This Panasonic KX-TGF829B land-line phone is a great unit. I replaced an older Panasonic phone I had for 15-20 years. The old remote unit displays were starting to fail, so it was time to upgrade. I was pleasantly surprised this new Panasonic KX-TGF phone mounted in the same locations as the old phone. Great planning on Panasonic’s part. This phone is much better and easier to setup. I’m going to purchased the expandable cordless remote handhelds.

Though most households no longer have a landline (over 70% use a mobile phone only), those that do sometimes need a new phone. And if you’re one of them, the Panasonic KX-TGF892B is an excellent choice. It’s easy to set up, simple to use, and has excellent features for today’s needs.
First, the setup is quick. Plug in the power and telephone line, enter the correct date/time and you’re ready to start talking. Only a toaster would be easier. Note: set up the base first, then the cordless handsets. The handsets automatically look for and register themselves to the base.
From there, you can add up to 100 names in the phonebook. Contacts can be assigned into one of two groups, say for family versus friends. That makes it easier to retrieve contacts without having to go through the entire list. You can even assign each group a different ringtone (I wish Panasonic allowed a silent ringtone for one of the groups; that way it only rings if a family member is calling, for example).
The outstanding feature of this phone is its ability to tackle spam calls. The phone offers many ways to do this:
– Block specific phone numbers
– Block a range of phone numbers
– Block calls that are anonymous or don’t show their number
If that’s not enough, you can use the Automated Call Block feature which is basically a way of whitelisting which calls get through. With this feature, anyone in your phonebook can call you as usual. But if a call comes from someone who isn’t in your phonebook, they are prompted for an access code (from 1 to 3 digits). Upon entering the correct access code, their number is stored in an allowed caller list (100 entries max) so they don’t have to enter it next time. Otherwise they are automatically blocked. One caveat is there are likely to be calls you want to pick up but don’t know their number: repair shops, doctors, banks, community and utility messages, etc… Many of these are automated calls so you’re likely to miss a few until you move them from the blocked to the allowed list.
Another nice feature is the ability to record calls. If you’re in a situation when that would be handy, just press the Record button on the base or the appropriate menu item on the handset. The unit announces to both parties that it’s recording the call.
And among the many other features, the other useful one is the ability to pair an external headset or speaker via Bluetooth. The box comes with an ad insert for Bluetooth earbuds. The insert shows some beautiful people joyfully talking through their earbuds while doing everyday household activities. Now you can be one of those happy folks as well.
In all seriousness, this is a solid telephone set if you’re in the market.

For the 12 of us that still have a landline, this is a great little setup to ensure you’re always within reach of your phone.
I have a VoIP line that I actually still use today. Usually, I have just one handset that is located in my living room since that’s usually where I spend most of my time. It’s fine but would be nice to have additional units/handsets to place around my house.
Like most people today, I’m working remotely so the need for the occasional call, i.e. an actual phone call, is more commonplace than it was a couple years ago. However, since I’m an IT contractor, I don’t usually give out my cell number which is why I have my landline. But having just the one handset can be sometimes irritating since it’s sort of inconveniently placed since my office is a bit aways from my living room.
With this handset setup, there is no longer an issue now with accessibility of my phone. I have the handset setup at my office desk. Kind of gives me that “in office” feeling even though I’m at home. The handsets are now in my living room and bedroom.
Sound quality is great and haven’t had any issues with that. Usually any DECT 6.0 handset will have clear audio from my experiences and this one is no different. I like the big buttons on both the handset and base station. Very easy to read and press. The included answering machine is also a nice bonus so now I can finally ditch my OG microcassette answering machine….yeah, I still have one of those. All this is digital now so yay! With the handsets, there is a button dedicated button to pair any sort of bluetooth headphones/headset which is a great little feature. I used to have corded headsets for my old phone but now I can use my bluetooth headset when on a call now.
Everything about this is pretty straightforward from setup to operation. Nothing really too technical here so no worries about that. It’s just your typical handset phone system with lots of great bonuses and features.

It my opinion Panasonic, makes the best home phone systems. And this Corded and Cordless TGF892B from Panasonic is no exception. This system replaces a cordless Panasonic system I’ve had in my home now for well over 5 years. It was still working well, but this new system offers advantages the previous system doesn’t and as usual, it’s simply great.
It comes well packaged and includes a desk corded phone, two cordless phones, rechargeable batteries for the cordless phones, their charging bases and every cable you need to quickly and easily put the system in place. I didn’t even need to refer to the quick guide or larger, more thorough Operating Instructions book supplied in the box. It’s almost impossible to mess up this up.
The corded phone is the base station, which the cordless phones get their signals from. And the corded base station lets you program all the features you need, such as:
Advanced Call Blocking
Time and Date
Digital Answering Machine
Bilingual Talking Caller ID
Phone Book
Caller ID (requires additional service through your phone company)
I particularly like that you can pair up to 4 sets of Bluetooth Headphones to the system and I easily paired a set of Jabra Elite 85t and Momentum True Wireless 3 earbuds. All you need to do is put them in pairing mode and use any of the handsets to pair them using the Settings Menu. Once paired, you start a call on the handset, turn on the paired headphones and the call will transfer over to the Bluetooth headphones.
The corded base station has a large 1.6″ LCD screen and the cordless handsets have a easily to read screen as well. The system uses DECT 6.0 technology. DECT stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications and 6.0 is the newest standard. Having made a number of calls all around my home, the system provides a level of clarity my previous system simply can’t match.
It took about 7 hours for the cordless phones to fully charge, but once fully charged, Panasonic claims up to 10 hours of talk time (in eco mode). You also get audible alerts and visual notifications that the phones need to be recharged. The handsets also do double duty as a baby monitor, by placing a handset in the baby’s room, which you can monitor from other rooms in your home.
Our home is 2100 square feet and we have free range in every corner of our home! NICE! The system is also expandable if the corded and two cordless phones don’t meet your needs. You can use up to 6 handsets with this system.
As you can tell, I’m totally enamored with this phone system from Panasonic. If past history predicts the future, it will work reliably and last longer than most other systems you could buy. And that’s what we all hope for in a phone system. Great service. Great features. And great durability. Yes, it is!

