Mikey84voice –
Great tool for adding voice to tutorials. Easy set up. Great quality of voice. Numerous options for sound of voice

love the design and how the mic stands up on my desk. the mic is sensitive – had to move it around on my desk so it didn’t pick various sounds such as my fan. aside from the sensitivity – i think it’s a great mic.

I bought this to do voice overs with my Apple. It was instantly recognized and I was able to get VERY clear voice with little to no white noise being picked up. Can’t wait to try it with music recording.

I needed a good mic for Youtube and instructional videos, and this did not disappoint. I’m used to computer mics picking up everything – noise from the computer’s fan, sound echoing off the walls, etc. – but this mic filters out background noise quite nicely.

I used this to record my voice student and then took the file and sent it to a notation program. By using this mic it made it so much easier to notate than having to do it by ear. In fact, that’s why I bought this specific mic.
techno21 –
Excellent! My son says the recording quality is very clear. I was easy to hook up and use.
Tammy12st –
Was worried about background noise but it wasn’t a problem at all! Definitely recommend this product.

No, really… This thing is fantastic. I can’t believe how good it sounds. I got it on sale so the price was great too. >$100 But even at regular price this has great sound. I’ve had issues with my sound-card delaying the sound I’m recording. That is no problem since this has an onboard aux jack, and also ability to turn off the microphone, and it has a volume level.
If you are using windows it will also allow you to listen to what ever you are playing on the desktop and you can hear yourself singing over it.

I purchased this microphone because it seemed to be a favorite among home studio podcasters. The design is evocative of an old timey mic, with sci-fi influence. Very art deco. But who cares how it looks? The sound is fantastic for an under $100 microphone. Like typical condensers, it is highly sensitive. I have to drop back to avoid picking up my breathing. I also opted to put it on a regular mic stand, as placing it on my desktop meant it got the computer hum through the desk. But that just means it does its job very well. The fold up tripod and bag make it great for portable recording. I use it with a usb adaptor in my ipad. The pass through headphones feature is nice. All in all, for a low-budget amateur podcaster who likes to do on location recording sometimes, this thing is nearly perfect.
fatz22 –
The only big problem with this mic is that you have monitor the volume of sound.arty too high of a decibel, the mic pops

I bought this microphone to record a teaching presentation. I had wanted to settle for one with a lower price and a store attendant recommended the Samson – SAMTR Meteor Mic because I kept stressing that I wanted a mic that did not pick up outside noise. I was set back by the price but it turned out to be a pleasant investment.

I have been looking for a microphone that is easy to carry and to utilize in a multitude of locations with my laptop. This mic completely is beneficial for all purposes.
DarylSr –
Worked great in a noisy gym. Sound was clear and distinct.

I needed a mic to narrate videos and for the low price and small size the Sampson cannot be beat.
DanC54 –
I use this on my Mac for so many apps I cant list them all here. The quality is excellent for my purposes and the mic is well made.
Cove21 –
Bought this to use for a small meeting where people were going to be calling in through Microsoft Lync and listening to about 15 people in a conference room. The mic was easy to set up and use. We did have to use the mute button when those on the call were talking to avoid feedback for them as the mic picked up the speaker. People could talk in a normal voice from about 15 feet away and be heard perfectly online. I’ve also used it back in the office on a Skype call with a few people in the office. Again, worked perfectly and seemed to do much better than the mic on the video camera. The folded up size makes it very easy to transport to meetings.

Overall, a good versitile mic. I use it primarily for voice recording with power point presentations. Care must be taken to avoid background noise such as computer fans coming through on recording. Close proximity talking sometimes produces pops on recording when pronouncing P words. I found best recording results acheived when at least 3 ft away from mic and speak loud. Very clear recordings are acheivable.
blaine221 –
The mic is great, all metal body, really sturdy legs. Easy to use and set up. Only flaw was it picks up to much back ground noise for me
computergeek10 –
I use it for voice recognition at work all day every day. It has nice background noise reduction, and has a good range–you don’t have to be right in front of it. Due to its light weight, it is easy to transport, and move around on the desk. Downside is that the voice pick up is spotty at times. It is the best microphone I’ve found for transportability but still looking for better sound and voice recognition.
Treavis –
Decent product, nothing bad to say about it. Does what I need it to do.
luckyfreebird77 –
FDoesnt feel like a toy, a nice substantial product.

I was needing a good mic to use with my iPad Air. After a lot of research, I decided on the Samson Meteor Mic. No regrets! It is a great improvement over the iPad’s internal mic. I use it to create lecture videos that I post to YouTube. The sound quality is excellent. You do need a special adaptor for the iPad – another 30 bucks.
lilbunique –
It’s perfect for recording, portable, and classy look
MidianMead –
I got this unit because it was priced well and I noticed that it did in fact have a metal cage on it. I use it for when I’m recording Skype games and I have a group at my table playing with remote players. The sound quality isn’t as good as what I would expect from a dedicated mic like this; I believe its a little high priced for what you are getting.

I bought this microphone for my son. He is enjoying it.

