Got for my back works really well actually and use all the time
Gadget –
I have been using this massager for about two weeks. It’s lightweight and works well, even on the lowest setting without the heat or cold. I do like having the option of using hot or cold, when needed. The case and attachments are sturdy. It’s well engineered and I’m glad that I have this device for pain relief from a health related condition.
Zraley –
Works great! Heat and xool feature work really well.
CafeT –
Pretty good! Just wish instead of pounding muscles, it would be more mobilization of muscles. Attachments are fine but could have added cone attachment. I think the ball and cone attachments are the most popular. If the heat source was also available thru the attachments, this thing would be awesome!
OrlandoLozano –
Great to relax muscles with the cold setting. I always use it in the warm aetting before games to loosen up my musclea and be ready to play
FrankPorras –
Best item I’ve bought all year! Employee who helped me was so nice and I was about to buy a different one when he recommended this one. Amazing experience!
Zunderwood –
This is my first such massager, so I don’t have any previous experience using one. As I do with all my tools, upon receiving the Sharper Image Powerboost Pro+ Massager I plugged it in and left it charging for a few hours.
The Powerboost Pro+ Compact comes with four attachments and a storage/tote case. The Hot & Cold attachment is installed on the handheld gun at time of receipt. Inside the storage container are three other attachments that are best suited for different areas of the body.
My first impression was that calling this compact aptly describes it. I have some arthritis in my hands and yet I didn’t have any problem holding it. It definitely feels well built.
To charge the unit, there is a USB type-C port on the bottom of the handle. It sits next to the on/off button, which is recessed and doubles as a speed selector. Pressing the on/off switch for a second causes the rear to illuminate for a second showing you a status display of the massager including battery level, speed (which is zero), and the hot/cold status. Keep in mind that I haven’t turned it on at this point.
Press and hold the on/off button for a few moments, and the massager display illuminates and stays on. Tap the on/off button, and the display shows the number “1”, which is the lowest speed. Tap it again and the massager goes faster, and the display now shows a “2”. Keep tapping and the numbers and speed continue to increase until you reach the highest speed, which is “6”. Tap one more time and the display returns to “0” – essentially stopping the massager from pulsating.
To turn the unit off, press and hold the on/off switch for a couple of seconds. You can do this at any time.
To make the massager hotter or colder, there is a rotating bezel around the display. Rotate it clockwise and it turns up the heat. Counterclockwise makes it colder. The heat and cold options are only available if you have the hot/cold attachment installed.
Here are some stats on the massager:
• Max Percussions per Minute: 3,000
• Battery Life: Up to 2 hours
• Massager does not have a supporting app
• Total Attachments: 4
• Weight: 1.31lbs
I should mention that the massager comes with a USB type-C -> USB type-A cable, but not a power adapter. The instructions note that the massager will lose battery if left unused, and if left unused it should be checked every 30 days to ensure that the battery is around 50% capacity. If it drops below that, give it a brief charge to reach 50% but do not overcharge.
I personally found this massager easy to use and easy to hold. I preferred the lower percussion numbers, 1-4, as I found levels 5 and 6 a bit too strong for regular use. This might change as I use the massager more often. The heat and cold functionality definitely enhanced the massaging experience, and I would guess I used heat and cold settings equally. Reaching my middle back area was problematic because I’m not very limber, so having someone to assist with hard-to-reach areas is helpful.
Note: the instructions caution against using this on the head or neck, or on any bony part of the body.
All in all, I like this massager. As such, I’m giving this device 5 stars.
CoolBoomer –
I have had all kinds of massagers of various quality levels and this one stands out. It comes in a nice case with the attachments, charging cable and instructions. I was surprised to find that the cold setting not only produced a cold massage head but did it very quickly. It’s like there’s a little fridge in the end of this massager. The heat also works well and doesn’t take long to get warm.
The gun itself is heavy and feels like a top-quality machine. It’s very quiet for how powerful it is. Much more like a professional grade device than what you normally find in this price range. The other attachments (you don’t use them with the hot/cold head) are typical of these gun-type massagers–a round ball that gives a little, a rigid two-prong fork type head, and a flat button type.
It charges up pretty quickly with tiny lights to show the progress, and those lights are lit when it’s in use to let you know the remaining charge. Everything has it’s own place in the zippered case. This would make a great gift for someone who has a need for a good massager.
Kelly –
Powerful massager that really works deep into the muscles. Great battery life. The only reason I gave this four stars instead of five is that it is rather heavy. My arm started getting tired before I was done with the massage.
I ended up returning it and getting something smaller and lighter. But if you’re willing to deal with how much it weighs it’s gotta be one of the best massagers you can find.