I am one of the few folks on this earth that still owns a landline. Yes a land line.
We still own one because my mother in law lives with us and she still uses it.
Anyway…..
We own a Super Old Panasonic wireless handset system and it was starting to die so getting this system was great timing. The previous ones lasted for many years.
Back to this set.
Setup was super easy. The base unit has large buttons so this is great for when you have older folks. Easier to see and use.
I paired this with a wireless JLab headset and it worked fine…. Super easy to use the controls for talk, dial, speaker, volume etc….
Range is good. It covers a 2000 plus sq ft house easily.
Caller id display is nice. Talking caller id helps screen spam calls.
This thing has a BLOCK call button…. New for land line phone. We used it when a telemarketer called and it felts so gratifying to do that.
Color is nice. This one is black. Has modern look and nice matte finish.
Another fine landline phone. Good job Panasonic. I would recommend this product.

These are replacing another version of these phones. I think this is the fourth or fifth Panasonic set I’ve had in a row since they just work and never are a problem for me. The handsets are identical looking other than the color. I didn’t replace the ones I’d been using because of any issues, but rather because this one allowed for more blocked numbers to be added to it and had more options for the robocall issue. Since the only number I ever give out for things online is my “home phone” number, so I don’t get spam on my cell phone, I have a tendency to get random robocalls.
The base unit is quite a step up from the version I am replacing, since my old one didn’t have a display as this one does. The large base unit phone is a good looking unit, but the glossy finish would surely make this a fingerprint magnet if it’s used. In my situation, the main phone is never touched, it sits in the bedroom where the phone line from my Ooma product comes upstairs. I only use the cordless handsets. The display is bright and has a large, easy to read display. You can also adjust the angle, so it sits flat, or can tilt up, depending on how you position the phone. The previous base unit I had used a cordless unit, so that’s a step down in this case, since this is the standard corded phone piece. Which means that my original plan of using just a single cordless handset will not work. I’m going to have to set up the second cordless one in the bedroom right next to the base unit, since I have no desire to step backwards and be tied to the immediate area of my dresser if I take a call in the bedroom, limited to the length of the phone cord.
The screens on the cordless units are easy to read, and the buttons have large numbers so are easy to read. The display can show whether you have a message on your system, or even if you’re like me using VOIP, and have a message in the cloud. Caller ID works fine. I don’t bother using the address books in these, since I use my cell to place all my calls. As I said earlier, the home phone is just to have a working number to give things online when I have to.
Speakers and microphones on the cordless handsets are outstanding. I can hear people clearly, and they can hear me fine. Speakerphone on this actually works better for people I’m talking to than my iPhone 13 Pro Max, they say it’s a clearer sound when I am using this.
Comes with rechargeable batteries, and I like that they’re simply little AAA batteries, two each, and not some proprietary battery type as some use. That means when they need to be replaced it’s easy and cheap to do so yourself, you’re not tied to a single type that won’t be easy to grab locally.
I was able to pair a headset to it without any issue, but I undid it after verifying it worked since I don’t use a home phone enough to warrant having some bluetooth device charged and standing by.
The anti-spam call options are also considerable. There are options here to pretty much completely negate robocalls altogether, although depending on what you use your home phone for, you may miss some notifications you actually need.
I’ve got no issues walking anywhere in my house, main floor or basement, and having a strong signal and hearing things clearly. One reason I’ve only had Panasonic phones for so long, they’re always the clearest sounding ones I’ve used with the best signal.
From an aesthetics standpoint, I’m also pleased to lose the white phones I had and go back to black ones, since the white ones stood out like sore thumb everywhere that I have only black or very dark brown furniture. These look great along the rest of my technology again.
Bases for the cordless handsets have a nice length to the power cables, and I like that the power cables no longer have the canon plugs on the end that plugs into the base. They’re hardwired, which means that moving the base around doesn’t sometimes have the plug end up being pulled out. That can be VERY inconvenient when it falls behind furniture and there’s no way to reach behind it easily.
Full featured, great sound, well-constructed. There is nothing here I don’t like other than that corded phone on the base. And since I can just put a cordless one there instead for my own convenience, I’m still fine.

Most people nowadays really don’t use landline phones anymore, but I still have a landline phone mainly for my business at home. I had a phone that I used for about 12 years now, and didn’t really think about replacing it until like the last three or four months. Panasonic is always had really good products in a pass, and I figured it would be great to give them a shot and see how they were with the home phone. I gotta say though, if you have a landline this is the phone to get! For starters, I really like the fact that it comes with two cordless phones! My previous phone only have one cordless phone, and I will always take it into the kitchen with me and forget to put it back when finished. No I can have one cordless phone in the kitchen and one in my bedroom, and not have to worry about ever forgetting it again! And one of my favorite things about this phone is the clarity when using speakerphone! I can literally hear them Crystal clear, and I don’t get any complaints on their end either! I’m also glad that, the batteries are rechargeable and AA batteries! My all-time favorite part of this phone, is how it blocks all of the spam calls I get on a daily basis! I have 1 million spam calls a day that really makes me mad. When my phone starts ringing, and I run to go and answer it, just to see that it’s a spam call. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna find out way more stuff when I use the phone a little bit more, but I’m loving everything I’ve gotten up until this point! If you are in search of a landline phone, this is definitely worth every penny!

