Very light lens (in a good way). I feel like I’d keep it on the camera the most from now on. It’s sharp, extremely fast focus, and silent. It is also well balanced on the camera. Very easy to move with it. I guess that’s what they claim about it being good for gimbals, but I don’t have a gimbal to compare. The bokeh is good if you get very close to the subject. If you need 16-35 and don’t mind F4, this lens is the best. Don’t forget the video which all other lenses in this category have issues with.

Been trying this out for video and photography. Very light weight, easy to use, no telescoping of lens (critical for a gimbal), no vignetting that I could tell, sharp photos.

Perfect walkaround lens. Great for landscape and for street photography. Super sharp corner to corner thought the focal length. This lens is targeted for video but love this for photography. Very lightweight and perfectly balanced on my Sony A9 camera.

I attempted to buy a Zoom Lens, this was a decent lens but, as most of the lenses I own are f1.2 to f1.8, with a few f2.5. So, going to f4.0 was a challenge. The lens does what it is supposed to do, it just wasn’t for me.

F4 is pretty limiting, but I knew that when purchasing this lens. The lightweight and PZ feature is awesome. I don’t mind the F4 as much as the lack of IQ specifically how sharp this lens is. The Tamron 17-28 2.8 is much sharper however you are loosing a few mm on the zoom end. This would make an excellent travel or hiking lens. It’s a good lens but not great. The price isn’t extremely steep either. Maybe it’ll grow on me as I use it more, but as far as my first impressions I am not impressed.

Amazing lens! The size of this is so incredible, about the size of a kit lens maybe a little smaller. The electronic zoom and focus is a little odd at first but you get used to it and it’s actually really nice. Size and weight are always a huge deal to me and no problems hauling this around all day!

Convenient light power zoom lens, but…..
The contrast is not good.
Huge distracting flares.
Lens hood is no help in reducing flares. If the sun is above, the contrast will decrease and you will see flares all over. Make sure the sun is always behind.
The lens is usable, considering that I got it at OpenBox price. it has some limitations, but can be manageable if the light source is behind.
The attached screenshot shows reduced contrast when the light source is above. The image was taken at 11 am at F4 24mm.

Great travel lens. Bought it to take to my Italy trip. Needed something small, light weight with wide angle to capture the great scenery. Expensive but compared to other lenses with the similar focal length, it’s the best choice. Great quality. Pictures comes out sharp.

Lightweight wide angle zoom lens. Great lens for hiking or travel. The power zoom feature works well. Optical quality is very good. Compared to the old 16-35 ZA (which is also a good lens), this is better optically and quite a bit lighter. If you don’t need a larger aperture, this is the wide angle zoom to get for Sony E mount cameras.

What an amazing lens for travel and hikes. I have a 16-35GM lens and with my tennis elbow issues decided to go light on my Madeira Hiking trip and got this lens. I am amazed at how good the lens is. Almost sharp edges as well. I need to sell my GM lens as I feel this is just as good or better. The only time I needed to change to 20mm f1.8 prime was when shooting inside churches as f4 is not wide enough.

The small size and build quality are the first indication that this lens might never leave your camera body but what comes next is the absolute pleasure of seeing what this lens produces shot after shot or frame after frame. A must have lens!

Thera many important features in this lens, aperture ring excellent, power zoom useful, AF/MF, good, focus and costume bottom good, Focus and Zoom rings above average, F4 not so good y low light, but for street and landscape photography in day time awesome, but I feel the price should be no more than $1000, I forgot Bestbuy charge fee for returns I won’t do it again. That is just my personal opinion.

Did my research and watched multiple videos but, after having the Lens in hand i realized how good it really was. While yes its a F4 it can still with stand most scenarios because at least for me I shoot mostly in the day. The low light isn’t bad but it can always be better. Super sharp, very light weight. Love the ability to control the f-stop from the lens instead of the camera. Also, the aperture ring can be used clicked or declicked for smooth transition while doing video. The zoom is smooth. The auto focus is very accurate and very fast.

This lens is a great value for the price. The EZ is the best and most natural feeling electric zoom I’ve used. I haven’t used any other lens in this focal range, but I ended up going for this one because F4 wasn’t an issue for me. Try watching youtube reviews on some comparisons to get a better idea on the performance of this lens. I would highly recommend this lens for anyone who doesn’t need anything with a lower aperture!

I purchased this lens to use on my Sony A7RV. As far as IQ and rendering, this lens is just as sharp as its bigger GMii sibling. It has better IQ than the previous GM 16-35! It’s small size and light weight make it a stellar choice for street, landscape, and general photo sessions. The demanding 61 mp sensor on my A7RV plays very well with this lens, so the 33mp A7IV would be even better (I own that camera as well). I’m pairing this with another fantastic Sony lens, the Sony 20-70 F/4.