The Sharper Image – PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact Massager is a wonderfully small massager that heats up and cools down to help massage your pain away. It comes in a nice hard case with 4 different attachments that you can swap out depending on your preference.
After charging the device with the included USB-C cable, I was able to test the massager on both hot and cold settings on my shoulder blades and calves. You can choose between 3 heat and cold settings. Cranking it up on the hot setting brings some heat to the head of the massager while turning the wheel to the left will leave you feeling refreshed and cool. One thing to remember is only the pre-installed head has hot/cold capability, the other tips are just regular tips but are still great when targeting certain muscles.
6-speed settings will be enough for most people as I didn’t like any speed over 2. Although I’m sure some people will enjoy the higher speed settings, my muscles couldn’t take it.
Overall, I enjoyed using the PowerBoost Pro and think I will be using it much more in the future. I’d recommend this massager to anyone who wants a powerful massager, with hold and cold capability and great portability. I’d list the pros and cons, but honestly, I can’t find any cons about this massager.
JKhan –
There are a few pieces of equipment I use for workout prep and recovery. One of those is percussive therapy guns. Which gun depends on what I’m looking for. From Hypervolt to Theragun they all have the strongpoints. The PowerBoost Pro is the choice for the foreseeable future.
First note is the size. About a 1/3 smaller than my Hypervolt, it is much easier to carry around. The case it comes in creates a nice compact form factor that fits snuggly into my bag and is ready to go whenever I need it. It is weighty, but for me, that adds to its sturdiness. My 3rd party guns can feel cheap in the trim and/or attachments. Not here. Very sturdy.
In relation to the size, the punch it packs is substantial. It has 6 levels of pressure, and I normally only need to get to level 4 to get the results I need. Also, the glide is smooth, very smooth. From the lower back to the traps, there is no issue with jerking or uneven pressure.
Display is easy to read and navigate. I was up and running in 2 minutes.
Battery is excellent. I have been using 1-2 times a day with temperatures at both extremes for a few days now, and have yet to reach 50% battery.
The big feature…the hot and cold therapy. The temperature heats up and cools down very quickly. Usually within a minute. Whether using to warm-up the muscles or for recovery, I do feel the 2-in-1 combo is effective. The negative, 1/2 of the star lost, is that is doesn’t permeate through clothing very well. Not sure what i was expecting. I wear a lot of compression clothing and tanks, no big issue there, but if I am in a hoodie, the hot/cold is not getting to the skin without extreme user pressure. Anything thicker than a tee would be moot.
The other 1/2 of the star is something that may be a defect. After so many minutes, the gun simply cuts off. It will turn back on and begin again with no issue, but it can be jarring. In the manual, it “enjoy your massage for up to 10 minutes,” but it doesn’t specify it has a auto shut-off. If that is the reason, there needs to be way to turn that off. At this moment, I’m attributing that to a defect.
Knowing those two parameters, I still would recommend this without hesitation and will be buying one for my mom in the future. In the gym bag it stays, ready for work! Get moving!

Being an avid runner, I have used message therapy devices in the past. Overall I like these devices and the relief they provide. Until now the devices I have used did not supply hot and cold options. I now see what I am missing by having used the Sharper Image PowerBoost Pro.
This device comes with several attachments providing different types of deep tissue messages. I like the fork one as it allows you to direct target a particular muscle or specific area.
The real star of this decide is the hot and cold attachment. The ability to apply heat or cold to stiff and sore muscles really changes the game. The hot setting will go to 115 degrees F while the cold attachment gets as cold as 38 degrees F! This range is perfect to treat various muscle groups and discomfort. You also have various speed setting to make the impact lighter or harder.
This device is also easy to carry and cane easily be brought on the road as needed. The battery will last for two hits of message on a single charge. Enough for several treatments.
Overall I really like this device and would recommend it.

This Sharper Image compact hot/cold massager offers outstanding performance. The massaging action is deep and powerful, while also being versatile due to the included accessories. The vibration, and heat and cold function really lives up to its namesake! I was especially impressed by how hot and cold it could get on the highest setting.
Included in the box is a hard case, the massager, 4 attachments, and a USB charging cord. The hard case, like the massager, is well manufactured and feels solid. The massager is about the size of a full size hair dryer, making it easy to wield with one hand. The attachments are for use on different parts of the body and for different effects. It is important to note that only one attachment functions with hot and cold. Fortunately this attachment also has the massage function.
Operation of the unit is simple The power button is multi-function. Holding it down for 2 seconds powers it on and off. When powered on, pressing the power button cycles through the 6 levels of motor power. I was truly amazed by how powerful this massager is. It rivals corded massagers in intensity. There is a USB-C power port for charging. I find this to be especially useful since USB-C charging is becoming universal. The massager is rated to last about 2 hours and takes about 3 hours to charge. After using it for a few days I found these times to be accurate.
The hot/cold function is activated by a control knob. Turn the knob to the left for the cold function, and to the right for the heat function. There are 3 levels of heat and cold intensity that can be selected.
I suffer from intermittent back pain so I am very happy to have this powerful and portable massager to help me get through my episodes of pain. Having a massager that is easy to transport and has heating and cooling functions is going to be a game changer. I highly recommend this powerful and versatile massager! It offers amazing performance making it well worth the price.

