    After 4 hours I still can’t download> i’ve called three times and been bounced all over the place to now be told I need to pay for help downloading what I paid for. I will struggle and finish this order but will never order online from best buy ever again

    I read the one star reviews and figured that everyone was using an old computer or something. Not the case. The Digital Download just straight up doesn’t work, and Best Buy’s help center can’t (or won’t) do anything to help. Do. Not. Buy. This. Game. Via. Digital. Download.

    i followed directions but when i click the download link it goes to a page that does not exist

    If you see “file not found” on the download page. call the best buy customer service line and choose the refund option. Then it will ask if you need more help and then they will connect you to a customer service person who will help you by sending you a good working link in your email. The number can be googled but here it is 1-(888)-237-8289

    We have yet to play the game so this review is mainly to help out others who have downloaded this game. When the game is ready in your digital library, it prompts you to read instructions which do not work. Calling best buy is absolutely useless, customer service is HORRIBLE. I did a lot of digging and in order to download this game, you need to download STEAM and then you can redeem the code there. If you can I’d purchase from a different online program because the organization of best buys downloads was horrible.

    The graphics are great and if you can get the game on sale, it may be worth it. My big problem with it is the AI is downright broken. No matter what you do you end up in war. The AI declares war on you for the most idiotic reasons (for example, not accepting a ridiculous trade offer). This forces you towards a military focused game-play style. Then, you get egregious warmonger penalties even if you are just defending yourself in a war started by others. A game with a lot of potential ruined by the AI and no fix despite all the complaints they are receiving.

    Not quite like the ones from the past I miss the simpler versions but still addictive and enjoyable as long as you get for less than $60

    This is not a review just a quick tip.
    I read many reviews around having problem with activation.

    After checkout when you get the ‘ready for download’ notification

    –Login to your BestBuy account
    –Navigate to Digital Library
    –Copy the listed Keycode (beside the title photo of the game)
    –Open Steam Client
    –Click on Games menu
    –Select Activate a Product on Steam
    –Paste the copied KeyCode and click Activate.

    Following these steps should start the download.

    It’s a Sid Meier game, which means fun and a great time sink. I love this version, though i have been a little disappointed that over the years they have made it more difficult to use cheat codes and such, for those of us that want to have a quick domination of the game
