Easy to install – works great – and adds a very expensive look to my kitchen.

Do not buy! Our second (a new replacement) Sharp drawer microwave just died. Our experience is similar to others- give it 2 years, and it will give up the ghost. Our first lasted 6 weeks or so. I have contacted Sharp, and waiting for their reply. I will also contact my home builder to tell then never to recommend this to anyone ( (and also let their suppliers know this is not a good recommendation).

I love this microwave drawer. It is wonderful for vertically challenged people like me.

Great microwave for company break room. Easy to use.
ChickeeDoo –
Good looking microwave. I love the drawer style that easily hides away!

Love this microwave , only problem it was damaged. The plastic control panel is a problem should be made of something stronger.

This is a replacement for the same product and it seems to take quite a bit longer to heat items compared to my other model. The only difference I am aware of is the wattage–900w vs 1000w

Looks great and everything works great so far. Purchased for our kitchen remodel to put in island since my husband had to have a hood vent put in. My only complaint is that it does seem like it takes a little longer to heat up things than our over the range microwave but just need to figure out how much timing this one needs so we can adjust to that.

High quality and durable microwave. Hard to justify the price tag, but it if you are looking for a drawer microwave it has all the features you are looking for and operates up to expectations. We preferred the microwave with the handle for aesthetics, however, it can be operated both manually by using the handle or by mechanically with the open and close button

Even though it is an expensive microwave, it really worth it. It adds a lot to the look of the kitchen that I just remodeled. So far it works well, no complain. I really like the open and close features, very smooth. If you are really considering remodeling and buying a drawer microwave, it is worth it!!!

Delivered on time, installed quickly and it works perfectly. I recommend this drawer microwave.

Love this drawer microwave, we use it every day and just love it.

The drawer micrwave performs as well as any good microwave, it has some height restrictions because of its design. but all in all it is a very nice unit.
The only other problem was when our first one went bad there was noone to service a drawer microwave, at least not anywhere near us.

This microwave drawer is very easy to use. It is much better than reaching up over the stove to my old microwave. My wife said it is very convenient and she feels safer dealing with hot items compared with reaching up because she can easily see in the drawer and put things in and out on top of the countertop.

We replaced our eight year old Sharp Microwave with basically the same style and functions. My experience with Best Buy did not start out smoothly in the ordering process, but when I asked for a manager to assist me it became a marvelous one. My unit was ordered, installation scheduled. Installation crew were on time and quickly installed the unit. My wife and I were really happy. All of friends who have ordered from Best Buy were very pleased with all aspects of their transaction.

Love it!There was a few installation issues, even though the cabinet mfg.used the specs from this model. My contractor figured it out…my kitchen isn’t completely done,so I havent been able to explore all the bells and whistles.

Haven’t used it yet but I’m sure it will work fine.

Makes a loud noise. Not sure if it was damaged but we will be bringing it to be replaced hopefully new replacement doesn’t have a loud sound

Love the look! We needed to buy a piece of cabinet trim to make the microwave fit correctly in the cabinet on our island. So far, so good!

Nice microwave drawer and works great. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.
brigopens –
Solid microwave so far. Wish it had a rotating dish but not a deal breaker. Affordable for the under counter style. Hoping the automatic door mechanism holds up!
Woody –
We looked at some of the newer drawer style microwave and went with this older series because the opening and closing is better and if you need to you can manually open or close it if the buttons don’t work. Newer ones your screwed the the touchscreen is bad.
HomeBuilder –
We purchased a home that had this microwave previously installed. We owned the home for 6 years and used it daily. Never had a problem. The drawer mechanism was perfect and sturdy. We sold the house and moved. In our new home we are installing this same microwave. This model looks very nice. It stands daily use and we love it.

Jut right size to replace my old built in microwave and I love thi drawer design.
timothycarlos –
Ridiculously expensive, terrible design! The drawer makes no sense, it should have had a fold-down or hinged door. Also, there’s no carousel/turntable.

