    This particular unit was defective. Apparently Rode had a bad run early on and the smart pads were prone to just firing off sound effects at random. I returned it. The store did not have any others so I got a refund and bought one from another vendor. When working properly, the unit is remarkable. There is a lot packed into this little box. No directions, but You Tube is very helpful. Best purchase I ever made.

    This is a really good device for Podcasts abd streaming, however there’s somethings that need to be worked around when using it with a desktop (I will leave some examples in the photos).
    It’s not very intuitive if you want to record instruments but it’s almost perfect for everything else. I just need something smaller like the rodecaster duo!

    Great podcast gear and versatile. I did not give 5 stars because I had to return it 3 times. First time, USB 1 due not work, returned it. On second purchase, the unit without warning freezes. You have been to power off. I love the features and what it does but too much wahala for a $700 device.

    What I wanted from the start was to be able to connect my headset, mic, and have all my audio come thru one device. I was able to achieve this while using the RCP2. I also love that that you can map Midi keys to the SmartPads, I am able to Start/End wither my Recordings/Streams all on this one device. Another amazing point about the device is how you can pop in a MicroSD card in the back and plug in the device into an outlet and begin a Mobile Podcast if you wanted, you have 4 XLR inputs along with 4 headset ports if you had multiple guests. TL:DR if you want an amazing all in one mixer this is it. I am able to control my streams/audio/game colume/chat volume all at my fingertips.

    The Rode was a huge disappointment. You have to use Rode adapters for anything to work. And the adapters and cords made by Rode are on back order. I returned my product. Run away do not walk away RUN away!

    This was a huge learning curve from my goxlr but i have been loving this device. I bought this due to doing multiple kinds of content where i use a different mic for different content and this has saved me a ton of time.

    I’m using these one for a while. One of the things that you must know is one day the ON button is going to fail. Second, no matter how you configured every channel when you go online your audio is going to be LOW.

    The only reason I still have it is because I kept it too long and I lost my chance to send it back. Right now, I’m using a Tascam Mixcast 4 and the Rode is somewhere getting dusty.

    This thing is a beast. I use it for podcasting, streaming, and recording music. The built in audio processing has made my Shure SM58 sound as good as the SM7B. I love the flexibility of the device, and use it every day.

    This device packs a lot of functionality in a small package. Despite that, I think it is seriously over priced. This unit is filled with functionality to bring a lot to podcasting. Somethings about the design trouble me. A part of the unit generates a lot of heat, and some users report the top metal panel coming unglued. The latest firmware update didn’t add much that is really useful, and now the de-easer doesn’t work. So, lots of features in a small package for podcasters, software updates seem to lack regression testing and break as much as they fix. The warranty last a good long while, but I fear many of us will need to take advantage of that and ship our units to California for repair. It’s a nice idea, and packs a lot inside, and if the company can get their programming act together and fix things instead of breaking things it might almost be worth the money. Would I buy it again? Not unless the company gets their programming and build quality issues together.

    Great option for mixing a podcast or doing simple audio recordings. I’ve used more advanced consoles at work that are better but this is perfect for a smaller production or hobbyist. This one has a lot of nice upgrades over version 1.

    This machine is phenomonal for podcasts and recording, for streaming I have the GoXLR where I can seperate music, game, voice chat, mic, and all my sounds, i got this thinking it was going to be the same but with more faders, but its not, you can only setup 2 different things, system and chat. I did email rode and they said they are working on it, BUT at the moment, it is not meant for streaming unless you are okay with only having 2 seperate channels and only using 2 faders.

    Overall this is a great unit. I love the smart tabs for sound effects and the faders work beautifully. However I didn’t like how it takes the place of my interface. I switch between both depending on what I am working on. If you are wanting to podcast or stream this is a must have.

    It can be challenging to understand the settings, but there are lots of people using this device so you can easily find sources to learn form on the internet. Gives you pretty good freedom to setup your audio, and I was impressed by the pre-amp on it that is quite more powerful than most DACs, it made it possible for me to use a SM7B without a Cloudlifter while not having any humming form amplifying the volume in software. While it is pricier than the GoXLR it also gives you more features

    I have had this product for roughly 2 weeks. I will say im impressed with the preset features. Comes with several audio effects, sound clips, and options to add more. Gives you capability to control volume on apps individually and for the SM7B microphone its perfect. I play in discord and make content and its perfect for both.

    The Rodecaster Pro 2 is probably the best audio purchase I’ve ever made. It’s incredibly versatile and one of the best quality machines for consumer purchase. There’s a little bit of a learning curve but it’s worth the effort. This mixer makes my podcast sound fantastic!

    This is the 3rd rodecaster pro 2 that I have had. The first one wouldn’t connect with my WiFi so I sent it back. The second one worked great for a week and all of a sudden it’s smart pads started going crazy triggering itself. So I sent it back I told the Best Buy employee that if the next one has problems I was going with another mixer but I guess the third time is the charm! It has worked flawlessly! I was getting worried at first but there hasn’t been any problems with the 3rd one! I would have given it 5 stars but I took off a star for each return.

    I am now returning my 2nd unit to Best Buy as they’ve someone now managed to ship me a 2nd used unit listed as a new price. It’s covered in scratches, fingerprints, and clearly has been sitting on a shelf. The 2nd one I received was worst than the first.

    The first return, the person on duty ensured me they would ship it directly to my house and make sure it was new. It’s very very easy to see the scuff marks on the bottom and fingerprints.

    After thousands of dollars and years doing business with Best Buy, I’m officially out. They can’t be trusted to sell you a product as new anymore without trying to pawn off a shelf unit. I can’t believe they tried this twice – on a $700 unit no less.

    BUYER BEWARE

    I’ll update this once I return the second one as I still want one and I can pretty much guarantee they’ll only give store credit for their own screw up.

    It does literally everything I wanted it to. It’s got several profiles, onboard recording capability and you don’t need a cloudlifter with it should you have a gain-hungry mic like an SM7b.

    Audio comming out of this thing is real good comming from using usb and bluetooth audio.

    Setup is time consumming and found it hard to diagnose feedback issues. (My biggest issue here. )

    I have it pared with the rode condenser mic which I love.

    If you dont need a condenser mic or have background noise I would get the dynamic mic. It will most likely save you some tuning time.
