This is my third Samsung washer. I purchased this washer 3 years ago and it broke down. Most of the time when I buy large appliances I buy the maintenace insurance and have only used it once. So I didnt buy it this time. Bad mistake. I called Samsung and the cost to have them look at it and fix it is astronomical. Might as well buy a new one (after 3years only and little usage too). Like I said, I had not had problems with Samsung appliances until now and lesson learned in not buying a maintenance plan.

Great washer, the only issue i had is that it came with a dent on it. I couldn’t see the dent before i purchased it, since it was dark and was very well wrapped. found dent until i got home and unwrapped it. For that reason, i removed a star.

We’ve had this washer for almost two years with zero issues so far. Definitely the newest style of washer we’ve ever bought. So many different functions to choose from and we hardly ever do anything but the default cycle.

We purchased this washer and dryer set to replace an LG one that had broken. All of our other appliances are Samsung so I didnt hesitate at all. But after 2 1/2 years of using the washer it is nothing but a hassle with pretty much every load. Constant UR and UB error codes that cause the washer to fill, attempt to spin, bang around, empty the water, try to spin again, and bang around again. The size of the load doesn’t seem to matter, large load or small load it causes it to bang around violently and the basin slams into the sides of the washer. At times it also bounces up and will hit the top edges. Reading online I have attempted all of the “troubleshooting” to try to avoid the error codes but nothing seems to help. Today while attempting to wash 7 towels it took 6 hours of fighting to finally end the cycle. At this point it is out of warranty and the return period so we are stuck with it.

This is the worst washer ever. I have to babysit this piece of crap b/c if I don’t it gets unbalanced and refills itself. Repeat over and over. If I leave the house it will do this all day long. Not sure the purpose of larger Cu. Ft. if it can’t handle the balancing. If I could afford it, I would buy a new unit and put this crap by the curb.

I purchased this Samsung washing machine, model #WA50R5400AV, exactly 2 years ago for $877. It was more than I wanted to spend but you know what they say, “you get what you pay for”. Ugh… I had high hopes for this expensive thing what can I say. It did work pretty well for a little while. Like countless others have reported, about two weeks ago it began having problems with the load becoming unbalanced. When the load is at the final stretch where it goes into the spin cycle it begins to shake then goes into a violent shaking frenzy and the display shows the code “UB” or “UR”. It then will refill with water to attempt to correct the balance issue and then the unbalanced issue starts all over again. As recommended we would pause the washer rearrange the laundry and allow it to attempt to complete but the cycle would just repeat. So we would have to turn off the unit, remove some soaking wet items, even everything out, turn it back on and turn the dial to ‘spin only’ and keep our fingers and toes crossed that it would finally complete the very necessary spin cycle. We have done all that has been recommended. We tried recalibrating. We make sure to keep the loads smaller. We made sure the washer itself was balanced on even floor with nothing touching it. As recommended we thoroughly checked the tub making sure there wasn’t anything stuck in there like coins, debris or whatever. I contacted Best Buy but the cost of having someone come out to diagnose the issue on top of the potential repair costs was not affordable at this time. So I did some research on what exactly the issue could be. I discovered countless reviews of others with the same exact issue with the exact same Samsung washing machine model. Like countless others before me with the same exact experience I purchased 4 replacement suspension rods. It wasn’t exactly easy but after watching a few DIY videos I was able to replace the suspension rods myself. I was so proud of myself and it seemed to have worked…at first…this is Until today! Once again the washer is reporting the error code “UB”. Back to the drawing board I guess!! Ugh beyond disappointing!!

Unfortunately I can’t recommend this washing machine, it started off pretty good but right around the 1 year in we still having issues. It started leaving residue behind, dirt and started making the clothes smell bad.
We followed all the instructions and did regular self cleans even prior the washing asking it needed. We tried everything we read online from cleaning with bleach, vinegar and nothing seemed to help. No one in the house works in construction or anything that would make the clothes super dirty(I work in a cleanroom so no issues there)
Multiple in home visits didnt, tech would saying it just needs a clean mostly, one did replace a part with nothing helping. Finally one decided to have the washer taken apart and the inside of the washer had lots of build up, as if it had been used in 10 + years, tech couldn’t believe it was only 1 year old. That finally got a us a replacement but now we are in the same cycle opening more service request.
I know people before also mention if the drain line was not installed properly but 2 plumbers latter everything is fine on that side too.

It has had a couple issues over the years but its not even 3 years old and every load of laundry the washer has a UB fault. After doing research it very well needs suspension rods. Im used to washers lasting more than 3 years i guess thats the way it is now?

I have been disappointed in most appliances so I’ll give this an “ok” to good for the price. Large capacity washer that will work great for large loads of everyday clothes or quick wash cycles of smaller loads. Note that my wife is 5ft tall and she has a hard time getting clothes out of the bottom of the washer. If you are buying this for the advanced features, like washing a king or queen comforter, this isn’t the model. It also doesn’t have wifi or Bluetooth. In addition to not handling large comforters it doesn’t handle blankets, large towels or throw pillows well and never has even though it says it should. Consistently showing an unbalanced load error and makes a loud banging noise when trying to rinse and spin those type of loads. I just called for service on the unit after 40 months because the Unbalanced Load error is now occurring on any loads, including clothes, but 3+ years without needing service isn’t bad based on previous experiences with LG, Kitchen aid, etc. The issues is likely the 4 rods that hold the drum unit. You Tube videos show an easy repair for when those wear out causing the unbalanced load error. The unit also doesn’t drain well if you are washing anything with a lot of dog hair but I don’t blame that on the washer.

Quite possibly the worst washer I have ever had. Yes, I have had it for 3 years now. It washes fine. The problem is the spin cycle. EVERY load becomes unbalanced. The machine automatically adds water and agitates it, then starts the spin cycle again. Only to become unbalanced again, and start the process all over again, 2 more times! A total waste of water, electricity and time. I have to remove half the load, sort out the clothes and start it on “spin cycle” to finish half the load. Then add the other half and hope it does not become UB again. This 17 minute cycle has lasted over 30 minutes with the constant re-shuffling clothes. Very annoying. My 56 minute cycle has been 2 hours many times.

Been having this appliance for 4 year’s. It comes to day my appliance keeps on throwing U6 code which is unbalanced code. I had geek squad for 5 years protection. At end they didn’t fix it due to serial number fading due to being put underneath lid.
