  1. jim1791

This camera is fantastic at allow you to use the zoom and get pictures of nature and candid street scenes also. If you are new to cameras this one makes it pretty easy. If you don’t want to figure it out yourself just turn it to “automatic” for pictures and it comes out great. If you want a little more fun turn the dial to “scene” and choose one of those.
If you want to take video it gets a bit more complicated but nothing a quick youtube video won’t solve and you will have great video as well.

  2. PhotoGuy199

There is a lot more to learn even after having SONY dslr’s for over 40 years

  3. BigIrv

Amazing in every way. Lots and lots of features. Cant wait to take advantage of all of them

  4. Grumpy

Your prices are good. Your service is, unfortunately, very uninviting. Your staff are unwilling to help. You have to really try hard to get their attention. And when they do, they could be more cordial.
I will continue to shop, until I find an alternative.

  5. Gene

A great camera with lots of great features. Tremendous auto controls.

  6. 1978

Superb camera. I use this primarily as a work camera that requires fast operation and acquisition of my target and this camera has not let me down.

Outstanding optical and digital zoom capability and quality with ease of manipulation on this bridge camera.

Durable and good ergonomics in the design of this camera housing and functioning pieces.

I’ve had great success taking pictures of people, animals, and landscapes.

Great quality in photos and 4k videos.

I have not used the bluetooth functions yet, but a friend has told me that the bluetooth is great.

    Amazing value for the pricepoint.

Robust menu functions allow for tailoring specific shots. Good digital display that also tilts up and down only and has a little telescoping capability also. No horizontal tilt with the display.

My only two complaints have been with the date and time function and operating the camera in extreme heat situations. It says that there is a date and time function, but this camera only does the date as a display on images. I have to use another program to at time when I need to for work. The camera works very well in all temps but becomes slightly glitchy when zooming in temps above 105°F (Arizona temps). When the camera heats up inside these issues presented themselves. On the adverse, when I keep the camera cool, even when in the hot environments, the camera has not issues and performs great.

    I definitely recommend this camera.

  7. Mojo

Excellent for sports and distance photography. We looked at a lot of bridge cameras before settling on this model. Great zoom quality, nice burst, great sensor image quality, all around a lot in one package without taking the leap to a bigger system.

  8. Chris

This is a great camera! Lots of options and takes great pictures!

  9. Nevada

Great Sony camera. The Sony brand always is the best.

  10. BlackDog

Fantastic little camera. Great reach. Steep learning curve if you’re new to Sony.

  11. jgsdol

The camera os very easy ro operate and takes beautiful pictures.

  12. Stud

This is a great all around carry weather Resistant bridge camera that is easy to carry and gives you a 600 Zoom

  13. Teddyb

What a disappointment! It’s twice as heavy as my DSC HX300 and the zoom isn’t as good. The resulting pictures may be better, but how can I tell without buying it (can’t return a used camera, can you?).
At least for me, this isn’t the right fit.

  14. Nerdish22

Wonderful camera even for beginners. Very easy to use.

  15. JYMT

Great camera, easy to use, and super advanced so it can take really nice photos

  16. MacQueen

Turned out to be very complicated. High quality but our iPhone took better pics and was sooooo much easier to use

  17. Marty

Great camera. Purchased as a “carry with me always” camera as opposed to taking a dslr + one or more lens….gets heavy! Example is the zoo… you may need close up or far off. This provides both. Does have a learning curve. Only complaint is I was told it would arrive 6/9 but it did not come until late afternoon on the 10th and I had to leave town before it arrived so I lost a week of my 15 day return policy….since I don’t plan to return I did not complain

  18. Sonyrx10

Poor pictures quality. For that high price its a very bad camera

  19. DaveD

My wife loves the camera…She has a Canon Mark6 II with a 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 lens, but she mostly uses the Sony for her bird photography…She likes the Canon when she’s using her tripod, but it’s too heavy with the big lens attached for carrying around for hours looking for birds…Her pictures with the Sony really turn out well and get her a lot of great shots with very good quality…The only drawback she’s mentioned is that in low light situations it’s hard for her to really get the sharp shots she’s after…Overall she is really well pleased with her Mother’s Day present from our puppy!……

  20. Lindamz

i debated for months to make this purchased because it is kind of pricey, but I am very pleased with this camera. Still have lots to learn, with all the bells and whistles, but so far, so great!

  21. HP62XL

    The RX10 IV is remarkable!!!
    Autofocus is faster than fast.
Image quality is unbelievable and color saturation is outstanding.
Wish I would have bought this sooner!!!

  22. TomStephC

This is an amazing camera for the price point. Many great things can be said about it’s capabilities, but to sum up the highlights for me… The autofocus speed is blazingly fast and in combination with the shutter speed and system recovery time between shots, combined with amazing optics, mean you can get some of the best shots your skills and creativity will allow.

  23. Casper71

Takes a little getting used to and I had to watch a few YouTube videos but it’s a fun camera and it’s pretty easy to use and you can get some really good close-ups

  24. Billy

not sure what all the fuss is for this… a huge camera and OK image quality for the size… I would get an actual SLR with a better sensor and detachable zoom lens – otherwise not sure this is really a point-and-shoot.

  25. NanaP

This is our second purchase of this camera. We take thousands of pictures each year and this is our go to camera now. We no longer have to carry a heavy 600 mm lens that we had to change onto our camera to take distance wildlife shots. IT IS AMAZING. I received one as a gift for our anniversary and loved it so much I got my husband one for Christmas. This will make our vacationing so much easier and we love SONY products,

  26. Smeyer

I’m normally a Nikon Girl (still have one) but this Sony is spectacular. I love that it goes to 600 MM, The ziess lens is tack sharp. Just do it!