Sharper Image has done a great job with their PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact massager. It’s small and powerful. It looks good and the majority of it is metal. It has a solid feel to it. It comes with a carry case that holds the massager, attachments, and USB charge cable. It holds a charge for many uses so if you are taking it with you on a trip for a few days, it will likely last long enough that aren’t likely to have to charge it while on the trip, but since it uses a USB-C charge port, it would be easy enough to charge it on longer trips. It’s compact, but doesn’t fail on delivering power plus heat or cold temperature to the hot/cold massage attachment. It heats up and can get cold within a few seconds. I was surprised at how cold the massage head was. I was expecting it to get cool at the highest setting, but it actually was cold. The PowerBoost Pro doesn’t fall short on covering hot and cold massage therapy uses.
There is a power button on the bottom of the handle the servers to power on/off the massager and it is used to select the intensity of the massage. It’s simple and straight forward to set. It also has a dial at the end of the main body which allows you to set the heat or cold setting or no temp setting. Just turn the dial left to set the cold setting or right to set the heat. The display on the end showing these settings is bright and easy to read. The motor is powerful. It’s helped a lot with my shoulder muscles, calves, and upper leg muscles especially when using the heating option. I charged it when I received it and it is currently still running on the initial charge after using each day. The battery life is really good given that this is a compact massager.
The PowerBoost Pro Compact has been a big help. If you are looking for something to toss in the luggage for a trip or just want a compact massager for use at home and one that has both heating and cooling functions, then consider the PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact. The heating and cooling functions work great and it has a powerfull motor with good battery life. I would recommend considering this for both travel and a home use massager.

Compact, lightweight, easy to handle. I use it often and it helps.

So I’ve seen these types of massagers pretty much everywhere for the past few years – they seem to be quite popular. In fact, I own one similar to this but without the temperature feature and range of adapters that this one includes. The nice thing about these is that first they are battery operated so you’re not chained to a cord and, in turn, a nearby power outlet. Second, they are ergonomic in the sense that they are easy to hold and direct towards whatever muscle group or soft tissue you’re trying to direct.
What I like about this one in particular is, of course, its main selling feature – the temperature adjustment. Giving yourself a massage with one of these is nice, but giving yourself a heated massage is even better. I didn’t find the ‘cold’ feature particularly cold but definitely found the ‘heat’ feature to live up to its name.
Lastly, the unique attachment that this one comes with that I hadn’t seen before is the ‘fork’ – that one works nicely as well to target knots in your back and shoulders.

My wife has some lower back pains and uses a heating pad, as well as a small massage gun, to help alleviate the pressure and pain she feels from it. So it sort of hit me that to combine those two things, heat and a massage gun, is what I could get her for Christmas. And so this product was put on order and I eagerly awaited it to arrive. Once it arrives it really is impressive. It comes with a high quality, large carrying case, which has room for all of the modules that you can use. They are a diverse collection, I believe it has five different ones with it. All give you different feelings.
On Christmas she opened it up and was a bit perplexed until she got it out and looking at it. Once she saw it adds cold and heat and is a premium product she saw why it made sense and so we decided to try it. I used it on her lower back and, just overall, her entire back and shoulders and we used the heat setting. We also tried cold briefly but she prefers the warmth. She said it was amazing! She tried it on me as well and my lower back felt so much better.
Note that this thing has some serious power. Even on the lowest setting of 1, it goes from 1 to 6, it has a bit of heavy duty feel. So if you’re a person who is very sensitive to these types of guns note that it may be too much for some of you, my wife enjoyed it at a setting of 1, but I could see some folks maybe thinking this is a bit too much. It’s clearly intended for people with experience with these types of guns and so it’s a serious device, with serious settings for serious people who really want a hardcore massage experience.
This thing is built like a tank, ditto for the add-on pieces too. The case and all of it really reminds me of the elite experience that you get with the MS Elite Controller. It’s just really that good. I am very happy I picked this and my wife is too. Highly recommended!