I know dedicated POTS type home phone lines are quickly becoming relics of the past for a lot of people, but I’m old school and must have a dedicated landline. I can’t stand making lengthy phone calls on uncomfortable smart phones. The Panasonic KX-TGF892B DECT 6.0 phone system is a worthy successor to the similar Panasonic phone system we were using in our household. I’m a long time Panasonic phone user. It is the only brand of home phone we’ve used for the past decade plus, and for good reason. For us, Panasonic phones typically have the best sound quality, most features, and most bang for the buck. The KX-TGF892B continues this trend by providing numerous useful features like digital display with caller ID, dedicated base station with integrated answering system, expandable handsets, internal phone book, backlit keys and display, phone service voicemail access, Bluetooth headset compatibility, and anti-spam tools that interestingly include a call-screening feature. I will admit, that last one has quickly become my favorite feature. When a suspected spam call comes in, I click the “Tele-Block” button that appears on screen. The phone then self answers and a robotic voice says “please say your name”. The phone then pauses for several seconds to allow the caller to state their name and see if I want to take the call. If I want to refuse the call, I simply do nothing and after a few seconds, the voice says “Your call will be disconnected now” and hangs up. The first time I used it on a spam caller felt so awesome and empowering. Listening to the spam caller repeatedly saying “hello” in total confusion before being summarily dismissed by the phone made my day. We were previously so inundated with spam calls, that we kept our house phone on permanent do not disturb mode. Even then, all of the spam calls ended up going to voicemail and many left useless robocall messages. The spam tools on this phone allows us to finally use our house phone again and quit being held hostage by spam callers. It also makes deleting tons of spam voicemails and hang ups a thing of the past. For pesky known callers who don’t disguise themselves behind spoofed VOIP numbers, the system also has a call block feature. When this feature is active and a number added to the list, the phone doesn’t ring if the blocked caller calls. Besides sporting robust anti-spam features, the KX-TGF892B is more ergonomic and comfortable to use than a typical smartphone. The base station has an integrated answering machine, large easy to read buttons, and a large bright LCD screen. It can either be wall mounted or rest on a desk/tabletop. The system ships with two cordless handsets and can expand to accommodate four additional handsets if needed. As I briefly mentioned above, up to four Bluetooth devices can also be added. Bluetooth seems to only work with Bluetooth headsets however. I tried pairing my iPhone and iPad Pro but neither could not find the phone when scanning in Bluetooth settings. On the flip side, my Sony headset paired instantly on the first attempt.
Sound quality is great. Voices on the other end are loud and clear with no distortion. The volume has a nice range and voices remain clear at both low and loud volume levels. Battery life is impressive. We get 3-4 days of standby between charges with light phone use. The keypads and screens are backlit for easy low light viewing. One small change that I don’t like from prior models is the elimination of a dedicated speakerphone button. Unlike our last phone, this model integrates the speaker phone button into the main talk button. The button is more of a personal preference rather than a con. Overall, the KX-TGF892B more than satisfies our home phone needs. A fully functional phone base station and two cordless handsets are more than sufficient. Our last Panasonic phone had three cordless handsets but only had a charging base station with an answering system. It had no stand-alone phone capability in the base other than a ringer. We really can’t think of anything else we’d need. Maybe making the system compatible with Bluetooth phones and tablets would be the only suggestion we’d have, but otherwise it is a fantastic phone system.

I needed to replace my very old home office telephone/answering machine. This Panasonic unit ticked all of the boxes of what I was looking for. It has a wired base unit with an answering machine and two wireless remote phones. The system was very easy to setup and configure. In fact, I was finished in less than an hour from when I unplugged my old phone. The only time consuming part was programming the stored numbers from my old phone and recording the greeting on my new phone.
This Panasonic model has all of the typical features that most telephone answering machines have; speaker phone, caller ID, intercom, call transfer, call block, call back, etc. and they worked as I expected without problems. This phone has numbers/buttons that are easy to press and the screens are bright and clear to read. More importantly, the sound quality is very good from both the wired base and the wireless remote phones. In the past, I have had hearing problems with the remotes on some off-brands. But, the remotes on this Panasonic model the sound was very clear. So far, I haven’t had any complaints from callers that they couldn’t understand me and I didn’t have any problems understanding them. Which, for me, this is the most important item I look for with a phone system.
One feature that this phone system has, that my previous phone did not, is that you can pair Bluetooth earphones or headphones to a remote phone. I successfully paired 2 different devices; SoundCore Earbuds and Polycom Headphones. They both paired easily and once they were both paired, I could switch anytime between the 2 different devices. This feature has come in real handy, because I work from home and use my laptop. So, when a call comes in or I need to place a call, I can quickly answer the call with my earbuds/headphones and continue working on my laptop.
The box included easy to use and understand instructions. (I mention this specifically, because so many manufacturers aren’t doing that and you have to look it up on the Internet.) The answering machine worked well too. It has 17 minutes of recording time and will hold up to 64 messages. I wished that it had more recording time, because I sometimes get lengthy messages. But, overall this telephone/answering machine works very well and is easy to use.

The Panasonic KX-TGF892 is a solid classic-style phone system, upgraded with Bluetooth audio capabilities, it is suitable for home use, and even for small business purposes. It has all the expected functions of a Panasonic phone, such as voice message, caller ID, contact list, among others, plus other enhanced features such as super audio, to name one.
We always liked to have our home phone, a VoIP one in these current times, separated from our cell phones, and attached to it, a classic phone system. The last system we owned, a Panasonic cordless one, had been in use for nearly 10 years when we decided to replace it with this newer Panasonic one. We are more than satisfied with this new set, it has been working as expected and we got a chance to try some of the new features which come in handy (after getting used to them of course). For all the characteristics, limited or not, it has, I’d give it a 5 rating.
> Setup < No mysteries here, but it is always a good idea to inspect the Operation Instructions booklet that comes with the system to clarify any doubts. One surprise was that you can set it up in one of two languages, English or Spanish, which is one extra reason to recommend this phone system to my extended family. You just need to connect the main corded headset to your phone line, set it up with the date and time, and that’s it. No extra setup on the cordless handsets, beyond inserting the rechargeable batteries (there is emphasis on making sure you use the rechargeable batteries that are part of the package), charging the headsets if needed, and then they are ready to be used. You can make more customizations later on; for example, changing the names of the headsets. > Around the house < I have the corded handset (main one) in the living room on the bottom floor, one cordless handset in the Kitchen area (my wife’s requirement at all times) and then the other cordless handset in my personal office on the second floor. Call quality is great in all those areas, the audio feels way improved when compared to my old phone system (perhaps the old system was good, and I didn’t notice the change in audio quality throughout the years.) I can intercom with the other handsets just fine, and I guess I am old school, but I prefer using the intercom when communicating with the bottom floor as opposed to resorting to a text message, or cell phone call, or shouting (which we would routinely do). > Bluetooth < This unit can be paired with one or more Bluetooth headset/headphones, freeing you from pressing the handset against your ear or having it on speaker, and it comes in handy if you are already wearing the headphones/headset you want to use to make/receive phone calls. After configuring your Bluetooth device, you can enjoy a somewhat hands-free experience. To answer a call, you can do one of these: - First press “Talk” to answer and next press “Pair” to connect to the Bluetooth device. - Directly press “Pair” key and you’ll answer the call connected to the Bluetooth headphones. - If the headphones are already connected, then you can use the answer functionality on the headphones (provided your headphones allow it). To make a call: - Press “Talk” and then press “Pair”. Hitting “Pair” directly while the line not in use or when not answering, will allow to add more Bluetooth devices, selecting “Add new device”. More details about this can be found in the Operation Instructions booklet that comes in the package. Now, my main headphones (the ones I like the most) don’t allow answering a phone call, so, I was initially not a fan of needing to have the handset in close proximity to be able to answer the calls and use my headphones. After a few days of use, though, I don’t mind using the handset to answer/make a call and connect to my headphones.

