This lens is a beast!
But being a beast, comes with size and weight! Just be ready for how massive it is.
I’ve used it for nature and sports video/photo and it has been great with my Sony A7sIII. Sharp and durable, but not easy to climb mountains with it on your back.
MBA7iii –
Although a little heavy this lens is amazing.
The auto focus to manual button a huge plus.
Tomatoes –
Amazing zoom lens. Images are very sharp and the build quality is great. It is on the heavy side though. Grabs focus fast on my A7III
Craig24617 –
Very satisfied with this lens. Excellent images even in low light. Lightweight. Easily adjsuable.
Vagabond –
Super clear glass – very happy with the lens. We bought Open Box and saved $$ – it arrived exactly as if it were new.
BARBY –
I love this lens. I don’t have words to describe it. My pictures have great quality since I bought this beast. It’s worth the money. I really recommend it if you are interested in taking great quality pictures.

Aloha,
My order arrived in 4 days at my local Best Buy and with curbside pick up it was a breeze. I am happy with my purchase and can’t wait to fully enjoy all the perks of the 200-600mm lens. The camera store I originally went to didn’t have this lens and it would be on back order if I wanted it. I checked online at Best Buy and never regretted it from there…

Bought for bird photography to get a little more reach and was not disappointed. Images are tack-sharp, zoom is internal with a nice short throw. Only complaint, its not the best for hiking, but its probably the smallest full frame 600mm you’re gonna find.
Trihelix –
If you’re a wildlife photographer, this is the very best consumer 600mm lens on the market.
Awesome –
Im very happy with this lens! I initially got tamron 100-500. The tracking wasnt the greatest and slightly shorter in reach. I have been able to get some good shots .
MikesPhotos –
This is a great lens. Perfect for birding and wildlife.

This Sony 200-600mm is my first longer lens purchase. I researched several lenses and decided on this Sony product.
Technical and user reviews guided me to the Sony. And, the price was within my budget.
I am a nature photography enthusiast and certainly not a professional, but this lens meets my needs and then some.
As with any new lens, there’s a learning curve – but, for me, that’s part of the enjoyment.
This lens is heavier than any other you may use. It’s possible to shoot free-hand, but after a relatively short time, your arms will fatigue and, for close-up shots, holding the camera/lens still enough can be a real challenge. I use a monopod for stability which works great and is much more portable than a tripod.
Check the specifications for the lens and your camera (info available on Sony’s website), but my understanding is this lens is compatible with Sony alpha series cameras: I currently use it with a Sony a6000 (I don’t use a teleconverter).
I really like this lens and look forward to capturing some great images.

Very crisp pictures once I figured out how to use the manual focus for nesting birds with branches in front of them. Beautiful colors.
The lens is very heavy. I have not used a tripod yet but will
be. The focus capture for a clear picture is rather slow using the auto feature but once it focuses it does an amazing job. I also like that it goes down to 200 mm for pics that aren’t so far away.

I am very impressed with this lens and it seems to amaze me every time I use it. I was a little taken back by the price but after using it I understand, it is a well build and great product. I do not regret my purchase.

I love this lens.. Don’t get me wrong it is big …. but man it works great been using it on the Sony A7iv even in crop mode at 900mm it produces GREAT PHOTO’S
Camman –
Love this! Makes it fun capturing wildlife and nature. I wish the footplate was Arca-Swiss compatible, but this is not a deal breaker. Great picture and build quality. Here’s a short video I made
SN2200 –
Overall pleased with this lens. Not particularly thrilled at the weight, but that is somewhat expected. Image quality is good, that too expected. I chose this specifically because the zoom is internal, the lens does not extend which given the weight could have an impact in some situations.
Bigdaddy –
Can get any shot with this lens from a distance. I wish the aperture was lower but all in all a great lens
akamal –
Fast, precise AF tracks, Light weight. Love internal zoom mechanism.
Timbo –
Incredibly sharp zoom. Great for wildlife. Coupled with 1.4x teleconverter for even longer reach.
NaVD –
Amazing lens for wildlife and birding…. Perfect for a hobbyist
360vistamedia –
This lens works really well with sony A7r4 and the 2x teleconverter. This lense has great color and speed. Can really be used well at an air show or sport.
AndresG –
This is a lens if you don’t want to need 1,4x or 2x converters that will take one or two stops of light away from other shorter lenses. great for wild life, compressed landscapes. Not a lens for a beginner. It takes some skill to use. its heavy but if you are OK with that it can be great.
MyLens –
I purchased this lens for wildlife photography. I was happy with the photos that I shot when the lens was on a tripod. BTW, the collar did not fit on my tripod, so I had to purchase one that would. I was hoping to be able to shoot some photos handheld (for times when it’s impossible to use your tripod), but those shots weren’t sharp.
Unknown –
Great for wildlife and much more just use your imagination
DianaK –
Love it!! Works great and gorgeous photos!Very pleased!
Jrichbestballa –
I honestly feel like this Lens is underrated. Great lens for sports and long distance.
CoyotePrettyPhotography –
Best lens in its class compared to nikon 200-500, Sigma and Tamron 150-600, and canon 100-400.
Shay –
I absolutely love this lens! It took my wild life photography to another level. I added the 1.2 converter as well to give me even further zoom. The images are very sharp! Captures fast action as well.
Moses –
I wasn’t sure if this lens would keep up with the high pace shooting of motorsports. This lens brought my Sony a7iii back to life. Yes, that’s right. This lens is sharp, gorgeous compression, fast focusing, and looks amazing. I would highly recommend this for any photographer or video team that is doing motorsports.

