  1. HBCUgrad13

I admit that I was not prepared for the amount of bass the subwoofer produced. This subwoofer is powerful and distinct in its sound. Because of the wireless design and easy setup, integration with my soundbar very seamless. After using this product, I’m unable to go back to a home theater setup without this subwoofer in particular. It would be nice to use this with other devices, but this is a must-have upgrade if you own other compatible Polk Audio product.

  2. TechDude

Connecting wirelessly to the soundbar, this unit provides excellent bass fill in sound.

This is a really great sub. It has nice strong sound, it feels like it has great range (but I admit I’m not the pickiest here) and the setup to the sound bar was a breeze.

Be warned that this is not compatible with just any system so if you don’t have the matching sound bar stay away. If you have the soundbar already, there are no cons in my mind to add the soundbar and take your system up a notch.

  4. Mizshutterbug

Received the Polk React soundbar and subwoofer and I must say you really will love the sound with its addition! It is wireless and I heard no unusual noises or popping once it easily connected. All good with excellent room filling bass response! In my humble opinion a MUST HAVE for your soundbar setup, although the bar sounded fine even without it when I tested it. It only works with the REACT soundbar. Nice slim shape and I recommend the purchase!

In reviewing the soundbar individually is a disservice in my opinion. I did use the sound bar alone, then added the subwoofer, and lastly added the wireless speakers for a full surround sound system. As a single unit, namely the soundbar, you can find better ones out there because you absolutely need a subwoofer, in this case a wireless subwoofer to at least get the bass side of the sounds. I personally have an open floor plan in our house and living room. Because of this, there are no smaller rooms and walls to bounce off. With the further addition of the wireless speakers it absolutely sings. The sounds watching a movie and listening to Spotify is a dream. It is really easy to connect Spotify to this soundbar.

The installation was easy. The soundbar actually comes with both a HDMI and optical cable. Each can easily run twenty dollars per cord but Polk included everything you need here. In case you don’t have an HDMI ARC connection, no problem! There’s the optical connection, which, I think is an awesome connection as well. The soundbar requires you to download Amazon Alexa. In my case on my android device. From there, the soundbar’s settings can be adjusted slightly with the EQ settings there. From there you need to connect the soundbar to your wifi network. The set up here is relatively easy. I say relative because my initial attempt failed even though I have Google Mesh as my network. I just attempted the second time to connect the device through Alexa and it connected pretty smoothly. The onboard EQ settings work pretty well, with the option to adjust the bass and tremble a bit. All in all, the soundbar looks good and sounds ok as a stand alone unitl The integration with Amazon Alexa was seamless and you pretty much use Alexa as your Hub. The Alexa functionality is actually better than my other Alexa enabled speakers. There’s no false triggers, the sound is there and the LED line is pleasing to the eyes. Phone calls are done through the Alexa app as well. This use was clear and I had no issues using this function.
In adding the wireless subwoofer, this made a huge difference on how the movies and music sounds. You can feel and hear it pretty crisp and hits the bass lines just enough but not annoying. Even at full bass. Connecting was simple. You place the wireless subwoofer where you want it, plug it in and then press the pair button on the soundbar first to pair and then on the wireless subwoofer for a few seconds.
Then the final piece I think is essential in this setup is the wireless speakers. The pairing is just like with the wireless subwoofer, you press the button on the soundbar to pair and then go to each speaker to press the button to pair. This method was pretty simple and worked the first time. I got an additional prompt saying that the subwoofer pairing has failed but it was already connected. So you may get that you may not. The sounds from the wireless speakers were simple and did it’s job. You can use the soundbar’s remote to adjust the volume of these speakers in case you have placed them a bit off center to your listening area.
With all three components combined, this is a system that sound fantastic. I have a much more powered system without the wireless speakers but to me the wireless speakers fill in the gap in what is missing in my home theater experience that I longed for. Especially when theaters are not fully opened yet.
Do I recommend this wireless subwoofer? I have to say this is a MUST buy with the soundbar. I am not sure why it is not bundled with the soundbar. Without it, I feel that you are missing some of the great sounds out there.

  6. Woo151

The woofer packs a HUGE punch when paired with a compatible device. I paired this with my React Bar and I can’t tell you how much it just made everything sound so much better. For a Sub, it looks rather nice too.

Box has the Sub itself, power cord and instruction book. Setup was literally the easiest thing ever. I’m not kidding. You push the Pairing button for 3 seconds on the bar and Alexa says ready to pair then you push the Pairing button on the woofer itself for 3 seconds and done. Other than the power cord, it is completely wireless and can be placed literally anywhere. I put mine next to my TV stand.

If you plan on getting the React Sound Bar, I HIGHLY suggest you grab this woofer at the same time.

  7. Bluevue

I was sceptical of a 7 inch sub woofer. I had a 12 inch with my old system. But WOW! This tiny sub floored me. Right out of the box with no burn in time! It really takes the reactive soundbar to a whole new level. Setup couldn’t have been easier. Plug in the power and press the pair button (3 seconds) on the soundbar and then same on the sub and bam, connected! No extra wires to run! Has been perfectly synced so far. Easily control the bass level with the soundbar remote.
    Definitely get this sub!

This Polk React Wireless Subwoofer is a great addition to the Polk React Sound Bar! It provides some very nice bass which of course improves the audio experience and provides greater depth to your content. It is really nice that this is wireless because that allows you plenty of flexibility in choosing where to place it since you don’t have to hard wire it to the sound bar. You do of course have to plug it into power, but other than that, it is completely wireless. Pairing it to the React sound bar was really easy and after that it just worked.

Overall, this subwoofer will definitely enhance your audio experience with Polk React Sound Bar. If you also add the Polk SR2 surround speakers along with this and the sound bar, you will have a very immersive audio system that provides great sound quality and is very easy to set up!

The Polk Audio React Wireless Subwoofer is an easy to setup subwoofer that delivers powerful, high-quality bass!

    Design
The React Wireless Subwoofer is easy to setup an pair. There is light on the back that tells you when it’s paired. It has a solid casing around the sides and the top – without visible places for sound to escape. If you look at the bottom you will see a 7″ speaker facing down and a large hole for bass to escape as well. I uploaded a picture of this for you to see. The design is very effective!

    Sound – Bass
I was actually surprised by how much I liked having the bass of a true subwoofer – as opposed to speakers with “good” bass. I thought it would only be good for action movies with loud explosions or things like that. I was really surprised when I started noticing, even in things like documentaries, there are times where there is lower pitched background music or sound effects and in those situations, the bass is more subtle but it does the same sort of thing as surround sound, bringing you more fully into the scene. The bass just fills the room and makes you feel more engaged with the person talking or the scene in the show/movie, etc. The bass was deep, clear, and solid. So it doesn’t need to be loud and annoying – though it can get loud, but it can be rich, deep, and full, at a low volume that’s pleasant and just adds ambiance. It’s what I was looking for in a sub! The remote included with the React Soundbar has buttons on it for bass up/down which is coinvent too.

  10. blahnika

If you have the polk soundbar, this is a must-have addition. The soundbar does a decent job but the experience with the bass from the sub is what you really want. Since its wireless, you just plug it in and and press sync on the soundbar and sub to get them to sync.

  11. FrankM

Works seamlessly in sync with the Polk React sounder, and separate voice sound control works better than others we’ve tried

  12. Bob2

Sounds great but couldn’t make it work in my configuration with A/V Amp.

  13. Jason

The system is pretty good but just lacks something.

  14. DS1953

The Polk AUDIO subwoofer works well and easy to install.

  15. Roberts

I bought this sub to supplement the react sound bar and two wireless speakers. Bluetooth connection has been reliable and it adds great bass to music and tv.

  16. Willy

The React subwoofer sounds great, clean round bass. It pairs easily with the React Soundbar and the bass volume can be controlled by the Soundbar remote. It also looks very clean and nice. I would also recommend the surround speakers that pair with the React system for a really nice surround system setup. At first I was hesitant, but very glad I decided to upgrade from the S2 (which was also very good for its price).

  17. Rocky

  21. Piffle

The addition of the subwoofer brings movies to life, that I was missing out on. Solid bass. Easy to connect and the voice activation of letting you know when it was connected made is simple and easy.

  22. Alan

Excellent subwoofer very loud and great for enjoying movies!

  23. Superron76

Solid bass. Fills our large living room with full sound. This system with the sound bar and surround satellites is fantastic. And only running power to the surround and sub is a huge bonus. No speaker wires! Easy setup and its Alexa enabled.
