- STUNNINGLY SIMPLE
Perfect for small and medium rooms, T/5x seats perfectly into any décor. Floor-firing is part of its secret; bass energy strikes the floor and spreads uniformly throughout the space making it perform like a larger model. - Designed for Elegance
Our engineers, recognizing the need for greater acoustic volume to achieve the goals of greater fluidity and power, work dimensions to fool the eye into seeing a smaller, more compact footprint even though cabinet volume increases. - Faster & Deeper
T/5x borrows a single longthrow 8” (200mm) bass engine from its elder sibling, T/7x. Developed using a composite of aluminum and light paper, this cone captures details that will amaze, while supplying sufficient energy to plumb deeper than one would expect for its size. - 125W Amplifier
T/5x builds on its predecessor’s reliable, expensive 125 W Class A/B amplifiers. Internally, key items significant to upgrading transparency and speed have been upgraded at no cost to REL’s legendary reliability. - Arrow Wireless
REL never rely upon digital compression as it results in thin, lifeless sound. Instead, we have perfected an Arrow™ Wireless system.

I tried SVS Micro, SVS Pro 1000, with my Marantz PM8006 and Polk Audio R200s. Neither can do what this REL does. I used the high output speaker input from the PM to the REL. Within 20 minutes set up and adjustments were set. I know my system and room, so placement and settings were a breeze. The SVS subs were a chore to try and integrate, even with their phone app. They never really made a difference. The REL was instant. The depth, texture, weight, pressure of the sound was immediate. The entire music spectrum sounded fuller and complete from Vocals being fuller, drums having texture and different sounds, even high notes had a weight and presence to them. Yes presence was added to everything. If you truly love 2 channel music add this sub and you will thank yourself. It is that much better and different from the SVS Micro and 1000 Pro. The high level input carries the tone of the PM to the REL, a perfect match with the R200s. The REL is a tank and performs all the heavy lifting you will need.

Awesome subwoofer for small rooms. Using in a stereo configuration and the sound become even better

This sub is fantastic. Sounds phenomenal for how small it is. Love how it can be tame or crazy without missing a beat.

Oustanding, just what I needed. REL makes great products.

Has a great bass sound. Opted to get a wireless adapter, which allows me to place it anywhere in my theater room with the wires being an issue.

If you want floor shaking bass, this isn’t for you. But if you want reference sound to match quality speakers then it simply cannot be best for the price. Design is absolutely beautiful as well.

This is an incredible sub for music listening. Plenty of low bass extension and plenty of punch to give the impression of drums and anything it is replicating. Tight and musical. I love my REL!

Works very well with my system. My main speakers are rated at -3dB at 40 Htz. So they don’t need much help at the bottom end.
Very nice quality.
Only minor negative that I have found, is that the knobs are metal. When I get up out of my chair to make an adjustment, I invariably pick up a static electricity charge. When I go and touch a knob, I get a shock, and it creates a loud “Thump” from the sub. The knobs should be isolated from the electronics. That’s why I deducted 1 star

It did not preform. I don’t know if I just got a bad one or what, but it would not produce much sound with out turning it almost completely up. I wish my experience would have been different. I had heard some many great things about your subs. I will try again.

This Sub came highly recommended by my AV Consultant at Best Buy to go with my B&W speakers. I am definitely loving this and drives great Bass.

I am a total noob to hifi and this was a my first venture into it after about 20 years. Bought this for a 2.1 set up. Cambridge audio integrated amp and Dynaudio emit 30 speakers.
The good – subjective, but I think the sub looks beautiful, probably the best looking sub I have seen.
Build quality is premium, feels like a little tank though this the second smallest sub from REL.
The bad- bad is a little harsh, but you get what you pay for ( though at a premium). Goes down to 32 hz, If anyone is into chest thumping bass, don’t bother. My other problem is that it is / was a pain to set up the “right” volume and crossover. A few common sense additions like input selection indicators for the knobs will go a long way. Surprised that there were no visual indicators, that would really help rather than “set the volume at 14 clicks and crossover at 8 clicks with the knob”. Also the online advice to place the sub isn’t really gonna work if you aren’t a rabid audiophile (spend hours setting up and listening and adjusting) and unless you have a dimensionally accurate “listening room”. My real works scenario is a finished basement with real world shapes and dimensions where the room opens up to a larger space. I can’t keep it in a corner, period. The high level input is grossly overrated and to my untrained ears, a gimmick. Rel should probably supply a high quality cable instead, again just my opinion as it’s my review! If I had the budget I would have bought the 7 or 9x or bought something with more power ( at least in paper) but less expensive.
Bottom line – do your research, you may love it or be left wondering why you didn’t try other models/makes in similar category. Will probably use it for couple of years and see if REl have an exchange program similar to svs

This sub adds depth to your music. It integrates very well to your main speakers. Fast accurate and tonally rich. It never calls to itself. Amazing sub for the money.

For the cost, size, and power of this sub it is punching well above its weight class. I have it paired with some Sonus Faber Lumina 5 towers and it blends seamlessly and effortlessly. For only an 8 inch sub with 125 watts it shakes my living room more than any other sub I have had in the space. It also pulls double duty, being extremely smooth for music and very punchy and low for movies. 10/10 would recommend this sub!

I bought this and an SVS for my two channel stereo set up. This SVS went back. This is far more musical sounding and integrates better into the sound of the music. This is missing a lot of the features the SVS has, but the sound is much better for a two channel.

Very high quality build, rock solid bass, improved entire soundstage. Set up was easy and quick.

Awesome product. I switched from a cheap $150 12″ Sony subwoofer to the T5X – 8″. I’m running it through high frequency into my stereo Marantz reciever. Sound is more musical and is able to be blended into my towers with little to no difficulty and with less power being pushed. Love that it fires down, crossover for LFE & High Freq / built quality. Wish it had a standby mode. Would like to get a second to experience stero bass.

Buy 2 because it will sound more balanced with expensive speakers and cable

Nice matched to my main speaker for music playing. It is easy to setup and move around. I bought a pair!

I added this REL sub to my stereo system. I just purchased a pair of KLH 5’s and even after break in I found them a bit lacking in bass. This REL has provided exactly what I wanted to augment the bass. I do not use it in a home theater but simply in music listening.
GreatGiftIdea –
Great build quality and a very clean look. I purchased this to support a pair of bookshelf speakers in a 2.1 configuration. Excellent sound for listening to music.