This phone was easy to set up. It comes with the base unit, which is just like a normal landline desk phone/answering machine, and 2 remote handsets. The remote handsets use 2 AAA size rechargeable batteries each, which are included. The handsets are pre-paired with the base unit, so once you put the batteries in them, all that needs to be done is place them and plug in the cradle chargers.
These phones have lots of features, some of which I have used and others that I haven’t. My favorite feature, and the reason I got this phone, is call blocking. You do have to have caller ID on your landline to utilize this feature. It has several ways that calls can be blocked. You can turn on auto call blocking, or input numbers you want blocked, or block a call during ringing or after answering (by just pressing the Block Call button) or missed calls from the log. The auto block feature is supposed to block calls identified as robocalls or telemarketing calls, but I haven’t used that feature because I’m afraid it might block an automated pharmacy or medical appointment call. I just manually block calls that I don’t want and that has been working fine for me.
The handsets can be paired with Bluetooth headphones for hands free calling. It was easy to pair my headphones and take a call, which came in loud and clear. However, it does have a somewhat limited range as when I left the room that had the paired handset, my headphones lost the connection. They did reconnect immediately when I re-entered the room with the paired handset. The user manual says best performance is within 3 meters (10 ft) and up to 10 meters (33 ft) line of sight.
The answering machine function allows for using a prerecorded message or recording your own. You can also 2-way record calls, place calls on Hold and Mute and use speakerphone. Another feature is Answer By Voice Command. When this feature is turned on, Talking Caller ID is also activated so you can hear who is calling before you answer the call.
There is also a Baby Monitor feature which is pretty cool. You can place one handset in a room you want monitored and when sound is detected it calls the other handset or base unit or other stored phone number, however you direct it.
Other features include an Alarm clock that can be set for 3 separate alarms on each handset for either one-time, daily, or weekly alarms; and a Silent Mode that allows for selecting a period of time during which the handset and/or base unit will not ring for outside calls- great for sleeping.
All features can be turned on or off either through the base or handsets or both, depending on the feature. The User Manual walks you through the process for enabling or disabling each feature.
Overall, this phone is like a jack-of-all-trades. I can’t think of anything I would want on a phone that it doesn’t have. And the build quality of the base and handsets seems pretty good too, they look and feel pretty durable, made of a heavy plastic type material.

I know not too many people use landlines these days but I can’t imagine not having one. Of course, we use our cell phone a lot but I still depend on my landlord and we use it regularly. I’ve been looking to replace our landline with one that also offers cordless handsets. With our growing family, figured it’s more convenient to have one landline phone with additional handsets rather than several landline phones so that we can keep one on all 3 floors. This one comes with the base landline with a corded phone, and an answering machine, with 2 handsets. The instruction booklets say that its expandable and you can purchase additional handsets.
This was so simple to set up and I got it working within minutes. The handsets come with rechargeable batteries that you install and then place the handset in their accompanying chargers and plug them in. For the base phone, I just connect it to the jack and plug it in, set the date and time, record a greeting for the voicemail and it was ready to use. A nice feature is the 2 handsets come prepared to work with the base so no need to set that up.
The caller id in clear, large and easy to see, and it also says out loud who is calling in case you aren’t near it to see it. I love that it offers an intercom so that I reach others on another floor. It’s a good quality phone that offers speakerphone on the base and the handsets. I love the auto robo call block feature. It is really nice! You can also use this with bluetooth headphones, another nice feature that landlines don’t usually offer. Another plus is that if you are on a call, you can transfer it and even do a conference with another handset. You can also store 100 phone numbers you use regularly in the phonebook feature. You can also put your most common 9 phone numbers on speed dial. Definitely would recommend.

This Panasonic Telephone System replaces a very old Uniden cordless + digital answering machine that I’ve had since college. This Panasonic system was a great choice because the Uniden’s battery couldn’t hold much of a charge.
I tested this first with my own local phone service. Everything works great. CallerID is nice and large when it comes through the main desktop phone. I was even able to hit the call block button a couple times which dumps the call and adds it to the block number call list. The Call Block features are most welcome. These days the telemarketer calls are getting tricky and numerous. It’s satisfying to dump a call on a telemarketer.
I took the set to a friend’s house that has Google Voice service through an ObiTalk VOIP adapter. It works there too, but my friend’s service doesn’t include CallerID therefore the Call Block function doesn’t work.
The Panasonic base station with corded handset makes and receives phone calls with ease. Speakerphone works great and is decently loud. Keypad buttons are plenty large for me. The set comes with two cordless handsets with individual chargers. Each of the cordless handsets need to be placed within range of the base station. But I didn’t find any places in my house that couldn’t be used.
The wireless handsets allow you to connect to Bluetooth headphones. This is Bluetooth connection is only for headphones and not for connecting your handset to be used as a Bluetooth headphone for something like your cell phone. For that kind of functionality, you need a device that supports Link2Cell.
The Bluetooth connection is helpful when you get tired of handling the handset and don’t want to use the speakerphone available on all the handsets. It’s not something I would use, but I like to know it’s there. It can be paired with up to 4 devices. It doesn’t automatically use the Bluetooth connection when you first receive a call, instead during mid-call, you need to hit the Bluetooth button on the bottom left of the keypad and select your Bluetooth device. Once connected it works well.
One of the things that I like is that each of the wireless handsets uses AAA style batteries. It comes with rechargeable batteries for the wireless handsets. The Base can also accept AAA style batteries, but it is only for battery backup and should not be used exclusively. But the AAA style batteries means that I’m not tied to some proprietary battery that I can’t find after so many years.
The phone system also includes a digital answering machine and I’m glad it’s available. I have left the answering machine on the default settings. The system also can operate as an intercom system or a baby monitor. Aside from trying it out, I don’t think I will use them regularly.
I’m very impressed with this phone system. It has all the features that I expect nowadays from a landline phone. The Call Block Features are numerous and very much welcome addition. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this phone system to anyone with a landline.

