It was working properly initially afterwards it was disconnecting frequently. I don’t know why? My return period is over.

Solid, well made soundbar. Sometime a glitch(sound drops off for a few seconds on some channels) Needs a good sub-woofer to be effective. I purchased one.
Nayy –
As far as soundbars go… this one does a fairly decent job on movies – however this does not give you real atmos, only well placed dedicated speakers can do that. On music… imagine a 1980’s boombox – that’s the sound. That was a deal breaker for me. For this kind of money just invest in a 5.1 receiver and speakers. I spent less and got MUCH more that way.
Nick –
Great little soundbar. I chose this one because my stand is the same width. Easy to connect to the tv with great sound. Love it
ManmohanS –
Very easy fix & clearly sound & easy fix also price good range
Eric –
Very good sound quality easy to operate and easy to install
EZellers –
The sound bar is honestly been pretty great so far. Sound wise its clear and packs a decent amount of built in bass for music and youtube type content. The device was easy to setup, and it has a pleasing form factor. Only thing i find slightly frustrating about it is the streaming function for things like spotify dont have a sleep timer built in and the bluetooth will actively stayed connected after even with the sleep timer bullt in on my phone . But thats a small nitpick for a good product.

Great sound, easy connection/control with my Sony TV.

I wanted a sound bar along with the Sony 65 inch OLED TV which I purchased. There was a bundle offer with Sony sound bars and initially I went in with the Sony HTA5000 along with the subwoofer. I had to return the sound bar primarily for two reasons. The first being that it was too wide to fit in between the TV’s legs and I would have had to keep it on top of the legs of the stand which was not ideal. I would have preferred that Sony called this out upfront that it would not be a good fit for their own 65 inch TV. And the second was that it seemed I could hear the low frequencies from the subwoofer which again is not ideal. But having said this, the sound reproduction and effects were OK (not great). There was no vertical sound I heard at home – in the stores they wow you with this. So, I returned the sound bar and instead got myself this sound bar, the Sony HTA3000. I thought how different could the performance be and boy was I wrong. This sound bar is to be avoided. The sound reproduction of this sound bar is below average. If you turn on the vertical sound engine, all of the character voices become thin and tinny and sound the same and it becomes quite difficult to tell one voice from the other. If you turn it off and use DTS virtualization, it definitely improves but a clear differentiation between different voices is still not up to the mark. This sound bar just does not cut it in terms of reproducing clear and differentiated dialogs (the HTA5000 however did). I really did try all of the different settings.
In this setup however, the issue I was having with the previous soundbar of the directional low frequency sound seemingly coming from the subwoofer was not there.
After a few days, I found the dialog reproduction unbearable, and I decided to return the soundbar and the subwoofer. I got myself the Vizio M-Elevate and I cannot tell you how happy I am with it.
There is another really annoying issue with Sony soundbars when used with Sony TVs or for that matter with any TV. What this means is that whenever you have to change the soundbar settings, the TV display switches over to the soundbar settings display where you can adjust soundbar settings. This however means that you stop watching whatever you were watching – whether it was cable or You tube or Netflix. It just switches over. So now after you change the settings, you have to press back a few times on the soundbar remote and then pick up the TV remote to switch to what you were watching and then maybe a couple of more clicks to resume. This is a deal breaker – this also means that one cannot hear the sound based on the sound settings in real time. If you don’t like a specific setting, repeat the whole thing and it just gets to you. I am wondering what the soundbar engineers were thinking when they designed this. So let me now tell you what happens when I have the Vizio connected to the Sony TV – all soundbar settings are available on the Vizio remote and I can change them while the content is playing and hear the differences instantaneously. It is just so much more convenient. The lesson for soundbar manufacturers here is to provide for all sound settings without using the TV display, something which Vizio nails.

I didn’t really know if we needed to purchase the sound bar or not. Boy, am I glad my wife wanted it. It is wonderful!!
AlanG –