Included- Massager, 4 attachments, USB-C charging cord, and carrying case
The Sharper Image Powerboost Pro is small and lightweight, easy to use and makes a big impact on those sore muscles. Its main feature combines hot or cold along with the massage to help with recovery and relaxation.
The features on this massager are quite nice for the moderate price. The controls on the massager are user friendly with a dial to switch settings. The power button is on the bottom of the handle and that is one of the few negatives I can express. It’s somewhat awkward to hold and press the button so I’d prefer the button up higher on the device. Hold down to turn it on or off. Once it’s on, turn the dial left to activate the cold. it will get as cool as 38 degrees F. Turn it right to activate the heat and it will reach as hot as 115 degrees F. To the touch of a hand, you can feel the hot or cold well but it’s more difficult to feel through clothing. There are 6 speeds to customize the intensity of the massage. While it’s on, press the power button to increase the levels 1-6 and will start over again if you need to lower the pressure. Again, with the power button being in it’s current position, it is more difficult to switch speeds. I need to use 2 hands to do it. It would be better if only 1 hand was required. The four attachments are also nice. The hot and cold one is great for all body areas. The fork works well to focus on your back and shoulders. The round one works best for large muscle groups. Finally, the flat one works on all areas. I personally like the fork and hot and cold attachments best. While the massager is running, it’s relatively quiet so it’s still easy to hold a conversation or listen to your music. I also like that it’s so light at only 1.3 pounds so my arm doesn’t get too tired while using the PowerBoost which is important to me for usability and portability. The battery offers a 2-hour run time which is sufficient for what it does.
Overall, I think this is a good massager for the price point. I own a more expensive one that is a lot heavier so it makes that one harder to use. I think this one for longer massages is good because of the light weight it is. I also like the hot and cold feature. Lastly, the carrying case is great to keep the whole kit together nicely.

I’ve been enjoying this Sharper Image Massager Pro edition this holidays very much. I really used it everyday and i have to say it exceeded my expectations!
If you are in a market for one i do recommend to get the Pro or Pro+ so you can benefit from the Cold or Hot functions. It’s working, it will switch between modes at an incredible fast pace and will deliver that extra punch (sensation) when needed!
Other then that, this massager checks all the boxes.
-It is rechargeable over an included usb to usb-c cable. It charges rather quick and it lasts a generous amount of massage sessions.
-Very compact!
-Comes with a storage/travel box (10×10 inches) where you can fit the massager as well as the 4 massage heads and the charging cable.
-The design it’s cool / minimalistic and with only one button and a scrolling wheel wrapped around the display u can navigate all it’s functions.
-Powerful with 6 speed adjustments and 3 zones for heat or cold settings.
To mention that the heat/cold mode it’s supported only thru the preinstalled head. But luckily is the one i like the most!
And i believe hot/cold option it’s really benefic and almost a must have, specially when you consider the great pricing on this device!
Loomis1975 –
I like that the unit came with the temperature head installed on it, because that is all that we have used. The battery takes about 3 hours or so to charge from near empty and lasts a good long time. It does have an auto shut off after running for awhile. Its easy to hold the button on bottom of handle to turn it on (display comes on). Then select hot or cold or neither with the dial around the display. It takes 30 seconds or so to get hot or cold. Then quick press the handle button to turn it on and select the power setting. No one has wanted to use it above a 1 (lowest) setting. It has plenty of punch at the 1 setting and the heat feels really good on sore or tight muscles. I like the cold setting for working out those morning after aches and pains coming from a warm bed. The compact size is very nice, makes it easy to pack and take with you, even in its carrying case, which holds everything, except for the USB charging block you need for charging, which it does NOT come with, you have to provide that. It charged with all of the five different ones I had on hand to test it with.

Percussion massagers have come a long way from those bulky, corded, single head units of the past. One thing they had was heating, that a most of cordless units didn’t, aside from the professional units at high price points. Thankfully, the Sharper Image PowerBoost Pro now gives you both heating and cooling for a price conscious value. This unit is incredibly compact and well made, with a metal pistol handle and rubberized barrel. Operation is simple: the dial on the back allows you to adjust 3 levels of heat and cooling identified by red or blue dots respectively on the rear display. The power button located at the base of the hand grip requires a 2 second press to power on, then pressing it individually allows you to increase the intensity up to 6 levels easily viewable on the rear display. It comes with 4 heads, including the powered head, and a case.
Initial charge took a couple of hours, then I started some much-needed kneading on my back after a day’s work. I experience tightness on my lower lumbar and knotting just below my shoulder blades. I found it easy to maneuver to the areas on my back with just one hand. On level one, it has more of a thumping motion whereas the higher levels felt more comfortable, settling on level 3 for most of my needs. Having used it almost every day for a week during the stressful holiday season, I feel I can depend on coming home and relieving my aching muscles. The heat works really well and feels like a heated car seat, but the cooling feels drastically colder on its highest setting and is conceivable for post workout relief. The other non-electrified heads like the ball and the flat pad are good for either joints or leg muscles. I haven’t quite figured out what to use the fork for as it produces more of a jabbing feeling than anything else.
I really like this percussion massager for its features, low price point and long battery life (3 of 4 bars in a week). It feels like a premium product, is easy to use, and provides heating and cooling.