This set comes with an answering system/base phone and two cordless phones with charging bases. The base phone is corded and adds a bit of nostalgia to the old corded phones of the past. The answering system can record up to 17 minutes and you can add your own greeting or choose the prerecorded one. The cordless phones are lightweight and have a 1.5 inch screen and the battery lasts up to 10 hours of talk time before needing a charge.
The base has a speaker phone button for hands free talking. You can punch in the number and hit SP-Phone or vice versa. You can also hit this button to answer a call and be hands free while talking. The base also has 2-way recording. I like this feature because as soon as you activate it, it states “start recording” and can deter an unwanted caller from talking to you.
The handsets unfortunately do not have a speaker phone. You can, however, Bluetooth headphones or a headset for hands free talking. This is a great feature if you work from home and are on the phone quite a bit.
All the phones have the same phonebook. You can add phone numbers of people you talk to. Once you have added these numbers, if a person calls, it will announce the name you added to the number. If you did not add a number to the phonebook it will just state the number calling.
Another feature I like is the telemarketing call block. During an incoming call you can activate this before answering and it will ask the person on the other end to give their name and then you can decide whether to answer the phone or block the number.
Some other features for these phones are a silent mode, which is like Do Not Disturb. The phone will not ring when this is being used. The handsets can be used as a baby monitor. You can block up to 1,000 numbers that you don’t want calling you anymore also.
In all, I really like these phones. My only disappointment is that the handsets do not have speakerphone on them. However, since you can Bluetooth a headset to them, it is a minor disappointment. The user guide has other features that you might find useful also.

The Panasonic 2-in-1 corded/cordless phone is more than your typical desk phone with accompanying cordless phones. It features an onboard digital answering machine, two wireless handsets that is expandable to up to six, the ability to connect wireless headphones, Auto Robo call blocking, talking caller ID and speaker phone.
Setting up the corded base unit is very easy. Plug in the corded handset and the included phone cord to your phone jack and the power and you’re up and running. Once the corded phone powers on, it walks you through the setup of the phone’s time, date, and adding phone contacts. The base station’s screen is clear with characters that are easy to see from your desk chair. The phone system allows you to add up to a hundred contacts and create up to nine groups. Each group can have customized names and ringtones. This is a great feature, so you can identify callers by their ringtones. The sound quality of both the corded handset and speaker phone are very clear and easy to listen to. The handset is not tinny or hollow and the speaker phone is full sounding. The phone system allows you to use it as an intercom or baby monitor from room to room. One unique feature is the ability to pair Bluetooth wireless headphones to use to answer calls so you can continue to do other work while talking on the phone. This is a great feature.
Once the base unit is setup, you can setup the two cordless phones. Again, this is an easy process. Insert the included rechargeable batteries, plug the power cord into the charging station and your off. Once the phone powers up it connects to the base station and date and time are displayed. The wireless handsets have a great range and are very clear sounding again in both the handset’s ear speaker and in the speaker phone functionality.
With other features, such as call waiting, answering a call by using your voice, and recording two-way phone calls, this is the most full featured phone I have ever owned and would be a great addition to any home.

Verdict: It has been ten years since the last time we replaced our landline phones at home. I expected a replacement of existing basic cordless and answering machine capabilities. It turns out that there has been innovation in the landline space too! This Panasonic phones includes many new cool and convenient features that we didn’t have before. This is a welcome addition to our home.
Initial impressions. It comes with two cordless phones, two chargers, and a base station. The cordless phones look pretty standard. The base station has big buttons and an easy-to-read screen; they made good use of the space to maximize convenience and features on that device. I wish the cord on the base station was longer, but I can buy a longer one for cheap, so that’s ok. Setup was easy as expected: just plug and play.
Features. The phone system packs a punch in features! My two favorite features are (1) Bluetooth pairing and (2) the talking caller ID. Bluetooth pairing is really nice because it’s a little annoying to hold the headset if the call will take a while. I bought some inexpensive Bluetooth headphones that I now keep on my desk just for this system. The talking caller ID lets us know who is calling without looking at the phone! If the contact is stored in the phonebook, it even says the person’s name when they call. Another feature I am surprised and impressed with is the auto robo-call block. This feature allows you to send a call you don’t recognize to be screened by the answering machine so you can find out who is calling and then decide if you want to take the call. If it’s a spam call, you can then auto block it for the future.
Range. We installed the base station on the first floor of the house in the living (about the center of the house), and we have one cordless phone on one side of the first floor, and the other on the other side of the house on the second floor. The cordless phones have no issues with connection and call quality is always great… really no complaints there. The phone also has an intercom system, which we use regularly, and the fact that the cordless phones can be far from the base station increases the utility of the intercom system.
Sound. Sound quality has been great, on both the base station and cordless phones, even at the far ends of the house. The speaker phones on the base station and cordless handsets also work quite well, and the ringer is loud enough to hear from across the house.
Things I love:
– Base station has big buttons and a big backlit screen
– Good battery life on the cordless handsets
– Some excellent features, like Bluetooth pairing, talking caller ID, and robo-call blocking
– Great range across the house
– Excellent speaker phone functionality
– Great speakerphone
Things I don’t love:
– I wish it came with one or two more wireless handsets
– A longer cord on the base station would have increased convenience for us
Conclusion. This Panasonic phone system is great! It replaced an old landline system and it has improved our landline experience at home with some awesome new features. We are very happy with this phone system and will be adding one or two more handsets to increase functionality around the house.

The Panasonic – KX-TGF892B DECT 6.0 Expandable Corded/Cordless Phone System is great for those who use a landline phone while needing modern tech. Quite a few homeowners no longer have a landline phone due to the covert and advancement of cell phones over the years. For those that still have a landline, this phone system is great. We still have a landline because our security system does not have cellular connectivity and uses a landline system to dial out. The base of the system connects to the phone line jack that comes out of your wall. It also requires power with its included power chord that needs to be plugged into a power outlet. The smaller cordless phones do not have to be plugged into a phone line. You can place them anywhere in your home, as long as the charging base is plugged into a power outlet. Setup was extremely easy. The base station requires you to input the date and time, and the same goes for the headsets. After that, it’s ready to go. There are more advanced features you can use, with instructions for those in the user manual. The Bluetooth feature for the headsets work great. I was able to pair my Apple AirPods to them, which allows me to talk on the phone without having to hold the headset to my ear. This comes in handy while cooking, doing the dishes, or other household chores. Overall, I’m impressed with this unit and hope to get many years of great service from it.