DarrellB –
Attached this Sony Soundbar to the Sony OLED 4k TELEVISION. The soundbard recognized it immediately and began to work as expected. Easiest Soundbar I have ever installed. Excellent sound from the Sony Soundbar. Clear instructions how to install.
MichaelL –
Great sound quality for the price! I highly recommend.
Rick –
Good sound and easy to pair with your Sony TV but if you want to use it in a big room you definitely need to buy other pricey components like rear speakers and subwoofer and if you want to enjoy the full Atmos experience you will need to add those components. The sound bar by itself, and if you are going to use it in a small room is ok . I ended up returning it.
Captainron5 –
I should have picked a 5.1 or better this is ok with the rear speakers but on its own it doesn’t even feel like it’s in stereo
FrankB –
Incredible sound for a compact unit, and it it the perfect size for the living room!
AshleyM –
Bought this to pair with the Bravia XR X90K 4K, because of the Center Speaker option with the TV is only compatible with Sony Soundbars. When connected, there is a lot of fuzzy noise coming from the TV that can be easily heard from across the room. I contacted tech support and long story short, the motherboard on the TV needs to be replaced. Checking online, this has been a known issue for a few years, and Sony continued to manufacture and sell TVs with bad hardware, and they haven’t issued a recall. Because I purchased the TV 1 year and two weeks ago, it is no longer under warranty. I cannot believe that Sony would knowingly sell TVs with bad hardware and I can’y believe that they would continue marketing the center speaker mode knowing it would not work. While my TV may not be under warranty, I can still return the soundbar and surround speakers, and I can give my money to another company. Do not buy this item if you want Center Speaker Mode.
JamesL –
Rich full sound and can even get boomingly loud too while maintaining quality of sound!
ReneekJ –
Sound bar added that bit of extra for those hard of hearing
Johnsron –
Bought with new OLED Bravia and both works seamlessly together. The sound quality is very good (compared to a couple Bose I tried before I bought this Sony.
AdrienneK –
Was sold an “open box” as a bonus added deal with Sony Bravia tv. Geek Squad tried to connect and said it was worse they’ve ever heard. I returned it but Best Buy should not sell damaged products and call them open box it at least check the equipment. To the customer, open box means the box was opened, not the product doesn’t work. Don’t know how an undamaged A3000 would sound but this was a waste of customers time
TimK –
Its good not for bigger spaces have to have sound all the way up to really feel it
LeonardB –
Excellent sound quality. The high and low sounds are wonderful. It’s easy to use.
CandiceW –
Great sound. Technicians mounted it right below the TV as we have no mantel. Programmed to go on and off with TV so separate remote not needed.
GaryM –
Sound bar is a great, Sound is wonderful and easy-to setup.
ArtW –
It’s great. Everything I wanted. Easy to set up and use.
RGS8013 –
It takes awhile to get use to the sound but it gives the feel of being in a movie threater. I like it alot
RaymondWQ –
Great Sound, watching the action movies is like you are right there on seen. If you are not paying close attion you will be looking around the room to see where the noise is coming from. My wife has mentioned that someone was at the door when she hears someone knocking on TV. I would recomend this to anyone that is a little older on has suffered any hearing loss. This is a great product for the price.

Best Sound unit I have ever Bought. Quality Great also and Looks. 100%
Yinks –
Honestly, I can’t give a critical review on the soundbar yet as I am yet to test its limits. But if it’s just to watch TV and movies without the cinema effect then it’s ok.
CoreyB –
It’s okay, but investing a little more will get you a much better experience. If you need a soundbar and can do a full surround system, get the HT5000
RamonaAFetterwe –
The Tv had such great sound that I didn’t need this item, and returned it. But i did heart from others that have this product, is gives clear sound and no static nodes.
DBLC –
Good sound for the price. Doesn’t come with a fiber optic cable, though.
codyacoop –
Great sound quality, easy to setup. I’m glad I made this purchase.
TechUser35 –
The sound quality is great, and the setup was easy.
unhappy –
Sound is good but the remote seems confusing at times. Also to get the full experience the bestbuy team suggested to purchase more items.
BigLew –
When you pair the soundbar with subwoofer and the TV it is amazing. Thew sound they cover the whole room. You only need the tv remote as it controls all three. I like the soundbar a lot and does exactly what it i supposed to do which is be better than the TV speakers. Great purchase indeed.
JuliaC –
Had to return it. This sondbar started out great. It was easy to hook up and the voices were crystal clear and the sound effects were good while not overwhelming. Unfortunately it kept shutting off and/or disconnecting. Right in the middle of the Georgia Florida game. No sound! The soundbar would not turn back on and when it did it would turn off and refuse to come back on.
Ruth –
Poor reception, I tired setting up with a 75″ Sony TV and the audio would not sync
Ruby –
This really sounds great! The bass speaker is in the bar. The sound bar was simple to install and easier to listen to!
panamared –
good soundbar. I bought this sony soundbar for my new sony xr65a80l too get clearer vocals and it works so i like it. love the center channel also.
SteveF –
The sound bar would intermittently go silent for 2 to 7 seconds at a time. I left a v mail for a geek concerning this issue. I didn’t receive a response.
I returned it after about a week.
AuroraP –
It’s nice to have with a good quality of a soundbar for our TV purchase It has a clarity in sounds and nice to watch TV with a good matching soundbar
TroyK –
This is a typical Bose product which means it is high quality and easy to set up. The sound is good for a small soundbar and it was plug and play. My only complaint, there is no numerical scale, only a plus/minus.
Elbrayan –
Not to powerful not to clear just regular soundbar by Sony better quality is the A5000
More crystal clear soundbar and that effect of
Dobly sounds butt just don’t like that i have to use the speakers frome my tv for better sounds with this sony Bars i just don’t get it.
Unknown –
Every sound system and TV I own are Sony and never had any problems always the best at Best Buy.
minhD –
It was a pleasure to have owned this soundbar. I was surprised at how powerful this item delivered. I don’t use the soundbar for my big screen TV but as an independent USB player for my workspace in the garage. I works beautifully. I imagine it would be equally powerful when attach to the TV.
Sfurze76 –
Excellent sound quality perfect size for entertainment center
WillC –
