I have always wanted to get my hands on the Sennheiser 660s1 and still do, but when I finally came to the conclusion that I was ready to own a pair, the 660s2 had released and with zero hesitation I snagged myself a pair. If you’re going to get this high quality studio headset for yourself I would strongly suggest getting yourself and amp/dac if you don’t already have one. Even if its simply just the wave XLR which is classified as an amp card and is able to supply 250 ohms. It is still a great option, from my own personal experience. I would also suggest that you download the FXsounds application from the Microsoft store as it will alow you to better equalize the soundstage to your own preference. Don’t get me wrong though, even straight out of the box this headset sounded beautiful. I would happily recommend this headset to anyone who is looking for a high quality one. If you’re just reading this to see how people feel about this headset but dont want to spend 600$ I would highly suggest checking out the Sennheiser 560s which is 220$ and is also an amazing headset which was my previous drivers till I bought the 660s2.

Love these headphones. They don’t hurt my ears like my beats did.

It’s my first pair of higher end headphones, so my opinion of them might be a little skewed. But I found them to be very comfortable and have really good audio quality. I find I can wear them for a few hours at a time an not really feel a difference afterwards because they’re open back.

excellent sound quality, and design. also light weight.

The SENNHEISER HD 660 S2 is exactly what was missing from the previous iteration by including low-end bass, adding a much needed punch to an already well performing set of headphones. It delivers exceptionally on all fronts, including music, gaming, movies, and even conference calls.
The one thing I heavily appreciate from the 660 S2 is how the headphones are open back, which while it adds to an incredible sound delivery, they can also act as a makeshift stereo system, allowing others to also listen in to whatever it is your’re listening to.
If you can grab these on sale, they are easily one of the best headphones for everyday usage.

Warmer than the 660S and getting more use these days than my HD800s. While the soundstage isn’t as wide as their flagship, these are just fun and require no EQ’ing. Everything from rock to classical to electronic, they shine and I was surprised at how well they produce bass given the openback design. Light weight and comfy for all day wear.

That bass tho… 5/5 highly recommend. Can buy aftermarket cord to hook up to phone if you dont like the ones out of box

Using these headphones with a Topping DX3 Pro+ and a slightly tuned EQ I saw in a YouTube review. They sound very good and very open. Zero distortion in my usage. Very nice overall

Have tried every gaming headset I could get my hands on and by far this was the best. You need an amp to take full advantage but by far I have been enjoying it.

THESE HEADPHONES MORE THAN SATISFIED MY EXPECTATIONS. i AM VERY HAPPY I BOUGHT THEM AT BEST BUY!

These headphones are an AMAZING start for anyone looking for some top-notch quality headphones. The price tag is definitely an investment, but it will be worth your while. With a wide soundstage and great acoustics, it makes it seem your music is coming in front of you. These headphones are very satisfying for the high treble consumer, not the bass heavy. Keep in mind you will need a dedicated headphone amp and DAC-not a general mic mixer-to utilize the full potential of the headphones since it does have 300 ohms as the max. I recommend the JDS labs combo, which comes out to $230 as a great start, since most amps can be much more.

sound and balance on this set are fantastic. I am a professional composer and music editor and needed a professional set of headphones. Really appreciate these.

The Sennheiser HD 660S headphones have excellent audio quality, comfort, and open-back design. They are my favored for their detailed sound reproduction. If you appreciate high-fidelity audio and an immersive listening experience, the HD 660S could be a solid choice.

I bought the 660S2s for my wife as a replacement for her Bose QuietComfort 15s. A wired headphone was necessary as we both use an MP3 that is not bluetooth compatible. I also have the same Bose/MP3 and did a short term evaluation/comparison of the two brands.
This review is a bit difficult as I have to compare the new 660S2 to my Bose QuietComfort 15s that I’ve had for several years. I had to replace the Bose ear pads on both of our Bose units as they were deteriorating and the after-market replacements are finicky about staying in place. Thus, the first headphone search and replacement went for my wife. However, comparing the 660S2s to the Bose in a replicated A/B test has proven to show little difference in the two (to my ears). The Bose seem to reflect a bit clearer upper range and the bass is comparable. The Bose fit more comfortable as the headband on the 660S2 is too snug. However, the 660S2 pads are more comfortable. The Bose use a single-conductor, light gage wire to connect to my MP3 while the 660S2 has a two-conductor wire, slightly heavier gage and acts a bit more cumbersome. However, the Bose require a battery for speaker power and the 660S2s do not and my MP3 drives them to comfortable volume with no problem. My home audio system does not support headphone use, so I can’t offer any critique with superior source(s). However, my initial intention to buy a pair of 660S2s for myself has waned, and my wife may decide to return hers. Thus, my rating of three stars is only my short experience with testing the 660S2s against a known other headphone utilizing only an MP3 as a source. Others may find the 660S2s perform very well with their audio systems. I believe I will continue my search.

OK first of all, I was aware of the pros and cons of open air overhead headphones. However, I was expecting more from these headphones, especially for the price. I did appreciate the separation and wide sound stage but I was disappointed with the level of bass which I have heard is better than other models. The one thing I could t get passed was how hot my ears got and not from the headphone warming up which didn’t happen but getting too warm from the actual headphone and this was during the winter.