The Sharper Image – PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact – Black is a great addition for me to have in my health care bag. It helps with my lower back pain, by loosening up my tight and sore muscles. Also, I use the Sharper Image – PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact – Black for minimizing my pains and stiffness from arthritis. The included attachments allow me to give treatment in different ways to bring about relief. The Hot & Cold attachment gives therapy for advanced relief, the Round attachment to impact the larger areas, the Flat attachment acting like a hammer to produce deep recovery, and the Fork attachment to give side to side treatments on my knotted muscles. The level of speed goes up to six, but I never require turning it up to its full speed. The Heat and Cold produced really penetrates the area being worked on. The functions are easy to use right out of the box, after charging. With the Sharper Image – PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact – Black, I will be able to take care of many of my minor aches and pains in the comfort of my own home.
Akire –
I own a massager very similar to this but this one far elevates the experience with the hot/cold feature. The Sharper Image PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact comes with several heads designed for massaging specific areas of the body and the main one that serves to massage while conducting heat or cold onto the skin.
It has four attachments in total, a charging cable, and a zipper storage box where everything can be kept well-organized. The box is compact enough that I can take it with me so that I can uses as needed on the go.
I especially love the heat setting because I tend to get a stiff neck and the heat really sooths it away along with the pounding of the massager. The hot and cold each have three setting as to how high/low you want the temperature. The cold really feels like you just took it out of the refrigerator, I find it amazing that the massage gun changes temperature as quickly as it does.
The massage gun has 6 speed settings to choose from. I tend to not go up beyond the 2nd but my husband goes through all of them depending on how sore or stiff he is. Beyond 4 though, I personally find it difficult to hold more than a few minutes. It feels like I’m holding a jackhammer, and my arm starts feeling odd from the vibrations.
One of the main things that caught my attention about this unit is how quiet it is. I have never come across such a quiet massager, it is perfect since my husband and I tend to use it at night once the kids are in bed, otherwise they want to get turns with it.
I am honestly really enjoying the power of intensity that this massage gun has, and even more so, the hot and cold settings. This is an item that I am going to keep in mind when looking for a gift because I know it will be useful for just about anybody.

I have always loved Sharper Image products for decades. Smartly designed, they include sharp packaging, great presentation and products with simple elegance that look nice and perform as advertised.
They also tend to take a pre-existing product types and refine then elevate them. This is exactly what the Shaper Image PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact Massager does and does it well. I have a few other percussive massagers and the Sharper Image is better built, easier to hold and works better with their hot/cold system than my other units.
It comes inside a nice, portable case with the hot/cold attachment already installed. You also get three other percussive attachments that can target the muscle in different ways. One attachment missing I do wish it had was the single cone attachment which really lets you dial down on a specific spot for point release.
I love the large, beautiful display and ease of use. Hold button to power on, tap to increase intensity, use dial to adjust hot and cold levels or leave at 0 for nothing. The display shows you your intensity level along with a color read out for temperature: left blue for cold and right red for heat. The front of the massager also has a beautiful ring that lights up red or blue if the hot/hold attachment is activated.
Ergonimically, the large oversized handle and balanced weight between the handle and barrel really works well and makes it easy to use and hold. It feels like it is made from metal and the quality feel and look is definitely there.
The hot/cold attachment heats up and cools down very quickly which is nice and it can do either while percussively massaging your muscles. My other unit can not do this. You either use hot/cold treatment or you can use percussive massaging; not both.
It charges using a standard USB connector but there is no power adapter in the box so you will need an adapter, computer or USB hub/strip. In this day and age with powered USB everywhere, this is ok.
Overall, compared to my other percussive massagers, the Sharper Image is the clear winner. Using it before and after a heavy lifting session is fantastic. Hot to warm up and loosen the shoulder tendons before bench. Later on, cold for a nice cold treatment as they start to recuperate before switching to ice packs. This is my new favorite massager.

The Sharper Image PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact Massage Gun has become my go-to for tackling muscle tension and finding relaxation. Its compact design seamlessly fits into my gym bag or travel luggage, with the low-profile carrying case adding extra convenience on the go.
What sets this massage gun apart is its dual functionality – hot and cold therapy. The heat setting embraces sore muscles, aiding recovery, while the cold setting tackles inflammation and numbs pain. It’s my companion both before and after workouts, and the included attachments ensure precise relief for targeted areas.
The rechargeable battery brings reliability, and the LED indicator is handy for monitoring the battery level. The USB-C port adds a modern touch to the charging process.
The Sharper Image PowerBoost Pro excels with its innovative blend of hot and cold therapy, providing a noticeable edge. Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast or seeking a dependable massage gun with advanced features, this model proves a worthwhile investment for overall well-being and efficient muscle recovery.
A charming extra – my cat seems to enjoy the low heat setting, adding unexpected charm to an already impressive device. In conclusion, for those in search of a reliable and versatile massage gun, the Sharper Image PowerBoost Pro is a solid choice for a comprehensive approach to muscle care, offering a unique blend of convenience and innovation.

