    Lens is so sharp it cuts like a knife. This is one of the many reasons to get into the Sony system, The lenses are tack sharp and there is no huge delineation like Canons L series lenses versus the other lenses whose front comes out which is really annoying. Honestly the normal Sony lenses are Z‘s branded and they are just as good often times as the G master lenses. During the Nikon D4 days that was a 4 megapixel camera. Between the Canon R5 and the Sony A7siii I get equally as good prints (and better in mine images) on a the BSI 12 megapixel sensor of the A7siii. The lenses are so sharp and the images are so good that it’s incredible. If you really care about megapixels you could have both the low light king A7siii and the A7iv or A7riv – Canon has nothing like this. The new R3 is great yet in low light it’s not even close.

    wow, 90mm can do the magic for various shots. Macro to ordinary shots with a blurred background. You will enjoy the quick focus and supreme quality.

    This is just amazing—the perspective of taking pictures in a new way of looking of any items around you will change once the lens is in the camera. I am using it in the A6000 and the pictures are as expected “preciosas” nice combination

    This lens is paired with a Sony A7 IV and I have to say its the best lens I have ever had. The autofocus is faster than most macros but the portraits this thing takes are unreal. The macro stuff is fun and very easy to get right with the manual focus and the use of the clutch. This is an insane value for the money and I wish this had been the first lens I purchased.

    Image quality and build are 10/10. Such an unbelievable lens. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because of the autofocus whir. When recording macro video, you can 100% hear the motors in your video.

    This lens is very versatile, I was able to get good portrait shots with separation with the background and it was able to get macro shots as well. Just remember there’s a switch on the side to switch between taking macro or portrait shots.

    This is an OUTSTANDING LENS!!! After getting it in the mail I put it on my a6500 and took a few shots. I could not believe the clarity of the photos I took. The ability to zoom in and still be crystal clear just blew me away. I can’t wait to take this under the water on my next dive !!! Upgrading from the 50mm which is equally a great lens.

    Excellent. Was a tossup between this lens and its primary Sigma competitor, and both are excellent. The Sony simply has more features, conveniences, and attention to detail like the included macro scaling printed on the lens barrel. First use was copying old photographs set up in a lightbox, and plan to do similar with slides as I build a custom lightbox where high resolution RAW files surpass scanning. The optical flatness of a macro lens is the desired tool vs the curvature of normal rectilinear lens. Waiting for the Sony authorized sale paid off, but wish Best Buy also participated in (or publicised the process) the Sony trade-in bonus that ran concurrent with the sale. I had a working Sigma 50 macro on Nikon mount that previously used with an adapter and would have traded in for the additional $150 bonus added to the $100 sale discount and could care less how much the trade value of the lens would have been.

    It’s an excellent lens that I can use for both macro and portrait photography.
    Here the pros:
    -The sharpness is just awesome. The edge to edge sharpness is very good.
    -Level of detail is very good.
    -The color rendition is very good
    -Switch between manual and autofocus is just with a shift of the front ring. I love this feature compared to the traditional switches which I used to forget earlier to switch.
    -love the creamy bokeh. Reduces a lot of my post processing work.

    Cons
    -Heavy. I need to continually readjust my tripod. You can feel that during macro as the focus point shifts down.
    – pricey. Would have loved to spend around 750.
    Still I got a good deal during Christmas from Bestbuy and got a 100$ discount.

    Frankly there are no real cons to this lens. I hope to have a better and more sturdier tripod in the future that may help with my macro and support this lens better.
    Overall, an excellent lens and no one will go wrong for buying this lens. It’s definitely a BESTBUY.