Ive had this now for a few weeks of heavy daily use in TS and in game and the sound im told is crisp+ clear .Im surprised something this small is so well built and so versatile with the tri pod stand. The only reason i gave this a Good on Durability is it seems it could be its only fault in the future ,and thats a huge IF.The stand screws can be easily tightened if they loosen .Cant find and real areas this could falter vie craftsmanship.I would rate this above the BLUE series TBH A true Value .Wish my Best Buy had the Black ,but this is as good to be listening to recordings of myself as when i was on-air @ a radio station .I can see myself buying another for my son and maybe another to just have in case something comes up,at this price you cant go wrong .Ill be watching for more products from Samson 🙂

I use this microphone for voice overs on home movies. It recordings are clear and crisp.
Dubasaur –
It is not too bad. I do not regret purchasing this item. 🙂
MusicRabbit –
This microphone works decently. I had been spoiled by using a Blue Yeti at work. This one was about 2/3 the price and it has some shortfalls that make up for that price difference.
The Good:
It has a better sound than most cheap, gimmicky microphones you will find in box stores. The Meteor has a headphone port, thus allowing you to record while hearing the background music, but not picking it up in the microphone. The best thing about the meteor mic, is that it just works. It works well with the plug and play USB, having worked for me on a Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac osX systems. No downloads or drivers needed.
The Bad:
I was immediately drawn to the design and look of the Meteor Mic. It has 3 collapsible legs that allow it to stand on the desk or other surface. You really cannot leave them all collapsed, as the third leg will then block the USB input making the mic unusable in that “closed” position. More disappointing was the “volume knob” shown on the front of the device. This knob controls not the “input volume,” which most microphones have, but rather “headphone volume,” which is rather superfluous.
Overall it was priced right, but if you were looking for a slightly better microphone, maybe look to another slightly more expensive microphone.
WGLim –
I was worried about getting this microphone because I already had a Samson mic that was $10 more than this. You know how it goes in the market, you spend more, you get more. So I was nervous that spending $10 less would hamper me from doing the things that I could do with my other microphone. I was wrong. This microphone is awesome. My favorite part about it is that it comes with its own legs and that you can put headphones inside the mic to better hear yourself and what you are recording.

Great portable mic for road trips! Goes perfectly with my traveling V.O. career!
itouch09 –
Pretty decent sound quality on vocals. I’ve used 3 different programs with it
TimL –
Needed a mic to pick up room audio for group webcasts. Crystal clear. I have BluSnowball on another setup and equal quality if not better.
GSAgent –
This is the first USB mic I’ve ever bought and it’s awesome! I only use it for low key recording on my laptop with my voice and a guitar, but it is much better than my on board mic. If you are doing more professional type work, I would suggest getting something of higher quality, but for the price you are getting an awesome product.
Jack –
It is compact, sturdy and simple to set up, and the price was right.
pojesama –
Easy to use. Sound quality is good. Cool throwback, Flash Gordon Spaceship design. Great value for the price.
Taxman –
My wife uses it for voice over work. The sound quality is pretty decent.
Basstriz –
Simplicity and quality, two easy ways to describe this mic. There was no program installation, just plug and play, and the quality is phenomenal for such a low price. As a drummer, I can tell the difference of two sticks from the same pack, from 10 feet away from the mic.
Rubber feet for standing up, option for a mic arm, mute button right in front; it really does give you the simplicity and the options one would need. If you’re looking for a great mic to start out with for recording, either voice audio or anything else, this really is an exceptional package for you.
LeeAnn –
This microphone is a high quality mic for a good price. You definitely get what you pay for.
susan –
This little microphone was plug and play out of the box. I used it with Audacity to make a few recordings and will probably be using it to make Audio books for my husbands book series. It is a solid piece of metal. The volume knob is plastic(not sure why they didn’t make it metal as well). Recording quality was much better than an older microphone I had. Nice carry/storage pouch as well.
Christopher –
I bought this mic to use with garage band and it works surprisingly well. I record vocals and multiple instruments including electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and ukulele. With the right settings it records all instruments very well. I would suggest recording each instrument individually for best results. Worthy mic for home recording, especially at the price.
Cindy –
We were looking for a microphone for our daughter and this one has been perfect. Great value, easy to use and no problems have come up.
DrFola –
Bought this for son to use on a music assignment. He has only used it once but it appears to function to expectation. Time will tell if this is a good buy or not…
jay5 –
Great microphone for recording any thing and I would recommend it
Straitshot –
Besides its aesthetic appeal, this is one of the most sensitive mics I have ever used! Sturdily built and it picks up even whispers at 20 feet. Well worth the investment.
grantmdenison –
I used this microphone for recording music, it was not great quality and did not meet the specifications I was looking for.
john –
very clear sound and really easy to setup! great for games, podcasts, discord…a must buy for a computer mic!
JustAnotherCustomer –
The included cable failed after a few months. Also, before the cable failed, not-otherwise-present clicks and pops were inserted into the recorded signal. Had it not been for these problems, I would have rated it 5 stars.
DiamondDPage –
It’s a really good microphone but it does attract a lot of finger prints. Sound quality is good and samples at 16/48 at the highest.