My first impression out of the box is wow this quality does not match the retail price. It’s way nicer compared to similar, more expensive products I’ve used. The unit itself has a nice premium look and feel to it. Even the presentation of the packaging box. You’re getting way more for your hard-earned money that’s for sure.
Out of the box, you get a short USB C cable to charge but no power brick, along with a very nice carrying case and the four attachments below:
Hot + Cold: Provides hot or cool therapy for advanced relief. Good for all body areas and has low muscle impact. Trust me the hot and cold is not a gimmick. It will get cold or hot enough to provide some relief without being unbearable. You can also adjust it by 3 levels.
The round attachment which is pretty much a ball is excellent for large areas for overall comfort. It’s good for the glutes muscles, arms, thighs, and back. It’s also low muscle impact.
There’s a flat attachment if you require a much deeper impact for recovery which is excellent for the chest, shoulders, and back. This one is the muscle impact is medium.
Last but not least is the fork attachment which provides dual impact for muscle knots. It’s good for shoulders, biceps, calves, and feet. This one has the highest muscle impact out of all the attachments.
Operating the unit it’s pretty simple including removing and attaching the attachments. To power the unit on or off just hold the power button located at the bottom for a few seconds. To change the intensity level just press the power. The are six intensity levels to choose from. I will say that I would prefer level 1 to have been a little bit less intensive. But overall this compact massager has a strong motor. There’s an LCD that shows you your current intensity level. If you have the hot + cold attachment it will show you the cold/hot level. To adjust the temp level rotate the bezel of the display to the left for cold or to the right for heat. You can also tell what temp you have it set to by the color of the light in front of the massager. For cold it’s blue, for heat it’s red and for neutral it’s white. For all other attachments, the lights stay white.
What I like about this unit how compact it is to carry around. Lately, my feet have been killing and this is where the fork attachment works the best providing some much-needed relief. Something I’ve noticed is how it doesn’t stall. That’s one of the issues I had with my previous massager applying too much pressure would stall the motor.
Overall I’m very satisfied with not just how well it massages but doing it so much better at a lower price. Sharper Image knocks it out of the ball park. I highly recommend it.

So far as hand massage guns go, the PowerBoost is pretty nice. The battery lasts a good time and can be recharged from any normal power adapter. The zippered softshell case is good quality and keeps the massager and accessories neatly together. The hot and cold massage head, perhaps the main feature, can be very helpful with different kinds of muscle pains. However this only works with one of the massage heads, so if you want hot or cold with a different head shape, it can’t do it.
The big downside is the near total lack of ergonomics. The PowerBoost has the same 90 degree handle so many other percussive massagers use, which is rather uncomfortable to use for more than a few minutes at a time. The heat is controlled by the dial at the rear, which is easy to use with a second hand, but would’ve been better if it was closer to the handle so you could operate it with your thumb. A button at the very end of the handle powers the device on and also changes the vibration intensity, which is completely awkward to use.

This is a nice size massager that comes with a carrying case and 4 attachments. I love the size and it’s easy to pack and take along as needed. When traveling I pack it in my bag after sitting for long ont he plane, it is very helpful. And I pack it in my gym bag when I think I might need it.
I have other massagers which work well this is just beyond amazing! It is so convenient that this can be used hot or cold and the temptarue doesn’t take long to come on. Surprisingly, it’s not too loud so doesn’t interfere with having conversations or watching tv. This comes with a USB-C charging cable but as in everything else these days, there is not block so you have to provide your own. I haven’t needed to recharge the battery yet so it is long lasting. There’s a little cheatsheet that shares the parts of the body each attachment might help with. From, all over the body, arms, back, thighs, glutes, chest, shoulders, biceps and even feet, has the right attachments. Also, they say not to use on head and neck. This works wonders and have helped me find relief especially with my back, legs and shoulders. I mostly use the hot/cold attachment, it feels so good in just the right spot.
It’s quick and easy to set this up whether with the attachments or the hot/cold attachment. Having only one switch for on/off and any of the 6 intensity levels is nice. But the switch is awkwardly placed on the bottom, which is interesting. When using the hot/cold attachment, you use twist the circle one way for cold, the other for heat. There are 3 levels of heat and cold. I find the 1st and 2nd levels meet my needs most time. This is a really nice compact hand massager.

