Great lens for the money, nah it is great lens. I purchased both the Tamron 70-300mm lens and the Sony 70-200mm G lens expecting that the Tamron would very much disappoint when married up to the a9 camera but NO!
Yes there are advantages to the Sony lens but for the average camera user the Tamron didn’t show too much flaws and now the price. Yes the price and the warranty that comes with it when you combine it and look at value it is well worth it and if I did it over I would buy the Tamron and maybe something else like fast wide angle lens.

  2. Deemg

Great budget lens! Needed a versatile zoom lens for closer wildlife shots, and this fit the need and budget.

  3. Checkman

I was looking for a good longer lens than what I currently had for my Sony mirrorless DSLR, but the prices were a bit stiff. I read the reviews for the Tamron 70-300mm zoom and, with the very reasonable price on-line with Best Buy and some Rewards points, I went ahead and ordered it.

So far, I’ve enjoyed the Tamron. It feels like a very quality build (while yes, it isn’t all metal, it feels good, but not overly heavy, which is a plus when lugging stuff around). The pictures I’ve taken so far, even when displayed on my 75″ TV, look sharp. There’s been no issue with quick auto-focus, metering accuracy, or zooming.

So, while I’m sure the Sony equivalent lens is a great one (and I have a number of the E-mounts and love them), the Tamron is an excellent substitute in my opinion and the price cannot be beat.

  4. Cameradude

Super happy with this lens. Killer price too! Recommended!

  5. Akmay

So far I love this lens. I’ve only used it a few times so I’m still learning. It’s a little heavy but other than that it’s great.

  6. jedimed

Reasonably quick autofocus and a sharp image, especially for the price.

  7. Canonuser

    I purchased this
Lens because I do a lot of wildlife photography that requires distance from some subjects. I have been very pleased with the clear sharp pictures I have been getting. I am happy with my purchase

  8. Gamer

Having the wide range of the lens is nice for variable distances and focusing.

  9. CROC

Love it so far. was able to take the attached picture last night with ease

  10. Danden

Really like it. It works perfect for capturing the perfect photo long distance. I’d buy it again it’s great price.

  11. DaveL

Great lens. Awesome service! Would recommend this item!

  12. LeahC

Reasonably great lens especially for the price that your getting it. Telephoto range was perfect for the shot that I’m trying to achieve. For me this is the best telephoto lens you can try before ordering the lenses that are quite very different in price range.

  13. JenniferB

Great affordable lens. No need to pay double for Sony’s. I already have the expensive camera, and this saved me some money and works just as well as my other lens’.

  14. Jhan

This is an excellent lens its very well made and its great for far photography.

  15. CharlesBa100

Looks to be as good as my Sony lenses. Have not used it on moving objects yet, but hoping it will do ok.

  16. RichardjG

Did not perform well in my Sony a6000. Tried using to shoot indoor sports.

  17. DocSilva82

I use it with my Sony A7iv and I love it. Especially for the price. The lens picks up nicely. Colors are crisp. Very happy with the lens, especially for the price. Already used for sons football games.

  18. Melodic

Really good lenses for the Sony camera. Highly recommend for shooting long distance

  19. SarahG

I had only played with my 30mm 1.4 and this sweetheart of a lens was a surprise let me tell you. Its such a cozy zoom its pretty hefty but lightweight i really enjoyed scoring this baby for a reasonable price.

  20. BestBuyer

The best budget lens I’ve come across is the [Tamron 70 – 300mm]. Its impressive optical performance, coupled with an affordable price tag, makes it a standout choice for amateur photographers or those on a budget. The lens delivers sharp images, minimal distortion, and good low-light performance, making it a reliable option without breaking the bank. Keep in mind that while it might lack some advanced features, it provides excellent value for its cost.

Very nice cgeap lens. AF works nice and fast and the sharpness outperforms my abilities for now at least.