The Panasonic – KX-TGF892B DECT is a great phone system. Being LEO and a realtor, having a landline may seem outidated, but you can (with the right provider) set multiple options for vmail, certain call’s forwarded and other options. This phone system is a great option for my specific needs.
From un-pack to set up was 5 minutes at the most. Plug in handset, connect phone line, plug base in to outlet and the system is ready to pair the 2 chordless DECT handsets. For those, simply remoce back battery panel, insert 2 included batteries, plug in base and you are ready to go.
One nice feature with this sysytem is it’s DECT {Digitally Enhanced Chordless Telecommunications} that operates at 1900 MHz. The advantage? It’s a much less saturated frequency than any 802.11xx frequency. This is good for both your telephony needs and it leads to less interference for your WiFi network.
Another great feature (at least for me) is the Bluetooth built in. You can pair a Bluetooth headset and have one point of voice as you may need to get up and look for documents etcetera.
End of the day, it’s a great choice IF you have the need.

I really like the corded base station in combo with the wireless handsets. I primarily keep a land line active in my house for 911 service, but I do use the phone for doing household business and every now and then a personal call. I’ve used a few different Panasonic phone systems over the years.
This one impresses right out of the box. The materials feel high quality, not slick or flimsy. The styling of the base unit is very much improved over my full cordless system from a few years back. Very clean, no logos or tacky space-styling.
The wired base handset is sturdy and the micrphones work great. The buttons on the base are big, have a good feel and responsiveness. The display on the base is gigantic and so easy to read from across the room. The system can store a massive amount of phonebook entries, record up to 17 minutes and 30 seconds of messages or you can record both sides of a call for future retrieval. The one-touch buttons are great, I put Il Forno Pizza on one of them.
The phone comes with every calling feature you could want, allowing you to set the flash time for call waiting to 400 or 900ms is very nice with the Comcast phone service-which is a bit unpredictable using the flash key on the old phones, but the new phone works great. Any setup is available via the base on the giant display using the 4-way and select button for the answering machine to navigate.
The wireless handsets have a shorter range than my previous DECT 6.0 Panasonic phone system, I assume this is due to the different base unit. I just moved the base unit to the other end of my desk and I’m able to get clear signal throughout the house. I am not able to walk out in the yard while talking on the cordless handsets like my old phone, though.
The phone also has a hold feature, which lets you put a call on hold on one handset and then you can pick up on another, very nice, and it works well. I was not able to check out the baby-monitor feature, which looks cool, but no babies here….
Using a bluetooth headset with either of the handsets worked just as well as could be expected, with good range allowing me to connect my Creative Outlier buds and walk sometimes surprisingly far from the handset I was connected to. They seems to reconnect automatically if you get too far out of range. It’s rather nice with the landline clarity and the wireless freedom of a headset how pleasant phone calls could be. It’s important to note that this is not the Link2Cell feature, which lets you pair your Bluetooth cell phone with it to make and answer cell calls.
The speakerphone is clear, with good volume for a small office.
The call block feature on the new phone and the other spam call stoppers have been 100% effective. I have only gotten one ring from a spam call and hit the big old block button and haven’t heard back. Many robocallers will call multiple times, it’s more peaceful without the nuisance calls ringing around the house.
Top marks on this phone, so close to perfect!

The Panasonic KX-TGF892B is a versatile and feature-packed phone system that is perfect for both home and office use. It comes with two cordless handsets and an answering machine, allowing you to stay connected and organized throughout the day. The phone has a sleek and stylish design, with a black finish that will complement any décor.
One of the standout features of the Panasonic KX-TGF892B is its large and easy-to-read LCD screen. This makes it simple to navigate through the menu options and view caller ID information. The phone also has a built-in speakerphone, making it easy to take calls hands-free. The sound quality is crystal clear, ensuring that you won’t miss a word of your conversations.
Another great feature of the Panasonic KX-TGF892B is its ability to block unwanted calls. This is a must-have feature for anyone who is tired of receiving calls from telemarketers or scammers. The phone can store up to 250 numbers on its call block list, giving you plenty of room to add all the numbers you want to block.
The answering machine on the Panasonic KX-TGF892B is also top-notch. It has a recording time of up to 18 minutes, allowing you to receive and store plenty of messages. The phone also has a visual voicemail feature, which displays a list of your messages on the LCD screen.
In addition to these features, the cordless handsets have a good battery life, up to 10 hours of talk time and 3-4 days of standby time between charges. The phone system is also easy to set up and use.
Overall, I am very impressed with the Panasonic KX-TGF892B. It is easy to use, packed with features, and has excellent sound quality. Whether you’re using it at home or in the office, this phone system is sure to meet all of your needs.

I will say this takes me back. Wayyyyyyyy back. Lol
I haven’t had a corded phone in years but they are the most reliable I feel.
I needed a home base for the home phone so this had that. I also need other phones that weren’t corded so they can lay around the house.
Setup was super easy. Just plug in the the power which isn’t too long but long enough.
When it comes on the screen is old school and nothing fancy. But it communicates what it needs to and very large text as well. So I don’t have to be extra close to the phone to see who is calling and it will also say who is calling so I don’t even have to look. The other 2 phones are basic in function.
The really really cool feature is being able to use a Bluetooth device for calls. So this phone looks old but has a few new features.
Over all this is a great addition to your home or business.
This brand is tried and true.
Other than the look of the text I don’t really have anything negative to say about this phone set up.
Oh and it’s bilingual so that’s cool

Fromthe main unit to secondary handset units, the display are a nice size, making allof the displays easy to read. No additionalrequirements for additional phones lines as the secondary phones connect to themain unit via wireless. The main phoneunit has call blocking options, answering machine option, phonebook, caller ID,and call waiting features. Each handset hashand-free pairing, accomplished via a dedicated “Bluetooth”, “PAIR (withHeadset Logo)” button. Pairing of up toat least 4 headsets per handset if needed. This unit comes with your main unit and two additional handsets, can beexpanded up to an additional 4 handsets for a total of 6 handsets plus main basestation. Setup is a easy as plugging inthe base station, set the date/time, and when the 2 cordless handsets arepowered on, they will automatically be set and connected. The automated caller blocking for SPAM callsworks wonderfully. Overall build ofeverything seems of quality that will last like similar Panasonic products.