I’ll start by saying that I’m no expert in muscle / tissue recovery and by no means a massage therapist. But as a regular Joe that works a physically demanding job, I can say that this massage gun is pretty good and has helped a bit with the common aches and pains I come home with. I don’t know what kind of sorcery Sharper Image is doing with this massage gun, but the “hot and cold” attachment is very cool. You can toggle heat or cold or nothing at all with the massage gun. The attachment will get pretty warm fast and will provide a nice warm touch to your aching muscles. It gets cold right away too, not ice cold.. but cold enough! I didn’t think it would cool down so fast after using the heat setting but it does. I haven’t seen any other massage gun do this, it might be the first of its kind. It is a very cool feature! The cold setting is great for reducing swelling and inflammation for recent injuries, and the heat is great for relaxing muscles. My one and only complaint about the massager so far is that this function does not work with any of the other attachments. The massage gun is smart enough to know not to turn the heat or cold on with the other included attachments. Battery life on the massage gun is excellent, I’ve yet to recharge it after a week of use. It charges conveniently with USB C. I found that my fast charging USB C cable works great with it and will charge it up quite quickly. There is 4 attachments included and a nice case for stowing everything. I lose all my attachments to my last massage gun, so I love that this one comes with a case. No this massage gun will not replace a massage therapist, but it is very nice for use in between your massage sessions. The older I get, the more I appreciate this type of technology. I feel like they help in recovery and physical therapy. I’m trying to do what I can to keep my body strong and able and having heat and cold therapy in a massage gun is a blessing. If you are looking to buy a massage gun, I can whole heartedly recommend this one. This is my second massage gun, and so far it’s been great. I really like it, and I think you will to.

The Sharper Image – PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact – Black massager is a surprisingly great massager. I didn’t think it would be able to compete with my hypervolt, but it does. It is quiet and easy to use. I can run it while watching TV without it interfering with the sound. The hot and cold attachment is a nice perk. To feel benefit from the hot and cold, it needs to be on bare skin (obviously). The temperature is felt very quickly. The massager runs for 10 minute cycles and then shuts off. This was a surprise to me because I didn’t read about that feature anywhere in the instructions. It’s not necessarily bad though, it keeps me aware of how long I’ve been in an area and keeps me from over stimulating or aggravating a sore muscle. I am learning to not over do it, which has been a problem in the past.
The carrying case is appreciated, I can keep all the attachments, charging cord, and massager in one place. The instructions are helpful in directing you where each attachment is best utilized. Each one feels amazing. My favorite one seems to be which ever one is attached, it’s pretty hard to pick. The massager does last for a long run time (up to 2 hours). In turn, it takes a long time to charge. My previous massager took 30 minutes or so to fully charge. This one can take well over two to three hours depending how low the charge is. The charging end is a USB C, that may be why it is a slower charge time.
The massager is on the heavier end compared to others, and the handle is *Not* non-slip material. The handle is slick and the top end, that is not is not the main area to hold, *is* non-slip. I think reversing it would make way more sense. Those design flaws aside, this is the massager I go for between the two that I have. I have noticed marked improvement in my chronic shoulder, back, and neck pain with use of this massager and my physical therapy regimen.
When placing the hot/cold attachment, the holes and pins need to line up. If they are not in line, you can gently twist in one direction to get the word “temp” to appear, which indicates the unit is ready to do hot or cold. This was not specified in the manual so I wanted to save others the guess work on that issue.

The unit works as expected and is very easy to use. I love that it heats up to give a soothing effect as you are working out the muscle soreness.

I got this as I have been having a lot of shoulder issues and after them using one on me at PT I thought it would be a good idea. I love that besides the standard massage you have the option of heat or cold as well though it is only with the metal attachment. If you choose either one it very quickly gets to whatever setting you want. It does not get too hot or cold but feels really good in addition to the massage. The gun itself is very light compared to others I have used. It does do an automatic shut off after a certain amount of time. This in itself is not a bad thing though I wish there was a way to override this each use if desired. The carrying case is a nice addition to this and feels very well made. I actually took this over to uses on my daughter when she wasn’t feeling well and she really liked it and wants one now as well. While it may nit have a ton of speed settings I think it is sufficient and honestly appreciate the overall simplicity of this. The battery lasts a lot longer than I would have expected especially when I use the heat function so much! The only negative I would really say is the port for the charger, it might just be me but sometimes I find it hard to plug the cord in. Not a deal breaker by any means just a bit annoying and I am hoping it will be less of an issue over time as I get used to it. Overall I am very happy with this!

The Sharper Image – PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact is a class above other handheld massagers. It has the right amnount of force for a decent massage and is great for loosening up back and neck muscles. The hot and cold functions are a game changer though. Heat is typical but cool not so much. So I can start using it in heat mode and to reduce inflammation/tension and then switch to cold to finish things which results in longer lasting relief. There is also a huge temperature range which makes it perfect to tailor it to each person’s preferences.
Overall, it’s a great products and the multiple attachments just increases the number of applications for it. The battery life has also been great so far and the carrying case makes it easy to store to prevent damage to it. I highly recommend this compact massager. It packs a lot of power in a small package and it’s perfect to take on the go or when traveling. In addition to the multiple attachments, it has multiple intensity modes just adding to its value.

