The Sony Alpha 7 II is a remarkable full-frame mirrorless camera that seamlessly blends cutting-edge technology with a compact design. From the moment I picked up this camera, I was impressed by its build quality and ergonomics. The robust magnesium alloy body not only feels durable but also exudes a sense of professionalism.
One of the standout features of the Alpha 7 II is its exceptional image quality. The full-frame sensor delivers stunning clarity and rich detail, even in challenging lighting conditions. The dynamic range is impressive, allowing for strikingly vivid colors and deep shadows. The BIONZ X image processor contributes to fast and accurate autofocus, ensuring that you capture those fleeting moments with precision.

This feature proves especially beneficial in low-light situations or when shooting without a tripod. The tilting LCD screen and high-resolution electronic viewfinder add to the overall shooting experience, offering versatility and aiding composition.

I switched from a Canon DSLR to this entry level mirrorless A7ii, and what a difference! Very happy with my purchase.
RobertM –
Well built. Highly compatible with third party components. Easy to learn how to use. Menu interface is not as difficult to learn as some have stated.
Rodopan –
Just recently bought this for a very photogenic family member and she loves it. Easy to use and was very interested in the cameras ability to send pictures directly to smartphone.
RichardH –
Does everything you need it to do, and more. Purchased for a teenager doing sports photography, and he is making BANK$
YosiL –
Awesome camera. I’m a film student and learning to use the camera has been amazing. If the screen was flippable it would be soo much better but other than that it’s great. I knew what I was getting when I bought. The screen doesn’t bother me much because I have a monitor to be able to see myself when I’m filming alone. If you’re doing projects make sure to get extra batteries. I love my camera so far and can’t wait for my future projects using this camera!
Mamatagami –
Nightmare, cannot connect to wifi. Checked every forum online for a fix. Tried everything possible. Cannot connect to wifi, the app, remote app does not function. Every forum that has same issues says they needed to send in for repairs to have mother board replaced?? It’s a BRAND NEW $1000 camera! Come on Sony, what a disappointment. Do not recommend at ALL. Will he returning
JackieD –
I purchased this camera for my husband pre black Friday sale. He’s been mentioning for awhile now about wanting a semi professional camera so when I saw this one on sale I had to have it. He opened it Christmas Day and I have to say I am genuinely pleased with the quality, stealth and overall appearance of this camera. We immediately took pictures of the kids and wow the detail in the pictures really show. I’ve already ordered a Lowepro backpack to house the camera in when we go on vacation. If you are thinking about getting a camera I say get it especially while it’s still on sale!
AkhilaM –
Its more than worth for the price and the camera is awesome with its features. I am a beginner and enjoying the great features of it.
rolexlens –

I must commend Joshua Chapman. I was looking for a good camera that will enhance my hobby. His expertise was so clear and helpful. He showed me many of the cameras. He asked me questions on how I wanted to use the camera and showed me the differences. He was very experienced and was able to show me the advantages of the different cameras.
He is a very professional representative of Best Buy. Keep up the great job. I will be back again.

There are a number of cameras in this price-point from Nikon (Z6II), Canon (R6II), Panasonic (S5II / IIX) and the Sony is a bit higher than all of them. Typical Sony AF, which is stellar, but everything else felt just average. After a disappointing experience I returned and opted for the Panasonic S5IIX, for $200 less (retail price). Video much better, photos too. The AF isnt quite as Sony, but 90% as-good. Overall I feel Sony has lost a step. They have too many camera options and are priced about 15-20% above where they belong. I would take the R6II over the A7IV, and recommend the Panasonic S5Ii ($2,299) or S5IIX ($2,499 and extra video festures) for a better experience and value for money. Both of these feel better in the hand also:
