    Be aware that this lens is sensitive and can easily be damaged… warrantee is strongly recommended. Otherwise awesome lens for the price.

    We bought the camera as an open box w/o the lens and opted to buy the 50-250 lens. You definitely need the 16-50 lens for indoors or close up outdoors events.

    This does hold a great punch for its size. In comparison to all the other lenses this is ity bity and does a great job. Can fit easily into your carrying bag and can be quickly pulled out for pictures. Love it!

    I read Ken Rockwell’s review where he compared this lens to the Sony/ Zeiss 24-70mm f4. He stated that two were on par in image quality but, this one at a fraction of the cost. He was right! Granted, this is not a pro lens but it excels in portability and features; OSS, power zoom and pancake design.

    The SELP1650 is a great compact lens for Sony’s small E-mount cameras. It’s telescoping design is perfect for small bags and purses. It is certainly not the sharpest or brightest lens in the E-mount line, but it is adequate for vacation photos, snapshots, and other low-demand settings and it works well with the phase-detect autofocus on many of Sony’s newer mirror-less cameras. The lens also has optical stabilization.

    The SELP1650 has a single ring that functions both as a zoom (when in automatic focus mode) and a focus ring (when in manual focus mode). A slide on the side of the lens can be used to zoom in either focus mode.

    This is an amazing lens that is completely portable, has great color rendition and is extremely sharp in the center. Optical Stabilization gives you the ability to hand hold in low light for razor sharp images. This 16-50 lens condenses down to pancake size when not in use and can be extended up to 100mm with digital clear zoom, while maintaining excellent image quality. This kit lens will give you outstanding results and an extremely useful effective range of 24-75, the perfect mid range zoom. Don’t listen to the negative reviews, this is a quality lens, Sony hit a home run and the upgraded lenses are much more expensive for very little gain in IQ. Use this lens, work on your photography, develop your skill set and THEN go look for new lenses. This could very well be the only lens you ever need on the Sony crop system. Happy shooting

    The SONY SELP1650 lens does the trick for your travel purpose. Shoots great for outdoor whether it’s sunny or cloudy. I love this lens because of the weight and compact form.

    Only concern is that the motor for zoom control might wear out in time. But good thing you still can control the zoom manually.

    Camera is easy to use and takes quality pictures. Only criticism is that lens is easily damaged. You must refrain from even the smallest bumps or risk lens malfunction. This purchase was to replace original lens that came with camera.

    This is a great addition to the Sony A6000, 6300, and 6500 if your camera didn’t come with one. It’s the only lens that fits and allows you to use the built in flash. This lens allows this camera fit in a big pocket.

    This is a great lens for everyday shots from portraits, to some car shots with a great landscape backdrop. I got the open box because it was the only one left, so it has a few minor blemishes around the outer edges, but overall a good lens

    We bought this lens for its more compact size. It is much smaller than the 18-135mm kit lens that came with the camera when I purchased it. This seems like it will be very good for the intended purpose. Very happy with pictures so far.

    Not the sharpest lens for Sony’s APS-C lineup however the best value for it’s price. Great for vlogging especially with OSS!

    I barely use it anymore because I finally saved up for the powerful Sony 16-55mm F/2.8 G lens, however I still use this lens as my B lens!

    I call this 16-50mm Sony lens a quality lens: sharpness, compactness, and cost all align for the end result. It’s not the sharpest lens in the Sony E-mount, to be sure, but for the price and size it’s a pretty much must-have in the camera bag for any Sony a6XXX camera owner.

    Great little lens. Huge zoom range in a very compact package. Most of my use is for video where a faster lens is needed to control the range of focus. But this is great for a walking around lens and still photos on the Sony A6600.
