    It’s a basic DVD player but the upscaling is a great feature and gives a really nice picture. It’s easy to hook up and set up for use. I like that a 6 ft HDMI cable.

    This was bought as a CD player at a good price. It works well with our existing audio equipment and was easy to install. It would be nice to see the track number playing displayed, but that may only be available on more expensive models.

    This inexpensive DVD player does a decent job of upconverting the picture to 4K. However, several discs in my library, all of which are in pristine condition and play perfectly in 4 older DVD players, do not load in these players. I’ve bought 2 of this model for myself as I’ve upgraded my TVs and a third one as a gift. Results across all 3 have been consistent.

    It does its job pretty well. Although it isn’t compatible with blu-ray, it does play dvds.

    When I play a wide screen movie, it comes out compressed on the screen, making everything looking thin and tall. There is nothing on the remote to change that. On my old Toshiba VHS/DVD player, it automatically adjusts for that, but not the Sony DVD player. I had to put aside the Sony Player and hook back up my Toshiba VHS/DVD player after getting serviced so I can watch movies in better formats. I do not recommend this Sony unit for wide screen movies. It is okay for old standard screen movies from the 1940’s, etc, or recorded TV shows, but not movies with wide screen.

    I bought this Sony DVD player to replace the old one I had, that also included a VHS player. The VHS player quit working several years ago and the DVD player quit working properly last month. It would accept the DVD but it wouldn’t play. This Sony DVD player is very easy to use.

    After receiving this product, it was missing the remote control. When I called to report the issue, the only alternative was to return the product via UPS or drive an hour to see if the store had one for me. I found a remote control on e-bay for approx. $10. I asked the agent on the phone, if they could credit me that amount. They told me it was not possible, which seemed to be the logical solution at the least expensive resolution. Instead I had to spend the time and gas to return the product to UPS in town, 3o minutes from my home. This left me very disatisfied with customer service, and will not do business again with Best Buy.

    Never have had a bad Sony product. Perfect size to travel in our camper and use for movies in the places we set up with no tv reception. We like off the beaten track and a movie in the evening to retire with.

    Love this dvd player so much I bought two. It has hdmi and rca so I have it hooked to two different Tvs and it plays in both simultaneously!
