomenal, the app is amazing, the level of customization is absolutely insane, the transparency mode is among the best in the business, but there are a couple of things that hold them back and thus prevents me from giving them five stars. First, the battery life is average at best, as is the ANC. They let in a LOT of sound, even after I’ve done the ear fit test and found the best ear tips. The breaking point for me was the fit. As I said, I did the ear fit test and found the proper ear tips, but after I did that, they hurt after about an hour. That being said, I would still highly recommend them if you can find a better fit than I could.

Very good bass and noise cancellation. There are very loud, I cannot go more than half of the volume. Very nice design and they stay in my ear, never felt. Good battery life and good connectivity.

These are beastly earbuds with sound better than Sony’s XM line, Ipods and Sennheiser buds. The transparency mode is probably the best or at least rivaling all of apples headphones. The noise canceling is not Sony or Bose level but it’s just underneath. I’m more so into the sound quality and the transparency mode on these buds which you are second to none. Call quality is pretty good as well. The app makes adjusting these earbuds on transparency, noise canceling and sound profile very easy. These are highly recommended

Nice balanced sound top to bottom. The only drawback is that the buds are really small and difficult to handle out of your ears. A little pricey but worth it for this level of sound.
