    I am a sony Camcorder owner! I started with Sony BetaCam! Then a big 8mm camcorder! A little 8mm! Digital 8mm! HD camcorder! And now 4K! This camcorder has a lot of extras! Some stuff I do not know what for! I like it also has manual focus if you want! The only thing I wish it had was a remote control! I have never spent this a much money on a camcorder! I have never drop a camcorder! However, This one is to much money to replace! So the 2 year warranty from Best Buy!

    This camera is a very good investment, I’ll explain why is that, the quality is top notch, the frame rate you can choose it has many options, you also can put a bigger storage, for me this camera is more useful for video than dslr cameras.

    I had to return this one. The issue was that in night recording, sometimes it won’t focus at all. Overall, this is a great camera for day and evening. Quality is superb. Very fast. Just open the screen and start recording in 2 seconds.

    Bought this camera a few months ago and I don’t regret it. Love having all precious family moments in one place. The viewfinder is not the best & the LCD display lacks in the bright outdoors but still a good overall camera.

    Impressive camcorder. The Zeiss lens seems to have a gyroscope built in making the shots look more natural. Have infrared light for shots with limited natural ambient light.

    I had researched this camera for months before actually buying it. I bought an open box version (excellent condition) of this camera and the camera itself was exactly what I expected. Works great! However, the open box part of this deal was very disappointing. In ‘excellent’ condition it is suppose to include all accessories and the manual. The camera came with the battery and HDMI cable. It did not contain the correct USB cable and all the charging cables/brick were missing. And no instruction manual was included. I contacted Best Buy support via their text chat and the short answer is that they were going to refund a portion of what I paid to cover the cost of the extra items and my time. I wanted the money credited back to my BB credit card. He said that couldn’t be done, but they would send me a gift card which could be applied to the credit card. Once I got the gift card I tried applying it to my credit card and all I got was ‘Nope, can’t be done. Good-bye’.
    So, the camera is great!! Open box process…. not so much.

    Just finished a season of filming High School and Junior football games. I have 2 of these to get a wide and tight angle from the sideline. Footage is so clear and smooth when filming at 60p. Highlight videos look amazing. I have also used this camera for 2 weddings and finished product looks beautiful.

    Sony’s software to edit film is ending. The battery lasts a long time, but the controls are hard to use as touch screen. Also only out is micro hdmi so hard to find. Bought a card reader but that didn’t work. Not user friendly, but I used it right out of the box learning on the fly. The battery lasted 4 hrs of continuous shooting so pleased about that. Hard to edit film without software. Sony doesn’t support Play Memories anymore and could not export edited film to memory card.

    Well its def alot heavier then last 4 video cameras.I guess quailty is heavier weights in a lil over a lb.Great incredible zoom.Uploading pro gram playmemories has its issues wit hthis camera.

    Awesome video camcorder.
    This AX-53 can be used for an extended period of time (complete soccer matches). The ZOOM is everything I need. I was not able to zoom in and out quickly enough with other cameras.
    The best !!!

    I have enjoyed it fully thus far. It cramps your hand at times but it was expected. I appreciate the automatic settings since I just wanted it for basic recording since i’m no expert or have much knowledge on it. I appreciate the option for photos and video that’s a nice touch and night vision is pretty interesting to. I might just be bias since I been wanting this for a while now and finally decided to get it.

    We bought this camera as an upgrade/replacement for an old Sony HD model. It is capable of great recordings but only under ideal conditions or when it feels like it. We use it mostly for action recordings of our dogs in agility competitions. The auto focus is iffy at best and completely useless at its worst. In less than ideal lighting it is terrible and the recordings are worthless. The WiFi transfer option is also very buggy when connecting to our phones and tablets, all Apple products. We still prefer to use actual video cameras over our phones for recording, mostly due to the zoom capabilities in cameras and the zoom limitations in smartphones but it is such a shame the manufacturers do not put the effort into creating quality products of this type anymore. Our last three Sony cameras have each been worse than the last model as far as if the features function correctly. We have owned this camera for a little over a year and are now replacing it with another brand in hopes of finding one that actually works.

    Love the camera but I really wish I bought it somewhere else other than Best Buy. I could not get help in store when I was purchasing the camera, so I bought a backup battery that wasn’t the right size for the camera. Now I’m stuck with an $80 battery and no back up thanks to Best Buy… the back up battery really would have came in handy on my big European trip but no help from any staff left me at a dead end so from now on, I’m taking my money elsewhere. See you never Best Buy

    video quality is very good. I have been using the video camara for my boys basketball games and family parties.
    It is easy to use even for someone like me with very minimal tech knowledge. The battery lasts beyond 3-4 basket ball games.

    I own a sound recording studio, but also record live choral, orchestral and band concerts, which many of my clients ask that I record video for as well. I have been using several older Sony HDR-CX-210 camcorders for about 12 years which only operate at 1k or 1080, but enable me to have multi-camera shots and edit them and my high quality audio in post production. I have known I needed a 4k camcorder for a while, but kept putting it off because it is not my main business, recording sound is. I did a lot of research and the Sony AX53 hit all my sweet spots. But I didn’t realize that 4k video it gives me is so much better, and that in post production, because the quality and resolution is so good, I can actually use it to zoom in and out of shots I’ve already recorded, and they still look great! So in essence, it’s like I had an extra camera and cameraman, and it has an extra audio input if needed!