Please read the instructions on what each mode does. This will help secure a sharp image.

Title: Unparalleled Lens with Reliable Protection!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
The Sony 200-600mm G lens is simply phenomenal. Its versatile focus range lets me shoot distant or close subjects with ease. The rapid autofocus and image stabilization ensure sharp, blur-free photos every time. Despite its powerful features, the lens remains compact and durable, standing up to various weather conditions.
The purchase experience at Best Buy was seamless, and the added assurance of their warranty made me feel secure about this investment. In short, this lens is a top-notch addition to any camera setup, and I couldn’t be happier with the quality and protection offered by Best Buy.
KeepItSimple –
Amazing lens. Definitely a keeper. Pros: Sharp, great zoom range, G-lens quality. Cons: HEAVY and bulky. Given the zoom range of 600mm, no surprises on its weight.
I took a picture of the moon. The lens was mounted to an a7RIVA.
Would I recommend to a friend? Absolutely!!
SonyLoveButDoesntFit –
Sony quality zoom lens. Great for birding and sporting events and other far away things.
EmilyD –
This lens is one of my favorites in my collection. It is great for birds/wildlife and takes clear and sharp photos. The large size does take some getting used to, but the size of the lens just comes with the territory of a lens of this capability.
SonosSystem –
Very happy with the purchase. Has been easy to use and provides sharp images . Really helped my abilty to photograph my grand’daughters graduation and ducks and geese on the pond behind my house.
Danden –
The lens is working really well for what I need it to do
DaleG –
I photograph my kids’ sporting events and from 150-200’ away using just a monopod, I can see individual eyebrow hairs. This lens is wonderful. The only drawback is the bokeh doesn’t blur very much if the subject is mixed in with other objects or people who are within 20 feet. But for the difference in price to the next model up, I can justify saving $8000.
ArunlalS –
I am so glad I bought it , It is a slow lens but I guess for the price I still prefer it over the Sigma.
daodi –
Best len for wildlife and birds, little bit heavy.
rebecca –
wonderful lens
it is a bit heavy on the one end so a tripod may work best
davidg –
Warning! Hard to focus! It’s a great lens for telephoto photography, and it certainly has SONY quality, but because of its relatively slow speed (high aperture) it’s hard to get clean, focused shots at distance–ESPECIALLY in lower light situations. And that’s even with the internal OSS AND the camera’s optical image stabilization.
So, unless you have the patience for wildlife photography, and a sturdy monopod or tripod, don’t bother with this lens. Did I mention that it’s heavy? If you’re still interested in buying this lens, try it out first, either by borrowing one or renting one. Really, you might be very disappointed if you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into. I sure was.
RolaydeD –
good lens, very sharp despite being an f4, good sharpness, very good autofocus, perfect for wildlife photography
HowardS –
Love this lens, I use it on my Sony A7R4, 600mm is great but in crop mode it goes to 900mm, game changer right there! Love the internal zooming and the stability is great. I shoot air shows with it and its does excellent.
JaimeM –
The best telephoto zoom ever, The best in the market
NathanR –
Fantastic lens. I use it on a range of wildlife work and it has exceeded all expectations. Great value
AshwinT –
Its a great lens to shoot wildlife photographs and videos with this lens. This is the lens I feel budget friendly when compared with other G master lenses.
Jason –
Fantastic lens for the price point. It is definitely a good light day lens due to the f6.3 aperture though.
Tiger –
Item was in nice condition and packaging. The customer service was good. I recommend buying open box item.

This lens is AMAZING. It’s INCREDIBLY sharp and its great for wildlife photography. 100% recommend.
