    Samsung could have done a better job with these things. Trying to get them to connect is the worst. Once i did get them connected to both my washer and dryer they work great.

    I bought this Smart Home Adapter for my dryer. Unfortunately, because it’s a gas dryer the only thing it does is notify you when 5e load is finished, you can’t program it to do anything else. That’s fine by me. When I’m watching TV, I’ll get a notification on the screen that it’s finished, which helps so I’m not making multiple trips to the basement to check to see if the dryer stopped.

    Awful functionality. Only works a few times after initial set up. We got consistent notifications from both washer and dryer for about three days after set up. Then it became once every other laundry load, until eventually both washer and dryer appeared permanently offline. At first I thought it was a connectivity issue, so I reset and configured again. NOTHING. The SmartThings app is absolute trash and there is zero useful troubleshooting help available through it. This is a cool product idea but horrifically executed.

    Received the Samsung wifi usb stick for my washer and dryer a couple of weeks before the estimated delivery date… They work as intended with the washer and dryer when connected to Samsung smart things app. Very happy with my purchase.

    I use this for my Samsung washer – Device works well, but you will need a solid internet connection. Notifies you when cycle is complete through SmartThings app. Integrates with Alexa, BUT IS LIMITED….you can ask Alexa how much time remains on a cycle and she will tell you, but you won’t get a notification from Alexa when the cycle is complete. If there was an update where Alexa could announce the end of a cycle, this would have scored higher.

    The WiFi stick works great to connect washer and dry to other iot like TVs and phones to control it. The trick to setting it up is to make sure washer and dryer are on and make sure to hold down wireless button on control panel for 5 seconds until red wireless light comes on

    Works as expected. a bit difficult at 1st to set up but after that they work great. My only problem i have is the fact that i must turn on the smart cycle every time i start a load of laundry or drying clothes. Wish the washer/dryer would remember or know the device was connected and always be active for smart control.

    not the easiest to activate but once its activated it works wonderful, it notifies you when your washer or dryer cycle is completed, needs service, or has an issue with the load. You can also control the settings of the washer and dryer for certain things. (gas dryers are view only the settings but thats for safety reasons)

    I found that i needed this device after some research in order to connect my washer and dryer to the Samsung app. I wasn’t too happy to find this information in my own. There was 2 different items listed as being needed but i bought 2 of these and they seem to work okay. The washer seems to have more control than the dryer through the app but you have to turn the washer in and connect it first for it to work everytime.

    This is a waste of money. Do not work at all. do not waste your money. One complete disaster from Samsung. 2.4 GHz only, no connection to 5GHz band, in my case cannot connect to any. App does not recognize. 1 year later I am still trying and nothing. Samsung has changed the app three times and I couldn’t connect to any. This was a birthday gift, cannot return.

    This is a must for the washer and dryer that I bought. I dont know why Samsung made these instead giving these integrated with washer and dryer. Just to get more money!?

    It is a kind of giving false information when we buy washer and dryer and realize when it got delivered that it is not smart until we have these additionally.

    I would say it is dumb smart concept

    Software for adapter was changed in 2020, so it no longer supports older appliances (in my case, 4 years old but still being sold at stores), only new appliances. The hardware is the right hardware, but they won’t support anything older than very recent.

    I bought two – one for my washer and one for my dryer. As many reviewers stated, the adapters really should have been included with the appliances as mine were specifically bought for the wifi capabilities.

    In any case, the set up leaves a lot to be desired. Physically installing them was a breeze and I went through all the steps in the app. The adapter for the washer worked immediately. The dryer was another story. I struggled for weeks to connect it, and it was only after I found an online forum from users with the same issue did I get it resolved.

    After getting them set up I’ve been very pleased with the adapters. I am able to check the progress of my washer and dryer, select cycles, etc. I’m happy with the capability and though it doesn’t offer every option the washer and dryer panels offer, they allow you to access the most-used ones. I’m overall pleased with the adapters.

    The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is that it’s dumb that it even has to be purchased. The fridge I bought it for should just have had it built-in.

    Otherwise works as advertised.

    Worked until our first power outage and now won’t work on either my washer an dryer. When I purchased these they were $50 and a complete waste of money. The only thing it does is let’s you know where the cycle is an when it’s completely done. You can’t start your washer an dry away from your house unless you turn it on first. Also i had to have them both replaced right after first getting them because they wouldn’t connect. Don’t waste your time. If you want this functionality then buy it already installed into the applience.

    Bought this for my refrigerator after the freezer drawer was left open one night. Plugged it in, opened the SmartThings app, and it connected with no issues. I now get notifications on my phone if any of the doors/drawers are left open.

    Product works as advertised, but setup was a nightmare. After 45 minutes of failed attempts somehow finally was setup in SmartThings and works perfect.

    Unfortunately, it would not work with the app. Tried several of times but it kept failing in the last step.

    The sync process was not easy. I had to change router settings to get it to work which the average person may not know how to do. The support resources were very responsive and gave me a place to start. Once the device was discovered on the network the sync worked and the washer and dryer were successfully added. I love all the new functionality, including the notifications when the washer and dryer cycles are done.

    Added this HD2018GH Adapter to our Samsung Refrigerator because the manual recommended HD39N1230GW adapter was not available. It was easy to install (plug in) and works on our network with the Samsung SmartThings app. It has alerted us when the refrigerator door is left open too long (and when the door gets closed).

    Does not work. Well, it doesn’t work well. After over 30 exchanges with Samsung support, these could not be set up. They forget their settings and there is no hard reset option. Performance is very inconsistent and there are several delays during setup. I was able to connect they dryer one time, but then it reset one day and wouldn’t accept any password. I tried troubleshooting with support for months and still no progress. Support would often ask the same questions that had already been answered (even model numbers, and app versions).

    These Smart Thing USB dongles are great. It took some trial and error and retrying to get them to connect with my washer and dryer but once they were connected they have stayed connected or reconnected on their own. We have a 65 inch Samsung Frame TV and the alerts that the washer or dryer cycle are complete are helpful. We also have other Samsung appliances that hook to the internet and they also show up on the TV or alerts on my mobile device.

    Simply put, it just doesn’t work on my washer that or was created for. I have wasted money on two of these hoping the first was faulty. Nope. It just doesn’t connect.

    This adapter converts some newer washer and dryer smart and app compatible, can control washer and not dryer due to safety reasons. But it’s a time saver, sends notification when a cycle is done.
