    I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator from Best Buy on 5/27/2019 (Delivered 6/1/2019), Samsung – 22.6 Cu. Ft. 4-Door Flex French Door Counter-Depth Fingerprint Resistant Refrigerator – Stainless steel
    MODEL CODE: RF23M8070SR/AA
    Due to a design and manufacturing defect in a product, my refrigerator has failed to properly operate since initial purchase. After 6 service visits, the initial problem and now others due to failed maintenance by Samsung continue to persist. Most recently, Best Buy refused to conduct service visits since Samsung was warranting repairs on this refrigerator due to known design defects, the Samsung technician not only failed to fix the appliance but has caused numerous other problems. (water dispenser not working, water leaking from the ice maker into the refrigerator, water pooling into the middle drawer, bottom drawer, and floor, damage to the ice and water dispensing unit due to faulty craftsmanship and failing to properly install and test operation of the dispensing unit before leaving)
    Basically, my refrigerator cannot dispense ice or water, makes a clicking noise if the dispensing unit is pressed, doesn’t make ice, leaks water from the ice maker into the refrigerator and onto my floor, and fails to maintain temperature. The only original problem was that the ice maker was freezing over.
    After Samsung’s final attempt to repair, the technician said that they would have to replace the entire refrigerator since he was unable to fix the unit and that I would be contacted. I have been without full use of this appliance since before September 8, 2020. Samsung has not made an effort to fix these issues or replace the product.
    Total repair attempts on the refrigerator (listed by date with texts and photos as backup): After the initial repair in 2020 failed, we just lived with the problem because we did not want anyone in our house during Covid,
    1. September 8, 2020 – Due to Ice maker freezing over – Best Buy service
    2. February 11, 2022 – Due to Ice maker freezing over – Best Buy service
    3. February 22, 2022 (Cancelled by Best Buy, they will not repair the ice maker anymore since it is a known issue by Samsung for this device) – Due to Ice maker freezing over – Cancelled
    4. February 25, 2022 – Due to Ice maker freezing over – Samsung service – failed, water began leaking from the ice maker into the refrigerator and onto the floor.
    5. March 16, 2022 – Samsung Service – Due to ice maker leaking water internally and externally, temperature control, ice/water failing to dispense etc. – (Samsung says/lies that this service was not completed, the technician arrived took apart the refrigerator door and attempted to repair/replace parts) Photos attached to show the technician arriving and leaving.
    6. March 22, 2022 – Samsung Service – Due to the unit leaking water all over my house. Technician failed to fix the issue, left the unit in a severe non-working condition due to poor craftsmanship, and told us Samsung would call to replace/refund the unit.

    Samsung has not resolved this issue.

    I really enjoy having a refrigerator with ice and water in the door. The 3rd drawer is just perfect for cheese and lunch meat etc so that the upper larger doors do not have to be opened. It might take me awhile to get used to how the doors and the inside drawers are opened – very different then I am used to.

    Great addition to our modern kitchen. 2 things I dislike, the water pitcher and the deli drawer. The pitcher leaks when poured. It’s a poor design. The deli drawer takes up space. It’s not a need for us, it’s an unnecessary luxury.

    The refrigerator fit the room perfectly. We liked the 3rd door for soda or lunchmeat etc. It was difficult to get used to how the doors opened – as well as the inside drawers, It is very silent. It is supposed to resist fingerprints – but I find that is not really ture.

    Where to start. Ice maker froze over and locked up. Cable for control panel frayed and could not adjust controls, water pitcher leaked, water pitcher fill switch had issues and pitcher would not fill,produce drawer wheel broke, freezer drawer keeps coming off track,. The power started cutting out when we would open the middle drawer. Replacing it with a more reliable brand. Very disappointing. Will not get Samsung again.

    I was worried about the fridge not having handles but WOW the extra space we gained by not having handles is amazing. Love the middle FLEX drawer and the water pitcher inside the door is key.

    absolutely love this fridge! after specifying the previous model for my clients, this newer version has a preview window in teh beverage section which is super useful especially with kids who often want to open fridge and just stare what’s inside. I love the “endless water pitcher” inside and several other features that make it very practical. as a designer, it’s very sleek and elegant

    Purchased in July 2018. Had ice-maker freezing issues but was able to have repaired/resolved. Have loved this fridge up until this year when I have had 3 episodes in the past 3 months of the fridge not staying cold. Have had repairs done 3 time (adding coolant & sealant). Last repair was about 1 month ago and late last week the temp once again failed to stay cool. Repair team came out again, added more sealant & coolant but fridge never got below 50 degrees. Currently both fridge & freezer are 60+ degrees. All contents will have to be discarded and replaced again. Will likely give up on this one and purchase another brand. Simply cannot recommend based on unreliability and poor performance after only 3.5 years of use.

    I’ve had this fridge for about a month, but absolutely hate it. I would give it 1 star but all those reviews are just sour grapes. The fridge operates well and looks good, but it just isn’t a great package. A lot of poorly utilized space, doesn’t produce enough ice (and painfully slow to dispense), cumbersome to switch from water to ice. No problems with the operation, it just isn’t functionally designed well. I realize counter-depth is smaller, but this just doesn’t innovate on packaging. I’m unfamiliar with other 4-door designs, but why have dividers that have everything mix together? And I think it may lead to wasteful unusable space. I love Samsung in general, but I’m returning this one.

    I like the ridge. I just don’t believe that its really finger print resistant. I’m constantly having to clean off the fingerprints. Magnets don’t stick to it.

