I’ve had this unit for 5 months and my number one problem is that it’s very unresponsive to the touch. Sometimes it disconnects the wireless CarPlay and it has trouble connecting to my Wi-Fi 90% of the time. I would return this product if I could.

This item is everything I had desired: an active GPS map, just like I have on my phone; it plays my favorite music app from the internet and it plays directly to my vehicle’s speaker system. I no longer have to listen to it on my tinny phone speaker. I can also talk on my tele through my vehicle’s speakers. Best of all I can see what’s behind me, whether kids or pedestrians in a shopping mall parking lot, or an on coming car as I’m backing out. All and all, it a great product.

totally worth the upgrade. At first the gps on google maps was off, but it seemed a common bug that was solved just resetting the network settings on my phone.

This headunit is pretty good and has pretty much every function you could want. I have always been a Pioneer fan. Overall it works great. The software is what i have a problem with. The wireless apple carplay cut out sometimes but not to often. My only other complaint its the software is a little laggy. When you hit an icon there is a lag of 1-2 seconds before the unit responds. Which isnt a huge deal but is a little annoying.

This stereo is great! I was worried reading some of the reviews that it was slow, but definitely not the case. It’s very quick and responsive, has an excellent screen, and upgraded the sound in my truck beautifully. CarPlay works great, both wirelessly and wired, no hiccups.

I had BB install this radio and the Pioneer ND-BC8 in my 2007 C6 Corvette. Great match up for an upgrade to my OEM 2007 radio. It fits and looks just like it came from the factory. My only complaint that I have is with the backup screen grid view. I don’t know if it is the radio’s firmware or the Pioneer ND-BC8 that is not allowing the back up grid lines to stay on each time in back up mode. I can manually touch the screen’s line icon and make the grid lines come on, but those only stay on until I shift. Once I put it back in reverse, the lines are again missing until I press line icon. It seems that the viewing back up screen by default will not keep my choice to have the parking grid lines showing without me manually choosing them each time I put the car in reverse. Other than this issue, the total install, radio and camera are great.

The reverse camera only works 10% of the time when I start the car, most of the time it just shows a black screen. Ive replaced basically every part of the camera system and it still doesn’t work. I also have a front camera mounted and that seems to always work fine. I emailed Pioneer a few times while I was still in my 12 month warranty window and they never replied so now im just stuck with an expensive head unit that shows me a black screen when I reverse 90% of the time

Great unit, I have had it in my car for 6 months now. The only draw back is the its advertised as being able to screen share wirelessly and I have not had any luck being able to do so. Other the than the screen is clear and touch functions are nice. and the wireless android auto connects with ease.

I want to like this very expensive wireless CarPlay receiver more, especially given the price, but it has been a bit of a headache to use sometimes. When it’s actively being used for CarPlay, it’s quite nice — the screen is pretty good and relying on the CarPlay interface works fine.
Otherwise, it’s pretty clunky. The built in interface is laggy and when you press the screen, it takes about a second for it to react. Something as simple as adjusting the volume can be strange because when you tap the screen to adjust it, the beep and change of volume doesn’t happen instantaneously.
My biggest gripe, is when connecting to wireless CarPlay, it doesn’t automatically launch CarPlay. You have to press the show apps button then the launch CarPlay button every time you hop in the car. There is no setting and this is confirmed by many other owners of this in different forums. Three firmware updates since purchase have not resolved this problem. (Also wireless firmware update always fails — only USB update works.)
I give two stars because Pioneer does not provide any support and refuses to fix this issue.

I was hesitant to buy this after looking at the negative reviews. But all those reviews were old and posted when this radio was first released. Mine was manufactured June 2023 and it came with relatively new firmware on it but I decided to update it anyways so now it’s been a month and I haven’t had any issues with it freezing or tuning off. Wireless CarPlay has been great on my iPhone 15 pro

so many issues trying to get this thing setup. I spent hours trying to get android auto wireless to work correctly, One issue I am just guessing I have to live with is my Galaxy s10 I cannot do bt audio if Android Auto wireless is setup. I have tried about everything and I cannot get that to work. Lets talk about the lack of clear instructions I have been installing my own car stereos since 1986 and have never scene an new unit with no wiring schematic(most older units even would have this on the unit it’self) but on all the paperwork I received and online I could never find it and just ended up having to guess. It sounds good but I have no idea how many hours I spent trying to get android auto wireless working.

I bought this for my son’s first car. Now I want one. It does so many things and way better than my factory one. We had Best Buy to install which is worth it. I usually do not like aftermarket stereos. I feel they look cheap, however, after this one my mind has changed. We did the pioneer backup cam and it was great as well.

For the most part, it’s great. I love it. Very convenient. Automatically connected everytime. However the load up screen is irritating and takes too long in my opinion. The biggest con is randomly every once in a while, it acts like it doesn’t recognize my phone and I have to reset the connection settings. It’s not the phone because I’ve upgraded iPhones since I’ve gotten this and even on my new phone, it still doesn’t recognize it sometimes

This was the biggest and most expensive mistake of the year. This radio randomly stops working. It took forever to finally recognize CarPlay and randomly disconnects when wireless. The touch screen is horrible and barely responsive. The balance no longer works only the front speakers. The settings are insufferable. Updating the firmware requires a technician. I have mine connected to the steering controls and that’s hit or miss. Sadly I have a slew of complaints.

This is a much needed upgrade from what my 2017 Nissan Rogue had in it. Android Play is amazing and I don’t think I’ll go without ever again. Sound is clear, interface is easy and overall a huge improvement. My only complaint is that the system comes with its own microphone and I wish it could have used whatever was already in my car. I’ve been told the road noise is very loud which annoys me since that’s an obvious downgrade.

This headunit has been amazing. The sound quality is far superior to the factory unit. Combined with the idatalink Maestro i have all the original features such as heated seats and steering wheel. My only complaint is that it only has one usb port on the back. Overall this unit is amazing and would highly reccommend.
