    For the price, this is a great player though it’s a little cheaply built. My favorite is that it is NOT “smart”. At the end of the day I use my TV for streaming and appreciate how now I don’t have another useless tied to wi-fi. I also can’t recommend buying open box enough!

    I finally upgraded to a 4K HDTV. I needed a basic 4K player that was affordable, and can play 3D Blu-Rays as well! This was that player! I was amazed at the quality of 4K compared to regular Blu-Ray, and I noticed the difference right away!

    I did have one problem…playing the recently released 4K Star Trek VI! The other 4K Star Trek movies played well, with no problems, but Star Trek VI didn’t get past the Paramount logo and language selection, so I checked the system information…v. 1.05! I checked on Panasonic’s website and found out the latest firmware is 1.06! After downloading, unzipping, and transferring to a USB drive, I upgraded the player to 1.06, and Star Trek VI was playing well!

    If you have any 4K Blu-Ray Discs that don’t play, go to Panasonic’s website and try to upgrade the firmware. It worked for me!

    The only reason to buy this player is for the dvd upscaling feature at this price point. But the quality of its build is sub-par and the buttons on the unit feel super cheap. Our eject button barely worked at all, and when it did, the tray sounded strained and creaky while it opened. It operates clumsily and slowly and it doesn’t let you skip around the dvd previews/menus as easily as all the Sonys I have. Finally the remote control is poorly laid out & missing some convenient buttons. The remote feels flimsy and cheap as well.

    If you’re tired of the instant gratification of streaming and having everything on demand, and want to get back to that late 90s, early 2000s vibe, then buy this device, like i did. Its great for walking your kids down memory lane as you physically pull out your collection of 200+ mixed bag of DVDs and Blue-rays. For me its the ritual of it that takes me back to a simpler time.

    Generally comfortable with it, purchased mainly for 4K Ultra and ATMOS compatibility and got it on sale BUT the tiny, simple remote SUCKS! All of my other Panasonic devices have good remotes, this one does NOT! Knowing what I know now it was a good purchase ON SALE but I would NOT purchase it at full price. The unit does look cheap but it works OK but I use my other 2 players (newer LG & Sony) more often, they work better & have streaming. I think there are better choices out there now. All are hooked up to my Panasonic Plasma TV, probably the best display ever!

    Definately worth the money. Works great, only thing I do not like is the menu button on the controll. I keep thinking it will go to the menu on the DVD but it does the player. Used a few times, upscale work well.

    With all of the streaming these days, I’ve never thought about buying a Blu-ray player. I wanted one for playing my old DVDs and CDs, but also have friends that have Blu-ray discs so I borrowed a few. Let me say this is the best player for the money. Even old DVDs are crystal clear. All I can say is wow! I hate I waited so long!

    Quite possibly the worst electronic product I’ve ever purchased. After only a couple of months it would not recognize any disc, from 1080p to dvd to cd or 4k uhd. Endedup slamming on floor and thowing in garbage.

    Panasonic makes some of the best Audio/Video equipment around and a have been doing so for decades and this 4K Ultra-HD Blue-ray player does not disappoint. The Picture and Sound is amazing sharp and clear. This 4K Ultra-HD Blue-ray player makes 4K Movies just shine like a diamond. I could not be happier, the price is worth it yes it costs a bit more but for quality and picture and sound its worth it many times over. Panasonic quality is unsurpassed and it shows in this 4K Ultra-HD Player.

    It is incredible. It is very close to watching in movie theater. I finally learned how to make popcorn close to theater quality. Yay! Nothing like sitting at home enjoying a fabulous movie while eating great food. I’m sure there is obviously a step up, but for the price. What can I say about this one. Go out and buy it. You will not regret it.

    This 4k HD Bluray player works really well and has great picture quality. I also have a Sony 4k player and can’t tell the difference in picture quality, but I am still very happy with this unit and the price. I recommend it.
