  3. MetalDetectingMichigan

The Peak Design Travel Tripod is an outstanding unit, unfortunately the one I received after ordering on the Best Buy website was not. After spending big $$ on this unit the one I received was either an open box or a return. The ball head was all scratched up and the tripod did not come with a quick release mounting plate. I was very disappointed and returned the unit.

  4. jvdevers

Purchased for my grandson for his use – he absolutely loves this item

  5. Eduardo

Performs quite well, as long as you keep the weight under 20 lbs in not too-windy conditions. Enough to withstand a DSLR and a 300 mm lens.

  6. TommyB

This tripod works great for traveling looks good steady lightweight to carry around or put in your camera bag.

  7. Panotaker

Hands down, the best photo tripod I ever had. Light as a feather, easy to setup, and as big around as a water bottle.

  8. Kyle

It’s made of carbon, so it’s very light and strong. Very satisfied.

  9. M16ASUS

BEST TRIPOD YOU CAN GET. Light, sturdy. And if you are in the Peak Design Ecosystem, its a no brainer. The Carbon Fiber is expensive, but worth it for travel photography

  10. Jay9

This is perfect and light weight for travel. I clip it to the side eif my bag and it’s good to go. I wish it was cheaper.

  11. Simple

Best on market to portablity but pricy and good portablity

  12. rwang

Amazing tripod that is lightweight, compact and well designed. However, the price to pay to shave off that last few ounces/inches is pretty steep.

  13. Keller

Great tripod. Super light, super strong. There are cheaper but none better.

  14. LouF

Light weight travel tripod. With proper care, this one should last for years. So far, it’s been perfect in all conditions. Packs down small and is easily stow-able. Sets up in less than a minute too.

  15. Gilbertsreviews

This is a tripod I actually love taking with me everywhere I go. I actually thought it would be much lighter being a carbon fiber but it’s quite heavy I had a cheap Amazon aluminum that felt much lighter than this one however I love this tripod for its size and portability the weight don’t bother me too much this tripod is very pricey but I think it’s a good investment for the on the go people

  16. Aaron

A serious tripod for the serious photographer. I went with the carbon fiber material over the aluminum, as I will be taking lots of lengthy exposure photography and want to limit the vibrations best I can. This is an expensive piece of gear, but may be worth it if you plan to take photographs requiring limited vibrations. This tripod is extremely compact and fits on the side pockets of most backpacks. It unfolds in a matter of seconds and within a minute you are ready to compose your shot.

  17. bbsocrates

Excellent travel tripod. Folds crazy small. Nice support when set up. Very fast to set. Best in class for what it is

  18. SwitchOwner

Very pricey but well worth it! I can pack this any where I go knowing it will travel

  19. Luck

Still the best travel tripod I feel, compact and good quality, life long warranty!

  20. 257larry

Home run product for travel photography from Peak Design. Easy to use and travel with.

  21. Unknown

Lightweight, very compact and easy to set up. I really love it! It fits in my regular backpack and doesn’t stick out at all. Also the case it comes with keeps it neatly closed until you need to use it. My previous tripod was super inconvenient because half of it would stick out of my backpack and would hurt me and/or others while I was carrying it around.

  22. SigmaJeep

Hands down one of the best tripods I’ve ever used. My only gripe is I wish they could come up with a fluid head for this thing. Other than that I love it.

  23. Jay1

Awesome, lightweight, feature packed tripod for on the go. Wish I had bought it sooner!

  24. nilu

Tripod is awesome. Definitely portable for the size and strength I need to hold my full frame camera. Love everything about it: The built in phone holder; able to rotate the camera to portrait mode or different angles and feel confident that the tripod will hold it; and the ability to mount the camera “upside down” or really low to get those low or up-angle shots. The size when collapsed is perfect for carrying it around as compared to other “full size” equivalents. I can stick it in my water bottle pocket on my backpack. If you are concerned about weight (and that is your top priority), then you’ll may want to pony up for the carbon fiber model. You definitely feel the weight difference when you carry both models. Although for me, I don’t really mind the weight as I am used to carrying heavy loads when going out. I was ok with dealing with the “heavier” (aluminum) version as I did not want to spend more $$ on the carbon fiber. But, if you got money to burn, I say go for the lighter carbon fiber model. Lighter is always better, but for those that don’t really care about weight as much, save your money and get the aluminum model. Cant go wrong with the Peak Design tripods.