I have had many massagers in my years to help with post cycling and running workouts, most of them corded. I am simply amazed at the power that this cordless massager can produce. I have had the opportunity to use this now every day for a week and I cannot even use it on its most powerful setting. I hover around setting 3 – 4 (6 is the max). The Heat and cold function work very very well and while I prefer heat, the unit can get sufficiently cold when needed. There are three different heat and 3 different cold settings to choose from. I have had the opportunity to try all the attachments but I prefer the one that was attached when unboxed which is the hot/cold “ball”. Charging this unit is simple with the now industry standard USB-C and takes approximately 90 minutes to charge fully. I found that I had to charge it after day 4 of use while using the unit approximately 30 minutes with each use. Thank you Sharper Image for not having your own proprietary charging port!! The unit gets aa bit heavy after 20-30 minutes of use as this is a very solid and well built product. I highly recommend this product as it functions as advertised. I do not think one can be disappointed in this offering.

Fantastic Job!
So far I’m super happy and pleased with this device. It’s my first time owning a percussion massage and I couldn’t be happier.
I admit I was a bit skeptic with it offering a hot or cold features, but I’m impressed. The heat is something I’ve used several times. It’s the right amount without me feeling like I’m going to burn myself. It loosed my swore shoulder up very quickly! Best of all, I was able to use the cold setting on my shoulder later that day and I was equally pleased. It was more surprising to have the cold sensation, but it’s a great touch for this massager.
What I like about this is it fits quite comfortably in my hand. It’s not too big, but big enough that it feels durable and very well made. It fit nicely in my wife’s hand as well, so that’s a plus!
This device goes beyond what someone can ask for at this price point. I hurt my shoulder a few months ago and this has helped loosen it up nicely. It’s not a miracle cure, but the heat along with a deep tissue massage are as close to a cure as possible. It takes some getting use to and how to hold the device.
I highly recommend you read the instructions because this is a deep massager on your body. The last thing you want to do is cause more damage or pain.
Pros:
4 different attachments to target the body
Hot/cold separate massage attachment (115F for heat and 38F for cold)
C port charger
3,000 percussions per minute!!
2 hour battery (not that you’d massage a spot this long)
Easy to use while it’s on
Portable case
10 min safety shut off
Cons:
Can’t be used on neck or boney part of body
Higher levels might be a tad aggressive for new users
Overall:
This is one of the best massagers at this price point. It’s easy to use, easy to hold and offers enough percussions per minute. I’ve only had to use it 2-3 mins on a targeted away to help alleviate soreness. Of course, consult with your doctor on something like this. I highly recommend this!

This Sharper Image PowerBoost Pro+ Hot and Cold Compact Massage Gun is a very nice option to go with for a massage gun on the cheaper side while still being well made and packed with a bunch of cool features.
This Massage Gun or “Portable Percussion Massager” as it says on the box comes pre-installed with a temperature changing tip ranging from the advertised coldest setting of 38F to a hottest setting of 115F, 3 additional attachments (Fork, Round, and Flat), 6 Speed settings, a USB-C charging cable, and a nice case that fits everything inside. The temperature settings can be switched using a built in dial on the back of the gun. Inside of the dial is an LED screen that shows you which speed you are on and which temperature setting you are using, as well as the charge state. The PowerBoost Pro+ is advertised to last up to 2 hours on one charge.
Overall, I think this is a great massage gun and for the price, it is very well made and well worth trying out. Having the Heating and Cooling on top of the vibrations of the massage is very nice. One thing I would change is maybe lowering the speeds as I found myself using the lowest 2 speeds the most. I simply found the higher speeds to be too much for my liking. I think a wider variety of speeds could have been better but its still a great tool to have when needed.

To turn on you hold the power button for 3 seconds. The same button is used to change levels of intensity 1-6. The hot and cold use a dial for controlling the temperature and it really works! My partner loves it and I would definitely recommend

This is my review for the Sharper Image – PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact – in the color – black
I’ve had a couple of weeks to test this PowerBoost Pro Hot and Cold Compact massager and I really like it, but I feel like it could be better,
The pros of this hot/cold massager:
It is one of the least expensive ones that I have seen, so it is on the affordable side.
It is easy to use and directions are user friendly – please make sure you read directions!
Brings multiple attachments which is a huge plus and it is fairly easy to change attachments
It’s not to heavy
It is good for post work out muscle relief
And also good for aches and pains
Battery life seems ok it took me about 40 minutes to fully charge and I used it a few times before it needed a full charge again.
I just hope that is is durable as it already has developed a small crack on the handle but it does not affect the use of the machine, I just wonder how the durability will be for the future and if it will last long.
Other than that the quality is ok