    Our ice maker has gone out and been repaired multiple times. Same issue. Samsung and Best Buy probably spent more replacing the ice maker than the refrigerator cost at this point.

    NEVER buy a Samsung refrigerator!!!!! The ice maker freezes up all the time! Also, the thermostats in both fridge and freezer fluctuate. There isn’t a fix for this problem. I ignored all the reviews that said this bc I LOVED the way this fridge looked. Don’t make my same mistake.

    Do not buy this refrigerator. Don’t buy a Samsung refrigerator. I have replaced the ice maker before 2 years of owning it…now the display has an issue. Best Buy and Samsung is saying the manufactures warranty is only a year. Bestbuy total tech is trash when it comes to things such as this. I’ll never again.

    We had to deal with multiple service calls with this fridge just to fix the ice maker. It was replaced multiple times and never worked past the 2 to 3 months mark after replacement. I have been an Elite member of Best Buy for more than 15 years and have been extremely disappointed by their gotcha attitude around their warranty considering the ice maker as an accessory. I ended up buying a new fridge because i was tired of having this crap in my kitchen for more than two years and waisting time on service calls. I started reconsidering my Best Buy first attitude when it comes to big purchases now. Don’t buy this fridge!

    This is a terrible product. Samsung has lots of complaints about their compressor. Our failed in less than 4 years and despite its warranty, we’ve been fighting for Samsung for them to honor it and they have not done it. It has been a nightmare of an appliance.

    This was a great product at first. Then about 6 months into owning it, the ice maker quit working. Samsung customer service was very good. They came out and replaced it. About 4 months after that it broke again. They came and replaced it again. Then 6 months later the ice maker broke yet again. This is a huge problem with these units.

    BAD: The ice maker is a known issue (search it) and will freeze in place and waste hours of your time thawing .. . Now, after 4 years, the freezer has also stopped working. Beyond the spoiled food, the aggravation and time wasted with their 800-Samsung is not worth the $2.5k purchase price

    Worked fine for 2-3 years and then stopped cooling properly in both departments. It took 3-4 weeks and over $1K in food spoilage/inoperable use costs before the issue was fixed after 4-5 Samsung Tech visits. About 2 months later the issue is back and Samsung is giving me the run around again.

    Ice Maker doesn’t work. It gets blocked up and you cannot remove the ice maker and therefore the tray gets broken when trying to remove from the fridge. Then have to chip away at the ice that is stuck.

    The ice maker has stopped working several times in the three-and-a-half years we’ve had this fridge. Our third (!) repairperson pointed out a huge design flaw: the ice maker is in the fridge part of the unit instead of the freezer. Lots of parts being replaced. Lots of water dripping. And this evening, the final nail in the coffin, smoke started billowing from the ice maker. I’m hoping Samsung or Best Buy will be able to send us a new one. But a different model.

    Garage.. started to rust on the door panels within 6 months, ice machine would drawer freezes and is basically impossible to remove.. freezer broke after 3-4 years. Junk junk junk.

    I love the refrigerator, and the middle drawer is great. However, after a year we started having trouble with the ice maker backing up. We have to thaw it out with a hairdryer and chip the built up ice away. Now I am at two years and it’s happening more often so I finally called and have a service tech coming out to address it. Samsung customer service was easy to work with. Other than that, we have enjoyed this refrigerator.

    Well known problem with Samsung refrigerators. Ice maker freezes over constantly and youll have to chip the ice away every few days. If you dont it will freeze over so badly that you will not be able to pull the ice maker out at all. Already had it replaced once and again gave had zero ice for the last month because its a well known problem and will keep happening no matter what you. As someone else stated the plastic around the doors also cracked on mine. Fought tooth and nail to have that replaced. Customer service is also HORRIBLE. They will blame everything on You to the extent of sounding ridiculous!

    I’ve had this refrigerator for 4.5 years now and there are several pros and cons which is why I gave it an average rating. As far as the mechanical aspects, everything still runs just fine and we’ve had no need for repairs. I love the middle drawer for extra space. Fits canned drinks perfectly. The interior is spacious and shelves can be moved around for “custom” set up. I don’t think I’ve ever run out of room. And I love the auto fill pitcher in the door. We didn’t think we’d ever use it but we do! Cons: this is definitely not fingerprint resistant. With two little ones and no handles, the outside is always covered in smudges. The other con is the freezer pull out. The drawer isn’t smooth at all and gets stuck sometimes. Even worse, the drawer within the freezer constantly comes off the tracks and I have to pop in back into place which is really loud and feels like you’re breaking something. I’ve pushed the freezer shut a few times thinking it was closed but turns out I left it just the tiniest bit open, small enough that the beep didn’t chime, and the stuff in my freezer started to thaw. So the freezer drawer definitely needs some work. Very wonky and rough and not smooth open and close at all. Overall, I would not purchase another Samsung refrigerator again.

    Purchased Jan 2019. In that 4-year time frame: The ice maker stopped working last year. It was replaced but Samsung had to be sued (class action) first. Now, it’s quit cooling and we’ve been without a fridge for 2 weeks with still no resolution in sight. Our Samsung oven that we bought in a complete kitchen package has also had multiple services. Think twice…

    This fridge would be nice if I didn’t keep having so many problems with it. The ice maker for this model will freeze so it can’t dispense ice. Not only that, but we have a 10 year warranty for the compressor and for the last week I have been trying to get Samsung to cover it and they will not honor it. So now, my wife and I are stuck in a snow storm without a fridge because Samsung wouldn’t help us before the snow got here. You can buy better brands at better prices instead of Samsung.
