    This is my first experience with center channel and 5.1 surround sound. Yeah, I know, welcome to the 21st century. The SSCS8 is paired with 4 Sony SSCS5 boookshelf for the front and surrounds, 2 Sony SACS9 subswoofers, and driven by a Sony STR-DA5400ES receiver fed with the 5.1 signal via optical from a Sony smart TV. I don’t know how much more “matched” this setup could be.

    The SSCS8 does what is asked of it as a center channel. The dialog is clear and accurate from the two center seating positions. It does not reproduce bass well but it is not asked to do that.

    If you are pairing it with the SSCS5s and a sub and have reasonable expectations for a $100 speaker, then you won’t be disappointed.

    I bought this to upgrade my center channel speaker and currently utilize it with a Pioneer VSX-LX301, and 4 other Yamaha satellite/smaller book shelf style speakers. This Sony speaker is boss. Its so loud, it completely drowns out the other speakers in a smaller living room. I used to turn my phones volume all the way while listening to music via bluetooth through the receiver. This thing kicks. I am even considering just removing the other speakers from my setup and just use this thing. Its big and loud, and in sale, so go get one. Got 4 stars because the speaker doesnt have inputs or any features other than just being a speaker.

    Great having a REAL stereo again, with the various components and this enhancement to sound. Thanks to Best Buy for introducing me to this brand. Also appreciate the purchase option of Excellent Open Box to save a little cash when rebuilding a system.

    This center has a surprising amount of power and clarity. I picked mine up on sale but would say its worth the full price. Added into my setup to make a 3.1 for now and my listening experience has changed for the better!

    This is the second of three reviews I’m making for this entire audio system. The audio quality is beyond amazing. The tower speakers were a hazard for our baby we just had. This speaker has a soft mesh in front and I didn’t want to risk the baby poking holes in it. The entire speaker system is amazing. Buy it now!

    Have this connected to my receiver along with two Sony bookshelf speakers and a sub. The turntable sounds great and when I run the TV through the system it’s not quite surround sound but it sure is satisfying.

    Sony does it again! I got this connected to my Sony receiver and Polk audio speaker with a Sony Sub woofer and Boy what a theater!! Sound is so clear when speaking from Center speaker would recommend for any one needing one.

    Bought this to match the sscs5’s for tamber matching. Using the MultEQ-X app and REW combined gives me a flat response to create whatever house curve I want to use. Sounds extremely crisp and not to bright or boomy. Initially it was muddy sounding to me in my theater, after adjustments it sounds amazing!
