Very fast reader. Transfer data to laptop quickly. Much faster than back in the day using a standard SD card either by placing car directly into a desktop or using a slower SD reader. If you move up to a Nikon Z series, this is the card reader for you!
Dj25 –
Compact, does a good job but to expensive but good so far
Ericpnw –
Great reader. A little pricy but it gets the job done and there arent a lot of options for this type of card

A lot of full frame cameras use XQD and/or CFexpress Type B memory cards. They look the same, but unless your equipment is made to use both, are not interchangeable. This card reader can be used with BOTH cards. Sony has made a great card reader.

The must have for every photographer. If your going to do any kind of editing or even sharing pictures, this is the card reader you need! Super fast and portable!!!
JPL8 –
Works really well. I would highly recommend instead of the cheaper readers that get super hot.

Not cheap , but worth every penny.
Fast, Fast, Fast… and reliable.
JARSF –
Convenient and very fast transfer of images from card to computer or hard drive. Much faster than I’m used to.
Jorge –
Works flawlessly, sleek and it came with the correct wire for Apple devices.

I use this with my Nikon D850 because it takes the XQD cards and this is the best one out there.
Backup data and increase productivity with this Sony CFexpress memory card reader. Compatibility with XQD and CFexpress Type B cards provides fast read and write speeds, letting you copy large 4K video files to your computer quickly. This Sony CFexpress memory card reader has a USB port for simple connection to laptops, desktops and tablets.

Great Card Reader! Super fast download from CFexpress card.

Does what it supposed to do. It was pretty straight forward.
KRPNC –
The Sony XQD Memory Card Reader worked well for updating my new Nikon Z7. This is the reason I had to buy the reader.
BobbyWasabi –
Excellent transfer speeds! I highly recommend this reader as long as your computer can support the transfer rate.
Bee4 –
I shoot XQD and CF and camera can’t take advantage of added speed so why invest in CF Express? With a firmware upgrade, my camera should be able to use it but not take advantage of speed except for download to computer. Currently, SanDisk is on sale far below Sony reg price so overall cheaper assuming brands are fully compatible. Many PC’s come with CF slot so getting XQD/normal Cf has no advantage and XQD only solution limits expansion. Lose star for price.
BlakeEDH –
Extremely fast reader for Nikon Z9 user. Used with Sandisk 128gb CFEXPRESS card type b.

I was debating on couple options available in Best Buy then decided give this one a try based on its higher rating. It works great, connecting and transferring speeds are super fast compared to all other cars readers I had.
The reason I gave 4 stars is that the cable is very short.
Pjinks –
I wish I could find a reader that does both CFexpress and SD, but this reader is fast and solid for CFexpress Type B cards.
Photonut –
Quality (Sony), fast card reader. Speed is essential for work flow when using a 45 megapixel camera. It does get warm when in use so don’t block it’s ventilation…just my personal opinion on that!
BestBuyFan –
I just upgraded and purchased a new mirrorless camera. This card is necessary for the first memory card slot.
Ronnie –
My first time using this type of reader and card, so far it performs better than I expected

Hi. This is good product and worked for what I needed it for: Transferring images from my XQD card to my iPad Pro into Lightroom mobile. This is accomplished via USB-C. One thing I noticed is I had to connect directly to the USB-C port on the iPad. I could not connect via the port on the Magic keyboard. Transfer is fast as expected with XOD. There are probably other manufacturers that do the same thing, but I went with SONY since I use the SONY XQD card which are equally reliable. Other benefit: Much easier to use than connect directly to your camera. Transfers with the camera drain your battery in a quick manner and are slow.

Although I’d like this to be a bit smaller, it does fit in my bag nicely. This file transfers from this to my iPad are blazing fast!! No software was needed. My Apple Photos sees it and allows for easy import.

It works, but gets hot on my computer. CFexpress takes longer to load than xqd.
Ramon –
Excellent quality, fast, it is the perfect complement for me to read my sony XQD card on my computer.

I have purchased two of these, one for use with a Mac Studio and the other for use with a Windows PC. If you use CFExpress/XQD memory cards then this is a nice compact reader that can be used at home as well as on the road. The USB-C cable is detachable and so it makes it easy to store the reader and cable in small pockets when on the road. I have tested this with CFExpress cards used in Nikon cameras (Z7II and Z9) and it works as expected.
Mcgaulm –
This card reader is a monster. The file transfers are super quick and easy. Must have with the Z9
Hermit –
I needed card reader for my Sony Tough CFExpress card, so I also went with a Sony card reader.
Carolann –