For those who still use land lines, the Panasonic KX-TGF892 phone system combines the reliability of a corded phone with the flexibility of cordless phones in an easy to set up system. The package includes two cordless handsets with a corded handset base, however up to four additional cordless handsets may be added. A user may also pair the system with a Bluetooth device.
One nice feature is that the base unit has a large, easy to read screen, and even though the cordless handsets have smaller screens, they are also very readable. The system has a number of additional features which are explained in a clear instruction book such as a digital answering machine, an internal phonebook holding up to 100 numbers, and a talking caller ID. This would be a good system for a large household or for a small business.
In terms of design, it’s a little busy but when you have to have actual buttons to navigate and select, it is something that can’t be helped. When you consider that it’s a land-line they did pretty good with the button layout, keeping it as clean as they could to access the features. There’s a lot of scrolling involved, but that’s good if you like features. The only way to be a cleaner design in my mind is to remove features completely and that wouldn’t make sense in this tier. I guess a touch screen, but the audience of this phone system wouldn’t need something so touchy.
Overall great!
GameOverSuckas –
This is my 3rd Panasonic home phone setup and they just keep getting better every time! The only thing this setup doesn’t have is the capability to use it when your power goes out like the old school land lines of back in the day. Other than that, this setup seems to have it all and then some!
Out of the box the corded desktop landline has a nice large backlit lcd display with nice big buttons and numbers easy to read especially for those who are older and maybe are farsighted or have vision impairment. It has buttons to cover everything on the base! Voicemail controls, locator (to find the cordless handsets), speakerphone, intercom, a hold button and flash to switch between 2 way calls, and my favorite, the red hot Call Block button for quick one touch call blocking of incoming unwanted spam calls that we all despise so much!
Another one of my favorite features Panasonic offered on my past model is the ability to pair these with your cell phones so you can actually answer your calls on the house handsets. Unfortunately they didn’t add this into this model which was disappointing because they made the phone able too be paired with bluetooth hearing peripherals but no longer your cell phones. This set comes with two cordless units but can add up to four more if you have the need for many more.
The phone has excellent clarity and battery life, It looks great and would be a great addition to any household
(bring back the cell phone connect-ability!!) and that would make this a 5 star

I have been buying Panasonic cordless phones for almost 35 years and I can say they have always been great. The KX-TGF892B continues that tradition and earns top marks in every category. In review:
Features –
Like almost every top line home phone, the KX-TGF892B has all the features – speaker phone, caller ID, intercom, transfer, Bluetooth etc. However, there are three stand out features – the Automated Call Block, One-Ring Scam Alert and 1-touch Call Block Button. While it is impossible to tell how well these features were working , I can say I did not receive any scam calls. The point is that these features are a comprehensive system to minimize scam calls.
Performance –
In a word – perfect. The sound was loud and clear in the head set and the speaker phone. The screens are large and easy to read. At first, I was not sure I would like a basic black and gray screen since my current Panasonic had a large color screen. It turns out a simpler backlit black and gray screen is better. A minor complaint is the screen, while wider than my older Panasonic (KX-PRLA20, ) it is not as tall. That makes you scroll through more of the data when reading. One the corded handset, the screen is quite large and easily seen from across the room.
An interesting aspect of the Panasonic – KX-TGF892B is the handset is taller by ¾ inch than my Panasonic KX-PRLA20. I know that does not sound like a positive, but it turns out to make difference if the sound quality. The increased height moves the microphone on the receiver closer to your mouth. As a result, the handset seems to pick up less background sound and more of your voice.
Build quality –
The overall design and build quality has not changed much over the years. I’ve only been using the KX-TGF892B for about a week so I can attest to its long term durability but it does feel well built. My prior Panasonic handset’s buttons had a bit better tactile feel but I doubt this will affect the long term durability.
Cons –
The only downside I can see with the KX-TGF892B is the 17-minute recording time for the answering machine. The competition has longer time and I would prefer to have something longer
In conclusion, Panasonic phones are virtually unimprovable and have no discernable flaws. There is really no innovation or stand out features that Panasonic can come up with to improve their phones anymore. Therein lies a problem, Panasonic has an increasing share of a shrinking market with great devices that one day will not have much of a place in the world. I hope that does not lead to Panasonic phones disappearing one day, they are really the best. If I were them, I would concentrate on a merging of technologies of their IP cameras with VOIP/landline phones. Keep up the good job Panasonic

This Panasonic Expandable telephone system is a very nice package for a small business or office. The desk phone has a considerable number of useful features, including an address book, intercom, one touch call blocking, hold, an answering machine, speed dial buttons and hold button. This is the perfect device for functionality without being excessively complicated. The voicemail was very straight forward to set up and recording quality was clear.
The two expandable cordless handsets hold a charge for quite some time the range is impressive. I am able to use the handsets throughout my house with no sound or range issues. I have not noted and static or interference, despite my large number of wireless devices.
The portable handsets have a couple of handy features as well, such as the call block button and the pair button to send audio to a Bluetooth headset. I was able to easily pair with my earbuds and the transfer to the earbuds was immediate with no lag time.
The size of the portable handsets are comfortable and lightweight. Cordless phones have improved over the years and the quality of this setup is excellent. The combination of the corded desk unit and the portability of the two cordless handsets make this a great offering for the home or office.