I’ve purchased 2 of these Sharp Microwave Drawers. The first microwave was outside of the warranty period and had an issue that couldn’t be resolved economically – so we purchased a second microwave drawer. The newer unit was purchased from Best Buy in June of 2020 and here we are in December 2021 and the microwave stopped working. I spent $1400+ the second time around for this microwave. A microwave so expensive should last longer than 18 months! I will not ever consider Sharp as a brand for any of my major appliances due to this experience. Now I have a custom-size hole in my kitchen and a dead microwave. I am stuck with the expensive of fixing my cabinets along with purchasing a new microwave. I am furious. (And yes, I HAVE contacted Sharp USA about this.)

Love the microwave drawer better than having a microwave on the counter.

DO NOT BUY, on the 4th year my microwave stop heating, I called Geek Squad to come out and repair but the parts needed were no longer avalable. I am now stuck with a non working expensive microwave.
realtalk –
What a disappointment. I paid around $1k for this microwave? It is underpowered and takes nearly twice as long as my previous microwave to heat things up. I suppose that’s why instead of having the 1 button timer be 30 seconds, it is 1 minute. Even if you choose to pull out the drawer manually the motor will kick in and attempt to push the drawer out all the way before you can push it back in. (You can override this with force but it is probably not good for the motor.) Things also don’t heat as easily as there is no rotating lazy susan in the middle like most microwaves. This review is posted so far after my purchase date because, due to COVID delays, I wasn’t able to move into my condo with a remodeled kitchen until January 1, 2022.
Nice –
Nice microwave and easy to install. A little confusing to use. Not your typical microwave.

Got the microwave installed it and its not working! Not heating!
Got the 2nd microwave same issue not heating, now waiting to see if the 3rd will work!

This microwave is awesome. We use it often. It’s out of. The way under the counter, but large enough for our family.

Neida –
The built in microwave is the best investment I did!
Loves2Cook –
I bought this to replace the one I bought in 2008.
This newer version of the drawer microwave now has a open and close button. I prefer the drawer style, it’s easier to get food in and out of it.
SarojaniP –
Best thing I have done for my kitchen. The drawer works well and food heats up fast. I am happy with my purchase
Dvm9073 –
Great looking appliance. Will test strength in next coming month
MohammadaliK –
Looks good and works perfect. I would recommend to anyone.

Works well. Purchased to replace same model purchased 12 years ago. Price reasonable compared to others. Do wish it came in black stainless…
Buttons somewhat hard to see where we have located in lower cabinet.

I really like this microwave convection oven. So I have to admit that I still have not tried to bake in it cause I’m not a strong baker to begin with but I’m all sorts of curious. Would recommend this super sleek and fancy microwave drawer oven.
JesseS –
Great product especially for price, super smooth controls!

This is my second purchase of the Sharp built-in microwave drawer. My first one, purchased in 2009, was white. Unfortunately white is no longer available so I settled for the stainless steel even though it does not match the rest of my appliances. Why? For one, there are a significant number of helpful functions. The functions are well marked on the display panel which is located on the outside of the microwave. It is a personal preference, but I like display/function panels on the outside of the drawer where I can see them after I’ve closed the drawer. It makes w-a-y more sense to close a drawer and easily set the function rather than memorize the function, close the door, and try to remember the sequence. As for the available pre-programed functions, I regularly use at least two thirds of them. If you forget how to use a function (for example “soften butter” or “defrost chicken”) there’s a cheat sheet attached to the drawer for easy reference. The clock is easy to set. The timer is easy to set. The “open” and “close” functions work smoothly. There is a handy handle to hang a kitchen towel. Most importantly for me, this Sharp microwave is considerably more powerful than others on the market – including significantly more expensive ones; which is why I opted for the Sharp in stainless and did not replace my original Sharp with a rival brand available in white. I also purchased an appliance surge protector to use with the microwave because for all its power my original Sharp microwave could not save itself from an electric power surge courtesy of ERCOT which burned the circuitry to a crisp. Lesson learned. My advice: If you live in Texas or somewhere else with an unstable electric grid, purchase an appliance surge protector. Had I made the investment to protect my first Sharp microwave drawer I’d still have it in that coveted white color.
