    I bought the Sony 30mm Macro lens primarily to shoot flowers with my A6000. This combination has worked very well and I have taken a number of exceptional shots with it. I have been very pleased with the image quality as well as the close focus capability

    Since I would love to get into the world of macro photography but cannot afford to purchase the incredible Sony FE 90mm macro lens, I began to research affordable, but sharp macro lenses. After watching many YouTube videos I decided to purchased this Sony 30mm f3.5 macro lens for my Sony A6000 and am amazed at the sharp detail that it captures and how close you can get to what you are trying to photograph! It also gives you great bokeh/background blur which keeps the attention on your subject. This silver lens is more of a platinum silver just so you know, and is lightweight and very well made. I encourage you to watch some YouTube videos so that you can see just how amazing this lens really is at such an affordable price! You can also use it for much more than just macro photography.     I am enjoying this lens a lot. Very sharp images both indoors and out out. I use it on a Sony a6000 and you sometimes have to be a little patient with the AF but I’m getting some great images. If you want to have some fun with macro get this lens.

    Excellent clarity on the macro images I’ve taken. Although there isn’t OSS the images are still sharp and clear once I’ve locked focus. In short I love this lens! It completes my “basic kit” for my a6000 with my 16-50 mm, 55-210 mm lenses. I’ve taken lots of “keepers” with this combination.

    This is a light macro lens that allows very nice close-up macro photos at a close range. The autofocus is fast, however not as fast as the dedicated lens that came along with the Sony a6000 camera. However they pair nicely and without any problems.
    I am able to shoot in macro and non-macro modes and good portraits and landscape shots as well.
    I would recommend a protective UV lens filter to prevent any scratches.
    Best Buy provided fast and free shipping which was great as well.
    Overall, very happy with the purchase and recommend this as a macro lens for Sony.

    I needed a macro lens for some close up shots. This provides clear images at close range on my Sony A6000. Best to use Sony lenses on Sony cameras in my opinion.

    This lens pairs perfectly with my Sony a6000! SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT by the way… Helpful tip: just keep in mind – you’ll likely need a TRIPOD to use this lens to reduce camera shake.

    I purchased the Sony 30mm f/3.5 Macro Lens to use with my Sony a6000 mirrorless digital camera: I love close-up photos.

    The lens is light and offers full functionality with my a6000 – another reason I chose this lens. Additionally, the price (slightly less than $300) fit my budget.

    I was not disappointed. The Sony 30mm f/3.5 macro lens provides clear sharp images (please see accompanying photos). Of course, because the focal distance is much shorter than non-macro lenses you have to get very close to the photo subject, Practice is needed to capture the desired images.

    Also, this macro lens, as with most macro lenses, is difficult to use if your subject moves a lot – butterflies, for example. But, it can be done; just know it takes a lot of patience.

    Although I haven’t personally used it for a portrait lens, I understand it does a good job for those situations.

    Overall, I am happy with the Sony 30mm f/3.5 macro lens.

    Sweet lens! This is my go to lens for macro shots. It picks up the smallest details and pretty fast too. It also can be used for portrait shots with a nice bokeh effect.

    It can capture bugs that don’t move.

    Cons
    You have to be real close to the subject to get a macro picture. Hopping bugs would jump by the time you get close to it.
