    We got this to replace a similar Sony clock radio that had served us well for about 20 years (original purchased around 2003). I’m really disappointed in this version in terms of the radio functionality (which is what we use it for).

    My old alarm had a digital tuner, this one has a dial/manual tuner. It means you have to “find” the station every time you want to change stations or bands. No presets on this one – a function my 20 year old clock had.

    My old clock also had…an ON-OFF switch. This one does not – off is just the volume knob all the way down. And the volume knob is a mirror image of the tuning knob. Soooo, if in the dark, you don’t remember that volume is on the left and tuning is on the right (or is it the other way around?), you’ve suddenly lost the station you were listing to and have to find it again.

    Bottom line – this box was cutting edge in 1970. I don’t know how Sony justified eliminating so many basic features in this “modern” version. Really wish my old one hadn’t broken.

    WORST ALARM CLOCK E-V-E-R !!! The sound is sooooo low, that even if you are already awake, you might not hear it. Completely USELESS as an alarm clock 🙁

    I gave a 4 star rating due to the dial’s that are used for the volume and the radio stations are rather small and can be a bit frustrating. It is a good size and the background light is not too bright at night and easy to read.

    I really like the size of this radio, but the reception leaves a lot to be desired. I even get static on a clear channel station and can only pick up a few channels. I wouldn’t give this product a high recommendation.

    My old school clock radio was on the way out after many years. This replacement is perfect. Easy to set, nice features, love the cube design, but mostly I love the crisp quality of the sound!

    I really really like this small SONY Alarm Clock Radio! It definitely does the job in the room I bought it for & I love the look & shape of it! I had to find it on my own went I went into the store but it was okay as I found it relatively quickly!

    I use this to replace my former Sony alarm clock and was very easy to use. Just plug it in and the time automatically sets. Great reception and sound. Large snooze button. Paid full price, and worth every penny.

    I purchased this Clock radio because it is a Sony and I was tired of cheap poor-quality clocks. after 5 weeks or so I noticed it was not keeping time and would run fast. I inquired about a replacement but was beyond the BB return policy date (30 days). Sony started a warranty repair and determined it was not repairable so a replacement is authorized. I received an email and shipping label for the return. Sony will not ship the replacement until to old one is returned. When I called customer service to address this issue of not having any clock while my old one was returned and a replacement issued I spoke with a very angry, unhelpful, service rep who refused to let me speak to a supervisor or anyone else at the customer service department. I am Very unhappy I spent $70 on a “premium” clock radio for this. On top of it, I got to argue about the email that was sent to me and what is and is not in the email. If you are looking for a “good” clock radio, keep looking, this one is not worth the extra money, and if you have an issue, good luck with customer service. AVOID!

    DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! Does not have digital tuning, and the manual tuning indicator is so small you cannot read it without a magnifying glass. Audio quality is poor. Sony should be ashamed of themselves.