  27. jramirez1918

Love this camera. Yeah it’s a bit pricey but honestly this is worth it. I think it comes up a bit short on portrait photos but the zoom is so worth it. If you attend sporting events, bird watch or really anything in nature this thing will do the job for you. It’s not small but it’s not so big as to be unwieldy and since it’s a fixed lens it’s less of a challenge to get into some places where detachable lenses are seen as “professional cameras” and forbidden.

  28. Good

Excellent travel camera. Large zoom range and good low light performance. Good color.

  29. Billy

As a 1 inch cmos digital camera it surprised me! Yes comparing to other 1 in cmos cameras it’s not cheap but it captures stunning pics! I have been waiting for

  30. JoR1

A great bridge camera for the amateur photographer who wants a camera with wildlife or sports capabilities without spending a fortune. 24-600mm lens and 24 FPS. amazing!

  31. Md76

Love it! It take great photos and records great videos as well.

  32. Ron14

Great camera with 600mm optical zoom. Steep learning curve to use all of the features.

  33. JoeT

A very wonderful camera that I am learning to use. The auto features do a great job for most situations, but as I become more familiar with it, I’m sure I’ll like it even more.

  34. ErtD

It’s an old technology camera but the images are perfect, very easy to use and learn if you are new to photography.

  35. LindaC

Have used only once excellent pictures. Wish viewer on back reversed to protect it from being scratched.

  36. JamesP

Everything about it as written by Sony is accurate. I have just two observations – it is a heavy camera; and you can’t crop a taken photo and save it on the camera, has to be done by a computer. I just assumed you could but I contacted Sony to make sure and this camera does not have this feature.

  37. GTech

Had an upcoming trip with the grandkids and did not want to be carrying a full size backpack with for my camera and lenses as I usually do. So I began checking and researching cameras that would best fulfill my needs. This Sony, (I shoot Canon), ticked almost all the boxes for me. Had a couple of days to play with it and learn the menus, (ouch), and functions before the trip. It would be helpful if there were more functions or controls on the body so you would not have to go into the menus for
some of the basics. Lighted shooting for photos and video was sharp and accurate and as expected darker situations were more challenging but you learn to compensate and accept what it can do and can’t, had my share of grainy ones. And don’t expect much out of the on camera flash, had a few shots with a nice lens shadow, was able to crop it out. Better to invest in a decent mountable flash. I am very happy with what this camera could do and it’s a lot easier packing and traveling. Being a Total Tech member at Best Buy, I could have returned it if I was not satisfied, but decided to keep and use it for my upcoming trips. If Sony makes an updated version that addresses a couple of the shortcomings, (sensor size, controls), I would probably purchase it. Expensive, but for my purposes, worth it.

  38. BaileyC

Love this camera – very user friendly but lots of bells and whistles to learn how to use!

  39. RandyM

Great camera! Easy to use. Takes great pictures. Close or far away.

  40. Hawker

Fantastic camera for someone who doesn’t want to carry a lot of accessories or lenses around with them. Very capable camera with responsive feel and great results. The best bridge camera you will find.

  41. Onkar

Best camera for wild life photography. Zoom is amazing

  42. JohnC

I read lots of reviews before buying this camera. I used it during a 2 week trip to Alaska. I mostly used the auto setting and got many great pictures.

  43. VirgilA

Excellent for videography, easy to use and the battery life lasts a long time

  44. GilbertC

Perfect all around camera. Excellent quality. Highly recommend

  45. EECC

The open-box camera itself is in excellent condition. Very satisfied. Would purchase again. Operates and performs as expected. The camera zoom range is incredible and picture quality is also excellent. Very happy with the purchase. The only thing I am not completely satisfied is the condition of the box. It was torn.

  46. KarenT

Great camera when you want something all in one. Powerful Zeiss zoom lens.

  47. DouginNorCal

Nothing new to mention regarding the various advantages, as all of the earlier reviews have touched on the strengths of the camera. What I like about the camera is the 20x optical zoom and the ~1” 20 mp sensor. That combination allows for some great photos to be taken.

  48. StaceyN

Amazing camera, easy to use and great battery life. This replaced our traditional DSLR camera and all the lenses.

  49. itsevie

Excellent camera! I love the range of the zoom! The camera is great for burst shots and with the right sd card, there’s no lag time within the burst shooting. Awesome camera!!

  50. AlaskaJaxx

I own the RX100v5, upgraded to it from a v2, and have shot Sony full frame since the v2, now almost a decade ago. I still shoot my Alpha 7c 4 and ZV-E1 for candid and street photography but the RX10 is a win on both fronts.
I love the camera, it’s perfect balance and low weight for such a powerhouse and excellent optic.
The power of the zoom is incredibly helpful in so many situations and the colors, accuracy of the AF, and the high frame rate shooting makes it a blast to use for sports.
Thee 1″ sensor absolutely helps in low light too, not quite the sensor size of a full frame but without pixel binning, the motion capture on this thing is superb! Stabilization is excellent and slow motion shots look like they were taken by a rig ten times, 25 times the cost of the new RX10 IV.

Couldn’t be happier, nor could my shoulder! It’s nice to leave the big one at home and stash the RX100 in a shirt pocket in case I shoot too MUCH 4K:)

The only complaint, if you’d call it that because it’s definitely not, as it’s tough to beat physics and battery chemistry – while getting better constantly, still has a way to go before we can shoot a full day a lot with a single battery…. but that’s why they make spares!
Killer camera, usually fine SOC without running through Lightroom – just a couple RAW adjustments if you’re shooting for perfection, otherwise the straight outta camera JPEGs are insane! Spectacular

Keep up the amazing job Sony, I switched from Canon and the 5DMk2 to Sony 15 years ago now, and couldn’t be happier!
