Description
  • THE SERIES FLAGSHIP
The job of any range topper for REL is to deliver more of everything, particularly output and dynamics. The 9x is no different in this regard, as it delivers the goods in both music and theatre applications.
  • Reimagined, Then Reengineered
Our engineers, recognizing the need for greater acoustic volume to achieve the goals of greater fluidity and power, work dimensions to fool the eye into seeing a smaller, more compact footprint even though cabinet volume increases.
  • Outsized Performance
To achieve higher output with better control requires a complete overhaul of the suspension components. Much like the suspension on a sports car, it’s responsible for the tuning and feel of our designs. By increasing cabinet volume, efficiency is improved yielding higher output.
  • 300W Amplifier
The powerful 300 watt mosfet amplifier used in the T/9x remains an icon with huge reserves of current, massive power supplies but small upgrades are found everywhere.
  • Arrow Wireless
REL never rely upon digital compression as it results in thin, lifeless sound. Instead, we have perfected an Arrow™ Wireless system.

  1. Born2BeHerd

This sub is great for pairing with other speaker to get the full range of sound. This is a completely different way to think of subs.

I do not recommend this sub as home theater sole sub. It struggles with the lower frequencies.

  2. Mark6821

Very powerful, I have to set it at ~20% of volume.

  3. TVenterEntertainmentroom

  4. David

  8. MichaelF

I’m returning my second sub in less than a few months. The cones weren’t sealed. I’d turn them on and hear a rattle.

  9. Jefferylk0

Sub sounds incredible. It takes a bit of tinkering to set the levels correctly.
Set you receiver to LFE + Main
Use the receiver auto correction without the speakon high level connected to set LFE.
Use the speakon cable connected to set the crossover at 30 Hz and bring up the high level knob until it blends with the speaker volume.
Finally bring up the crossover until too much muddy and back down to until you here clean bass.
Once setup it sounds great for both movies and music. The high/ low speakon really extends the front speakers. I tested down to 5 hz!!! Could see the front cones move 5 times a sec. Too cool!!

  10. MatthewtP

Super responsive and tight bass. I have setup for home theater and hits the lows and highs perfect. Dual t9’s is the way to go.

  11. Excellent

Excellente good deep movie theater sound quality effect

I purchased the Rel t9 subwoofer it only lasted three years, they did not fix it for me or get it replaced. Even with extended warranty. It was sent to Rel acoustics and they said it was the amplifier that failed. They did nothing to fix it or replace it.

  13. MichaelB

I really like my T9-i. I have a second room now and the T9-x is just better. Tighter and more powerful. Also it looks sleek.

The product is amazing. Best Buy delivery was quick and package was well wrapped. Was an open box item but was in pristine condition, just as advertised!

I purchased the Best Buy Geek Squad with my hime theater purchase. They set it up for me “professionally installed”.. within a week the sub blew the seal around the speaker. It seperated completely and just sounded like horrible loud rattles.. I called and it took a coupke of weeks to get them to replace it. Once again “professionally installed ” and it lasted 2 days.. so again I called and had it replaced for the exact same problem. They told me it must be a bad system and replaced the head to the system which is a top of the line Marantz system… as well as the subwoofer, and once again “professionally installed it” and now once again, two movies later its rattling and chattering and sounds terrible.. if I could give it zero stars I would.. its now been numerous REL subs and the exact same problem with all of them. The speaker comes apart from the foam seal and chatters terribly.. cant even use my theater that cost me over $14,000 to build. What a worthless pile of trash the REL sub is. I spent 1500.00 for it and its absolutely WORTHLESS

Hooked it up and played a couple of The Who songs. Thought for a moment Kieth Moon was beating me about the face with his drum sticks and kicking me in the forehead. Coupled with Mcintosh MA252 and Klipsche Forte IVs. Monster created.
