    We are in the middle of a remodel. Still have a bit to go but decided to get the system installed now. The Sonos in ceiling speakers disappear into the ceiling. No sound distortion and excellent sound, soft listening and even at high volume. Very happy with this purchase and the installation. So far so good!

    We recently remodeled our kitchen and put a stereo pair of these speakers in the ceiling about 6 feet apart (per Sonos guidelines), centered on the main prep area. They are powered by the new Sonos amp using 14 gauge in-wall speaker wire. The sound is very good for in-ceiling speakers with a nice range of tones and plenty of power and bass. They’re no match for my stereo pair of Play 5’s in the living room but that’s expected, given the price. With all four speakers going, the first floor of our house is rockin’! The in-ceiling speakers are very discrete and blend in well, freeing up the countertop and shelves. My contractor had no problem installing the speakers and connecting the wires in the attic as they come with hole templates and mounting levers. I would highly recommend these speakers!

    Love these speakers and the design. Super easy to mount, sound great and minimalistic design to blend in with a white ceiling. Someone in another review I had previously read said they sound similar to a 2nd gen Sonos Play 5. I’d say that’s fairly accurate. They will distort much easier than the average Sonos speaker. I have about every Sonos speaker made and these distort much easier than any of them. I limited the volume to 85% to avoid blowing them. I’d play around with that before you go blasting them at 90% volume. I paired them with a sub and put them in my ceiling in my basement above my bar and connected them to my TV. The phantom center channel is surprisingly pretty darn good. I probably wouldn’t use it like that in my living room but in my bar area it is perfect. Highly recommend these.

    I also have a 2nd pair running in my living room as surround speakers paired with a 3rd gen Sonos sub and the new Sonos Arc. Pretty awesome setup and they make great rear speakers and you can’t even see them. Love them. They are pretty expensive but if the look is what you’re going for with solid quality they won’t disappoint.

    These things really are amazing. These are the only ceiling speakers that will allow you to utilize SONOS trueplay technology. I installed four of these in my living room and there’s no need for a center channel at all.

    I purchased eight of these SONOS round, white speakers about 14 months ago from Best Buy, Lakewood. They were on sale for approximately $250 at the time (the regular retail is around $588). In addition to the cost of these speakers I had to purchase a receiver and a separate gadget that would allow each speaker to be turned on. Because I did not want to crawl around the attic I had to pay someone in addition to run the wires, cut the holes in the ceiling, and mount the speakers-costing around $900. My house is around 1500 sq feet so putting two speakers in each room should have been plenty of sound power. Was it worth the trouble and cost? No! Here’s the nasty truth, these speakers, for all their vaunted tech and high price, deliver below average sound quality. Their quality is about on a par with speakers made decades ago. They do not deliver rich, powerful treble or bass! They put out strictly functional sound. What a waste of time and trouble! My girlfriend laughed at me, and she is right. Instead of what I’ve done, she simply paid for a few Bose sound bars and put them in a few rooms, and everything is wireless. Her sound quality is 3 times what I’m getting from these speakers at a much cheaper price. I’ll say it again, the sound from her Bose speakers, just sitting on the counter, is a good three times the richness, power, base and treble, than these round SONOS speakers. In addition, if one of her Bose speakers goes out she just uses the warranty or gets a new one, whereas I have to deal with techs and not only the speaker but also the receiver, getting up to the ceiling, etc. So, again, for all the cost and trouble, if the ceiling speakers don’t put out GREAT sound, it is a waste of money. If you want high quality sound, just go with a sound bar, such as made by Bose. You can try other manufacturers as well. So, the positive is that I do have sound in each room. But again, it is strictly functional, not high quality.

    Using with Sonos arc and 2 subs and would certainly recommend. Very easy to install as well. Can certainly tell a difference with Tru play tuning versus not. They look great too.

    Installation was a breeze. Really like the whole design of this product. Haven’t used for 5.1 yet so can’t comment on that yet. But sounds good with music.

    I’m giving this a 5-star review because I love the quality of Sonos. However, we never actually used these speakers and returned them because Best Buy could not install them in our ceiling. We did however purchase Sonos One from Sonos and they work great.

    Very nice speakers I brought these speakers for my daughter and son-in-law and grandkids for Christmas and they really loved them. They love listening to music doing karaoke and playing video games and it also completes their Sonos system. Installing the speakers is very easy very good quality and design.
