  1. William

Wow, I can’t believe Xbox came up with this design many customers will definitely have connected to there New Gender console I wait to purchase when more available stock comes in.

  2. JarrettZ

I was very excited to get this to go with my Xbox One X and it would have been a 5 star rating if the rubber feet didn’t easily come off so buyer beware about that. Other than that having 8tb is amazing

  3. Lucifer

Grrat except how do i turn it off when not in use? Its always running even if i turn off my xbox. The hard drive should only be running when in use during transfer of games like moving or copying data.

  4. UNREALsnow

I got this to download games from gamepass on my Xbox series X but only old games download. Not new games that are specifically for Xbox series X or s.

  5. GamerDad

Its a must have!! Now i can store all my xbox 360, xbox one and xbox one x series games all in one place!!

  6. Xboxgamer

Great update. Bought to expand my game storage as tge take up considerably large amount on standard storage.

  7. Jesusb

It does what it supposed to, i do recommend it but the only thing is that it came slightly damaged when it arrived. The porta in the front and the back were shifted. I managed to connect the backs and the front only the usb can be connected with the shift.

There is one positive thing about this item, it’s that you have 8 terabytes of storage available to you, which most likely will take care of all of your storage needs for the duration of time you have your Xbox.

However, there is one major major flaw with it and it’s something you should strongly consider whether or not it’s a deal breaker for your purchase…. When you store games onto this external hard drive, you CANNOT PLAY GAMES DIRECTLY FROM IT. Meaning if there is a game stored on it that you want to play, you must first move it to the main Xbox Series X console itself before it will let you play it. So you lose the spontaneous factor and you must plan ahead because you might want to play a game that’s many dozens of gigabytes in file size and then you’re looking at a big chunk of time you have to wait. So if you plan ahead, such as move the file before you leave for work, or go out for dinner or a movie, then it should be done when you get back.

Major flaw though, no excuse either. You’re spending a lot of money for extra storage, it should be an easy, time saving, convenient and smooth transition for the player. They’re doing it this way to get you to buy that overpriced 1TB storage card that plugs into the back of the Series X for $225.

Hugely disappointed in this item. It’s going to be very aggravating to move games back and forth. Ugh.

Just think long and hard if it’s worth it to you and have to put up with that. If I would’ve known beforehand, I would’ve never bought this thing.

I wish BestBuy would not post inaccurate 1-star reviews from users who do not understand the technology, buy the device, and blame the device. Nexgen systems (xbox x, xbox s, ps5) optimized games have to run from an SSD. They need the read speeds that are in the 1000s… not 100s like a HDD. This large HDD can store the next gen game, but then you have to copy it to the console internal SSD to play, which takes some time. You can leave it there as long as you want, then copy it back to this HDD to make space for a new nexgen game to play from the console SSD. You can store all the Xbox One games on this you want and theyll play from this.

  10. Seagate

Awesome purchase and welll worth the money and easy set up

  11. Tattedup66

Didn’t realize there was a 12gig, Play PopBetter than I thought it would be

  12. BigD

I love it. I bought several smaller hard drives before getting 2 of these seagate game drive hubs. Anyone with over 100 games should get one. Plenty of storage. I have over 200 games on mine and they are about half full. I especially love the fact that it’s a hub also. I can plug in my ssd and not use another port on my xbox series x/s. The transfer speeds are faster than I thought it would be. Not ssd fast, but faster than I thought. My only complaint about it is the green light. While it looks great, you can’t turn it off. Other than that, it fixes all my xbox storage needs

  13. Saithan

Good product for Xbox capacity thanks Microsoft and Best Buy

  14. LGflipphone

This hard drive is great for my grandson’s Xbox system, and he loves it. It gives him plenty of room to have all his games. This is the second one he’s had because the first one got a power surge, and he couldn’t wait to get a replacement. Best Buy is a great place to get all of his electronic things and my computer. Thanks.

