    I was a firm believer in onkyo for years on 7.1 surround sound systems. this think surprised me. i will never own another onkyo receiver agsin this 7.1 sounds so much beeter than any onkyo i ever owned

    Easy set up and decent sound quality. Propietary FM antenna plug hinders ability to hook up a stronger antenna. FM signal is weak with oem antenna.

    I replaced a 15 year old Yamaha AVReciever. The sound of this Sony is fantastic. It has three zones and set up was a little complicated but the Geek aSquad came through. Glad I’m a total tech member.

    Super powerful. Can be hard to play straight through (same sound send to each speaker. It
    Likes to do the built in EQ sound which isn’t always the best. Also could use more speaker jacks.
    I’m giving 5 stars because it’s a fantastic entry unit and does exactly what it says it should!

    I’ve had an older Sony receiver ( 30 years plus) I was sad to get ride if it. I bought this one due to have Sony for so long. I love this one and being able to use my phone Bluetooth listing to my own music. Miss having a receiver been the best so far.

    I got two of these one for me and one for the girl i mostly use mine for gaming and it is so nice not have to switch in-between channels when i switch consoles all i have to do now is turned on the console and everything fires right up in full 8k being able to switch you speaker pattern is also extremely nice when you can’t afford to buy everything at once

    Bought it. Tried it. It was alright and did a decent job however I ended up sending my old receiver in to be repaired. Once that came back I realized I couldn’t justify the price point of this receiver when I had one that works perfectly fine.

    It does everything ok. The menus are hard to navigate that is a real issue. Switching between streaming and network is not so easy. This is with a new sony bravia tv. I would have thought the syncing would be more fluid and clear.

    Very happy with the variation of sound fields and quality. Been enjoying the Dolby Atmos feature. Wish my tv had the EARC vs just the ARC feature so I could enjoy Atmos for streaming services though. But thats not the receivers fault. It’s a powerful receiver and priced well.

    Overall I gave this product 5 stars. It’s super easy to setup, sound quality is great. Automatically switches inputs when I power on one of my gaming consoles. Automatically turns on and off when I power my tv on or off. There are just 2 things I wish were better. There is no testing for the speakers and you have to cycle through the different sound fields. So, if you accidentally pass the one you want you have to cycle all the way back to it.

    Price conscious unit that really performs. Upgraded from an older Sony, upgraded the speakers and added flush mount height speakers in the ceiling.

    What an upgrade and amazing sound. It was overdue but I am now extremely happy.

    The projector has a 93 inch image and everything is now like you are participating and not experiencing everything from a distance.

    Maiden voyage was Top Gun Maverick (WOW). Then NFL playoffs.

    I got my bragging rights back!

    Very nice 7.2 home theater receiver that upgrades your input signal to 4k for a much sharper picture. It’s very easy to connect all the speakers with spring loaded clamps. All video inputs are HDMI with one HDMI output to keep it all simple. Sound is very crisp and clear! I am looking forward to emjoying this unit for several years to come.