I love this phone. The only complaint I have is that the voice quality could be slightly better. But it’s definitely an improvement over my past phone’s voice quality. I set up the phone so that it is linked to my cell phone in order to see what those features are like. The only main Link2Cell feature I am so far taking advantage of is the voice message that announces over the handsets whenever a text comes in on my cell phone. It announces “Text message from

Ok, this was a no brainer. I have been trying and replacing cordless phones for almost 15 years. I have tried every major brand out there. During the 15 years, I had one set that not only lasted the longest, had the highest quality voice and full-duplex speakerphone, that was my Panasonic.
But then I kept thinking I could find something better, a bit cheaper.
For years, I tried different units, unwilling to ditch them right away but I would endure a year or so and try another. Finally, I jumped back to what I should have years ago. The Panasonic sure did it! ( KX-TGDA99 ).
Panasonic is just easy and everything works, right away. Instructions include are great but to be honest, I just went to my existing base, plugged in my new Panasonic base, replaced the power and connect cable and done!. Plugged in each handset and they automatically added into the system. I went on the menu, to the recording for messages, I quickly created one and all was good. I really like these newer handsets as they show battery when you touch, the menu’s are more concise and easy to follow.
The main new feature on this set is the ability to pair Bluetooth headsets/ear buds to the unit. Then it frees you up to roam with the ear buds or headset and not be tied to the handset. I was able to pair two different ones. I was easily able to pair a K18 single ear Bluetooth headset easily the first time. My skullcandy’s took several times to finally connect. I tested connecting and dialing the call from the handset and then switching to the Bluetooth headset seamlessly which is nice, especially if you work with a headset or ear buds for most of the day. Taking a call is simple, you just pick up the handset, press talk and press pair to select which paired headset and then the call is in your ear. You can then just set the phone back into the cradle so that it can be charging while you continue your call.
The base is really nice, I have it on my desk and it’s very easy to use the full duplex speakerphone while working. It’s nice to be back to a Panasonic set. It’s also nice to have a brand that over time seems even more solid and feature rich vs. some other brands that lose quality over the years. This is a great phone and I highly recommend.
Kadete –
I had an older version of this so I decided to upgrade. Panasonic makes great corded and cordless phones and the KX-TGF892B is not the exception. In today’s ever changing tech field, this is very useful at home with home office and my elderly mother because of the large size numbers and the convenient additional two handsets which all can be wall mounted for convenience. It is very easy to set up with a large display and plenty of memory for voicemail. It has convenient Bluetooth technology to connect to external headphones a feature I have not used yet. The sound for ringing and speaker have lout enough volume to be able to hear them from far. The battery life is very long but not really relevant since each set comes with a charger. It has long range with the 1.9 GHz signal. The intercom feature is very useful specially when calling from my desk. There is a message indicator for awaiting messages. Overall, this is a very useful and reliable technology that is better suited for home office or the whole family answering machine.

The Panasonic – KX-TGF892B is a full featured, dependable, expandable Corded/Cordless Phone System that will serve you for many years. This system comes with a corded base unit and two cordless handsets that can be placed anywhere in your house or workplace. You can also add up to four more cordless handsets (sold separately) for a total of six.
The Bluetooth pairing works well. You can pair up to four Bluetooth devices, such as earbuds, headphones, or speakers and use them to take calls hands-free. I’ve used it with a Bluetooth Conference speaker several times. Having a Bluetooth speaker is useful for using both hands while talking and to move around while on a call. I also tested with my earbuds, and they also worked well.
The phone follows the TIA-1083 standard for hearing aid compatibility, which means that it reduces noise and interference for people who use hearing aids. This makes the phone more accessible and user-friendly for people with hearing impairments. I know someone with a Panasonic phone system who uses it with hearing aids, and she said it works well for her.
The phone has other features that make it easy to use and manage your calls. The phone has an Automated Call Block that pre-blocks robocalls plus you can push a button to block up to 1,000 unwanted callers that manage to get through. There is talking caller ID that announces the name or number of the caller in English or Spanish. You can also set up a baby monitor function that lets you hear what’s happening in another room.
The phone also comes with a digital answering machine that can store up to 17 minutes of messages. You can check the voice mail message counter on the base unit or remotely from any handset. The phone also has a power back-up function that lets you use it for up to six hours during a power outage.
The phone has a stylish design with a black finish that will work with most any décor. The corded base unit has a large easy to read 3.4-inch LCD screen that displays the date, time, caller ID, and other information. The cordless handsets have a 1.8-inch LCD screen, a comfortable grip and are well balanced. The buttons on all phones are large and easy to read. Overall, I found it easy to use the various features.
The battery life of the cordless handsets is impressive. Panasonic claims that they can last up to 10 hours of talk time when Bluetooth is off and up to seven hours when Bluetooth is on. I managed a bit better with my usage so far on fresh batteries. One feature I really like is that the batteries are standard size rechargeable AA batteries with a batter access door. These batteries are relatively cheap, and replacements can be found easily when they wear out essentially making them ‘new’ again.
The cordless handsets range is excellent. I was able to use them on different floors and in the yard without any issues. The sound quality was clear and consistent throughout.
The phone system is easy to install and set up. You just need to connect the base unit to your phone line and plug it into a power outlet. On the cordless handsets, you just need to insert the batteries and charge them. They are already paired with the base unit. You can customize the date, time, ringtone, volume, language, a
You can also mount the base unit on a wall if you prefer. The phone comes with a wall-mounting adapter that fits most standard wall plates. Ensure your wall mount is secure to the box as it is a bit heavier than wall mount phones I used in the past.
I have been using Panasonic phones for decades now and I have always been satisfied with the quality and performance. They are durable and dependable, even after dropping them numerous times, leaving them out in the sun all day or in the rain. They just keep working.
Overall, I think that the Panasonic KX-TGF892B phone system is an excellent choice for anyone who wishes a feature rich reliable phone system for their home or office.

Easy to read display, nice to have the extra cordless phone

I’ve always liked the Panasonic phones, now even better with the Call Blocker feature. Still reading the book manual, so I’m still learning it. Just found out that I should add Batteries to the Main Corded Base of the phone.

In the world where most of the phones in the world are cell phone, there are businesses that need to have a land line phone or in some homes they still prefer to use landline. And if you do need a land line this is the model you can rely on.

It’s a tad confusing as you attempt to set up options. Plus, to increase rings the phone company is involved. Who knew? Invasive if you ask me. We like the display screen elevated. Our old Uniden lasted seven years and we’re hoping the Panasonic lasts as long. It would be nice if the cordless had a blinking light to let you know there are messages rather than walking to the main landline to see the messages. So far it works well and the buttons are easy to push. We are using a Bluetooth headset since our Uniden had jacks on the cordless phones. The menu options could be better designed, but so far it’s good.