  15. Kevin

So far love it, glows beautiful green when Xbox series x on. Disappointed doesn’t use new faster speeds required for newer Xboxs series consoles/games but can still be used to play any Xbox games made for Xbox one to Xbox x speeds. Was a good buy with USB 3.2 speeds. Don’t get full 8TB but like any external storage you lose some, get 7.3 TB of storage

  16. Unknown

This is a good product , works as expected and I’m able to store a lot of my games on it . Now the issue is that sometimes it likes to not connect to my xbox, Act like it’s not plugged in and I have to go over and disconnect/reconnect it . This isn’t something that happens often , so for the most part it’s a great product that I love

  17. Thechef2020

Easy transfer of data. Alot of storage. 87 games on it so far and still 4.5 TBS left

  18. Kaleb

It works as i need it to I’m able to put all of my games on here and i still have alot of storage left.

  19. UnraidClover

If I could give 0 stars I would. Does not play Series X|S games even though it does not say anywhere it doesn’t.

  20. BJ21

Great addiction to my gaming station! Saves me from jumping up all the time to get a nice cold beverage.

  21. SaraG

This was easy to set up and start using. My son was so happy to have more storage for his gaming system.

FOR ANYONE WHO READS THIS. If you’re looking for a Hard Drive to store AND play XBOX Series X games directly from the hard drive, then this drive won’t work for that.
It will store all of your Xbox 360, Xbox One & Xbox Series X games. However, if you want to play directly from the hard drive, you will be only be able to play any Xbox 360 or Xbox One games that aren’t Series X Enhanced/Games. The Series X Games or Series X Enhanced games have to be transferred to the Internal NVME SSD Drive in the Xbox Series X or a Seagate NVME Storage Expansion SSD Card that’s plugged into the Series X.

No matter what… you need NVME SSD Storage to play Xbox Series X games.

The real benefit of this drive is the 8TB of space (at a reasonable price) to store extra games. If you have a lot of Xbox One, 360, Digital Games (like I do) & you would also like some extra storage space for Series X games, then this drive will work well for you. Transferring Series X games to and from the Drive to NVME Storage is also very quick so it’s a breeze to transfer games back and forth. I personally bought a 1TB Seagate NVME SSD Card and this 8TB Hard Drive for my Series X. So I have 2TB of NVME Storage & 8TB of regular storage and even with 2TB, My NVME storage is completely full, so the 8TB really comes in handy to store extra games. Now, I have over 300 games allocated on my storage, so I know not everyone will need that much storage, but if you have a lot of games or intend to have a lot of games, this drive could definitely save you some money on storage rather than buying the more Expensive Seagate 2TB NVME SSD Card which is 400 dollars or something ridiculous.

PROS (Why you should buy it)
    1. You have or intend to have a lot of games (Xbox 360, Xbox One, Digital, Xbox Series X) You can play any of the 360/One/Digital games off of the hard drive except Series X / Series X Enhanced games.
    2. Transferring is quick and easy. Since it plays Xbox One, 360 & digital games off the drive. The only game files you ever need to transfer are Series X games which have a real quick transfer time.
    3. You’re just buying the console & you don’t want to fork over the $$$ for a Seagate NVME SSD Card just yet, BUT you still want extra storage space for games. If you don’t care about the transferring of Series X games back and forth and you just want a bunch of extra storage, You can’t go wrong here.
    4. You could buy a Seagate 1 TB NVME SSD Card and this Seagate 8TB 3.2 Gen Hard Drive and still spend a ton less money than buying the 2TB Seagate NVME Card. And you’d have 10TB of storage (2TB NVME & 8TB Regular). That’s what I decided to do and I’m pretty happy with that decision.

    CONS (Why you shouldn’t buy)
    1. You’re expecting to store and play Series X games off this Hard Drive. It will not play Series X games off the drive, you need NVME storage for that.
    2. It comes with a AC power adapter, so it always needs to be plugged into an outlet AND the Xbox itself (through USB). This may be an annoyance or even a deal breaker for some. I know a friend who just bought two 4TB External USB Drives instead of this Hard Drive because he hated that it had to be plugged into the wall.
    3. It’s louder than External USB drives. You will hear the Hard Drive processing & moving data, it is noticeably louder than smaller External USB Drives. If you think you would be annoyed by sounds coming from the drive, probably not gonna be for you. An external 4TB drive might be a better bet, they are quieter.