  25. Serdarius

This is the best tripod I ever own only down side is bit expensive 🙂

  26. Oleg

Amazing tripod, I can’t see myself using anything different, great build quality, easy to use, easy to mount, portable design and relatively light weigh – extremely highly recommend it

  27. Stephen

I had a lot of people tell me this isn’t going to hold up for pro use. If youre expecting to use a heavy system on this, I suppose its not for you but other than that… this tripod has been a new favorite of mine. Built better than it looks online. everything that I thought was cheap/plastic looking online turned out to be metal. One of my favorite tools added to my gear has been this tripod.

  28. Thedroneprincess

Best budget tripod!!! Easy to use, light weight enough, sturdy, and holds up well

  29. SontheScurvy

Great tripod, high quality, super light weight carbon fiber

  30. TTVu

Love this compact and light tripod. This probably the last one I will need.

  31. Anonymous

Can be setup really quickly, its incredibly light, and very sturdy. I would recommend this tripod to anyone, if you can take the price.

  32. Randy

Excellent travel tripod, super light, super small but still comes up high enough for me to use (I’m 6’0″), and super stable.

  33. JaymanT

Beautiful, light, compact little travel tri. Perfect for my needs

  34. Marge

Very light weight with ability to handle 20 lbs of gear. Easily fits into my backpack.

  35. Qwerty777

Excellent, sturdy and lightweight, best engineered tripod.

  36. Nan2345

This is the light and strong camera tripods. Using it to travel shots.

  37. RobG

Superb engineering. Get the aluminnum if price sensitive – still an outstanding tripod – but the carbon fiber is beautiful, and a bit lighter. Amazing compact design but still great usability. My favorite tripod of all time. More details in the descriptions in the product specs and other reviews. Recommend getting a second standard mounting plate for other cameras if you use more than one or just as a spare. Only inconvenience is having to use hex wrench to mount plate to camera but hex wrench conveniently stores on tripod. If you order another mounting plate it will come with its own hex wrench. Also cconsider Peak Design unique belt clip mount. I use.this when hiking.

  38. GeorgeRunsLA

Perfect for travel. Light weight & Durable I Have Both Versions

  39. Mohammed

Excellent tripod. Best I’ve ever owned! It goes great with all my other peak design accessories

  40. KaneiPhotography

Honestly impressed with this tripod. The engineering that went into this device is amazing. Could not be more satisfied with this!

  41. Ryzone

Great travel tripod, not cheap by any means but you get what you pay for! The carbon fiber looks insane light weight but sturdy. The ball head is also sleek and super good

  42. CryptoMiner

Good tripod, better than the Ulanzi. The tripod has a wider spread and doesnt slip as much as a competitor Ulanzi. It’s also more compact but a little heavier. The build is solid.

  43. BryanW

Works great, lightweight pays off on long days of shooting

  44. Karteek

Amazing tripod!! This saved me a lot of space and pretty handy while traveling. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

  45. Mike

Tripod is a great height, very sturdy, and noce and light. I recently took on trip to North Geogia and it did great.

  46. VivekP

Great tripod got for a great price. Amazing build quality

  47. Jamie

Amazingly compact tripod that is sturdy when set up.

For context I have a $20 aluminum tripod which is flimsier and bulkier. It serves a purpose and for the price that $20 tripod is a much better value.

But when I travel or want to casually take a tripod with me for long exposures or group photos that I want to be in, nothing beats the compactness and stability of the PD travel tripod. I also use a capture clip on my camera so connecting/disconnecting it to the tripod is a breeze.

Highly recommended for travel and ease of carrying along.

Only negatives I’ve found is that the bubble level is not visible when the camera is connected so the tripod needs to be leveled before adding the camera. Not a big deal but I needed to adjust my workflow.

  48. Amchatte

Expensive but a well designed product. This one was really thought through and it’s all about convenience and portability. The fact that this folds down to such a small space and it literally can fit into a water bottle holder on any reasonable size bag. Makes it invaluable. Has a lot of other little perks such as built in cell phone holder. Even the hook to add a weight for balancing is designed into the tripod with no additional parts necessary. Overall really impressed and carbon fiber is icing on the cake with such a low weight adding to the portability.

  49. NoamShlongsky

Easily the best in the industry! Take it everywhere I go.

  50. zaecampos

Strong and great quality. Very portable. I use with video camera