    That’s all I got.

  23. Battery

We’ll built and reasonably priced. Adds better storage to Xbox platform.

  24. EARL

Does exactly what it says it does. I got it for my X Box One X series easy set-up. All games downloaded to the hard drive do have to be transferred to the console before they can be played, besides that no complaints.

  25. LauriV

My son enjoys it 🙂 subscribe to DancerPlayzYT 🙂

  26. Overpriced

My external hard drive just quit working today. .

  27. AnthonyM

Performs well, setup was easy and the green Xbox light is supercool. You do hear the hard drive working and the light turns on and off with your console depending on your settings, you do have to plug it in, but for 8Tb of space you can’t go wrong. I even still have my old hard drive still connected to my series X I will not be running out of memory anytime soon!

  28. ThomasH

Its so easy to use! I will say tho you can only choose to use it for games; or media and photos together. If youre a gamer like me then get it for games. If youre a media person for PC or xbox media too, get it for media &photos. So choose wisely

  29. MightySamoht

Disappointed that you CAN NOT play games off the game drive, but you can store your games and transfer to system when you want to play. Totally annoying if you are playing a game with a lot of content packs. After having it for three days ive decided to keep it, for me it only takes minutes to transfer to the system.

  30. Skullslayer244

Does this hard drive work with the X/S gen consoles for loading games onto and playing the games on ?

  31. Fitmarv

I saw this model on line for while. When it went on sell I was happy. Just one day before my brand new Xbox series x run out of space. This storage save my late night game for when my wife and kids go to see. Best Buy save my night.

  32. StevenT

Works great….some series x games are even playable on it.

  33. Danken55

I can say this one payed for my friend drop it still works but been with me longer then white one. But price still should be down do to only good for xbox one x and s.

  34. BrettS

seems to work well for me, haven’t had any problems.

  35. Nice

Who is excellent amount of storage doesn’t slow down

  36. Treborton

Very fast external harddrive. The ssd are definitely faster but this works great for my Xbox. Especially with the new feature of having to be on internal harddrive it makes it transfer over games quickly within minutes.

  37. PatriciaD4066

Return this wrong thing it was a great idea but ordered wrong thing

  38. NathanE

Super fast drive with the usual Seagate reliability. Im going on 6 years now with my old Xbox branded Seagate 4 TB i can only assume i will get the same here

  39. Mike

These aren’t compatible with series s/x games but are a must have if you like to play previous gen games on the series s/x. I hate re-downloading games so this hard drive has saved me the hassle. It’s great being able to unplug it and use it on either my s or x and not have to worry about downloading anything. The next best thing is being able to copy games from one system to the hard drive and then to another system without using any data (even works with series s/x games they just play from this external hard drive) makes it easy when me and my wife want to play a game! I’ll download it on my console with the fastest speed copy the game to the hard drive (faster than downloading) plug the external into the series s and move the game from the external to the series s takes about 5 minutes to port 75 gig games this way instead of 15 minutes each system or longer!

  40. user788195

I got it to store data for my computer, I have ark survival evolved and it’s dev kit so that’s a ton of memory needed so I got this.

  41. AshantiK

It was exactly what I needed was able to expand my driver has all the extra space I needed for games!

  42. Elliott

As advertised. Only problem is that you can not play games optimized for series x/s that are stored on this. You must buy the sea gate internal drive that plugs into the back of the Xbox.

  43. ShawnC

Works great! Keeps me from having to delete and redownload games. Saves my time. Transfer speed is fantastic. A must buy for Xbox Series X.

  44. PoDunk

Great for what i use it for since the newer consles, do not come with enough storage from the get go. No issues so far!

  45. Elite

Fast and powerful hardcore hard drive. All you need!

  46. Matthew

The product is great and was easy to setup. I really enjoy how compatible the external hardrive with my Xbox Series X

  47. Clonelord

Works great only problem is that when playing an optimized game it has to be installed on the internal hard drive

  48. Noonespecial

It’s big and reliable. Had this over a year with zero problems. Had problems with connectivity on my last drive. No problems with this one
